If you do not like it then don't read it. `NSYNC-Brush with Fame There I was, standing in the third row from the stage at the Boys of Summer tour. A prime tour featuring Five, Jordan Knight, and `NSYNC. My friends and I looked pretty out of place among these preteen teenyboppers who must have left their diapers home for one night in order to look chic for the guys up on stage. I was standing there with my four closest friends: Katrina (everyone calls her Kat.because she can be a major p*ssy sometimes), Stellara (my "best" friend.we basically grew up together), Jane (the down to earth, sane member of our clique), and, the most out of place of them all, Skyler (who was only there because he was Kat's boyfriend). I, being the biggest pop fan among the group, began to cheer when the music began to play. "Could you be anymore excited River," Stellara questioned in a seemingly joking but annoyed manner. (The truth is, I was the reason why they all came out that night. I was the reason they each paid fifty bucks to stand this close. But they each knew deep down, except for Skyler, that they wanted to come.) I just punched her on the arm and went back to dancing. "DICK," was all she retorted with. I laughed. Backstage... `NSYNC's stage manager paced the prep area while the guys warmed up. "It's a big turn out guys, don't let me down." Most of them paid no attention to him and went on with what they were doing. Out of courtesy JC walked over to his manager and said, "Don't worry about it, it will go fine." Steve, the stage manager, shrugged and let out a sigh. He then proceeded to the backstage area without a word of luck to the guys. "I wonder what's eatin him," JC questioned. "Don't worry about it dude, he always gets up tight before a big show," Justin remarked trying to ease JC's mind. I hope so, JC thought to himself, I hope so. After standing through Jordan Knight and Five we were getting pretty tired and not to mention thirsty. But to leave our seats would mean to never get those seats back. So we stayed, even through the constant nagging of Skyler. We began to converse amongst ourselves until the lights faded. The crowd began to go wild. And it began.'NSYNC's kick ass show. I was enraptured the whole time. I don't know why I liked them so much. I was a big alternative fan but it was something about them that I just couldn't explain. During the show I had to knock out a few teenyboppers who tried to climb up my six-foot body to get a better look. My friends were getting a big kick out of me trying to ward of those midget fans. It was kind of hard to hear the music through all their screams so I had to concentrate even more. But it was truly worth it. I loved those dance beats and those wicked dance moves. I swear they were contagious. Then it ended and it was time to go.So go we went. After a thirty-minute struggle to get to our car it took another hour just to leave the parking lot of the arena. Backstage after the show... "Did you guys notice that group of teenagers in the third row," Justin questioned. "You mean the three girls and two guys," Joey responded. "Yeah. They sure did look out of place," Lance added. "Word. But don't you wish all of our fans were that age.Our age," Justin said. Chris merely shrugged his shoulders and commented, " Well we can't complain. Those little girls pay our bills." "He's right," JC sad with a nod. At that moment Steve walked in and told the guys they had five minutes to get everything in order because they had to get on the road. The guys responded by running around frantically trying to get everything in order. They were soon on their way to the next venue. We drove out of the parking lot and made our way onto the freeway. We blasted some punk CD Skyler had brought along to get us out of the `NSNYC frame of mind. It was starting to work. There we were, five teens in a brand new convertible, with the blowing through our hair and the tunes blasting. We looked so cool. "This rocks you guys," Kat yelled out. "You got it," Jane said from behind the wheel. "That concert was mad cool and now that I mention it, this whole day has been cool," I said. Stell just looked at me and nodded. We had an unspoken language. "Word," Skyler finally commented. We drove for about another fifteen minutes and suddenly the car hit something in the rode. "SHIT!" Was pretty much all that we said. Flames soon began to rise from under the hood. Jane began to panic and braked instantly, causing the car to skid off the road and onto the shoulder. We were luck that we didn't flip. Jane parked the car, popped the hood, and ordered everyone out of the car. "What am I going to tell my parents," she cried. "Jane, don't worry about it. The will completely understand. And what does it matter anyway. You're rich," Stellara just had to add that rich part in there after she calmed Jane down. "But how are we gonna get back," Kat questioned. "Who has their phone," I asked. "Not me," Stell said. "Me either," Skyler responded. "I don't have one," Kat said. "I forgot mine.umm.That leaves you Jane. Please tell me you brought it," I begged. "YES! It's in my glove compartment.Let me go get it," She said as she made her way to hr car. But as she got closer to her vehicle all we heard was BOOM! She was thrown back a little but her car was completely on fire now. "Just fuckin great," she yelled. We all ran toward her to see if she was okay. She was. But we were stranded. On the bus... "Hey you guys! Look at that," Chris said excitedly as he pointed out the window. "Oh shit, that car is on fire," Lance exclaimed. "And those kids are stuck there.Let's help them.Joey go tell the driver to pull over," JC ordered. Joey went up front and talked to the driver. As the bus approached the wreckage it began to slow. We all were pretty shocked when a hug bus pulled over next to our little disaster area. When it stopped the door opened and some guy popped his head out of the window and said, "Hop in before you get hurt." I ushered everyone in and the door closed behind me. I looked up to thank our hosts for picking us up and was staring right into the face of the Justin Timberlake. "Umm." was all I could muster. "Wow.'NSYNC picked us up," Kat exclaimed. "We're all big fans, we were just driving back from your show," Stellara said calm as a pickle. "That's where I recognized your faces from," Justin said, " Third row, right?" "Yep," Jane answered. "Umm," was all I still could say. "You have to excuse him.He gets a little star struck around celebrities," Skyler responded. I blushed. Everyone laughed. This caused me to blush even harder. Which of course caused everyone to laugh even harder. I was so embarrassed. But I eventually started to laugh along with them. "Okay," I said, "Now that I'm done making a fool of myself, allow me to introduce myself. My name is River. This is Stellara, Jane, Katrina, call her Kat, and this is Skyler. And thanks for saving us from that exploding car from hell." Everyone was pretty stunned at my sudden outburst of collectiveness. JC stepped forward and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you River," he said, " and you Jane, and Stellara, and Kat, and Skyler. I'm JC. This is Lance, Joey, Chris, and Justin." We all stepped forward and shook hands. I shook Justin's hand last. He looked at me and kinda laughed. I returned the laugh. "I'm not gonna space out this time," I whispered to him. He nodded and smiled back at me. At this point the drive looked back into the bus and asked where he would be taking us. We all conferred and gave him directions to Kat's house since it was the closest. From there we would all get a ride home. "Don't worry about it," Lance said, "We can take each of you home." The other guys agreed. I would be last to take home because my house was the farthest. The bus rolled on to Kat's street and parked beside her house. She said her good-byes to everyone and got off quickly followed by Skyler who was going to chill at her house for a while. The guys said bye and the bus began to move. We came next to Jane's house and while she was getting off Stellara decided she was going to sleep at Jane's. They all exchanged farewells. Stellara came up to me and gave me a hug. She then gave me a look; I was kinda confused at first and then just nodded. She exited and the bus made its way to my house. "Is she your girlfriend," Justin asked. "Who? Stell," I asked, he nodded, "Naw guy, she's my best friend. Since we were tikes." "Oh." That was all I got. We pulled out onto my secluded street. My house was the only one on my newly built block. It was pretty big. My parents were big wig partners in some in some corporations. Plastic forks I think. I told the driver to stop. The guys looked out at my house and just stared. "That's your house," Chris asked. "My family's house," I answered, "But most of the time I consider it mine seeing as though my parents are hardly ever home." They all nodded. "Would you guys like to come in for a bit," I asked. "We really should be getting back on the road.Schedule and all," JC said. "Aww come on.Live a little.Let me repay you for saving us," I pleaded. "Well we could use somewhere to stay for the night," Lance said, " I really don't like motels." "You got it," I replied excitedly, " This house does have eight bedrooms. I'd be glad to accommodate you." "Let me talk to the driver," Joey said as he got up to the front. He soon returned and said, "It's a go. He said he'd rather stay in here and watch the bus. He'll call management and tell them where we're at." "Great," I yelped, "Now let's get inside." I pulled them all inside and gave them a quick tour. We have to stop once in a while because Chris would get distracted by some art piece and begin to play with it. I stopped the tour in the main living area and told everyone to sit and watch the tellie. "That's the biggest TV I have ever seen," Chris said in an awelike manner. I nodded. "My parents are that spending type. Never really rubbed off on me. Anyone hungry?" I got hell yas from everybody nd asked if pizza would be okay. They agreed. I called the delivery place and ordered a shit load of pizzas. While we waited the guys explored more and soon found the swimming pool. They all decided to go swimming except for Justin and me. As they left I decided that it was probably time to feed the nicotine rush that was phening inside of me s I stepped outside into the windy night and lit up. "You really shouldn't do that, it's bad for you," Justin said as he stepped out onto the veranda. "I know but it calms me down, and I'm addicted," I said in a halfway defense. "Have you ever smoked," I asked. "Nope. Never had the chance. And management keeps us away from it," he replied. "Well then take a drag," I offered it to him. "I really shouldn't.But.I will," He said as he took the lit cig. From me and held it against his lips. He inhaled and began to cough horribly. He kinda lost his balance and I caught him. "Not so bad huh," I said with a little laugh. "Haha.I'll get it one of these days," he said. He just stayed there in my arms and looked up at me. I was lost in his eyes. I kept wondering what was going on in my head. I'd never had feelings like that. At least not for another guy. He smiled. I had to smile back. He started to lift himself up, and when he did he pulled me in. His lips against mine felt divine. I was so confused, but I kissed back. I finally pulled away and looked at him. He smiled back at me with those eyes. I laughed. Helped him back on his feet and retrieved my cigarette. He walked back inside. I stood there.Dumbfounded. Justin Timberlake just kissed me. That's it for right now. Sorry there was no sex in this chapter, I had to get the story going. I you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to e-mail me at groundwriter@hotmail.com.
