I am not implying that any of the poeple mentioned within are gay or that any of the situations are real. I have no connections with Westlife or Ronan Keating! Chapter One Sligo, Ireland... "Our next track goes out to Sophia from Galway, it's Ronan Keating with 'Life is a roller coaster'..." Shane jumped out of his chair and leaped across to the radio turning the volume high. Ronan's voice echoed in the small room, Shane's thin lips formed into a smile, he could hear him from all directions. As the song continued to play, Shane gradually slipped into a nostalgic phase, remembering the start of his relationship with Ronan. If there was one thing that really spoilt it, it was Yvonne, Ronan's wife. It made Shane feel so guilty to know that he would be the cause of a possible divorce. But guilty is not all that he felt, he felt jealous too, jealous of the fact that whatever happens between them, at the end of the day Ronan will return home to Yvonne. London, England... Ronan took a cold shower in an attempt to clear his head. However once he had dried himself and got into bed, the thoughts began spinning around in his head once again. He couldn't bare it any longer; he didn't know what to do. He had to make a decision now, before things got out of hand. But what was the right decision? He was a married man and a father, it was blatantly obvious what the right choice was, but then why couldn't accept that, why did his heart say otherwise? He loved his wife, but he loved Shane too. Even though it was only three months, he did love him; in fact sometimes he felt more in love with Shane than Yvonne. Shane was so special to him he was perfect. However hard he tried he couldn't find a fault with anything that Shane did, and to Ronan that was love, that was the kind of love that you could only feel for one person, and that was the kind of love he felt for Shane. But for the sake of his children, for the sake of his career, for the sake of Shane's career, he knew what he had to do... The following day, Sligo, Ireland... "Come on Kian, how long?" Shane asked impatiently. "Just a sec" Kian replied "I'll wait in the car," said Shane, sighing exasperatedly. Two minutes later, Kian climbed into the passenger seat; he was still shutting the door, when Shane drove off. "You're in a hurry" Kian commented. Shane just smiled and continued driving quietly, but at a very high speed. He was so eager to get to Dublin, Ronan was returning from London too. He couldn't wait, after two weeks they would finally be together again. "Shane!" Kian screamed. Shane was jerked out of his daydream realising what had happened, he had missed a herd of sheep by a mere fraction. "Stupid sheep" he cursed. Kian looked at him "Do you want me to drive?" he asked. "It's okay, I'll drive" "Try not to kill anything on the way, okay? There's a good boy" Kian joked. Dublin, Ireland... Nicky and Kian were playing cards, huddled around the big fire in the old Dublin mansion that they were sharing. "You're cheating" Kian complained. "I'm not! Prove it" replied Nicky, giggling. "I'll show you," said Kian, punching Nicky playfully. "You asked for it" Nicky grabbed Kian in a headlock and before long the pair were involved in a hilarious play-fight. Rolling around the floor like five year-olds. Shane watched them and smiled, 'they look so cute together' he thought, he wondered whether there was anything behind these play-fights. But he dismissed the thought immediately. Nicky whistled "where are you going?" he asked, straightening his long hair after the little tussle with Kian. "Just out" replied Shane, taking another glance at the clock, he had been ready for ages, in anticipation for his 'date' with Ronan. "Who's the lucky girl?" Nicky pried. "No one" said Shane, agitated. He grabbed his keys and got ready to leave. "Where's Kian?" he asked, he hadn't noticed him leaving. "He said he had to make a call" replied Nicky, losing interest in the conversation. "Okay I'm off," said Shane, as he disappeared out of the door. Ronan paced up and down the room, he wanted to get 'it' over and done with as soon as possible. But at the same time he wished that the moment never arrived, he didn't want to do this, he wanted Shane. But the voice of reason in his head was quick to remind him of what was at stake. The knock on the door made him jump, he quickly moved across and opened it. Shane lept through the door, and they both stood facing each other for a few silent seconds. Then Shane wrapped his arms around Ronan and pulled him close, kissing him passionately. Ronan kissed him back, desperately, he had missed him soo much, he had ached for his touch, and now that they were finally together, he couldn't stop himself. He momentarily forgot what he had to say. "Oh I missed you so much" Shane whispered, finally breaking the long, hungry kiss. "I missed you too" said Ronan, smiling weakly. "You know what else I missed?" asked Shane, with a cheeky grin on his face. "What's that?" "This" he whispered, nibbling Ronan's neck, he moved his hands down Ronan's back, while his lips traced soft kisses along the smooth surface of Ronan's neck. Ronan tensed up determined not to give in. But it was too late, his mind was already influenced by Shane's tender touch, his body had given in to the temptation. He closed his eyes as Shane began to undress him... Comments/Criticism welcome irishfireuk@yahoo.co.uk more stories @ www.irishfire.cjb.net
