Unknown Chapter 3 When I got home, I had a new pair of glasses proudly worn on my face. Since I frew to be pretty attached to my old glasses, I decided to put it in the new case that came with the glasses I bought. I decided that I would put the poor thing somewhere safe. When i got home from the mall, I saw my mom's car parked in the driveway, and as usual, her parking was horrible. She was practically blocking the two-car driveway... So, I parked in front of the house. "Hi everybody. I'm home," I yelled when I got in the house. My mom was on the couch, still in her scrubs, watching some game show. She looked up at me and unsurprisingly said "Hey Jeffy. I like those new glasses. You look even more handsome." "Thanks mom. I guess I got my looks from you- only you," I said loudly before I kissed my mom on the cheek. My dad, in the kitchen, yelled "I heard that, kid. You might have gotten your looks from your mom, but you got your brains from me." "That coming from a construction worker..." my mom mumbled. "BUILDING CONTRACTOR!" my dad shrieked, his pride hurt. "I know honey, I know." my mom cooed. I shook my head and decided to get something to eat, before I did my homework. I walked in the kitchen and I saw my dad whacking away at something with a big-ass knife. I avoided him and got some left-overs out of the fridge. I heated it and enjoyed the simple meal while watching my dad getting getting tired from whacking away with the knife. "Kid, Jeffrey, make me proud okay? Don't do anything stupid like drugs, smoking, excess drinking. We love you and who you are. Okay. I got that out. I'll be going to the sofa now," my dad quickly said. The moment I heard that, I realized why he was whacking away with the knife. My mom put him up to this. One of her father-son bonding things. I smiled and applauded my dad's bravery. I finished up and went in my room to do my homework. I was reading something about physics, but it was to complicated to understand so I got bored and a bit drowsy. My thoughts began drifting toward that guy I met at the bookstore. I wondered about his assertiveness and the weird stuff he did. But the what I couldn't forget about Danny was his eyes. They were just so unforgettable- those eyes, those eyes of blue- deepest blue- reflecting light ever so lightly, creating an illusionary effect which was just captivating and hypnotic. One could jsut drown in their depths. I wish I could have seen him better... I was getting excited about meeting him again tomorrow at school. My thoughts began to digress to more exotic things. I began imagining lightly running my fingers over his soft face, feeling the texture of his skin, it's perfect complexion. My hand then began to run through his blonde hair, imaginning its silkiness and smoothness. All the while, I was still gazing at those eyes, which seemed to pull me in closer to him. I began to smell his faint scent, so faint, but somehow so intense that it was intoxicating. I was pulled in closer to him, my hand now behind his head. I could feel the heat radiating from his body, the electrical currents between us. His lips began to part invitingly. I was shaking in anticipation, anxiety, desire, excitement, fear, guilt, lust. Our lips were millimeters apart- I could feel the warm, moist breath on me. Our lips- "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JEFFY!" I shot up and I started to get dizzy. "You've been sleeping all this time?!" my mom interrogated. "Huh?" was all I could say. "We've been calling for you for half an hour now. It's already 7, and it's way past time for dinner," my mom said a little more calmly now. "Oh. I'll... be out," I said in a slurred speech. "Hurry up," was all she said when she turned to go out. I stood up from the floor. Yes, the floor. I usually do my homework lying on my stomach. It's more comfortable for me. I went out to the kitchen and my parent's were already almost finished with their plates. I sat down and began to eat the roasted chicken that was the plate in front of me. I was still recovering from the nap... and the dream... "So, honey. You wanna sleep with me tonight?" my mom asked my dad. "No, thanks, but I'll pass. You know we can't sleep with each other's snoring." my dad replied nonchalantly. "Oh, I see how it is. So you don't like to sleep with me anymore?! Fine. I guess I'll just have to look for somebody else who wants to sleep with me." mother said coldly. "WHAT!? You're kidding!" my dad said with incredulous face. I chuckled at them. They always did this. I had a playful family, and I considered myself lucky because of that. I wanted somebody I could do that with... Guilt swept upon me unmercifully. Somebody whom I could spend my life with... I shifted in my seat and quietly ate my food. My parents were talking about something and didn't notice my sudden change in deportment. "Jeffy. Did you manage to do any homework while asleep?" my mom asked softly, smapping me out of my mini-depression. "Huh?" I blurted. "Is everything okay Jeffrey?" my dad asked concernedly. "Yeah. I... just had some food stuck in my throat," I lied. I picked up my glass of juice and drank some to look more convincing. "Okay then. Oh, you're going to have to ride the bus to school tomorrow. Your dad and I are have to go into the city." my mom told me. "Why?" "Weren't you listening? We have to talk to our lawyer about that woman who hit us from behind last month." "Oh, right. Okay. No problem... but could't I just use your car? Or dad's?" "No. I'll be leaving extra early for the office, so your dad and I will just meet up at Attorney Stepps' at 7 AM." my mom replied. "Okay. How will I get home?" "Bus, since I'm going to work late, I have to leave late. Sorry," my dad said. I sighed but nodded in agreement. Great. The bus. It made like a million stops on the way to school. We finished our dinner and I went in my room to take a shower. I stripped all my clothes off and stepped into the stream of warm water. I quickly finished up since I still had to do my homework. By 10:00 I was finished with my homework. I was exhausted from the thinking. I flopped on the bed and tried to sleep. After a while, Danny cropped up in my otherwise blank mind. My eyes snapped open. This could not happen. I already felt guilty about subconsciously dreaming about him... I uselessly shook my head to try to get the thoughts out of my head. "I'm seriously screwed up!" I yelled inside my head, "Why the hell is this happening to me?! Is this some kind of punishment, God?!" I was frustrated. Here we go again. Another freaking stupid night of confusion, guilt, and anger. Why couldn't I just sleep normally, like every one else? One answer blinked in my head as I fell into an uncomfortable sleep: Because I'm different. I woke up the next morning to my cell phone's alarm going off. I moaned and looked at the time. It was only 6:00 and I wanted to sleep more, but the bus was coming at 6:20. I literally rolled off my bed and half-crawled my way to the bathroom. I pulled myself up to the counter and did my daily routine of dunking my head in cold water to wake me up. I brushed my teeth, my eyes half open. I finished doing my thing and walked into my closet and grabbed some things off the shelves, not knowing what they were. By the time I was in the kitchen pouring myself some milk and eating a cereal bar at the same time, it was already 6:15. I chugged the milk down and chomped on the cereal bar. I grabbed my backpack and ran out the door to the corner of the street to wait for the bus. The day was humid and foggy. I could feel the moisture clinging to my skin and suffocating my. The sky was gray and dull, a light fog hovering over the ground. I heard the yellow bus approaching. It stopped where I was and I got in. There were only one or two people in the bus, and they were asleep. I walked down to the end of the bus and sat down, ready to conform by sleeping like the others. I actually managed to drift off to a light sleep. I was woken up by something lightly rubbing against my cheek. I tried hitting whatever it was, but was unsuccessful. "Hey... stop..." I mumbled sleepily. "Hey sleepy head. How's my Jeff doing?" I slowly opened my eyes to see the familiar blue eyes and seductive smile that were Danny's. It was his hand that was actually caressing my face... *** Okay. Yup. Alright. Thanks for continuing to read. Comments/commentarios/commentaires/Questions/Preguntas/Points? haha g.rapeyls@gmail.com
