Chapter 10

Flashback:

Outside, everyone else had left except Melinda.

"How do I make you, Justin, believe that JC doesn't love you?"

JC sat on his bed sniffling. He'd made love to Justin last night, yes that was true. But Justin was a married man. What did that make him? It made him a partner in crime. Justin had sounded so cocky downstairs and that had scared him.

"How can he be so full of himself. `I'm a grown boy, I can do what I please. I can love who I please, make love to whom I please'. My ass." JC mocked, while the tears still slid down his sculpted cheek bones.

`What am I going to do?' JC thought as he heard a knock at his door.

Knock Knock

"Justin leave me the fuck alone!"

"JC? It's not Justin. It's...it's Melinda."

"What the hell do you want?"

"Can I come in?"

"Fine," JC snapped as he stood from his crouched position and unlocked the door.

"What?" JC spat as he made his way back to his bed and placed his head carelessly in his hands.

"Well, I wanted to ask if you were alright. I rang the doorbell 15 minutes after you two went into the house, and Justin answered the door sulking. He said he thought you weren't speaking to him and proceeded to tell me why. Is this true?"

"Well, yeah...it is. I can't talk to Justin for awhile." JC stated, sighing

"Why do you say that?" Melinda asked, hiding the evil in her voice.

"Because he doesn't know what he wants. He used you and I realized after we got into the house that he used me last night too. God, Melinda, I love him so much. I just don't think he really loves me." JC finished as tears welled deep in his blue eyes.

"Well, JC, as I told the others awhile back, I don't think Justin knows at all what he wants. But he did ask me to marry him, so I assume that he wants me. Even though he says he doesn't."

"He was drunk, remember? Who KNOWS what he was thinking! And he swears you took advantage of him."

"Yes, he was drunk. But if I didn't think he meant it I wouldn't have accepted his proposal, even though he was drunk."

"You think Justin is buying time?" JC blurted out as he raised his head from his cupped hands.

"Buying time for what?"

"Buying time to try and be single?"

"It wouldn't surprise me. Didn't that outburst today show anything? 'I don't owe anyone an apology'. He'll come around, I hope. And I'll be waiting at our home if he does."

"That's right. You two have a home. This is my home. And Justin needs to be out of it, and go home to you. Where he belongs." Josh stated, choking a bit on his words while putting his head back down.

"I'll leave you alone now. I just wanted to see if you were okay." Melinda stated, standing up and walking towards the door.

"Okay." JC said not even bothering to look up

"Bye JC." Melinda smiled to herself as she left the room.

Walking down the stairs to the living room, she saw Justin's head cradled in his arms. The sobbing coming from the couch was loud enough to wake the dead.

"Justin?"

"Go away."

"Justin, listen to me. I'm taking you home."

"Go away, this is my home."

"Your home is your house. The one I moved into. Our home. This is JC's home."

"JC is letting me live with him."

"He is huh? Go ask him yourself." Melinda spat, putting her hands on her hips.

At this comment Justin sat up abruptly and leapt from the couch. Running up the stairs, he crossed the hall to the master suite.

Knock Knock

"JC it's me."

"Go away Justin. Go home with Melinda, where you belong."

"This is my home."

Suddenly Justin heard movement in the room as the sound of feet shuffling on the carpet filled his ears. The door creaked open so JC could put his head out.

"Justin. This is my home. You are married to Melinda. You live with your wife, the one you love remember?." JC finished and slammed the door in Justin's face.

Justin crumbled to the floor as another set of sobs consumed him.

"But I love you JC..."

JC slowly walked back to the king size bed in the middle of the room.

`Last night was a mistake.' he thought, crying into his arms.

`Justin does love Melinda. Why would he love me. We had sex, that's all it was...just a fuck.'

He could hear the sobbing from outside the door. The heart-shattering cries from the one he loved tore his heart into pieces.

"I love you Justin, but this is for the best."

Melinda walked up the stairs towards the bawling Justin. Taking him in her arms, she tried to stand him up.

"I'm taking you home."

"NO!" Justin screamed.

"Yes, you're coming home to a place where someone loves you."

"But JC does love me."

"Justin, if JC loved you, why didn't he say so before now?"

Melinda tugged and pulled Justin to a standing position, Justin kicking and flaring his arms the whole time.

She started to pull him down the stairs by his arm, gripping his hand in her other hand.

"JC!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?" Justin yelled as he was yanked downstairs like a little child.

"WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME?!"

And then the noise was gone and the faint slamming of the door echoed through the house. JC collapsed onto the comforter as his howling over took his body.
