Suddenly Andy said, "That must be them. One of them looks just like you, but you're better looking." I punched him in the arm, and I still didn't see them, but I heard Jaden yell, "Dad!" Then I saw him. He was running toward me, leaving Bob behind. He grabbed me in a strong and sincere bear hug, and kissed me on the lips. My sons always did that to me without any embarrassment. By the time he let me go, Bob was standing beside him. My initial reaction was surprise. Jaden was at least 6'2" tall, and Bob was no more than 5'9". Mutt and Jeff, I thought. Jaden had played football in college and was strong and muscular. Bob was thin and solid, like me, but far from muscular. He had to be at least five years younger than Jaden, and he was nearly bald. Even Andy and I had full heads of hair. I swear Andy looked younger than Bob. Jaden turned to Bob and then to me. "This is my friend, Bob Harris," he said. "This is my dad, Harry," he said to Bob. I extended my hand and Bob shook it. His grip was firm. He held my grip in his for just the right amount of time. I hate when a guy holds your hand for too long a time or not long enough. Andy was standing beside me and before I could say anything, he held his hand out to Jaden, and said, "I'm your dad's friend, Andy Barone. The two of them shook hands, smiling at each other. I could tell they liked each other's physical appearance, at least. Then Andy shook Bob's hand. "Let's go to Baggage Claim," I suggested. On the way back to The Carriage House I explained to Jaden and Bob that Andy and I ate out a lot. Whenever we missed a meal at the facility we got a meal credit which we could use for guests. Although we intended to entertain them on the outside and show them `our town,' they could eat at home as much as they pleased, and it would be a freebie for them. I added that the food was excellent. The four of us helped get the luggage up to my apartment. I told everyone to bring everything into the guest bedroom so the boys could unpack. I asked them if they would like to shower and freshen up. They both nodded and I gave them towels and wash cloths. "Just one more thing. It's getting pretty late in the afternoon. Would you guys like to eat dinner here tonight or do you want to go out? Before you answer, we could eat in and still go out afterward," I suggested to them. Then the strangest thing happened. They looked at each other and nodded in assent, just as Andy and I had begun to do, reading our minds. Jaden answered, "We like the idea of eating in and going out afterward." "That's fine," I said. "I'll leave you two alone and go two doors down to Andy's so we can make our plans for tonight. When I got to Andy's apartment, I looked at him questioningly. "Well," I asked, "is your gaydar working?" He started to laugh. "They're as queer as a three dollar bill. In addition, they are definitely a couple. They each know what the other is thinking. If you want to be a really good father, give them your bedroom and you shack up with me." "Oh no, I can't." "You will. And another thing; let's take them to a gay bar after dinner and you can come out to them. I'll do a lot of hinting and help you out," Andy giggled. "Don't be so good to me," I moaned. At the same time I knew it had to be done, so I agreed. "Now go talk to them." Andy pushed me out of the apartment. When I arrived at my place, I could hear the shower running and obviously they were in there together. I wanted to leave, but decided to play it cool. I waited until I heard the water stop. Then I knocked on the door and told them that Andy and I had made plans for the evening, and that I needed to talk to them when they got out of the shower. They came out of the bathroom with towels wrapped around them, looking very, very embarrassed. I decided to relieve them of their misery quickly. "Look," I said, "It's obvious that you two are a couple. I don't want to encumber you in two small beds so I think you should take my king size bed and I'll shack up with Andy during your stay." Jaden was so shocked, he sucked in his gut as he gasped, and his towel dropped. It took a second or two for him to realize what had happened and to retrieve the towel. I am proud to say, my son is as well endowed as his father. "Daddy," he murmured. Jaden had become a little boy again calling me, daddy. "How did you know?" "I didn't. I'm really so naïve about these things, but I am getting better. Andy picked up on it and opened my eyes." Then I did something as impulsive as when I grabbed Andy's cock and balls that day at the beach. I blurted out, "You might as well know," I was almost screaming. I must have sounded hysterical. "Andy is gay and he and I are a couple." There was utter silence and I had time to realize what I had done. Nobody was more shocked than I. Before either of them could say anything I added, much more quietly, almost in a whisper, "We love each other very much. In fact, I can only hope that you two love each other as much." I collapsed on the sofa. My son and his lover stood over me gaping. Finally Jaden sat down on one side of me and put his arms around me. Then Bob sat on the other side of me not knowing what to do or say. I spoke first: "I loved your mother very much," I said to Jaden, "and I never cheated on her, ever, not with a woman or a man. I met Andy here on my very first day, and we became instant friends. Andy's partner of many, many years died a couple of years ago after a heart attack. I know that loneliness brought us together, but what we have found is true love. Nobody is more shocked than I am, son." "Dad, I'm speechless. I was going to come out to you on this trip, but I wanted to wait a couple of days until you had time to get to know what a great guy Bob is. Boy, you sure stole my thunder. I don't know what to say. Yes I do," he suddenly brightened. "I'll say to you what I hoped you would say to me. You are my father. I love you no matter what. It doesn't make one bit of difference." He held me tighter, and I said, "That goes for me too, double and in spades." We hugged each other tightly and then Jaden kissed me full on the lips. "Well, that's a relief, and what a shocker," Bob said and we all laughed. "I really had no intention of hitting you guys in the face with this," I apologized. "Andy and I were going to take you to our favorite hang out tonight. It's our own personal `Cheers' where everybody knows our name. Of course, it's a gay bar, and we were hoping you would take the hint, but now it's out in the open and I'm glad. "Hey, help me play a trick on him. He thinks I came over to tell you that I knew you were gay and to take my bedroom, but he won't know that you know about us. Play along with me. Pretend to think it was very thoughtful of us to take you to a gay bar, and if we meet friends, pretend to be surprised, but don't admit that you are taking any of his hints. Sometime during the evening, I'll come out to you, and you can react in whatever way you want." "That should be fun," Jaden said. "By the way, Dad, I really like Andy. It doesn't hurt either, that he's really hot." "Wait until you see him in a bathing suit," I said. "His chest looks like a wash board. Now wear a sport shirt and slacks to dinner here. After dinner you can change. Andy and I usually wear a tank top, shorts and sandals to the bar." Jaden laughed and said, "Dad, you are becoming so gay." "I don't know about that, son, but I can tell you that I am very, very happy. Knock on Andy's door when you are ready and remember, we know about you two, but you don't know about us." At dinner we introduced Tracy to Jaden and Bob. She recommended that we order the steak tonight and we all found it to be delicious. During the meal, several of our neighbors came over to meet Jaden. We had told them that I was expecting a visit from my son. Even the dribbler came over. After dinner, we showed the boys around the facility and they were both quite impressed. It was really way too early to go to Tropical Slaves, so we went to the Billiard Room and played pool for an hour or so. At last we went up to our apartments to change. The boys changed in my guest room where they had stowed their gear. I changed in my bedroom and Andy changed at his place. We met in the hallway and Andy flipped a coin to see who would drive. I was the designated driver tonight and agreed to one hard drink only, and it had to be early in the evening. Wearing tank tops and shorts really made a difference in how Jaden and Bob appeared. I hadn't realized how hot they both were. As usual, Andy just took my breath away. Andy sat next to me up front, and the boys sat in the rear. Every once in a while I glanced in the rear view mirror to see Jaden and Bob kissing. As we got closer to Tropical Slaves, Andy turned to face the boys and said, "We're going to a gay bar someone told us about. We figured you'd be comfortable there." Jaden should have been an actor instead of a lawyer. He answered Andy, oh so innocently, "That's so nice of you guys to think of us like that. But won't you two be terribly uncomfortable." Now it was Andy's turn to act. "It will be fine," he said. "We're too old for anyone to hit on us, and if we do we can pretend to be a couple so they will leave us alone." "Some of those predators won't care if you are coupled or not," Jaden informed Andy. "I can see you don't know much about gay men." I thought I'd crash the car. When we got to the street the bar was located on, I slowed down, pretending to look for it. "It should be here somewhere," I lied. "There it is," Andy said. "My friend said that there was a parking lot in the rear." I pretended to look for the entrance to the lot, and when I found it I went in and parked. By now I was enjoying this jest on Andy so much, I couldn't wait for someone to greet us with a hug and a kiss and for Jaden and Bob to question what was going on. We headed straight for the bar. "Since I'm only having one drink, this one's on me," I told everyone. Jaden and I waited at the bar while Andy and Bob went to find us a table near the piano. I already knew the Wednesday piano player, but apparently the Tuesday man was someone else. "Hi Harry," the bartender greeted me. Jaden laughed. I introduced him to the bartender. "It's too bad Andy wasn't here for my first shocked reaction," Jaden said. That got me laughing too. We each took two drinks and headed for the table. The piano player was playing a love song that Bob was particularly fond of and when we got there he stood up and kissed Jaden. I was so happy to see the love between these two men. We were sitting there for a few minutes when a perfect stranger came up to Andy and said, "Hi fella. You gonna sing for us Thursday night?" "Probably," Andy mumbled. "Does that guy know you?" this time Bob pretended to be perplexed. "He must have mistaken me for someone else," Andy shrugged his shoulders. He was enjoying the charade as well, wondering when the boys would get wise. The piano player kept playing really mushy love songs and Andy decided to take advantage of it. In full view of Bob and Jaden he took my hand and held it between his two. The two actors nudged each other and looked surprised. Andy was now more than pleased with his handiwork. Then the moment arrived that Andy was waiting for. He looked up to see Tom and Al headed our way. They were one third of our Wednesday dinner group. We both knew that we would meet friends here sooner or later. "Hey guys, what are you doing here on a Tuesday night? I thought you only came on Wednesdays and Thursdays." Al asked. Then Tom added, "And who are these two lovelies? Are you into twinkies now?" "No, you idiot," Andy said. "This is Jaden, Harry's son and his friend, Bob. Now apologize for calling two nearly middle age guys twinkies." "Well, they're twinkies to me, I might remind you," Tom said. He smiled at the boys and shook both their hands. Al did the same. "OK, we'll see you tomorrow," Al said. "Enjoy your company, Harry, and you two twinkies enjoy your stay." Before Jaden could say a word someone came up behind Andy. He was obviously very drunk, weaving all over the place. I didn't know him, but he put his arms around Andy so that they rested on Andy's chest. "Andy," he said, "I haven't seen you in ages. Where you been and how is old Danny?" Andy turned around and looked at the man in disgust. "Frankie," he said, "You're drunk as usual. Leave me alone." He pulled Frankie's arms off him and Frankie slithered away. Obviously it took a lot to insult him. With Frankie gone, Jaden decided that it was time to end the charade. He had been dying to kiss Andy all evening and tell him how happy he was to have him as a step father, but just then a waiter came over to ask if we wanted a second round. Andy ordered a repeat except for me. He ordered a coke for the designated driver. When the waiter left, Jaden said, "OK, enough bullshit. Which one of you is going to tell us what the fuck is going on here? It's obvious that you are no strangers in this place, and what's with you two and the hand holding?" Andy started to speak, but I stopped him. "No, love," I said to him. "Let me explain. "Jaden, Bob, I have something to confess. Andy has totally corrupted me. He's used some magic potion and turned me gay." Jaden laughed. "Nobody can turn you gay," he said. "Dad, you must be a latent homosexual." There it was. Confirmation! I am a latent homosexual. "You think so?" I asked. "Then I no longer have to blame you, darling," I said to Andy. "You see, it's not your fault. Oh that makes me so happy." In mock joy, I stood up and kissed Andy full on his lips pushing my tongue inside of him. He was shocked, but not too shocked to kiss me back. He looked at Jaden and asked, "Is this OK with you? Aren't you going to say something?" "Sure," he answered. "I don't think I could have a better step father or one so handsome." He too jumped up and smacked one on Andy's lips. "What about me?" Bob asked. "I'm family too.'' He also jumped up and kissed Andy and then me. "By the way," I informed Andy, "I told the boys about us back at Carriage House. We've been pulling your leg." "Why you old scamp," he said, "Nothing for you tonight." "Thank God," I said with my hand on my forehead, "I get a rest tonight." We all laughed. The piano player sensed the crowd getting more and more tanked and he stepped up the beat. The whole crowd, including us, started to sing along with him. Even Andy let himself go. His beautiful baritone could be heard above everybody, prompting Jaden to say to me, "He's a real find, Dad. He sings so beautifully. I sure hope he can cook." But he was out of his league when it came to Bob's voice. Bob had one of the most beautiful tenor voices I had ever heard. As the evening wore on, more and more of our friends passed our table and we introduced the boys to them. "Bob said, "This is truly a warm and friendly place. I can see why you like to come here." "Wednesday evening we have a standing date for dinner with two other couples," I said. "I am going to expand our table to eight for tomorrow. Then on Thursday evenings we come here for karaoke and Andy sings for me. Those are the only plans we have, so tell us if there is something special you'd like to do beyond that. Oh yes, at least one day, we'd like to take you to the nude gay beach. It's where I first let Andy know how I felt about him so it's a kind of sacred place for me." "Then that's a place we don't want to miss," Jaden said. "Oh," I said. "I must warn you about a game we play at the beach." To be continued...
