He snorted. "He is your son. We never should have been together to create this." He pointed at me. "Damn you, Malak! He is your son! Even pure evil must care for their offspring!" Malak spat in my direction. "He is a being of balance. I have no use for such a thing." Celeste looked at my sleeping form. "How dare you say such a thing! Leave now, and forget about him. If you attack them again, I will destroy you." Malak's face twisted into darkness. He vanished into a dark light. Celeste looked at me, as her form evaporated into the light-form she first showed herself as. I heard one last thing before she was gone. "I'm sorry." ***************************************************************************** Chapter 11: I awoke to Ryu nudging me. Everyone was awake, and standing around, waiting for me. Gail noticed I was waking up, and came over to me. "Wow, he must've beat the hell out of you! It's been three hours. What happened?" I got to my feet. I was a little dizzy, but managed to stand. "I think ... I think I met my parents." I sputtered out. "What do you mean?" She asked, thinking I was delerious. "I think I met my parents. That guard said he was the super power that attacked the academy, and was going to kill me. A good super power possesed my body, and told him she was going to kill him. She took all of the energy out of my body to put me to sleep, but I still remember everything. She said I was his son, and he didn't accept that. He said I was her son, not his. He said I'm a creature of balance, and that he has no use for such a thing." My vision was blurred from the tears welling up in my eyes. "I have to find out if it's true. I have to find out why she left me in that field, and why my father is trying to kill me." She was starting to believe me now. I could tell by the tears in her eyes. "Jacob, let me tell you something. I know how you feel. The man that told you I was his daughter adopted me. My parents left me in a field, just like yours. They left both of us. The reason I didn't believe you met your parents is because Celeste told me you would have to wait until you were ready." I couldn't comprehend what she was saying. "You know my mother?" The tears were now flowing freely. The rest of the group had gathered around, trying to comfort me by hold my hand, stroking my hair, or with some other gesture of sympathy. "I guess now that they have shown themselves to you, I can tell you what I know. Celeste, and Malak are your parents. Malak wants to destroy you, because he knows you will be able to destroy him one day. He knows he will never be able to sway you to the darkness. Malak is the lord of darkness. Celeste is the Emporess of light. Your parents are the two most powerful beings ever created. Celeste left you in that field because the darkness was stronger than the light at that time. She knew Malak would kill you, and had to hide you from him. When Malak finally found you, he knew he couldn't kill you himself, because the light had gained the upper hand int he war, and the power shifted once again. Celeste could probably destroy him, and he didn't want to find out. So, instead of risking his own life he sent invisible demons to destroy your town, and you. Celeste thought it was over. She tried to protect you, but Malak had cast a spell on the town that kept her out. She sent her pupils, but they never found you. It is still unknown to her who got you out of that town." The tears had stopped flowing at this point, but my body was still shaking from the many spasms. "How did you find her?" I desperatly wanted to know everything Gail could tell me. Gail sighed. "Jacob, Ryan was not my brother. The super powers of the light planned this to protect you, and I. They placed you in a field where you would be taken by a priest to a town that would be safe from evil until you were old enough to take care of yourself. They chose Ryan because he was a shape shifter. They placed us both in a different field, to be found by Ryan's father. Before you came, we were visited by Celeste. She told us to make it look like we were twins, somehow. To throw you way off track. I changed my form to like like what you see, and Ryan changed his. The truth is, Jacob, I am your sister. I am your twin." Her dark hair began to melt into a golden blonde scape of beauty. The brown of her eyes brightened to a vibrant blue. Her face molded into a female version of mine. Only her appearance changed. Her size stayed the same. Tears began welling up in my eyes again as I launched toward Gail, and wrapped her in a tight embrace. She smiled. "I thought you would be just a little mad at me for keeping this from you." I pulled back, and looked at her. "Are you kidding? For years I've thought I had no family. You are a dream come true." I continued the embrace until a streak of lightning interupted. The boom of the thunder made even the mightiest of titans jump. It was like giants were beating drums with all their strength. "We had better get outta here." Said Gail. "It'll be a little tougher since we had to leave the horses." I looked at the sky. "This isn't a normal storm." The clouds were swirling around each other. They almost seemed to glow a slight red. Suddenly a bolt of lighting flew toward the ground, striking with trails of electricity flowing everywhere. When the light dimmed, the figure of a man stood where the bolt had striked. He was wearing a red cloak, with blue runes sewn into the fabric. I walked closer, trying to get a look at his face. For some reason I wasn't afraid of this person. "My efforts were not in vain." Said the man. His voice was full of relief. "I've been watching you, Jacob. When Gail said your mother was looking for the person that saved you, I had to come." I squinted to see past the shadow the hood of his cloak cast over his face. "You know who he was?" I asked. "Yes, I do. I wish to speak to Celeste. How can I contact her?" The flowing light began decending from the clouds, slowly making it's way to the world. It took form behind the man. He never noticed it. "I am always listening." Said Celeste. The man turned quickly, reaching for his sword. Celest looked him over. "You know who saved my son?" She asked, with hope in her voice. The man nodded, reaching for the hood of his cloak. He pulled it down, revealing the back of his head to me. His hair was pure white, like fresh snow on an open plain. It was cut short, the front spiked. Like mine. "It was I who saved your son." Celeste gasped. "Isaiah!" The man nodded, and turned to me. His eyes were emerald green. He looked like Lance, so much so they could easily be mistaken for one another. His hair color was the only easily noticed difference. "Jacob, I am Isaiah, Emperor of the light." Gail stepped into his view. "Isaiah? I thought you were killed?" She had an astounded look on her face. Isaiah smiled. "Yes, most still do. Ever since I saved Jacob, I've kept myself hidden, watching him. I knew Celeste would step in, so I did not help when Malak attacked you. I felt now was the time to let her know who it was." Isaiah turned back to Celeste. "Why did you let him see you? I fear it is still too early." She shook her head. "I didn't mean for it to happen. I tried to put him to sleep, but somehow he still remembers everything. Malak knew this would be his only chance to destroy him, so he went for it. I'm sorry, Isaiah." Isaiah walked to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "Do not worry. I'm sure he will make the right choices." He turned back to us. "I think you should head to the spirit temple. Enlightenment is the key to reaching true power." Before any of us could ask what he meant, he vanished. Celeste stepped closer to us, tears forming in her eyes. "Jacob, I've waited so long to be able to touch you. I had to stay away for so long I began to forget what you looked like. You've grown up so much since I last saw you. Gail, thank you for keeping the secret. I wasn't sure if you would be able to keep it from him for so long." She looked into my eyes, and moved in to hug me. She held me as tight as she could. Her icy tears stained the cloth over my shoulder as I held her. She pulled back. "Here I am, the second most powerful being ever created, and I'm crying like a baby." She turned away. "You will see me again. For now, I must leave you. Goodbye." She evaporated into the clouds once more. I stared after her until I felt someones hand on my shoulder. "We should get going." Said Gail, softly. I nodded and walked in the direction of the temple. Everyone left me to my thoughts. The only noise was the occasional question directed at either Gail, or Vincent. The heat had taken a lot out of all of us, but we pressed on. I was determined to reach the temple, and find out as much of the truth as I could. It took countless hours to even reach the mountains that stood in our way. I started toward the mountain pass immediatly, but Anthony stopped me. "Jacob, I know you want to get to the temple as soon as possible, but we all need rest. Especially since that pass is controlled by my father, and they probably won't let us through easily." I hadn't said a word since I met Isaiah. After a little persuasion from everyone I agreed to camp for the night. I had trouble sleeping, but finally fell into an eventful slumber. ****** The screams of anguish echoed through the night. One man was swinging a broadsword at thin air like he was attacking an invisible opponent. He dropped the sword, and grabbed his neck. Blood gushing from the wound he was covering. He fell to the ground with a thud. A child was running through the streets, and suddenly stopped, like she had hit an invisible wall. She scrambled to her feet. When she was standing her eyes suddenly rolled back in her head. Her body fell to the ground, followed by her head a few second later. With a flash I woke covered in a cold sweat. ****** The sun was beaming down on me, heating me up quickly. Everyone was up, packing anything they had unpacked the night before. I got to my feet, and walked to the lake that was near by. I reached into the pack I had brought, and pulled out a sky-blue robe. It was too plain for me, so I threw it aside. I saw something in my pack. A yellow piece of cloth sticking up between two other robes. I pulled it out, and immediatly recognized the crest. The black dragon sewn into the yellow fabric, with a small warrior attempting to slay it. I wondered how one of Camelot's Royal robed had gotten into my laundry, but decided to wear it anyway. I thought it might help us at the pass. I washed in the lake, and didn't bother looking for something to dry myself with. I slipped the robe on, and walked back to camp. "Are we ready?" I said, trying to push the dream out of my mind. Everyone nodded, and stood. We walked toward the pass, expecting the worst. There were two guards posted at the gate. Anthony pulled me aside. "Where did you get that?" He asked, pointing at my robe. I shrugged. "It was in my pack." He was wearing a smaller version of the same robe. I noticed for the first time that everyone was. The guards saw us approaching, and crossed their spears to keep us from continuing. They noticed our robes, and quickly motioned for us to pass. Anthony was keeping his face well hidden, and they didn't see him. One of the guards became suspicious and began questioning us as we passed. "You're the escort?" He asked. Vincent stopped, turned, and nodded. "Who was it you're escorting, again?" The guard had a smirk on his face. Vincent thought for a moment, and walked up to the guard. "You know we do not discuss these matters outside of the castle!" The guard wore the same smirk. "I have to verify everyone who comes through this gate. "We are not an escort you would have been informed of. We are escorting his majesty Anthony Camelot the Third to a secret location where the sadistic minds of the ones who kidnapped him from Camelot will never find him. We were told to keep this information secret. We were equipped to kill any man, be he guard, or commoner, that stands in our way." The smirk on his face vanished. "I appologize, sir. I will tell no one we have spoken." We headed to the other end of the tunnel. There was a large steel door embeded in the cave wall. Anthony blocked the door quickly. "This side of the pass is controlled by Vampires. The territory on the other side is crawling with the undead. If we decide to try, and kill the guards on the other side the rest of the creatures should leave us alone. They know better than to attack any man who kills an elite guard. What are we going to do?" I moved to open the door. "We're going to kill them. I have issues with the undead." I said, as I slipped through the door. Everyone followed, forming a row as we walked toward the guards. Our footsteps made the hideous creatures realize we were coming, and they turned to face us. They looked at each other, questioning this battle. Finally they advanced. Anthony failed to mention there would be more guards here than on the other side. One of the advancing guards whistled, signalling for six others to join them. I hadn't had time to hide my wings, because it takes a lot of effort to do so. I had the folded behind me forming a cape. I spread them behind the group. The vampires stopped, and looked at each other again. Seemingly intimidated, they continued their advance. Justin was still in human form, trying to decide what to shift into. We stopped, a few feet from our foes. One of the vampires spat at me, reminding me of Malak. "Who the hell are you?" One of them asked. "Your death." I stated flatly, controlling my anger. A roar of laughter erupted fromt he group of vampires. "Our death? How can you possibly think you can kill us? We have slaughter any, and all of your kingdoms so-called elite guard that have tried to pass. What makes you different?" I stared at the speaker for a moment. I cocked my head to one side. My eyes began to glow a pure white. They had a red tint, from my evil side.In a blur one of my wings flew toward his head. He fell to the ground in a heap, what remained of his head covered the far wall. Gail grabbed the one in front of her, and threw him straight up onto a rock formation. He stayed there for the remainder of our stay in the cavem dripping the black blood of the undead into a puddle on the ground. The remaining six vampires lunged at us. Vincent took his opponent out quickly, reaching through his body, and tearing his heart from it's fortress of bone, and burning it into a handful of ash. Having done our part, we sat out while the newcomers fought five different opponents. Justin had changed into his small werewolf form. He clawed out the eyes of his enemy, and stabbed him in the chest. Two white balls of light formed in the empty sockets of the vampire's skull, and flashed. His eyes were back, seemingly untouched. Justin became frusterated, and clawed furiously at the creature. The vampire stood, taking all of Justin's blows. He rolled his new set of eyes, and backhanded Justin against a wall. He was up before the monster could move, and stuck his claws in each side of it's head. He thrashed it around, against anything he could find until it stopped moving. He pulled out his claws with a pop, and turned away from the creature. He turned to us, and smiled with a mouth full of teeth. We shook our heads, and pointed at the monster behind him. He turned, and gasped. He growled, and lunged at it. I looked at Gail. "When do you think he'll figure out you have to disconnect the head, or destroy the heart completely?" She shrugged. Justin was furiously thrashing at his opponent. He drew back, and his animal form melted away. He has exhausted his energy by uselessly thrashing at the creature. I flew towards him, and threw him to Gail. I grabbed the vampire by his throat, and my hand began twisting into gruesome claws. The inch-long razor sharp claws were puncturing the throat, making the monster try to howl in pain. I thrust my arm backwards, and ripped out his throat. The trademark move of any spectre. In my spectre form I had all the powers of that creature. My hand began to glow slightly as I reached through the vampire with ease. My hand passed through him like he was nothing but air. I let my hand solidify, and this forced the flesh, and bone to rip apart. My arms shot up towards the roof of the cave. The monster fell to the ground, his upper body ripped in half. With every fallen Vampire, the others grew more, and more wary. Lance saw how the other vampires were slain, and figured out why his various jabs connected with little effect. The vampire in front of him was full of holes, from head to toe. Lance jabbed the creature once more, and pulled out to the side. The huge gash in the torso of the creature was gushing blood like a waterfall gushes water. He lunged his lance through the hole in the monsters head, and pulled upward. The monstaers head popped off with a snap, and his body fell to the ground. The head hung from the spear, sizzling. The holy light vibrated, and the head burst, spewing blood over the walls of the cave. JC was throwing balls of fire at the creature, missing every time. He finally decided on how to kill it as his form melted into lava. He flowed toward the creature, stopping right in in front of it. The creature smiled. "A burning pool. I'll put you out." He said, pulling his pants down. His bodily fluids were close to flowing when the pool of JC shot upward, dissolving the vampires jewels in a matter of seconds. He flowed under the creature. Th vampire tried to move, but couldn't. He looked down at the ground only to see he had no legs. He was but a head, quickly melting in the pool of molten lava. "What a way to go." I said to Justin. Chris' enemy had numerous ice shards sticking from everywhere on his body. He had given up on launching projectiles, and had frozen both of his arms, changing them into blades of ice. The air around the blades seemed to freeze, and flow into his body. The creature had drawn his sword, easily defending Chris' attacks. Chris eventually gained the upper hand, and lunged a blade through the chest of the creature. His body pulsed, and the ice on his arm flowed into the creature, freezing him. Chris stepped back, and looked at the ground. A small dust devil formed, and was growing. It grew to the vampires height, and Chris commanded it to destroy the vampire. It flowed forward, picking up debris as it inched forth. It reached the ice statue, and hit it with the rocks it had picked up on it's path to the creature. It chipped away at him, like a saw blade. The vampire lay in a pile of ice shards on the cave floor. Joey had called the earth to imprison the creature he was fighting. He circled the cage, trying to find the best way to kill his prisoner. He stopped suddenly, and looked at us. "Should I ask him anything first?" We thought about it for a minute. "As him where his lair is." Suggested Anthony. "I may have ran away, but that doesn't mean that kingdom won't be mine someday. One less lair will help in the war when I'm king." Joey nodded, and began his interogation. "Where is it?" He asked calmly. "Like I would tell you. Even if I did tell you you'd be dead before you got to the gates!" Joey called the earth up a little, inching the creature toward a horrid death by crushing him against the ceiling of the cave. "Where is it?" Joey asked, with a hint of anger in his voice. "It's the biggest damn lair on Derux! You'll never destroy it." This continued until the creature was pinned against the ceiling of the cave. "OK! I'll tell you. We took over the spirit temple, and that is our lair, now!" I walked up to the cage. "The spirit temple?! Damn it! Joey, kill him, now!" Joey nodded, and placed his hand on the wall of the cave. The hill he had created inside the cage dropped down to the ground. A large circle of spikes formed above the creatures head. "No! I told you where it is, please let me go!" I looked at the creature. "You disgust me! You kill innocent people, and ignore their pleas for mercy, and expect us to bestow upon you even an ounce of it! Disgusting." The spikes broke away from the cave, and fell to the creature. The cave floor also raised, plunging the creature into the spikes. It continued, in a blur, some forty feet to the ceiling, crushing the impaled body, spilling blood like a fountain. We walked out of the cave in silence. The carnage we left behind us suddenly regestering. We traveled until we could see the temple in the distance. We made came a few hundred feet away. Vincent created a potion that mocked the smell of friendly vampires to protect us during the night. We had to figure out how to clear the temple of the creatures that now inhabited it. It wasn't going to be easy, and we hoped Celeste, or Isaiah could lend us a hand. Later that night, when everyone was asleep, I called ro Celeste. She flowed down to earth, forming the beautiful form she liked so much. "Yes?" She asked. "Mother, I don't know how we are going to clear the temple. Please, can you help us?" She frowned, and hung her head. "I cannot promise my help. Isaiah, and I vowed not to help in any fight unless it was completely necesary. Unless you are on the verge of dieing, we cannot step in. I have to speak with Isaiah. If we cannot help, I know you can do it. You'll find a way. Get some sleep, you'll need lots of rest for tomorrow." I hugged her, and she melted away in my embrace. I watched her flow into the sky like a lost cloud. I had a dreamless sleep that night. I had never had a dreamless sleep in my life. I welcomed the uneventful sleep with open arms. TBC... ***************************************************************************** How was it? I was just practicing .. thats why the vamps didn't fight back much. I'll work on the next fight more than I did this one to make up for that easy battle. Please e-mail at TruAmricanBadAss@AOL.com, or IM there or Morbddream. PLEASE! :) OK, like last chapters note said I won't be able to write for a while, so I pumped these out like I did. I submitted everytime I got a confirmation from Nifty, so ya'll wouldn't get mad if I had to take a little break to think this through. I meant for it to confuse you here, and there, but from what you guys have said it does it's job too well, right? Anyway, I'll try to work on that! Sweet Dreams!
