At least not as far as I know. If you're below 18 or if you don't want to read fiction about homosexuality, how did you get here? Note: Thanks David! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Previously on Chances Are: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Wanna talk about it? You don't have to mention names." Caleb offered. JC looked at Caleb warily. "Are you sure you want to hear this?" Caleb just smiled reassuringly. JC took another drink of his second glass of beer. "I think we broke up. Which is funny since we only got together about three days ago." "Wow. So what happened?" "I don't know. Everything was going great one minute and the next minute we were arguing about something that we had already decided on earlier. And now..." JC sighed, realising that he couldn't speak of Justin without using either his name or a pronouns. Both of which would be too risky to be revealed to a stranger. "It's too complicated." "Isn't it always?" Caleb replied and didn't push for more. They shared a comfortable silence before Caleb turned around and looked at the pool table in the corner of the club. "So, do you play pool?" JC stood up and headed over to grab a cue stick. Caleb followed him, but not before telling the bar-tender to keep the drinks coming. ** Chapter 13 It was almost midnight and they still had not heard from JC. Justin sat on the couch, scowling while the rest were sitting on Lance's bed, waiting for Mike or Lonnie to call back with information about JC. Joey clicked aimlessly through the channels on the television. "Hey Joey! Go back to that channel." Chris said, sitting up. "Which channel?" "That channel before this, the one showing those planes." "This one?" "No. Not airline planes. The one showing the fighter planes." "I didn't see any fighter planes." "I'm telling you, there were fighter planes. Just click backwards." "I've clicked back 10 channels and there aren't anything about fighter planes, Chris." "I saw it!" "Maybe you were hallucinating." Joey replied. Chris glared at him. "Give me the remote." "No way. I took it first." "And you've been holding it for the past hour. It's my turn." "There are no turns. I have it. It's only mine." "Joey..." Chris called in warning. "Chris..." Joey repeated. Chris smirked and the next minute he and Joey were on the floor, wrestling for the remote control. Arms went flying in all directions while legs went kicking in Lance's direction. "HEY! Cut it out!" Lance yelled from where he was sitting, going through some papers. "Give...it...to...me!" Joey choked out, as he tried to escape Chris' hold around his neck. "It's...my...turn!" Chris said, holding the remote away from Joey's grasp. More struggling and this time, Joey's leg connected with Lance's arm hence sending sheets of paper flying. "THAT'S IT!" Lance yelled and stepped over the wrestling duo, to grab the remote from Chris' hand. He then switched the television off. "Out of my room! Justin can stay but you two get the hell out of here!" Chris and Joey pulled apart, glaring at each other. Seeing the anger in Lance's face, they turned without a word and headed for the door. Even covering that short distance, they shoved slightly at each other. "Call me when JC gets back, Curly." Joey said. "Call me too." Chris added. "Copycat." "Moron." "Asshole." "Buttmunk." "Huh? What's a buttmunk?" Joey asked. "Look in the mirror." Chris said as they closed the door behind them. Lance shook his head. "Sometimes those two make me want to cry, Justin." "Huh?" Justin said absently. "Did you even hear a thing that has been going on here?" Lance asked. "What thing?" Justin asked, then looked around the room. "Where are Chris and Joey?" Lance smiled. "JC will be ok, Justin. He probably just needed to get away and vent or something. From what you told us, you were pretty unfair to him." Justin ran his hands through his hair. "I know. I just need to apologize and everything would be ok. I just know it. He will forgive me, right?" "JC can't be mad at anyone for long. Especially not you, Justin." "Then why is he still not back? What if he got mugged or run down by some drunk or..." "Stop thinking that way. He will be fine." Lance reassured him. "I wish Lonnie and Mike would call soon. What's taking them..." The phone rang. Smiling, Lance hurried to answer it. "Yeah? What? Oh, er...ok. Lonnie's on his way here? Ok. Thanks Mike." Justin looked at Lance questioningly. "So? Did they find JC? Where is he? Is he ok? What?" the worried boy asked. "He's fine. He's just at some bar." "Are they bringing him back?" Justin asked. "No...he's drunk and he's with...." "JC's drunk? JC doesn't get drunk unless he...unless he's really upset. Oh shit." Justin swore. "Mike's keeping an eye on him. Lonnie's coming here to bring you to JC. Maybe you can convince him to come back without making a scene." Lance explained. Lance hadn't told Justin everything. Not about the guy that was with JC. The guy who, according to Mike, was rather touchy-feely with JC. Justin sighed. "Damn! I can't believe I screwed things up this bad, this fast." "If it makes you feel better, I think JC's at fault here too. Not a lot but at least some. Just talk to him and sort this out. You two are too good for each other to let this relationship fail." There was a knock on the door. Justin smiled. "Thanks Lance." Lance opened the door and Lonnie stood outside. "We better hurry." Lonnie said. "Why? He's not going anywhere. Mike's keeping watch right?" Lance asked. "Yeah, but er...he's got a friend with him and they are...I think you better just come with me, Curly" the bodyguard said. Lonnie and Lance exchanged a look as Justin hurriedly followed Lonnie. ** JC knew he was drunk. He didn't know how he got so drunk so fast but he had to be drunk because he could hardly walk straight. He felt like he was going to pass out any moment. How was he going to head back to the hotel in this state? Maybe he should wash his face. That might help. "I'm...going to..." JC forgot the word. "...there," he said pointing to the washroom. He was halfway there when Caleb joined him. "Here, let me help you, JC." Caleb said, putting his arms around JC's waist and walking with him in. JC didn't make much of the close contact. The bar was almost empty so the men's was empty too. Caleb helped JC to the sink, standing behind him and holding him around the waist still. JC looked at his reflection. "I look pretty smashed." JC said with a laugh. Caleb stared at JC's reflection. "You look pretty. Period, " he said as he pressed against the singer. JC wondered how Caleb was still sober. They had been playing pool the whole time so how had he managed to drink more than Caleb. "Am I drunk?" JC asked, as seriously as he could while trying not to fall over. "Probably." "Are you drunk?" "Not really." "How come?" "My secret." Caleb whispered into JC's ears and kissed him on the neck. JC frowned and tried to pull away but Caleb didn't let go. "I think...I should go home." JC said. "Not now. Later. We can have some more fun." Caleb whispered and kissed JC's neck again, this time licking at it. JC shrugged to dislodge Caleb's lips from his neck. "I can't...I have to go," the singer said, trying to move away. Caleb turned JC in his arms and kissed in on the cheeks. "You're so beautiful. You're so hot." JC jerked his head away. "Let go. I don't want to..." "You don^"t have much choice." Caleb said and pushed JC into one of the cubicles and locked the door. "What..." JC's words were cut off by Caleb's mouth. He almost gagged at the tongue that was shove into his throat. JC vaguely noticed that Caleb's lips were hard and bruising. Nothing like his sweet Justin's soft, caressing lips. Why was this guy kissing him? He didn't want this guy to kiss him. He only wanted Justin. "No! Let...go." JC yelled as he pulled away. Not that it would help since the music from outside was loud enough to be heard inside which meant his yells would be only muffled sounds outside. "Why? Stop the act. I know you're gay. I can make you feel real good." JC wished his arms didn't feel so forceless. "I don't want this, Caleb. You've got the wrong idea." Caleb ignored the struggles and grabbed at JC's zipper. "I know you want it. Come on. I'll make you feel good." JC tried to struggle free but the alcohol in his system was making him weak and uncoordinated. He realized that it couldn't just be alcohol because he was about to be raped and if that wasn't a sobering experience, nothing was. He was about to be raped. That thought made JC react with more force. JC shoved at Caleb and swung his arm, connecting with the other guy's face. Although there wasn't enough strength in the swing to hurt Caleb, it gave JC time to open the cubicle door and stumble out. However, Caleb recovered fast and tackled him to the floor. "Not so fast, pretty boy." Caleb snarled, pushing JC on his stomach and holding both his hands behind his back. "The moment I saw you tonight, I wanted you. So just lie there and enjoy it." JC struggled as hard as he could but his whole body felt weak. He closed his eyes tight as he felt Caleb pull his pants down. 'No! This is not happening!' His last thoughts before he felt Caleb reach for the waistband of his boxers was of Justin. ** The moment Justin and Lonnie entered the bar, they saw Mike. He looked pretty uneasy and worried which only confused Justin more. "Where is he?" Lonnie asked. "He's quite stoned. He went to the washroom." "And the other guy?" "What other guy?" Justin asked, apprehensively. "He followed him too." Justin suddenly didn't want to know 'what other guy'. "What's going on?" Justin asked. "JC was drinking with this other guy. They seemed pretty close." "And they went into...together?" Justin asked, suddenly feeling sick and wanting to punch something. Mike nodded. "I would have stopped them but I don't know what's going on between them and also JC seemed pretty...accepting of his advances." Justin' blue eyes flashed with anger and jealousy. He couldn't believe that JC would cheat on him. Mike and Lonnie watched Justin, knowing that the teenager was pissed off at his boyfriend. "So what are you going to do, Curly?" Lonnie asked. "If he wants it this way, fine. Let's go." Justin growled. "We still have to take him back to the hotel." Lonnie replied. "But if he wants to go back to that guy's place..." Mike shut up when he got a glare from Lonnie. That was obviously not the right thing to say. "All right. Let's go." The three of them headed for the exit. [Author's note: Is it my imagination or do I hear people cursing at me, at this point? ;p] Right before they were about to leave the bar, Justin stopped. "No. You know what? I'm not going to let him do this." With that, Justin turned back around and angrily stalked in the direction of the washroom with Lonnie and Mike in tow. ** tbc... ===== ******************************************************** Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. - Victor Borge The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less. - Eldridge Cleaver
