Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 15:56:15 +0800 From: LHW Subject: The BSB NSYNC Chronicles Chapter 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an entirely fictional story (as if you couldn't guess) and is not intended to imply anything about the sexuality of the members of NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys and none of these events actually happened in real life. Also, the characters "Hercules", "Iolaus", "Lilith" and "Jason" are copyrighted to the show "Young Hercules" and all other companies associated with the show. This story has hints of homosexual content but will move slowly in that area because of the storyline. Comments and suggestions are welcomed and should be sent to ensstyenlc@hotmail.com If you are 18 or older, you may proceed to read the story. If you are under 18 years of age, shouldn't you be studying or at least at a Pokemon website rather than here? ;-) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my first time writing for Nifty and I'm very nervous about the whole thing. I hope this goes well...(I hope that my "American" spelling is good because I'm not used to spelling colour as color but that's life.) I would like to thank Nifty for letting me put my work on their site. Also to all the authors (both from Nifty and from actual books) who have inspired me. To the authors at Nifty, I hope to get to know you guys better. And to those people from the MUD Realms of Despair, if any of you guys see your characters' names here, don't worry about it...I just picked carefully chosen, random names. Especially to Estel, don't get pissed for me making your character the main character...my nephandi is not as cool as your mage and since I know you (but I'm not telling you who my character is. Guess away! That's if you're reading this, that is), I decided to thank you for all your help by using your name in my story. I'm a great friend, huh? And to those reading this story, thank you for choosing to read this story. I'll do my best not to let you down. Now let's start the story, shall we? ___________________________________________________________________________ |The BSB NSYNC Chronicles - Chapter One| The mall was unusually crowded that day. It was rumored that certain celebrities were at the mall that day, namely boybands *N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. Fans filled the mall, hoping to spot the elusive celebrities. Every store was filled with girls waiting to see if their favourite singer would appear in the store to buy something. Well almost every store. Justin glanced around the strange, medieval-themed store for something that interested him. His Aquarius nature screamed at him to buy something. He looked at his friends in the store with him. AJ looked bored and kept making funny remarks at the items on sale with Chris. Kevin stood at a corner, conversing with JC and Howie. Fellow Aquarians Nick and Joey pointed at and examined everything with barely contained interest. Lance was looking at swords and daggers for his collection. Brian just looked lost. Justin thought it was a good idea to have hidden in a store like this. No fan would think of looking for them here. Kevin looked at his watch and said, "Hey y'all! We have to get back to the hotel soon. It's almost dinner time." "Are the fans gone yet?" Brian asked. Kevin shook his head. AJ groaned loudly. "How do we get out then?" JC said in an exasperated voice. " I don't want to wait in this store any longer." "It was kind of Annie to let us hide in here," Justin remarked, referring to the shop owner at the counter. "We should each buy something in return for her kindness. It doesn't have to be expensive." "I'll buy anything, especially if that means I can get out of here," Howie grumbled. He glanced around the store and picked up a small quartz crystal. AJ grabbed a crystal unicorn from a shelf, thinking that it would make a nice present for his girlfriend, Amanda. Kevin sighed and picked up a packet of herbs labeled "Headache Tea" on it. I really could use this, Kevin thought. He followed his friends to the counter to pay for the items. Justin still looked around the shop, trying to decide what he should buy. Everything there was so interesting that he wondered if he should buy one of everything and get in trouble with Management. "Justin! Hurry and get your ass out of there already!" JC shouted from outside the shop. Justin sighed and quickly grabbed a large, leather-bound journal-like book and paid for it. Annie put it into a plastic bag and smiled at him. "I hope that this book is helpful," she said as she passed the green and black plastic bag to Justin. Justin thanked her and left to join the others outside the shop. "Quick! Run to the limos before we get spotted," Lance whispered to the guys. "Why? What happened to all the people?" Justin asked quizically. "Let's just say the we should all be eternally grateful to the Moffats." AJ grinned at Justin. The Backstreet Boys and *N Sync ran to the limos waiting for them at the back of the mall. Just as they were reaching the limos, the guys heard the shrieks of a thousand girls. "Crap!" Justin whispered to JC. JC nodded and hastened his pace, dragging Justin with him. Justin stumbled and fell. JC lost his grip on Justin's arm but didn't turn around, thinking that Justin had pulled his arm out of JC's grip so that he could run better. He quickly followed Chris into the limo while Lance and Joey dashed in after him. The Backstreet Boys had already gotten into their limo and it began to drive them back to the hotel. Joey sat and caught his breath. He looked around the limo. "That was close," Chris panted. "Where's Justin?" Joey asked. "He's right here..." JC's voice trailed off. "Oh shit! He's still outside!" Justin heard the screams of the girls coming closer. His Calvin Klein jeans had protected his knees from being scraped. He grabbed the plastic bag with the book in it. There was a hole in it and when he lifted the bag, the book fell out. It landed in an open-book position. As Justin bent down to pick it up, his eye caught the word "Invisibility". He glanced through the words written on the page. I wouldn't hurt to try, he thought. "Things seen and things unseen Let me walk here in between." Justin chanted the words aloud. There was nothing. No flash of light or crash of thunder. Nothing. Well, at least I know that this is crap, Justin thought. He turned to face the oncoming mob, hoping that they wouldn't ruin his new blue tie-dye Giordano shirt, sent to him by a fan from Singapore. Suprisingly, the girls seemed to ignore him. "Where did he go?" Justin heard a girl ask. "I don't know. He was here just a second ago." Another girl replied. Justin waved his hand in front of a girl's face. She didn't even notice him and continued to scan the area. "False alarm!" Justin shouted as loudly as he could in a fake voice, hoping that the mob would hear him. "False alarm?" the girls began to murmur and grumble. Slowly the crowd dispersed. Cool! Justin thought. He made his way to the open limo door. He stepped inside and closed the door. Lance, JC, Joey and Chris all jumped in fear. "Who closed that door?" Chris asked fearfully. "I did," Justin said, tapping Chris' shoulder. Chris spun around and glanced at the other members of *N Sync. He saw fear in their faces. JC had gone pale and was sweating profusely. Joey was edging towards the other end of the limo, looking like a rabbit who has just seen a wolf. Lance let lose a stifled sob. "What's up with you people?" Justin asked, a puzzled expression on his face. Lance began to cry in fear, clinging onto JC. JC didn't move. He had fainted from fear. Joey cringed in a corner of the limo and took out a silver cross he had bought from the store. He held it like a toddler who had lost his favourite toy and just found it again. Chris gulped and swallowed a large lump in his throat. He finally gathered his courage. "Who are you?" he asked the empty air. "It's only Justin," Justin said. "What's up with you guys? You act like there's a ghost in this limo." "Justin?" Chris exclaimed. "Why can't we see you?" "Oops...I forgot about that," Justin said. He concentrated on losing the invisibility. "YAARRRGGHH!" Joey shouted as Justin materialised next to him. "How did you do that? That's so cool!" "I'll explain later," Justin said. "Let's get back to the hotel and I'll explain everything." He tapped the glass seperating the driver from the band and gave the signal to the driver to go. The limo began to drive towards the hotel. The drive back to the hotel was short and uneventful. When they reached the hotel, Chris got out first and ran to the hotel's cafe to ask for a cup of cold water. He brought the cup back to the limo and splashed the contents onto JC's face. When JC came to, he asked what had happened. Justin said that he would explain later and JC nodded. A ring emitted from JC's jeans pocket. JC took out his cellphone and answered the call. "JC here," he said. "Hello JC, are you guys back at the hotel yet?" Kevin asked. "Yeah, we just arrived," JC replied. "Why?" "Oh, nothing. We just wondered where you guys were. We called all your rooms and no one picked up so we got worried. Are you gonna join us for dinner in my room?" Kevin asked. "Sure, we'll be there in ten minutes," JC said and then hung up. "Who was that?" Lance asked, his eyes still a bit red from crying. "That was Kevin. We have ten minutes to meet the BSB in Kevin's room for dinner." JC responded. "Only ten minutes?" Justin frowned. "We'll have to go as we are now, 'coz it'll take us ten minutes to get there from here. We don't even have time to put our stuff in our rooms." Chris just rolled his eyes. The boys of *N Sync entered the hotel lobby and took the lift the the 39th floor. They stood outside room 3902 and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" Nick called out. "Room service!" All the guys shouted back. They burst into laughter. "Room service? Wow! Remind me to congratulate the hotel management on their prompt service. We just hung up on the receptionist," Nick said to Brian. AJ opened the door and the guys from *N Sync walked in. "Hey, where's our food?" Nick asked. He looked up and noticed that it was *N Sync and not room service. His puzzled look caused all the guys to break into fits of laughter. "I don't understand," Nick said, scratching his head, causing the guys to laugh all the more. "Where can we put our things?" Justin asked when everyone had stopped laughing at the embarrassed Nick. Kevin motioned to a corner of the room where all the Backstreet Boys' shopping lay. JC and Justin helped their friends to place their shopping into the corner as well. Justin placed his book into JC's shopping bag. Room service arrived a little later, serving the food Kevin had ordered for the guys. Brian gave the waiter a tip and the waiter left, telling them to put the dirty plates onto the cart and leave it outside the room door where someone else would come to clear it. The guys began to eat. AJ turned on the room's radio and soon the room was filled with the sound of Britney Spears singing Sometimes. While they were eating, Howie asked, "So how come you guys were so late? Did the fans mob you?" "No, they didn't," Justin said. "They almost got to mob me but I got away." "What happened?" Brian asked curiously. "Oh, nothing much," Justin said proudly. "I just fell while running. The fans were about to catch up with me but I turned invisible and got away." "Huh?" AJ said, blinking his eyes in disbelief. "How'd you turn invisible?" "Yeah, Justin, how? You scared the hell out of all of us when the limo door closed by itself and then this voice spoke out of nowhere," Joey spoke for the other guys. "It was nothing," Justin said, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. He attempted to change the subject. "So what did you guys buy at the weird store?" "I bought some herbs supposed to cure headaches," Kevin grinned. "I think I really need them as long as I travel with these guys." "I bought a really cool looking sword," Lance's eyes lit up. "I got a crystal unicorn for Amanda," AJ said. "How sweet," Brian grinned at AJ. "I bought a big silver cross." "So did I," Joey added. "I bought a small quartz," Howie said. "Cheapskate," Chris teased Howie. "And what did you get, weirdo?" Howie asked Chris. Chris blushed and said, "The same thing as you, blockhead." "Cheapskate to you too, then," Howie punched Chris on the arm. "I got a dagger with a hilt shaped like a shark's head," Nick said. "I purchased an extraordinarily exquisite silver ring with an amethyst on it. It is well crafted to capture the elusive beauty of a wonderous dragon," JC said in a pathetic attempt to sound like a British nobleman. The guys all began to laugh at him. "What did you get, Justin?" Lance asked. "A book," Justin replied. "What kind of book?" AJ asked, his curiousity aroused. "I dunno...I just grabbed it when JC called me out of the shop," Justin said. "Let's see it!" Joey yelled. He ran to the corner of the room and took the book from a plastic bag. He flipped through the pages and stopped at one of them. "Watch me do this," Joey yelled, giggling. "Wait! Joey, don't do anything," Justin cautioned. "You don't actually believe this stuff, do you Justin?" Joey asked. Before Justin could reply, Joey in a fake commanding voice chanted: "Out of place, with this rhyme, Make us all go back in time." The room was suddenly filled with a bright white light. "Shit!" Justin screamed as the light enveloped the entire room. The light grew brighter and brighter and then faded away. The spellbook dropped to the floor and closed. All the guys were gone. ------------------------------TO BE CONTINUED------------------------------ So how was it? I don't think I did that great but the next chapter should be much better, I hope. I've spent weeks thinking of the second chapter but I would like some feedback about my writing to see which areas I need to improve before I write the next chapter so that it will be just as good as I imagined it to be. My email address is ensstyenlc@hotmail.com I hope to hear from you soon.
