Darrien and Eliah

Storms Ahead

Written By: Angyl

Off in a corner of the auditorium, a kid sat glaring at Eliah and Darrien. He hated them. He would see that they paid for what they did. He snuck out of the auditorium.

"You will both pay dearly." He stated, as he left the school.

Back in the auditorium, things had finally died down. Darrien and Eliah were unaware of the threat that had just been made. No one was.

As the auditorium emptied out, Darrien and Eliah both got some well wishes from the students. Some of the students thought their lifestyle was wrong, but what had been done was wrong. Darrien and Eliah both felt overwhelmed by the support from their fellow students.

The day passed quickly, and soon the end of the day was near. Darrien headed to his locker. A large crowd, including a teacher stood at his locker. He pushed through, and saw something that made his stomach turn. A dead crow had been placed on his locker, and a note below it. The note was plain and blunt.

Hey Freak,

Your kind doesn't belong here. This will be you I promise. You'll pay with your life.

Darrien felt really ill now. He leaned against the lockers. A girl he had never met before came and helped him.

"That is so sick," she said.

"Yeah," Darrien managed to get out.

"Why would someone do something like that?"

"I don't know."

A sort of fear crept over Darrien. Eliah had shown up, and was now standing beside him. Darrien started crying, and then without warning took off. Eliah ran after him, but by the time he got out the door, Darrien was gone. Jassen and Rick had seen them run out of the school, and followed. They all went to look for Darrien. They all met back in front of the school. They had not found him. A kid came up to them.

"Are you guys looking for Darrien?" He asked.

"Yeah what's it to you!" Eliah snapped back.

"It's a lot to me,"

"Why?" Jassen asked.

"He's my cousin, and he's at my place!"

"Can we see him?" Eliah asked.

"Yeah, mom sent me to get you."

They followed the kid to a house not too far from the school. While they were walking, ELiah struck up a conversation. He realized he didn't even know the kids name.

"So what's your name?" He asked.

"Mikal," He replied.

"How old are you?"

"15."

"Cool."

"Yeah cool."

Unbeknownst to the four boys a solitary person was following them, an evil smile creeping across his face. His plan was working perfectly. He would emotionally destroy one, and then both. Then he would kill them both, and anyone who tried to stop him.

He was unaware of the person following him. The four boys got to Mikal's Place. His mom was waiting at the door. She ushered them in.

"Which one of you is Eliah?" She asked.

"I am," he said, stepping forward.

"He keeps asking for you."

She leads him into the den. Curled up in a ball, still crying, was Darrien. Eliah went to him, and carefully took him in his arms.

Darrien grabbed on to Eliah. He held on tightly. Eliah looked at Darrien's aunt. She smiled and said she'd be in talking to the other boys if he needed anything. With that she left. The two boys sat and held on to each other.

Neither boy saw the guy in the window, staring at them, too shy to go knock at the door. He watched the two lovers, too scared to go up to the door. He had to talk to them. He was scared for them as well as himself. He knew what was going on. Finally he decided to go to the front door. He stood there, and was about to knock, when the door opened. Darrien's aunt stood at the door.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

"I-I need to speak with Darrien and Eliah," the boy nervously replied.

"I don't think it's a good idea right now."

The boy turned to leave, as Jassen came out of the den.

"Hey Billy, whets up?" he said.

Billy turned around.

"I came here to talk to Darrien and Eliah," he replied.

"Well I don't know if they are up to talking bud,"

"Please ask them?"

"Okay."

Jassen left Billy at the door, and went to where Darrien and Eliah were. He told them Billy was at the door and seemed really freaked. They told Jassen to go get him and bring him in. Darrien had finally calmed down and was now snuggling with Eliah. Darrien looked up as Billy came into the room. He sat down next to them.

"Guys I saw who did that to your locker," he said looking at Darrien.

"Who was the fucker?" Eliah asked.

"I am taking a big risk telling you this."

"Why do you say that?" Darrien asked.

"Because the guy said he'd come after me if I said anything."

"So why did you come here then?"

"I don't want to see anything happen to you two."

"Why?"

"You have given me the courage to come out."

"Come out, you're gay?"

"Yeah."

"So then who was it?" Rick asked.

"It was my brother."

"Did you say your brother?"

"Yeah, he blames you for everything."

"What do you mean by everything?"

"He said 'if it wasn't for those two fags, my bud wouldn't be in jail'."

"So what do we do?" Darrien asked Eliah.

"I don't know, we have to consider Billy here."

"I don't care what you do to the prick," Bill piped up.

"What about your safety."

"I want to help, so if it is a risk I don't care."

"Then we call the cops."

"I will testify as to what he said to me, if it helps." Billy said.

Billy was a little scared, but he knew it had to be done. His brother was loose cannon, which needed to be dealt with. Darrien and Eliah knew what was involved. They were scared, so was Billy. No one was willing to make the first move to call the police. It was finally Darrien's aunt that made the call.

An hour later, Billy's brother was arrested. He yelled threats at Billy, Darrien and Eliah. This was even better for the boys. As Billy's brother was put in the car, Billy yelled out that he was also gay. His brother shut right up.

Everyone sat around the room, after. Each was wondering what was going to happen next. Was this the end of their problems, or were there going to be more. None of them knew the answer to that question.

The end.
