This is a gay love story set in the late 60s and early 70s when, despite
the new legislation allowing homosexual acts between two people, it was
still difficult to be open about your sexuality. It is pure fiction and
fantasy and none of the characters portrayed relate to any known person.

9.

A week before the wedding, John's brother called to say that he was not
well and could not come to the wedding to give his sister away. In addition
his wife could not be bridesmaid to the ladies. John was not pleased and
nor was Isobel. They were not sure if it was just an excuse for some reason
or if he was genuinely ill. When John questioned him about the illness he
was somewhat vague.

"To hell with them," Isobel exclaimed when John told her, "We will manage
without".

Since Rupert and Ann had no family to call on to walk Ann down the aisle it
had been agreed that Rupert would do the honours. John said he would now do
the same for Isobel and having done so, the two men would then stand with
their sham brides in front of the vicar. The ladies also decided to
dispense with a bridesmaid and used young Rose to do whatever they needed.

The result of course was that the only people attending the ceremony would
be the bride and grooms, Charles Stephens as best man, Daniel and the
staff. Rupert had also arranged for Thomas and Robin to come to Brylands so
they too could enjoy the event.


Rupert could tell that John was peeved about his brother not coming even
though he had no idea or inclination as to the real reasons for the sham
event. Many years later when homosexuality was more accepted by the general
populace, John did admit to his brother that he was 'gay', which was the
term then being used, and that Isobel was a lesbian. His brother admitted
that he was not surprised about John since he had watched him and Rupert
together over the years and suspected they might be that way inclined, but
he was surprised about his sister and Ann even though he made no judgement
about any of them.


A day before the wedding, Rupert received some very good news which cheered
John up no end as well as Daniel who was gradually settling in to his new
life at Brylands. It seemed that Drayton in Stoke-on-Trent had found a
young man who was willing to join the staff at the Hallsdown estate near
Derby. His name was Craig and he was in his mid twenties. He happened to
have excellent knowledge of horses and since Hallsdown had six prize horses
which he adored, Craig managed to obtain the job of stable hand. Craig was
a good looking young man and looked much younger than his true years so do
doubt that persuaded Hallsdown to engage him. Hallsdown did not realise
that Craig was not that way inclined but he soon became accepted by the
other employees and played the part to the full.

The other employees consisted of an estate manager and another young fellow
who Craig later reported was in cahoots with the manager with regard to
stealing as much as they could from Hallsdown because of the man's bad
treatment of them. In addition to these two fellows, there were two young
boys, both of whom were about fifteen years of age. One assisted Craig in
the stables and the other in the house which was not that large but
apparently contained a fine collection of art and silver.

The report that Rupert received several weeks later after the wedding,
stated that Hallsdown had a habit of going to his estate at weekends. When
he was there he treated all the employees with contempt and shouted at them
for the slightest of reasons. It also seemed apparent that Hallsdown had no
proper controls on his financial situation so the manager and his associate
were able to cheat their employer left, right and centre without him
realising.

The key thing that Craig noticed and also managed to photograph without
Hallsdown knowing, was the treatment meted out to the two young boys. As in
London, Hallsdown whipped and abused them. What he did not realise was that
Craig was very interested in photography and owned the latest equipment to
take good quality pictures using long range lenses. As such he was able to
obtain useful evidence of the abuse being given to the boys by Hallsdown
and the photographs obtained included graphic detail.

On what turned out to be the final day of Craig's period of work at the
estate, he had obtained some very disturbing evidence. He reported that
Hallsdown had dragged the two boys out into a paddock early one morning,
literally ripped off their clothes and made them run naked round a muddy
paddock with their hands tied behind their back. If the boys fell over,
Hallsdown would whip them with a horse whip across their naked back or
their buttocks. When both boys were red all over, bruised and bleeding, as
well as being covered in mud, Hallsdown then tied each one to a post in the
yard and used a high pressure hose on their naked bodies. First he hosed
their backs and when these were red from the force of the water, he then
turned them round and hosed their fronts. Finally he played the hose
directly onto their sensitive private parts which caused them extreme pain
due to the force of the water hitting against their testicles. The boys
were crying and screaming but Hallsdown just continued laughing. At the
time, he was naked apart from a pair of riding boots which he occasionally
used to kick the boys in the groin when they were tied to the post.

By this time, Hallsdown was showing clear signs of sexual excitement and
the photographs which Craig obtained showed the full erection very
clearly. They also showed full face pictures of Hallsdown so there was no
doubt who was undertaking this atrocity. The final act was to bend each boy
over a table in the tack room and force himself upon each of them until he
was sexually satisfied. Craig reported that this treatment went on for a
good hour or more and by the time Hallsdown finally stopped, the two boys
were almost dead.

Craig was so incensed at watching this spectacle that he wanted to
intervene but he knew it would do no good. The other two employees were
well aware of what went on but stayed clear since they too knew what
Hallsdown would do to them if they intervened.

Once Hallsdown had left the boys dumped on the floor in one of the stable
stalls, Craig immediately put them into his car and left. Fortunately he
was not living in so was able to make a quick exit. He took the boys to a
doctor he knew who cared for the boys. It seemed that Hallsdown returned to
London that same day so was not aware that two more of his boys and Craig
had flown the nest.

Some days later, Craig contacted the estate manager and advised him and his
colleague to also 'fly the nest' saying that if the boys made any complaint
against Hallsdown, they too could be implicated. Whether the two boys had
any intention of doing this, Craig did not know, but he did know that the
manager and his colleague had a final act to play on Hallsdown in
retribution for the way they had been treated over the years.

It seemed the manager had sold the six horses to an Irish horse trainer and
the horses were shipped to Ireland with no trace of where they had gone;
the proceeds of course going to the manager instead of Hallsdown. The
manager also organised for other crooks to come into the house and strip it
of all the fine artwork and silver. Having made a nice sum of money from
all of this and emptied the bank account that he had access to, the manager
with his partner in crime then set going a sequence of events that would
several hours later, when they were well gone, burn the house down gutting
the entire contents. The stables and outbuildings were also given the same
treatment so there was nothing left apart from a blackened shell.

This all happened several weeks after the wedding and by this time the last
two stages of Rupert's plan were in place. When Hallsdown was eventually
advised of the loss of his house and horses it seemed he was
devastated. The estate manager had also failed, either by mistake or
deliberately, to renew the insurance so Hallsdown had lost everything. The
only thing that Rupert regretted was that Hallsdown took out his anger on
the three young boys still under his control in London. It seemed that he
now kept them tied up virtually all the time at the Notting Hill house.


Whilst all this was going on, the wedding had taken place. It was by design
a small affair conducted in the local church but the vicar and a few
villagers who always seemed to attend such events thought they were
witnessing two loving couples making their vows!

Once the ceremony was over and the registers had been signed using Charles
and Cecil as witnesses, the group returned to Brylands. Cecil and Ralph had
prepared a superb buffet for everyone to enjoy, which included Charles,
Daniel and the seven staff. As soon as the couples were inside the front
door and the two official cars had left, Rupert took John into his arms and
gave him a passionate kiss. Ann and Isobel did the same whilst the others
all looked on cheering and clapping. Cecil then led the newly formed happy
couples into the drawing room where they found a table laden with
food. Alongside there were two more tables with a wedding cake on each one.

The cakes were not large but they looked beautiful. They had been made by
Ralph and instead of the usual bride and groom in place at the top one cake
had two grooms and the other two brides. On the groom's cake the lettering
said 'We wish Rupert and John all happiness together' and the other said
'We wish Ann and Isobel all happiness together'. The two couples were
overcome with emotion and immediately took Cecil and Ralph into their arms
and kissed them.

"Thank you so much; that is really lovely" Rupert finally managed to say
between his tears of joy.

Charles then got everyone to toast the happy couples with a glass of the
finest bubbly that had now been poured and said how honoured he felt at
being able to witness the event.

"I only hope that in years to come it will be possible for the likes of us
to be open about our sexuality and show the world that two people of the
same sex can be as much in love together as a man and a woman" he finally
said.

Everyone cheered and clapped and raised their glasses yet again. Rupert
then said he would like to say a few words before they all tucked into the
wonderful spread that was before them.

"I really am the happiest man in the world" he said looking at John, "and
on behalf of John, Ann, Isobel and myself, I would like to thank all of you
who I have the privilege of considering my friends and colleagues, for
making this a wonderful day."

Everyone clapped and Rupert told them all to enjoy themselves.

Cecil had told Rupert that he would not let his own hair down too much so
as to ensure that everything went well, but the other staff could do so if
they wished. Sometime later, Charles told Rupert that he needed to leave
since he had important client meetings the next day so a taxi was called to
take him to the station. By this time Jacob was in no fit state to drive
the Bentley!


Finally the party came to a close and the ladies went up to their new
quarters in the east wing and Rupert and John to the west wing. Since there
were insufficient rooms on the second floor for Thomas and Robin, they had
been given a room along the corridor from Rupert and John.

By this time, the men had all discarded their ties and jackets, and shirts
were mostly unbuttoned down the front. The ladies had already changed out
of their wedding dresses which had been ceremoniously ripped up and given
to Cecil to burn the next day saying they did not wish to keep them as a
reminder of their sham marriage. Rupert was tempted to do the same to his
morning suit but since it was a very expensive one and one which he rather
liked, he decided against the idea.

Eventually Rupert, John, Thomas and Robin assisted each other up the stairs
and made their way into the west wing leaving Cecil to lock up downstairs.

"Would you like us to help you get undressed sirs?" Thomas said in a
slurred voice due to the many glasses of champagne and other drinks he had
consumed.

Instead of saying they could manage, Rupert replied, "If you would like
to".

This of course was taken as an invitation to do so and Thomas, who clearly
had more wits about him than Rupert or John at the time, put his arm round
Rupert whilst Robin did the same to John. They somehow got into the main
bedroom and it was not long before Rupert and John were stripped naked.

Without any thought on the matter, John then proceeded to undress Robin so
Rupert did the same to Thomas. Once all four of them were stark naked they
fell onto the bed and went down onto each other's erections which somehow
had managed to form.

For some reason, sex always seemed to sober Rupert up sufficiently for him
to enjoy and be able to perform. It was not long before Robin was kneeling
on the bed offering himself to anyone who wished to penetrate him. Rupert
certainly did and Thomas followed.

John, who had not quite managed to maintain his erection due to the large
volume of alcohol he had consumed, was then given the same treatment but

At some point during the night, Thomas and Robin went to their own room
leaving Rupert and John to hug each other as they slept.

It was Cecil who eventually woke them around midmorning with a cup of tea
and a big grin.

"How are we all this morning?" he asked cheerfully.

"Well I am not surprised sir but hopefully you consider it all worth it"
Cecil giggled in response.

John turned to Rupert and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

"Yes Cecil, I am prepared to suffer anything to be with this gorgeous
creature beside me".

"I am so pleased sir" Cecil chuckled, "now would you like me to prepare a
bath for you both?"

Rupert said they would and watched Cecil move off into the bathroom to run
the bath. When he had gone, he reached down to feel John's morning erection
and then plunged beneath the covers to suck him off.

"When sir finally emerges" Rupert heard Cecil say a few minutes later,
"tell him that the bath is now ready for your dual soak".

John giggled and told Cecil "Fuck off". Cecil did just that and added as he
went, "I think that may come a bit later sir".


When Rupert had indeed had his way with his lover and they had bathed
together, they made their way downstairs to breakfast.

"I'm starving" John announced as he went into the dining room.

"Yes, sir" Cecil replied with a deadpan face, "sex does tend to make you
hungry".

Eventually Rupert and John sat down and grinned at each other.

"I am so going to enjoy our life together here" he whispered to Rupert.


"How are the ladies this morning Cecil? Rupert then asked.

Cecil informed him that they had risen much earlier and had now gone for a
horse ride.

"And the rest of the staff?" he then asked.

"Thomas and Robin are just about coming to, as are Jacob and Ralph. Young
Joseph seems fine and has been helping me clear up this morning."

"Thank Joseph for me will you please Cecil; he seems to be a keen young man
and fitting in well" Rupert replied.

"He is indeed sir and I believe is liked very much by Jacob and Ralph
... if you understand my meaning sir."

Rupert grinned and replied he certainly did.

"And Rose how is she? We mustn't forget her now she is living here."

"I understand from the ladies that Rose is fine sir and is busy clearing up
the chaos in the east wing" Cecil grinned.

"Is Daniel up yet?" Rupert suddenly remembered to ask before Cecil left
them to continue their breakfast.

"He is sir and I believe he has gone down to the lake for a swim although I
personally am never too happy when he goes on his own just in case
something happens; should I go and check on him do you think sir?"

Rupert said not to worry since Daniel was a strong swimmer and in any event
he and John would go and find him as soon as they had finished breakfast.


"Tell me" John asked once Cecil had finally left them alone, "did we have
sex with Thomas and Robin last night?"

"We did indeed John and you had the delight of being taken by all three of
us"

"You mean to say that I had Robin's cock inside me and I was not really
aware of it" John exclaimed laughing.

"It seems so" Rupert laughed, "but I am sure there will be other
opportunities when you are more sober".

"I sincerely hope so; I was looking forward to feeling his fine organ
inside me" John giggled.


When they had finally finished breakfast they walked to the lake to find
Daniel. He was stretched out naked on the grassy bank where Rupert had
brought him on his second day at Brylands.

"Morning Daniel, how are you this morning?" Rupert asked.

Daniel looked up and grinned, "I am feeling fine; how about the newly
'weds'?"

"That reminds me" Rupert said as he took out of his pocket their two rings,
"shall we ask Daniel to witness our exchange of rings John?"

John thought that an excellent idea and then asked, "Do we do it dressed or
undressed seeing that Daniel is in the buff?"

"Let's do it undressed" Rupert replied and immediately removed his clothes.

When they were both naked, Rupert asked Daniel to hold the two
rings. Rupert then stood in front of John and taking his ring from Daniel
he took John's hand and slowly slipped it on the third finger of John's
left hand whilst he said

"John, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love for you and my
commitment to you and as a strengthening of our relationship we have had
all the years we have known each other. It is based on love and respect,
openness and honesty with one another and in front of Daniel here I restate
my love and respect for you and promise to be open and honest with you."

By the time Rupert had finished, John was crying tears of joy. All he could
do was kiss Rupert passionately.

John then took the other ring from Daniel and said

"Rupert, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love for you and my
commitment to you. It too is based on love and respect, openness and
honesty and in front of Daniel here I restate my love and respect for you
and promise to be open and honest with you."

Rupert then kissed John and Daniel took each of them into his arms and
kissed them both.

"Oh my, that was so beautiful," Daniel said with tears in his eyes, "thank
you so much for letting me witness that".


Having admired the new rings upon their fingers, they all walked into the
water and had a swim. The water was still beautifully warm and it felt
good.

As they walked back through the spinney carrying their clothes and then
across the lawn towards the house, Daniel told them that he had decided he
would very much like to remain at Brylands and take up Rupert's offer to
work at the home farm if that was possible.

"If you don't want me to live in the big house I am sure I can find
somewhere else" Daniel added.

"Gracious me no" John exclaimed, "we don't mind Daniel living with us do we
Rupert"

Rupert agreed that Daniel was more than welcome to continue occupying the
room he had in the west wing if that suited him.

"That would be lovely, thank you so much; I really do not know how to thank
you both for all you have done" Daniel replied.

"Oh Daniel, I am sure we can think of some way for you to show your
appreciation" John blurted out without much thought.

"John!" Rupert exclaimed smacking his lover on his buttocks, "I must
apologise for my boyfriend Daniel, he seems to have a one track mind".

Having realised his error, John tried to apologise saying he was only
joking and that sex was the last thing on Daniel's mind.

"Oh don't be too sure about that John" Daniel grinned, "I am more or less
recovered from the traumas caused by you know who and yearn for some
closeness again".

Rupert put his arm round Daniel's naked waist and pulled him in tight.

"Well, whenever you feel the time is right Daniel; you have plenty of young
men to choose from that's for sure" Rupert replied.

"Ah, but I always appreciate experience when it comes to sex" Daniel
grinned.

"In that case you just let us know when you are ready" Rupert told him
smiling.

"Thank you; I will" Daniel replied with an equally engaging smile.


A few days after this conversation, Rupert and John were sitting in the
corner of a small bar in North London with a man who called himself
Gary. He was a very good looking young man and despite being twenty five
years of age he in fact looked much younger because he had a look of
innocence about him. He had been trained as an actor but had decided not to
take up the profession. He had been introduced to Rupert through an
intermediary and they were now discussing Rupert's next stage in the ruin
of Lord Hallsdown.

"I do not wish to know your names" he was saying to Rupert and John, "so I
will call you A & B; the less we know about each other the better" Gary
added.

Rupert agreed and then gave Gary a brief synopsis of Hallsdown and his
treatment of young boys.

"I have met his type before" Gary replied remembering a time when he had
been abused by a man such as Hallsdown.

"So who is the other man involved?" Gary asked.

Rupert explained that they had now determined that the man who seemed to
trap the boys for Hallsdown by means of gambling and getting them into
debt, was a man called Clark.

"We do believe that Clark is to some extent under the control of Hallsdown
and when he is with the boys he does his best to look after them but when
Hallsdown is around Clark treats them in much the same way as he does."

"That is quite common" Gary replied, "This man Hallsdown probably has
something over Clark so he has no choice. So from what you are telling me
you want Clark given a good lesson rather than being caught by the police
in the act as it were".

Rupert replied that was the case now they had obtained more information
about Clark.

"We believe that if Clark is given some of his own medicine then he will
disappear and think twice about doing the same again."

"Possibly" Gary replied and then grinned, "I shall enjoy giving this man
Clark what he deserves so let us discuss our plan".

"So are you sure you can trap Clark and get him to this barn you say you
know of" John then asked.

Gary grinned, "Oh yes, I know every trick in the book when it comes to
cards and gambling; I will have the shirt off this man's back by the time I
have finished with him and he will be begging to join me for another game
where he will think he can win back his money."


Having discussed further details and taken the money from Rupert that Gary
was to use to gamble with, they parted company until Gary contacted them
again through their intermediary.

"Are you sure you can trust the man?" John asked as they made their way
back to Regents Park.

"Time will tell, time will tell" Rupert mused "but if my contact is correct
then I am sure we can".

"So as I understand it" John continued, "young Gary will lose a couple of
games to make Clark think he is getting hooked, and then, as he puts it,
take the shirt off the man's back so that he is the one in debt and
desperate to regain his losses."

"That is it precisely" Rupert giggled, "and since Clark is no doubt
financed by Hallsdown, it will be his money that is being taken off him
leaving Clark even more desperate to win it back before Hallsdown finds
out."

"And then?"

"And then my dear John, we join young Gary in showing Clark what it is like
to be on the end of a whip and having a cock forced up him without any
preparation" Rupert grinned.

"Would you in fact force yourself on him? I doubt I could do it and I am
not sure Gary would either."

"There are several ways to skin a cat as they say John; you do not need to
use flesh and blood to have the same effect!"

"Ah, I see, you mean use a dildo?" John giggled.

"Precisely and I already have the tool in my possession" Rupert laughed,
"it will certainly make your eyes water, I can assure you".

"Mm, perhaps I should try this tool out first" John giggled.

"You can if you wish John but I suggest you see it first before you agree
to anything you may regret."

"Wow, is it that big?"

"It sure is" Rupert laughed.


 Rupert and John decided to remain in London until they had heard back from
Gary. They knew it would take him a few days to set up the chance meeting
with Clark and then probably another two or possibly three days of gambling
before the final act took place.

To while away the time they enjoyed each other's company at home during the
daytime, involving Thomas and Robin on occasions since they were both more
than happy to join in any sexual activities when given the opportunity. In
the evenings they often visited the Green Carnation club and had many
enjoyable sessions with Sam and on one occasion with a new houseboy as
well.

During this period, Rupert also heard from Drayton that things had now been
put into motion with the shop steward at the factory near Derby. He was
about to call the entire workforce out on strike in two days time following
which it was expected that Hallsdown would give instructions to his works
manager to sack the lot. Having done that, Drayton would immediately employ
the sacked staff including the works manager and several other key staff.

"Hallsdown is not going to know what has hit him" Rupert chuckled when he
had heard the news.


Three days later, Rupert received a message from Gary to say Clark was now
deeply in debt to him and had agreed to go with him to what he thought was
going to be a life saver. Rupert sent a message back saying they would meet
Gary at the prearranged place on the date stated which was to be the night
after next. Rupert arranged a rental car for them to use and everything was
done under assumed names and in cash so nothing could be traced back to
Rupert.

On the night in question, Rupert and John collected the rental car and made
their way to a dark alley in North London to wait for Gary.

"This is really spooky" John whispered as they waited in the car which they
had parked just inside the alley.

As they waited, their eyes became accustomed to the darkness so they could
see more of their surroundings. Gary had told them to wear all black and a
balaclava over their heads so as to hide their face. Rupert also reminded
John not to talk at all whilst Clark was with them so he could not identify
them in anyway.

"Total silence John whatever happens" Rupert repeated.

"Understood" John replied, "I think like Gary I may actually enjoy what we
are about to do" he added grinning although Rupert could not see his grin.

"Mm, always knew you were a bit kinky" Rupert giggled.


After about half an hour, they heard another car coming into the
alley. There was a pause for a few minutes but as instructed, Rupert and
John remained in the car until Gary walked towards them with Clark. He had
already told Rupert that his plan would be to convince Clark that the
location of the gambling venue had to be kept secret so he would be
blindfolded with a hood before they transferred into the other car that
would take them to the venue.

Eventually Rupert could see two figures walking towards the car. Gary, who
was also wearing a balaclava, was leading Clark by the arm since he now had
a hood over his head. John remained in the driving seat and Rupert stepped
outside as arranged. As soon as Gary had led Clark to the car, he and
Rupert grabbed Clark's hands and quickly brought them behind his back
whilst Gary handcuffed them.

"This is to stop you being tempted to pull the hood off as we go" Gary told
Clark in a very thick Irish accent which surprised Rupert and John since it
was nothing like the voice Gary had used when they had last met.

Clark was then sat in the back of the car with Rupert on one side of him
and Gary on the other. John had already been told the route to follow so he
set off immediately. As they drove along, Gary put his hand into Clark's
crotch.

"I think you like this don't you?" Gary said to Clark.

Clark grunted and Gary was not sure if he was agreeing or not but he did
feel a hardness forming inside Clark's trousers. Gary then indicated to
Rupert to pull Clark's shoe and sock off his right foot whilst he did the
left. Having got both shoes off, Gary tossed them out the window as they
travelled along a dark country road.

Gary then sat astride Clark, ripped open the man's shirt and pulled it back
over his shoulders. Clark was not quite sure what was happening. Was this
Gary just having fun or what? Gary then unfastened Clark's trousers and he
and Rupert pulled them down his legs and off his feet along with his
underpants. Having removed the cash inside the trouser pocket and placed it
in his own, Gary then tossed these garments out of the window onto the side
of the road.

Whilst Rupert played with Clark's organ which was still very excited, Gary
tore the shirt off Clark's back and tossed the remains out of the
window. Clark was unaware that his clothes had now been disposed of in this
way and was still unsure what was happening. He did however think it rather
odd that he was being taken to a gambling event in this naked state!

Having got Clark stark naked, Gary took over from Rupert and played with
his private parts. He pulled and squeezed Clark's testicles and despite the
pain it must have been causing him, Clark seemed still to enjoy the
treatment he was receiving.

Finally they reached an old barn in the middle of nowhere. To access it,
John had driven down a narrow track that led off a country lane. It looked
as if it was part of a derelict farm that had not been used for many a
year. Gary got out of the car and pulled Clark out, with Rupert following
behind. They then led him into the barn over to where a rope was hanging
from a beam. Gary refastened Clark's handcuffs so that his hands were now
above his head. He then lowered the rope and looped it through Clark's
handcuffed hands. The rope was then pulled until Clark was just about
standing on the ground with his hands high above him.

"Now you know what it's like to be strung up naked" Gary told Clark in the
same thick Irish accent.

Clark now realised that he was not where he was led to believe he was going
and started shouting abuse so Gary stuffed a gag into his mouth beneath the
hood to shut him up. His white naked body could be seen quite clearly
despite the darkness and Rupert could see the man's organ hanging down
between two large testicles. To enhance the visual picture, Gary then
fitted a piece of wood between his legs to open them wide apart.

Picking up three whips from the table, Gary gave one to each of them. He
then started using his on Clark's naked buttocks and indicated for the
other two to do the same.

Clark was wriggling around with each stroke that hit his naked flesh and

already becoming quite red where they were striking it. Gary then commenced

again in his thick Irish accent.

Clark did have the decency to shake his head from side to side as if he was
agreeing with what Gary had said.

What Gary did next, was somewhat of a surprise to Rupert and John as they
watched. He held Clark's cock and then singed his thick pubic hair with his
cigarette lighter until it was stubble. For a few minutes the air was thick
with the smell of burning hair. It was something that had been done to Gary
when he was much younger and he had never forgotten the effect it had on
him at the time.

back to the car with his hands cuffed behind his back. Once inside, Rupert
climbed in beside him on one side and Gary the other.


After they had driven two or three miles back along the country road they
had first come, Gary tapped John on his shoulder to indicate for him to
stop the car. He then climbed out and pulled Clark out behind him whilst
Rupert and John watched from within the car. They already knew the plan so
John was ready to drive off as soon as Gary was back in the car.

Clark was pushed down on the ground facing a ditch which contained a small
amount of dirty water. Gary unfastened Clark's handcuffs and pushed him
down into the ditch. Gary then jumped back into the car and John sped
off. By the time Clark had climbed back out of the ditch and removed his
hood, the car was well gone.

 "Well, I think that went rather well don't you guys?" Gary said using his
own voice again.


John dropped Gary off where he wished to leave them and they said their
goodbyes.

"I take it we don't owe you any more money" Rupert said as the car pulled
to a stop.

"No thank you gentleman, I managed to fleece our friend more than enough to
cover expenses and make a good profit. It was a pleasure doing business
with you" Gary replied laughing as he jumped out of the car.


When Clark had finally climbed out of the ditch and removed his hood, he
swore at Hallsdown for having got him into this business. 'I'll kill the
man if I ever get hold of him' Clark told himself as he made his sorry way
along the country lane with no more than a hood to cover his nakedness. It
was still dark and he had no idea of the time. His watch, wallet and other
personal items had been discarded along with his clothes along the way. He
suddenly realised that he was alone and penniless. His back and his
buttocks stung from the whipping and his entrance felt as if it had the

Lord Hallsdown had reacted to the news that his workforce had gone on
strike exactly as predicted. He told the works manager to immediately sack
all of them, which he did. Drayton then arranged for all the sacked
employees to be employed in his new venture along with the works manager
and several other key staff. Hallsdown was left with nothing apart from a
couple of clerical staff who were of not much help. Since both of them were
nearing retirement and not bothered what happened, they just waited to see
what Hallsdown did.

The union had black listed the plant so no man worth his salt would work
there when they heard what Hallsdown had done to the other employees. His
customers soon deserted him since they were no longer being supplied and
quickly transferred their allegiance to Drayton's factory in
Stoke-on-Trent. Suppliers also refused to supply him and instead called in
their debts. Within a matter of days, Hallsdown realised he was in serious
problems. He owed the bank lots of money for loans he had taken out for the
factory's operation, the premises of which he did not even own. This was
soon repossessed so there was nothing. In addition, of course, he had by
this time lost his country house and horses so all he had was a ramshackle
house in Notting Hill.

He once again took his anger out on the three young boys he was still
keeping tied up at the house. His associate Clark had failed to turn up
when expected so this did not improve his mood. Little did he know that on
that precise night, Clark was being taught a severe lesson by Rupert, John
and Gary!


Two days before this particular night, Rupert had spoken to the Assistant
Chief Constable at his club and had given him the report and photographs
that Craig had taken of Hallsdown's abuse of the boys at his house near
Derby. Rupert knew the man well, having done so over many years. The ACC
was horrified when he read the report and saw the photographs. He agreed to
put Rupert's suggested plan into action immediately.

Whilst Clark was being whipped in Hertfordshire, the police were
surrounding the house that Hallsdown owned in Notting Hill. Rupert had told
the ACC how to access the house and where the abuse took place. The police
crept into the house without Hallsdown knowing and made their way down to
the basement. As soon as they were part way down the stairs they could hear

"He was caught in the act as it were" the ACC later told Rupert, "Our

aristocracy. Everyone made sure any connection they had with the man was

thought were friends no longer wished to know the man. His creditors chased

Meanwhile, he was kept in prison awaiting trial. When the case finally came
to hearing he admitted his guilt having seen the weight of evidence against
him. He had little money or resources to call upon to pay for a barrister
so had to rely on what the state provided. His Counsel was not that
thorough in his handling of the case and advised him to plead guilty. Even
so, the judge committed him to a long prison sentence in view of the
seriousness of the offence and his position in society.

Once in prison, he was abused mercilessly by the other inmates whilst the
prison guards looked the other way. He was regularly penetrated by all and
sundry and found life intolerable, as well as having a permanently sore
backside!

Some weeks later, he was found hanging in his cell. Nobody knew whether he
had committed suicide or had been strung up by fellow inmates. The prison
authorities made no real effort to find out the truth. He was buried in an
unmarked grave which was neglected by the few relations he had since they
too no longer wished to be associated with him.


When Rupert had obtained all this information, he sought out Daniel who he
found sitting by the lake in his usual spot. Daniel listened to all that
Rupert told him before saying anything.

"So the man is dead?" Daniel asked just to confirm his understanding.

"Yes" Rupert replied, "So you are finally free of him".

Daniel wept and wept whilst Rupert held him in his arms. Months of pent up
emotion was now being released.

"Thank you so much" Daniel finally managed to say between his sobs.

Rupert knew there was nothing more to say or do apart from comfort this
wonderful young man in his arms. He really was an Adonis and over the
months he had lived at Brylands both Rupert and John had fallen very much
in love with him.

Finally Daniel stopped crying and smiled, "I can now move forward and enjoy
life thanks to you and John; I will never forget what you have done until
my dying day".

Rupert kissed Daniel on the lips and they made their way back to the house
to find John.

That evening when they were all together at dinner, Rupert proposed a toast
"To Daniel; may he have a full and happy life with us at Brylands".

By now Ann and Isobel had heard why Daniel was living at Brylands and about
how he had been abused by Hallsdown so they were happy to have him join the
happy family. Rupert had also arranged for Daniel to work on the home farm
and from what the manager had told him, Daniel had become an invaluable
member of the team. Daniel loved the work and threw himself into
everything. His life had finally turned around. He never spoke to his
parents again or his brother but he did eventually make contact with his
sister who was delighted to hear he was doing well.


When Rupert and John had finally got into bed on the night of Rupert giving
Daniel the news about Hallsdown, Daniel knocked on their bedroom door and
walked in naked.

"May I join you" he asked tentatively.

"Of course you can Daniel" Rupert replied as he lifted the bed covers to
let him in to their bed.

For a while the three of them just lay naked beside each other but
eventually one thing led to another and they were soon engaged in some
