Date: Tue, 06 Mar 2001 01:54:51 -0000 From: Nathan Wolf Subject: Blood Angel (Chapter 5) OK, here's part 5... now for everyone who ends up thinking that this chapter is way too corny, well it's your opinion... for the ones who end up liking it, ha, you just became my favorite people in the whole world. Thanx for support Colleen... and thanx David :0) OK, I was wondering, is someone really gonna sue me for this? Does someone actually think that I talk to BSB on regular basis and they tell me about their sex life? That's kind of ridiculous... and warning for ppl who are underage? What's up with that? I'm pretty sure that some of those underage ppl know more about sex then I do... and I don't even wanna talk about the ppl who might get offended... If you don't like it, then DON'T BE HERE! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robby's apartment was trashed... closets were turned over, blood from the fridge was taken out, packets spread over the floor... windows broken, every door ripped out of its hinges and weapons loaded in blood backpack. Mike stood in the middle of Robby's apartment, his face contorted in rage. He didn't really expect Robby to wait for him and calmly except the fact that he was about to die... but then, sometimes Robby seemed stupid enough to do something like that. Mike watched his gang rip the apartment apart, destroy it and erase every sign of Robby's existence from it. He hated Robby, he had always hated Robby... The Blood gang was his for almost two decades, and no one had ever dared to defy him... Robby did it the first day he joined. So many vampires started backing up Robby in everything, that Mike had to struggle to keep the control. But even worse than the struggle was the realization that Robby wasn't even trying to take Mike's place. Robby didn't seem to care about power... Mike never understood him, but he always hated him... he knew he will hate him in every life that comes and through the eternity... Derrick stood next to him, staring at the destroyed apartment with a blank look on his sunken face. He didn't say anything since Mike announced the hunt on Robby. If Mike didn't know him, he'd be convinced that Derrick didn't give a shit about what happens to Robby. But Mike knew him... Without even glancing at Derrick, he spoke softly: "I wonder who told Robby about attack on the club Midnight." Derrick didn't move or make a sound for couple of seconds, then he shrugged, his face carrying a perfect expression of boredom: "Robby is a smart guy... I bet he figured it out by himself." Anger inside Mike seemed to reach a boiling point... Derrick's face was perfectly calm without any trace of nervousness at all... Mike ground his teeth fighting an urge to kill him right there. He knew that Derrick told Robby... he also knew that humanity inside Derrick grew as he spent more time with Robby. Taking a deep breath, Mike tried to sound calm: "The person that warned him is probably in greater danger than Robby himself..." Derrick just shrugged tucking his hands in his pockets: "Sux for that person... this is getting pathetic, I have stuff to do. Call me if you guys actually end up doing anything useful." Turning around swiftly, Derrick walked out on Mike... Mike grabbed the chair standing next to him and shoved his fingers in it so hard that the wood cracked under his fingers. Robby will be the first to go... but Mike will make sure that Derrick suffers a long, long time before he is dead for the second time. Releasing his grip on the chair, Mike took a deep breath and calmed down. There was no use in getting the anger rule him, then nothing will really be accomplished. Taking another deep breath, Mike forced himself to think... where could Robby be hiding...? Couple of places popped in his mind, but somehow, he knew that Robby wasn't there... but if not there then... Wide grin split Mike's face in two: "Adam, Nikolai, John... you're coming with me... our pray is waiting." Adam, an extremely tall guy with chestnut colored hair and large deep brown eyes, seemed hesitant about following: "Are you sure you know where Robby is?" Mike's smile seemed even wider while his eyes shone with unnatural hunger: "He's at 130 Samoset Street, downtown... a place where he grew up. Place where he died, and ironically a place where he will die for the second time." Under Mike's eyes, all three guys quickly left the apartment... Mike was satisfied. It was going to be a successful hunt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brian finally got up from the bed, as the sun was sinking behind the far hills. He hadn't seen Robby once since the last conversation they had, and Brian still could not figure out what he said wrong. Walking slowly into the kitchen, he kept sneezing and coughing from all the dust gathered in the hallway. There was some Chinese food on the table, a small cheese pizza, and two bottles, one filled with water, and the other one with coke. Grabbing a slice of pizza and the coke bottle, Brian returned to his room and ate there staring at the walls. He wondered if he should try finding Robby and talking to him... but remembering the coldness of Robby's voice and his harsh tone, Brian decided to just keep still. After eating, he didn't want to lay back on the bed again. He had too much energy to be laying around the whole day. Instead, he walked around the room trying to figure out whom did the house belong to before Robby started using it. There was no pictures on the walls and nothing showed that anyone had ever really lived there. Stopping in front of the large closet, Brian hesitated. It wouldn't be right to dig through someone else's life and belongings. But then again, the house seemed abandoned, so he really was not invading anybody's privacy. Opening the closet, he found empty hangers and a lot of dust. But at the bottom, in dusty corner covered with spider web, he discovered a shoebox... it was black and small, as if it had held shoes for a 10-year old. Pulling it out, Brian gently cleaned the dust covering it, then took the top part off. The shoebox was full of papers and pictures, so many of them that Brian had to wonder how they managed to fit into a barely foot long box. Carefully pulling the papers out, the thick stack of pictures caught his attention. Sliding off the elastic that held them together, Brian studied the top picture for couple of minutes. It showed a fairly young man in suit, and his beautiful bride next to him, her charming smile even more breathtaking than the rich wedding dress she was wearing. The next picture showed the same couple, maybe ten years older with a small boy sitting on the mans lap. The next picture showed older couples... grandparents Brian supposed... Then there was a picture of that same boy, just ten or fifteen years older... Brian had a hard time breathing... it was Robby. The boy was Robby... this was his house, he lived here... before he died... The next picture showed a line of people in black attending a funeral. Robby was one of them, and his father too... his mother was nowhere in sight. The next picture showed his mother though... she was the one laying peacefully in the hard wooden coffin... she looked like an angel... The door opened and Robby walked into the room: "Brian, it's time to take you back..." His voice trailed off as he saw Brian with a stack of pictures in his hands. Brian hurriedly put the pictures down: "I didn't mean to..." Storming right past him, Robby grabbed the shoebox with pictures and threw it inside the closet, shutting it so hard that it echoed the room. His face was tight, and his voice could have frozen Africa to the bone: "You had no right!!!... No right!... That was my life!!..." Brian felt tears well up in his eyes... he didn't mean to hurt Robby; that was the last thing he would ever do intentionally. Still on his knees in front of the closet, Brian looked up at Robby's cold eyes and softly said: "I didn't know... I'm sorry. I just... I want to know more about you... you saved my life twice. I didn't know what I said or did to offend you... but I apologize anyway... I just want to get to know you... I want to be your friend." At that point, Brian's eyes were already full of tears and he was fighting them with all his strength; he didn't want to cry in front of Robby. He couldn't understand what was happening to him. He just met this man... a man who was also a vampire, and already he couldn't see his life going on without him. It was crazy... it was ridiculous... but the warmth spreading through his body every time he looked at Robby was real. Need to feel his warm hands again was real... The thought of never seeing Robby again triggered the tears, and they spilled down his cheeks, making his face glisten in the weak light of candles... Staring at the ground, Brian kept furiously rubbing his eyes and trying to stop the tears from running down his face. While he was still swallowing the sobs that welled up in his throat, he felt someone's hands embrace him tightly. Looking up at Robby's eyes, Brian could see the cold mask melt away from Robby's face. Without hesitating, Brian returned the embrace, burying his face deep into Robby's shoulder. Robby's hands held him tight, but they were gentler than anything Brian had ever felt... in Robby's arms he felt so safe... so protected from everything. Brian wasn't sure how long he spent in Robby's embrace... his tears had dried at what seemed hours ago... he would have spent the whole eternity just holding him... and he would not wish for anything else. Robby was in trance... he had used all of his strength to keep his hands from shaking. He had dreamed of holding Brian in his arms... dreamed of embracing him tightly and feeling Brian's body against his. All those dreams seemed real... but they could never compare... He was holding Brian in his arms... and Brian's beautiful face was resting on his shoulder... Robby's heart beat like wild, and it was so loud that he was convinced Brian would be able to hear it. But if he did, Brian gave no sign of it. He seemed to be holding on to Robby like he has no intention to let him go, and Robby held him just as tight, pulling his fingers through singer's soft brownish hair. Robby didn't understand what happened... he didn't understand why Brian started crying, but he felt like it was all his fault. Hugging Brian was never in plan... ever... but it happened. And now, he held the most beautiful creature on earth in his hands, and he had no clue what to do next. Brian was in love with Nick... he said that himself. Then why... why was he holding on to Robby like he never wants to let go? Robby felt like screaming... he had Brian in his hands... but he couldn't do anything but hold him... Brian lifted his head as if he read Robby's mind. They were still embracing each other... Robby's hand was still smoothing Brian's hair... and Brian's hands were still wrapped around Robby's neck... their eyes met and the time seemed to stop. Robby's heart beat in his ears and he felt like his whole body was shaken by warm waves... waves that made his mouth turn dry and his hands shake... it seemed like Brian's eyes hypnotized him and he couldn't have moved even if he wanted to. Brian's face moved closer to his... closer... closer... The door shot open, and Adam threw himself on Brian and Robby with two hunting knives swirling in his fingers. Throwing Brian aside, Robby leaned on his back and shoving his feet into Adams stomach, sent him flying into the wall. He barely had the time to pull a blade out of his right boot... John was rushing at him, his face wild and distorted... Robby swiftly jumped to his feet turning his back to Brian. He intended to protect him at any cost. John threw himself at Robby, and Robby smoothly moved aside as if he's letting John run into Brian. Then he pushed his blade deep into John's chest. Loud shriek echoed the room and John slowly turned to dust. Robby stepped towards Brian, to protect him, to get him out of there... but the piercing bang pushed him against the wall. Sharp pain in his leg made him lose his balance and he slid to the floor. Adam, still sitting where Robby threw him, had pulled a gun and shot aimlessly. When he saw that he had shot Robby, he straightened up and shot again, and again, and again... he didn't even notice Brian pick up one of the knives that Adam had dropped. Without any hesitation, Brian threw himself at Adam and pushed the knife through his heart. Another scream echoed the walls, and Adam was gone. Kneeling next to Robby, Brian felt panic take over his body. He took Robby's head slowly and put it on his lap. He was on the edge of hysteria... his body shook uncontrollably. He felt scream well up in his throat, but instead, he spoke in harsh, cracked voice: "Robby?... Robby!... please! Robby, look at me... Oh God please, don't die... Robby!!..." Robby's eyes opened and he slowly extended his hand to touch Brian's cheek, wincing with every move: "Brian... run, please... Mike is probably already here..." Brian felt new waterfall of tears slide down his face. Leave him? Brian would rather die next to him than leave... Robby slowly pulled another blade from his left sleeve and pressed it in Brian's hand: "Take this... and ...go..." Brian took the blade, but he gripped Robby's hand and whispered: "I'm not leaving you... you saved my life, now it's my turn." Just as he was finishing the sentence, Nikolai entered the room. Nikolai was middle height, brown hair, and face that would never be noticed in a crowd... he was carrying sword breaker in each hand and moved with a grace of tiger. Behind him, Mike stepped into the room, with his hands in the pockets and a small smile on his lips; a winning smile. Nikolai's face was twisted into a blood-hungry, distorted face of a tiger... and he moved smoothly across the floor as if he flowing across it. Brian wasn't afraid any more... he was angry... he was angry enough to kill. They were after Robby just because he saved Brian's life... Brian was determined to die before he lets them reach Robby. Preparing to fight Nikolai, Brian suddenly felt something... like a fire flowing into his body... strength and power... he seemed to be one with the floor, one with the blade, one with everything around him... Dazed, he glanced at Robby... Robby smiled slightly... and then Nikolai attacked. Sword breakers struck the blade... Brian moved swiftly, his blade ripping the Nikolai's black trench coat... Nikolai growled and attacked with all his strength... sparks flew every time sword breakers struck the slender blade, but Brian seemed untouchable. Nikolai attacked again, trying to push through Brian to get to Robby, but Brian avoided the hits with ease, and blocking the sword breakers with his blade, gave Nikolai a hard kick in the crotch. When Nikolai bent over, Brian's blade easily slid into his chest... he made no sound as his body proceeded to fall to the floor... but before he touched it, he turned to dust. Brian turned around to face Mike, but Mike was gone. Running back to Robby, he bent and picked him up like a small child. Robby seemed better but Brian doubted that he could walk. Touching Brian's cheek again, Robby whispered in cracked voice: "They'll be back soon... Mike probably called a hunt after me... you'll be in danger... you should leave me..." Brian shushed him as he was carrying him out of the house: "Don't talk... save your strength." Surprisingly enough, the car was still parked in front. Laying Brain across the back seat, Brian had the weirdest case of deja-vu, but dismissed it quickly while he was getting into the front. Stepping on the gas, Brian asked over his shoulder: "Is there anywhere else we can go?" Robby's voice sounded pained, as if he had to fight his wounds in order to speak: "No... wait... there is someone... just keep driving... until we leave the town behind us..." Brian was still partly in daze... everything that happened seemed like a really bad dream. But it wasn't a dream, and Robby was hurt: "How badly hurt are you? Is there anything I can do...? You are gonna be ok, right?" Brian felt Robby's hand squeeze his shoulder, and he desperately fought with the urge to press his lips against that hand. Robby's voice seemed worse every time he spoke: "I'll be ok... they haven't invented a bullet yet that could kill me..." He made an attempt to laugh, but it came out harsh and interrupted by heavy hacking. Taking his hand off the wheel to grip Robby's, Brian's face hardened. He will save Robby... if it cost him his life he will save him. And nothing would stop him. OK, well, comments! Too corny or just perfect? Any ideas what should happen next? Colleen, I have to ask you something about the next chapter... thanx for support I want comments!! Good or bad send them my way!
