I asked walking out of my room and spinning around. I showed off in a pair of black corduroy pants and an orange button down shirt with black designs on it. "Oh honey, you've got to have a better looking shirt than that. You're not a pumpkin and Halloween is still months away. You want to impress Jeff with your gay fashion sense, not make him think you were trying to be straight." Michael said. We all laughed. "Hey! I bought him that shirt for his birthday." Aaron said. "I rest my case," Michael said. He stands up with his glass of wine and walks back upstairs to my room with me. "Let's see if we can find a more decent shirt." Walking into the closet he starts going through my wardrobe as I sat on the bed. "The pants are fine. They actually look cute on you." He said. "Here we go! And if you make one comment about me coming out of the closet I swear to God I will cut you and Jeff will never have to worry about giving you a blow job." I laughed so hard. "I wasn't thinking anything about you coming out of the closet. Besides, the doors on your closet came off with a bang." "Shit! When I came out of the womb they wrapped me in a rainbow flag." Michael said. "Language," DJ yelled from the living room. "I swear that little boy is part dog. He hears everything." He said. I laughed. "Here you go. This shirt would look great on you and go with your pants and shoes." I put on the royal blue shirt that had stripes of white, black, and sky blue in it. I looked at myself in the full length mirror. Walking back into the living room AJ and BJ whistled. "Wow! You look great," BJ said. "That shirt does look a lot better." AJ said. "What do you think little man?" I asked DJ. He paused his game and looked up at me. Smiling he said "Jeff will like you in that." I smiled. The doorbell rang. "Go to your bedroom and I'll let him in." Michael said pushing me towards my room. We all looked at him. He rolled his eyes at us. "You're gay sweetie. You have to make an entrance." We laughed. "Coming," Michael yelled towards the door. "Hey Jeff," I heard him say as I walked into my bedroom. "Hey guys," Jeff said to everyone. "Am I too early?" "No, CJ was just finishing up. Colin, your date is here." Brooke said. I walked back downstairs and into the living room. "Wow!" Jeff said with a grin. I smiled at him. He walked up to me with some flowers. "You look great! These are for you." "Thanks, so do you." I said kissing his cheek. Jeff was wearing a baby blue t-shirt under a black long sleeved button down shirt that he had pulled up his arm rather than buttoned and a pair of black khaki pants. His hazel eyes seemed brighter. I put the flowers in a vase with some water. "Are you ready to go?" He asked. "Yeah, let's go." I answered. "Have fun!" AJ and BJ said. "Don't do anything I would do," Michael said. "That doesn't leave us much to do," I said. He glared at me before laughing. "You're lucky DJ is right here." He said. Jeff and I laughed as we walked out the door. We walked through the casino as we laughed and talked. "Go ahead," Jeff said letting me walk up the spiral staircase first. I smiled. "Very nice," "What was that?" I asked turning around. Jeff blushed "nothing," he said. I grinned and shook my head. "Do you work out DJ?" I laughed. "So, you're checking out my ass huh?" "No I wasn't," he said blushing even more. "You're even cuter when you blush." I said. Jeff smiled at me. We walked up to the podium where the hostess stood. "Hi, do you have a reservation?" "Yes, the reservation is under Marshall." Jeff said. "Ah Jeff Marshall, reservation for two. Right this way Mr. Marshall." She said. "Thank you," He said. We followed the girl to our table. "Here you go. Hope you both enjoy your evening." "Thank you," Jeff and I said. The lighting in the restaurant was dimmed with candles burning on all the tables. It had a romantic ambiance with soft piano music playing in the background. "Good evening, I'm Neil, and I'll be your server tonight." The waiter said as he came over to get our drink orders. I ordered an espresso martini and Jeff ordered a pineapple martini. "Here try this," I said passing over my drink. "Wow! That would keep you up all night." He said. I laughed. "Nah not really," I said. He had me take a sip of his martini. "That's really good. It's sweet." "Yeah, this is really good." Jeff said. We both ordered the prime rib dinner. "How are things going for you here in Vegas now that you've been here for a couple months?" Jeff asked as we ate. "Pretty good actually, Michael has been showing me the nightlife here on the weekends." I said. "He's a good friend, one of my best friends actually. He can be a bitch at times but its part of his charm." "He seems like a good guy." Jeff said. I nodded. "You come from a close family," "Yeah I do. Mom and Dad are great and AJ, BJ, and I are really close. Of course there's also little DJ." "DJ seems closer to you than to AJ and BJ." "For some reason he is. It's probably the distance thing. I'm farther away then my brother and sister." I said. Jeff nodded. "Where's your family?" "Mom and Dad are here in Vegas. They live up in Anthem. Charlie, my older brother lives in Denver and Erica lives in San Diego." Jeff answered. As Jeff and I talked about our families he reached over and grabbed my hand. I smiled at him. Throughout dinner Jeff and I laughed and talked. There was such an ease between the two of us. He's got an amazing smile that's been directed at me. "Do you two have room for dessert?" Neil asked smiling at us. "Yeah, I wanted to try the chocolate cheesecake with raspberries." Jeff answered. "And I'll have the crème brulee." I said. "Very good choices, I'll be right back with your desserts." Neil said. "Excuse me Neil," I started. He turned around and walked back to the table. "Can I also get a glass of Muscat?" "I'll take one too," Jeff agreed. "Of course, I'll be right back with everything." "Thank you," Jeff and I said. Jeff and I shared our desserts with each other. "That cheesecake is very good." I said. "I really like the crème brulee." Jeff said. We sat and finished our wine as Neil cleared the dishes away. Jeff paid the bill and we headed over to the movie theater holding hands. "This is nice," Jeff said. "Yeah, you're a great date." I smiled. Jeff grinned. "It was the great company I had tonight." Jeff said. I blushed. At the box office we looked over the movies. "How about a horror movie," Jeff suggested. "Whatever you want to see," I said. "Do you like horror movies?" He asked. "They're okay." I answered. Jeff laughed. He got two tickets to The Grudge 2. "Do you want anything from the concession stand?" He asked. "Just a bottle of water," I said. "I'm still full from dinner." "But, part of the movie experience is having popcorn." Jeff said. He ordered a large bucket of popcorn along with our drinks. As we found a couple of seats and the movie started I felt anxious. Horror movies are not one of my favorite things. Give me a romantic comedy or a musical like Grease or Rent and I'm happy. A few times I hid my face in Jeff's shoulder as he laughed at me. I smiled and threw some popcorn at him. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder. With the movie over we headed back to the condos. "Did you have a good time tonight?" Jeff asked as we walked hand in hand back to my condo. "I had a great time with you." I said. "I want to do this again." "Good! I do too." He said. I smiled. Walking up the stairs we could hear loud laughing. I opened up the door. "Mom, Dad." I said surprised to see them. "Hi sweetie, how was your date?" Mom said. "Hello again Jeff," "Hello Mr. and Mrs. James," Jeff said shaking their hands. "It's good to see you again Jeff." Dad said. "What have you guys been doing tonight?" I asked. "Well, DJ was waiting for you and Jeff to get back." BJ answered as I looked at my little brother sleeping with his head in Dad's lap. "And they've been telling stories about you all growing up in Hawaii, while I told them stories about the last couple months." Michael said. "Would you two like a glass of wine?" Mom asked. "What'd you guys do on your date?" Dad asked. "Sure, thank you. We had dinner and went to see a movie." Jeff answered for us. "What movie did you guys see?" AJ asked. "We went to see The Grudge 2," Jeff answered. "What?" Everyone asked surprised. "You got my son to watch a horror movie?" Dad asked. Jeff laughed as I blushed. "The last horror movie we all saw together and only scary movie Colin ever watched was The Exorcist." Brooke laughed. "I asked him if it was okay with him and he said okay." Jeff said. "Wow!" AJ and BJ said. "Yeah, the crackwhore wouldn't watch The Grudge with me." Michael laughed. Mom handed Jeff and I a glass of wine. Dalton woke up looked at me then got up off of my dad and came over to fall asleep in my lap. "Did you have fun tonight Bubba?" DJ asked sleepily. I kissed his forehead and smiled. "I had a great time tonight little man." I answered. "Good," he said dozing off again. "Bubba?" Jeff and Michael questioned. The family laughed. "When Dalton was three we were watching Forest Gump and he loved Bubba. So, he ever since then started calling Colin Bubba and Colin calls him Forest." Mom said. Jeff and Michael laughed. "It's just nicknames that he and I use on each other." I smiled. "That's so sweet," Michael said. "Very cute," Jeff said. Jeff and I recounted our date for everyone. To be continued...
