There was a dewy softness in Vytas' eyes as he gazed deeply into Aras'. "Please forgive me, Aras," Vytas whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "I'd do anything for you. Anything at all. I love you so much, Little Brother." "I... I love you, too, Vytas," Aras whispered back. They stood together, lost in each other's eyes for a long time, the sound of the breeze blowing across their semi-clad bodies, both feeling closer than they had in years... both feeling sensations and emotions they'd thought long buried. "Aras..." Vytas whispered, his mouth moist and his lips soft. "Vytas," Aras responded, as they drew closer and closer... "There's something... I have to do..." Vytas said. "Do it," Aras said. "I...I..." Vytas stammered. With a soft sigh, he gently pulled away from Aras, running his hand across his close-cropped hair. "I need to take a shower," he said, a soft pink blush covering his face. "Like you said, morning comes early... best to be prepared." Without a backward glance, he stepped into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. Aras stood there, alone in the center of the hotel room, listening to the sounds of the water running. He felt lost. For a second there, it was almost as if Vytas was going to... No, Aras thought, shaking his head. Don't be ridiculous. He was just being Vytas. He slid the door open to the patio and walked out. The night sky was clear and Aras could see the stars. Different here than at home, but still comforting in their way. He felt the cool night air brush across his bare chest and a shiver ran down his spine. In spite of this, he could still feel the warmth of Vytas' hands on his cheek and he gently pressed his hand against his face and sighed. For as long as Aras could remember, he and Vytas had shared an unusual bond for brothers. He wondered if this was what it was like for twins. When Vytas had gone to prison, Aras had a hard time sleeping. It took him a while to realize it was because Vytas was so far away. He used to think these feelings were one-sided, but one night, after Vytas had gotten out and was working on his recovery, he shared with Aras that he, too, had restless nights away from his brother. Aras couldn't shake the odd emotions he'd felt as Vytas held him. In an instant, he felt safe, protected and cared for. He'd had many relationships over the years, but he'd never felt that way in someone else's arms. In fact, Aras realized, he had never felt much emotional connection to anyone aside from Vytas. He made him laugh, cry, rage and dance. He knew there would come a time when Vytas would meet someone permanent and they'd probably grow even further apart; the thought filled Aras with deep and profound sadness. Maybe these next 39 days would be a blessing in disguise. Even though he was sure the competition would bring out the worst in both of them, at the end of the day they'd still be together. That was something. Just then, a warm hand wrapped around Aras's forearm. He looked up to see that Vytas had come out on the patio. His brother stood before him, a towel wrapped low around his waist. The moonlight shone down on him, and once again Aras was filled with admiration for this brother's figure. His eyes lingered on the gentle slope of Vytas' defined chest, the way his abs flexed with his movement, the trail leading down into the knot of his towel. "You okay?" Vytas asked, his voice low and filled with concern. "Yeah." "Are we okay?" He asked, his grasp on Aras tightening slightly. "About... before, I mean." Aras nodded. "That was... intense." "It was," Vytas agreed. "But I'm glad we talked. It's been a while since we just kind of... cut through the bullshit, you know? And just... got to be us." "I was actually just thinking that exact same thing." He reached over and covered Vytas' hand with his own. "I really miss that... closeness." Vytas looked down at his brother's hand. Aras slowly began to gently caress the skin. Vytas inhaled slightly and bit his lip. "Aras... I just want you to know... I'm always going to be here for you. No matter what." "I know." "I hope you do." Aras felt a tingle in the pit of his stomach and he realized he was waiting for Vytas to hold him again. He felt this intense need to be close to him again, to feel his skin against his. But what was more startling was that the tingle didn't just stop in his belly... it continued downward. Aras began to feel a strange stirring in his shorts. His mind reeled. This was transcending brotherly affection. What was going on? Vytas seemed to sense it too, so he quickly withdrew his hand. "I need to shave." He gave Aras one more half-hearted smile and walked back into the room. Aras was filled with confusion. What were these strange feelings he was experiencing? It was like whenever Vytas walked into the room, he became another person. Vulerable... uncertain. He paced the patio for a few moments, trying to piece it all together. His mind raced back over the different encounters he'd had with his brother since they were teens. The lingering stares; the affectionate embraces, the raw ferocity when they'd wrestle... the deeply cutting words they'd use when they argued. What did it all add up to? And why did he find himself pre-occupied with Vytas' body? It's not like he'd never seen his brother's body before. They worked out together all the time. And yes, he'd taken an interest in Vytas' looks before, but it was always a purely competitive appreciation... wasn't it? Aras sighed and looked back into the hotel room. The bathroom door was ajar and warm steam began rolling out. Slowly, Aras walked toward the door. He felt his heartbeat growing faster again. As he drew near, he leaned against the wall adjacent to the door and let the steam roll over him. The sound of the running water soothed his nerves, and he closed his eyes. Counting to ten, he willed his racing heartbeat to slow. Finally, turning his head slowly, he looked through the door and saw his brother's reflection in the steamy mirror. Vytas was still wearing the towel, but he was leaned across the sink, his face covered in a thick layer of shaving cream. He was gently sliding the razor down one side of his face. Aras watched the razor slide and when he looked up, he saw Vytas had caught his stare. He gasped slightly, struggling to come up with an explanation for why he was spying on his brother, but before he could speak, he heard Vytas give a slight laugh. "It might be awhile before I can shave again," he chuckled. "I figured I'd better try and be as smooth as I can be. Thirty-nine days is a long time, don't you think?" Aras remained silent, still pressed against the wall. All he could do was nod. "I wish I'd brought my clippers," Vytas said, tapping the razor along the side of the sink. "I could probably use a little manscaping." His eyes never left Aras' as his hand gently rubbed the soft fur of his chest. "What do you think, bro?" "I... um... I think it... um..." Vytas smiled and gave Aras a wink. "I know what you're thinking." "You... you do?" "Yeah. You are wondering if what your old college friend said is still true." "What... what do you mean?" "What was it he said? You had the face, but I had the ass..." Vytas allowed his hand to slide down over this belly until it found the knot of the towel. With a flick of his wrist, the towel came loose and fell to the floor. Aras gasped as he gazed upon the backside of his brother's naked body. Vytas grinned as he flexed the muscles in his ass. "Well... Do I still win? What do you think of my ass now, little brother?" TO BE CONTINUED...
