Date: Fri, 18 Jul 2003 21:52:20 +0100 (BST) From: goldenknight Subject: Dreams of an Angel - 35 (gay/boybands) Hi all!! Here's the next part of Dreams of an Angel. Hope you all enjoy it! Any comments or suggestions, well, you know how to contact me. My Yahoo ID is Goldenknightuk if you wish to send me an instant message. Sorry for any bad grammars boys and girl. C'mon! Nobody's perfect!! :) NOTE TO ALL READERS: In order to balance my study time and writings, I decided to set a specific time for every update. For now on, I'll be updating Dreams of an Angel every Tuesday & Friday evening (Well, Irish time. I dunno about the time differences between my place and yours, guys and gals. You have to figure that out yourself :P Trust me, I sucked in figuring it out :)). But hey, if time permits me, I promise I'll update it at other times :) Before the show, onwards to the boring part! Legal matters! Hehehe. You can press 'fast-forward' now. Well, first of all, this story, as you will certainly find out soon, is TOTALLY fictional. So! If any of you truly believe in it... dude, I'm worried about you. Secondly! None of the guys in the Backstreet Boys are gay! (No matter how hard I wished it :P). But nobody say we couldn't dream it, heh heh. Thirdly, Warren Worthington is actually a character from Marvel Comics, X-men known as Angel or recently Archangel. Okay fine, I admit it. I'm bored and I am making a pathetic attempt to make life a lil' bit interesting. Its not like I'm gonna publish it or something. What else to talk about hmm? Oh, there may be some adult gay scenes in this story. Unlike my brother, I don't mind writing naughty stuff ;) so! If you're underage, naughty, naughty! I can only ask you to go away, but I cannot do anything else to stop you from reading on anyway. Hell! I've been sneaking into the internet to watch gay porns since I was 13! So, if your parents or whoever responsible for you catch you, don't say I didn't warned you. However, if you're homophobic... well maybe I can seduce you enough to turn you around heh heh. I do so love a challenge ;) Anyway, enough talk. Any comments or boos or suggestion or whatever, just sent it to the same address as in NNTs, goldenknightuk@yahoo.co.uk . Yeah, we shared the same address. Don't ask. Long story. Okay then! On to the show. Now, don't be shy now. If you got any comments or suggestions, just drop me a note. You do the request, and I'll do the show. Andy ********************************* Part 35: 'Light & Darkness' "You sure you're gonna be okay, Nick?" Nick turned to smile at Jean weakly. "Relax, Jean. I'll only be away for two or three weeks. I still have lots of stuff to learn about this empathy thingy anyway. Don't worry. You'll still get your chance to work my mind to death." Nick answered cheekily. "So! My little medlab assistant is trying to run away from me!" Hank strode out wearing his lab coat and all. "Got tired of my medlab huh? Where's Warren? I still need to punch his little blue face for running off with my patient like that. Come over here, boy. Lemme check those stitches and see if they're okay before I let you go!" "Is there any way for you to rescue me from him, Jean?" Nick begged in a small voice. "Nope." Jean smiled. "Not even a telekinetic barrier between you and him will do any good once he is determined to get his hands on you. C'mon, I'll follow you. He's not that cruel... well... once you get used to his poking and prodding, you'll realize that." "It's the poking and prodding that actually bothers me." Nick grumbled grumpily. "I'm waiting!" Hank's voice floated from inside the main hall and they both hurried inside. "So what did Scott say?" Bobby smiled sadly at Lance as they stood on the front steps with the baggage... well... Lance was the one standing; Bobby lounged lazily on one of the side benches, smoking a cigarette. "Sorry, Spiky... whoops!... I mean Lance, heh heh." Bobby laughed as he raises his hands protectively before him when Lance frowned at him. "We have another mission to go to tomorrow. It got something to do with the professor's condition right now so I can't say when we will be back. But Scott did give me the green light if all goes well once we're back and the team doesn't need me around." Lance smile as he leaned against the porch's pillar and Bobby unconsciously stare at his eyes. Granted that Lance is not the usual type of guys he usually goes out with, he found that those beautiful eyes simply compensate everything. He has never seen eyes that sparkle as beautifully as those before. "Cool!! Come over then and I'll take you around the place!" said Lance. "Orlando? Been there, done that." Said Bobby. "I'll introduces you to the rest of the band." "Hmm... anyone cute in particular?" Bobby grinned. "Well," Lance smiled as he cocked his head to the side and frowned as if thinking really hard. "Considering that I'm the cutest, well I suppose I can be generous enough to give some of the others a chance to show their faces. After all, I can't hog the spotlights all for myself." He laughed when Bobby made a face as if he is vomiting. "Ever seen yourself in the mirror, honey?" Bobby laughed at last. "You can announce yourself as Casper the Friendly Ghost and trust me, people *will* believe you." "Fuck off, Snowman. I'm not *that* pale." Lance laughed along with him. "Yeeaaaahhh... You keep on telling yourself that, okay?" said Bobby. "By the way, the name's *Iceman*, not Snowman." "Iceman, Snowman, Ice-tea what's the difference." Lance shrugged before laughing when he saw Bobby's frown. Warren landed beside them at that moment and Bobby unconsciously smiled appreciatively as he saw Lance's eyes sparkle even more as he stares at Warren's wings admiringly. "For a moment, I really thought an angel just dropped from the sky." Lance spoke softly before he could stop himself. He blushed slightly when he realized what he has just said. Warren chuckled and patted Lance's shoulder gently. "Bless you, my son." He smiled before turning to Bobby. "Nu-uh! You don't deserve my blessing. You've been so naughty, even Santa crossed out your name from his list long ago." "You see what I have to deal with everyday, Spik... I mean, Lance," Bobby laughed again as Lance glares at him. "Everybody hates me here. Oh the crimes! The injustice!" "Try to be less of a pain in the ass. Trust me, they'll love ya." Lance replied cheerfully. "But the Iceman has been angelically good all the time..." Bobby began but Warren interrupted him. "Ooooh, Lance, did you hear that? 'Iceman' and 'angelically good' both in the same sentence... hmm... something is definitely wrong with that." "Oh, go and pray or brood or something, Warren, before I beat you till you're black 'n' blue all over... hmm... wait a minute... you are already blue anyway..." Bobby snickered. "You simply wouldn't let that go, wouldn't you?" Warren grumbled. "Where's Nick?" "OWWW!! THAT HURTS YOU QUACK!!" Nick voice floated from inside. "If you keep still, it wouldn't hurt as much. Now stop wriggling!" Hank's voice floated immediately after that. "Your little prince charming is at the mercy of the troll from the Blue Lagoon." Bobby grinned. "So you better save him before he is poked and prodded to death." "To the rescue then!" Warren flew off from them, wings flapping vigorously. "Up, up and awaayy!!" Lance laughed at that before turning his attention to Bobby. They fell silent after a while, not quite knowing what to say. "It's amazing." Bobby smiled at last. "What's amazing?" "Warren used to brood alone, and be bad-tempered, quiet and irritable... but after meeting Nick... gosh... it's like he become a little kid again... all laughter and smiles and... I've never seen his eyes glowing like that before..." said Bobby. "Well, I guess it must be true love." Lance remarked quietly. "Yeah..." Bobby replied before looking at Lance strangely. "You okay? You suddenly look sad." "Yeah, I'm okay." Lance smiled sadly. "I just got a flashback about Sarah and all... I really, really thought I finally found true love but..." He shrugged as his words trailed off. He looks up, startled when Bobby grabbed his wrist and slowly pulled him down to seat beside him before giving him a friendly hug. "Forget about her, dude." Said Bobby. "What's done is done. If it's meant to happen, then it's meant to happen. You're a cute guy, Lance. You have good looks, nice easygoing personality, a good heart and not to mention being a rich and famous celebrity. You don't need to go out and look for that *someone*. Instead, that *someone* will come over to look for *you*. So please, don't be sad about it okay?" Lance smiled and nodded quietly. Sometimes, when it comes to matters of a broken heart, the only solace you could find can only be found from the soothing words of a caring friend. Granted that he has just met Bobby less than three days ago, somehow, somewhere down the line, they has become closer than he ever thought they could be. "I'll try to, Bobby." Said Lance. "It'll take time... but I'll do my best." "That's all you're expected to do." Said Bobby as he stood up and backed away from the guy. "Hey Lance." "Hmm?" Lance murmured. "Ever play a snowball fight in midsummer?" "Huh? UGH!!!" Lance grimaced when a flurry of snowballs struck him again and again. "What the... hey! No fair! I'm no mutant! I can't fight back!! HEEELLLPPP!!!" Bobby only laughed as he chased Lance through the lawn, only to skid to a halt in horror very soon after that when Lance stood before him, grinning, with a hose in his hand. "Prepare to meet you doom." Lance laughed evilly as he twisted the tap on fully. "HOLY..." Bobby's words were lost into a gurgle when the powerful blast of water struck directly in his face. "Never think we normal humans are helpless, mutant." Lance laughing. "Laaaannceee!! The limo's here. Bobby, quit bugging him!" Warren's voice rose from the porch a couple of minutes later. ************************************ "They're here." AJ whispers to himself fearfully as he watches another black van arriving and parking itself in the distance. That makes it two. Granted that he didn't spent too much of a time in 'The Right', it was enough for him to recognize those black, dark-tinted windowed van that parked itself near each end of the street where his house is located. Pulling himself away from the window, he hurried into his own office and took out a small audiotape from the recorder he has been using that morning. He snatches a small brown envelope and quickly put the tape into it, sealing it carefully and hurried out of the room and on into the small guest room. There, he picks up a guitar and quickly slips the neatly folded envelope into it, before putting the guitar back into its place. Having done that, he hurried out of the room, closed the door and walks back into the living room, turning on the TV and rearranging the stuff there to make it looks as if he has been watching TV all afternoon. Then he walks over the window and pulls the curtain slightly to look at the vans again. "It won't be long now." AJ whispered softly. "No time to lose." Obviously, 'The Right' knew that he stumbled across their little secret project. The moment he left Howie's home about two days ago, he saw a familiar figure of a man standing under the trees near the gate. He saw the same guy again sitting in a car near his house when he went out for groceries. He remembered that guy. He saw that guy once during a meeting with the other members of 'The Right'. As soon as he saw that man, he immediately knew the danger that will eventually come for him. He had hoped... fervently hoped... that Howie would persuade 'The Right' to ignore him... obviously that is not the case now. Obviously his bestfriend... no... his ex-bestfriend... thought that their friendship is not important anymore. 'The Right' has sent their best agents to kill him, and Howie did nothing to stop it. "So be it." He murmured contemptuously. "If you want me, come and get me. But don't expect me to go down without a fight. If I'm goin' down, I'm takin' all of you down with me." They may get him... but not before he passes on everything he knew to Warren and destroy 'The Right' plan once and for all. Think the mutants are gonna let them go on with that stupid li'l project? Dream on dummy. He has been trying to contact Nick or Warren's phone for two days but for some reason they kept their phones off all the time. He has left several messages on their answering machine, asking them to call him back later, but they didn't... where the hell could they be? He wished he could tell Kevin or Brian everything but somehow, AJ has this dreadful feeling that they wouldn't believe his story and even worst, tell Howie about it and in doing so, bringing 'the Right' upon them... no... the only way is to find a way to have them deliver his info to Warren without them knowing it. He has already spent all morning recording everything he learned in that audiotape, which is quite a lot. Writing it all out would be too long and he is running out of time. If he is gonna die today, at the very least, he's gonna die happy knowing how he destroyed their li'l plan. Pressing the number on his mobile phone, he waited impatiently as the phone rings away as he watched the van carefully. What are they waiting for? "Hello?" a man's voice answered the phone at last. "Yo, JC. What's up?" AJ greeted cheerfully. "AJ?" JC of 'Nsync said in a surprise voice. "The one and only. Listen, buddy, can you do me a favor?" said AJ. "Sure. What do you need?" said JC. "Remember the guitar you left here during your last visit two weeks ago? You're coming over to collect it this week, right?" "Yeah. Why? Do you have to go somewhere?" "Actually yeah, but you can use the key I give you to get into my house. The guitar is in the guestroom. Is that okay?" "Sure. No problem." "There's another thing." Said AJ hurriedly as he saw another van arriving. "JC, I slipped a small envelope into the guitar. Buddy, Brian told me he invited you and the rest of the 'Nsync guys over to his house for his party. JC, I need you to do me a favor by giving that envelope to Nick." "Why can't you give it yourself?" said JC. "Won't you be there as well?" "No JC, I don't think so. And I don't have time to explain. Please, promise me you'll pass the package to Nick. It's *very* important." AJ pleaded. "Alright, alright. I'll do as you say. It's in the guitar right?" the positively mystified JC relented at last. "Yeah. And JC, listen to me. This is very important." Said AJ carefully. "You must tell no one about the package or where it came from. Got it? *No one!*. And when you give it to Nick, tell him to give it to Warren Worthington the Third. You got that, buddy? Warren Worthington the Third. Don't worry. Nick knows who he is. Please, JC. Please, I beg you. Do this for me." "AJ..." JC began nervously. "JC, *please!*" AJ pleaded. "Please, I beg you. I would explain it all to you but I just don't have the time tight now. Please! Do this for me. Do not tell anyone about this and tell Nick to do the same. It is *very* important that it reaches Warren. Please!" "Alright." Said JC at last. "I'll do it." "And JC... another thing... never, ever let Howie know about this or this phone call." AJ pleaded one last time. JC remained quiet for a moment before answering. "Okay, dude, you're freakin' me out here..." said JC. "JC!!" AJ almost scream as he saw the doors of all three of the van opened and uniformed men climbs out. Oh Geez! Mutant-Hounds!! The Right's top mutant hunters!! "Alright, alright, I'll do it! And I won't tell Howie." said JC as he closes his eyes and placed his fingers on his temple to ward away the headache that suddenly crops in. "But you better fill me in about what the hell is going on with you today." "Thanks buddy. I owe you big time." Said AJ as he hangs up before JC could say anything. Those bozos are on their way and there is absolutely no time to waste. With his heart beating wildly, he rushes out, grabs his car key, scrambled into the garage and on into his car. He needs to lure those people away from the house... away from the package... "Alright, 'buddy'." AJ smiled as he twists the ignition keys. "Catch me if you can..." Rick Grangier signaled the rest of his team quietly as he approaches the house. All around the perimeter, the Mutant Hounds slither quietly towards the house, taking great deal of care to always stay within the shadow of the twilight. Kirk Hendrickson's last minute changes in plan annoyed him to no end but if the bosses wish the kid to be captured instead of killed, then he has no other choices but to obey. Of course, it certainly doesn't make his job any easier. At least, killing the guy can be done from afar with very little preparations necessary. After all, how much work is actually involved in arranging a hidden sniper? Looking everywhere, he noticed that all of the attacking teams are in position and each team leader signaled to him the 'standing by' sign. Good. The quicker they deal with this, the better. Rick raised his hand and gave the 'attack' sign. The ambush was quick and efficient. One team burst into the house from the back, another from the side doors, while the last, through the front door. The kid wouldn't stand a chance of escaping... The sound of a car being turned on in the garage draw his attention away from the ambush however. 'Or perhaps he does...' he stares at the garage door. Even as the men rushes into the house, a car burst through the garage door, its tires screeching against the tiled floor loudly, throwing dust and smoke into the air. "After him!!!!" Rick shouted as he ran back to the van, his squads streaming back out from the house as they too realized what has happened. "Don't let him get away!! Move! Move! Move!!!" In less than a minute, the three vans were streaming through the freeway, chasing their quarry... 'This is gonna be harder than I thought.' Rick thought grimly. 'Damn you Kirk for wanting him alive.' *********************************** Next Tuesday, Part 36: 'Painful Memories'
