Date: Wed, 25 Aug 1999 22:32:23 CDT From: Jason Randall Subject: JC & Jas Part 11 Disclaimer: I am not assuming anything about the lives of anyone in this story. Many may wish things to be true, but who knows so don't be offended, just enjoy. If you're UNDER 18, stop reading this, and all that other legal stuff. This is my first attempt, and I know this story lacks sexual adventures, give it time, I want them to get to know eachother first, okay? I apologize now for any parts of the story that are screwed up. My computer just crashed and so I'm opening this on another word type to send it and it may not get the format set correctly. Jason found his seat with the help of an usher. It seemed they had set up small balconies for ticket winners over the radio, and that's where JC had put him. It was a section of four seats, about 6 feet off the ground, and to the right of the stage, hanging out over a platform led down to the stage. Jason was anxious to see if JC would come up on the platform to say hi during the concert. As Jason got comfortable he heard a loud, obnoxious scream starting to rapidly get closer. Sure enough, within the next minute thousands of 12 year old girls had started running into the area of general admission directly below him. `My God, how can the guys hear themselves sing?' As he was getting ready to go back to his car to try and find some ear plugs, he heard voices coming from the other side of the door onto the balcony. "Oh mi god, I can't even BELIEVE you won me these tickets April, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!" "Geez, yeah I know Kel, I heard ya the first ten million times! Now c'mon, it's right through this door, are you going to be able to handle this?" "Oh most definitely." "Alright." As Jason turned around the security guard was letting in the two girls he had just gotten through listening to. He assumed the one with a t-shirt with all the guys' faces on it was Kel. "Oh, hi! I didn't know we'd have company up here!" The one without N'sync memorabilia on spoke. "Um, yeah. I'm friends with the guys so I was put up here." "Shut up! You aren't actually FRIENDS WITH N'SYNC?!?" The girl, Kel he assumed, screamed. Jason was pretty sure if all the other girls below them weren't screaming they would have heard it in the upper deck. "Well, yeah." "Sure you are. And I'm dating Justin." Jason was getting kind of agitated. How dare this 14 year old tell him he was lying. "Funny, he hasn't mentioned you. Wait, your name isn't Britany is it?" Jason couldn't believe he'd remembered the name of the girl Justin had spoke about on the court the first morning they'd met. "Whatever." "Hey, Kel, leave the guy alone, he's up here isn't he? That means he's somewhat on the in." "Exactly. I'm assuming you aren't friends with the guys, too, otherwise she wouldn't be having such a hard time over there. So how'd you girls get up here?" Jason was trying to calm his temper down and the other girl was definitely older, not a complete psycho-fan. "I called all day long to win my sister these tickets on KDWB." "Oh cool." "Yeah, isn't she the best sister ever?" "Whatever. Anyways, this is Kelly, and I'm April." The non-fan spoke, sitting in her chair. "Ah, nice to meet both of you ladies. I'm Jason." "Cool. So how'd you meet the guys?" April asked. "Oh, I was playing basketball, well kind of, down at Wright Park, you know where that is?" "Oh sure." "Yeah, well they stumbled upon me. Anyways, I've never heard their music. No wait, that's a lie, I heard it all day watching them rehearse, but I've never heard them sing!" April laughed. "Well, move into my place for a day, you'll hear them and the Backstreet Boys sing enough to make you sick!" "Oh I heard the Backstreet Boys today actually! Thought they were N'sync. Believe me, don't ever get the two of them mixed up, they get very mean!" Both of them laughed. "Um, excuse me guys?" Kelly interrupted. "What Kel?" "Can we get back to the more important issue here?" "What's that?" Both April and Jason asked at the same time, laughing still. "I'm at an N'sync concert!!!" She screamed, causing both Jason and April to jump. "Oh, how dare we forget?" Jason asked, starting to like the girl. "Exactly." "Well, Kelly, do you want anything to eat or drink? I have free vouchers?" "Oh, that'd be great! I need water or my voice will go out before the second song!" "I can only imagine." Jason said, causing April to laugh. "Here you go," he said, handing her some of his vouchers, "Will you get me a bottle of water as well?" "Of course! April, you want anything?" "Nah, I'm cool." Kelly left, leaving April and Jason sitting in silence. "So," Jason started talking finally, "you're not a big fan?" "No, Kelly loves them though, and I figured she needed a really big birthday present. She's going to be 14 in two weeks." "Cool, I guessed she was about 14. How about you?" "No, I'm not 14." "Funny, I kinda figured that myself. How old are you?" Jason said, joining in April's laughter. `Hell, even if the music sucks I'll have fun tonight with these two. . .that's because it's like joking around with Sarah always was. . .No, I won't think of her tonight, it's her fault anyway. . .' "I'm 18, I'll be nineteen in 2 months." "Alright. Are you going to school?" "Yeah, I'm up at Century College. We live out near White Bear Lake." "Oh, ok." "So if you're not into the wonderful stylings of N'sync, what do you listen to?" "Anything that I like. Mostly rock and such. How about you?" "I'm into rock as well. Well, classic rock. Aerosmith is my favorite." "Cool, mine, too!" Jason said, getting excited. "Did you go to the concert?" "But of course. I went to both the concert here and the one a week later in Duluth." "Awesome. I could only go down here, but Steven Tyler grabbed and held my hand during part of the show! It was great." "Wow, you must have been close?" "Yeah, see these platforms that come out? You know how they came out at the concert all the way to the real seats?" "Yeah." "Well, I was in the front row, in the seat right by the platform. It was during "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" when he did it!" They were about to continue when they were interrupted by Kelly reentering the booth. "Hey sis, I got you some water, too, just in case." "Alright. Thanks." Out of nowhere the lights suddenly dimmed. "Ooh, I almost missed it!" Kelly started screaming. "Here we go!" April said, laughing with Jason as they settled back and some girl Jason didn't know came out to open for the guys. Backstage: "So, gonna be a good show Josh?" "Of course, Curly, when don't I put on a good show?" He joked, looking up from the mirror as he buttoned his shirt. "Well, it better be, you have a boyfriend to impress!" "Oh I KNOW! I'll make him love our music if it kills him. Or else at least my part of our music." "Well, that just might kill him. If he has to learn something, shouldn't it be my part, since I am the best and all?" "Nah, sorry Curly, I think he needs to hear a real man. Someday when you're older maybe." "Hah! I'm going to go somewhere where my age and experience will be appreciated!" Justin said, laughing as he left JC's dressing room. He walked down the hallway to Lance's room and knocked. "Who is it?" "It's me, Lance, can I come in?" "Not right now Curly." Lance said, trying to stop his tears as he changed. "Lance, what is it?" "Nothing, I'm just changing is all." "How many times have we seen eachother change, Lance? Geez." He said, entering the room anyways. "Justin, I said," Lance started to say; then he noticed Justin was already in the room. "Damn." Lance finished instead. "Lance? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" "You wouldn't understand J, it's ok, I'm fine, just releasing stress is all." "Lance, don't fool with me, I look young and all, but I've grown up fast, I know you, too. What happened?" "Nothing at all, I just. . .it's nothing." "Lance, remember I said you can tell me anything?" "Well, yeah." "And I meant it. So tell me what's bothering you." "I can't." "Why not?" "It's, I promised someone I wouldn't tell anyone about it." `God, that was great Lance, how the hell did you think of that one?' "Oh, so you're fine?" "Yeah, it's just something else. Someone else. They, they told me about a problem they were having and I can't help them so it upset me." `Geez, I need a drink.' "Oh, alright. Well, you're the only other one dressed, want to hackey for a bit, to get your mind off it?" "Sure thing J, I think that's exactly what I need." Lance said, pulling Justin out of the room after him. `Gotta be more careful Lance. . .you should know better. . .this is so unlike you, crying in such a public place where anyone could have come in, what if it had been JC instead? You wouldn't have been able to lie to him, you'd probably cry harder!' "Ooh, we have 20 minutes til show time! That's great, I'm so pumped for this show." Justin interrupted his thoughts. "Oh yeah, here we go! Can't wait!" Lance said, feeling like he was about to collapse. In the balcony: "Alright guys, this is it, when the lights go back down it's because N'sync is coming out!" Kelly said, standing up and getting excited. "Ooh! Ooh!" Jason started screaming, trying not to laugh. "Oh mi GOD, did you hear that April? N'SYNC IS ALMOST COMING OUT!" Jason started jumping up and down and pulling on April's arm. "Oh MI GOD I think I just SAW JC. . .No wait, it's a broom. . .Well WAIT! I think Justin just walked by with," he stopped and grabbed his heart, trying for the most sincere moment, "HIS SHIRT OFF!" he finished in a full scream, suddenly, causing April to fall out of her chair, she was laughing so hard by that time. On the other side he was getting nothing but dirty glares from Kelly. "Very cute Jason, now if you don't mind, the concert is almost about to start from those of us who came to SEE THE SHOW!" "Sorry, Kel, I couldn't help it, it's all the teenage excitement." He said, trying to stop laughing but failing. "Oh, you guys are no. . ." She was interrupted by the lights going down. Backstage: "This is it guys, yet another one!" Justin said, getting excited. "Here we go!" JC yelled. "After me guys!" Chris said, running out first. "Wait, let me!" Joey said, running after him. "This will be great!" Lance yelled. `Oh yay, I just. . .can't. . .wait.' Lance sighed as he ran out after the guys. On the balcony: "Hey Minnesota!" JC yelled, scanning the corwd for Jason. "How's everyone out there tonight?" The crowd responded with loud, but unintelligible answers. "That's great!" JC screamed back, trying to get the crowd into it. Jason couldn't help but wonder if JC was losing his hearing. `They're already burning my eardrums, I don't think they can get MORE into it.' Kelly meanwhile was leaning over the edge of the balcony, screaming uncontrollably. April just sat back with Jason, as they watched the guys work the crowd up and then walk to the back of the stage, facing the wrong way. "Geez," Jason yelled to April, "you'd think they'd at least face the audience?" "Wow, you really haven't a clue, huh?" April screamed, laughing. "They start out like this, it's one of the dance moves to their opening song." "Oh." Jason felt stupid when he heard Justin's voice ring out over the crowd. `Well at least I can tell they're singing this time. Guess their voices don't change as much as I'd thought they would.' Jason laughed with his brain's reference to his embarrassing moment from earlier. They sat through the first two songs and Jason couldn't get JC to make eye contact. `Geez, you think he'd have looked where he was putting me?' Just then JC must've noticed the balcony on the left for the first time because he ran up to it, causing the 3 girls in it to almost faint as the mother tried to calm them down. Noticing Jason's absence he looked disappointed, then noticed the opposite balcony and ran to the middle of the stage as Justin continued to sing. He stopped to allow Joey to throw him up in a back flip, then ran up the side to the right balcony and saw Jason's face before he even reached the platform. `God, he's so sexy. I love him so much.' JC realized it was his turn to sing, and started just before he missed the beat, looking directly into Jason's eyes. "You are in my dreams at night, whatever I do, you're always, on my mind, I can't wait until the day, when you and me are one and love will stay. . ." "Oh MI GOD!" Kelly began screaming and Jason had to grab her so she didn't fall off the balcony as JC turned to go back down to the stage. "JC was singing to me!!! DID you SEE it April? He was looking right at ME!!" Jason just smiled and helped stabilize the girl so she wouldn't fall again, at least not in the next 5 minutes. After the song, the guys took a short break and Kelly stayed at the balcony, awaiting the very moment they'd walk back on stage. Meanwhile April leaned in very close to Jason and yelled in his ear. "So how long's it been?" "How long's what been?" "Don't toy with me. You and JC? How long have the two of you been together?" "We aren't together! What are you talking about?" "Oh don't bother Jason, I can totally tell you're gay, and trust me, even if I hadn't seen for myself that JC was totally looking YOU in the eyes, I'd know just by the fact that it wasn't me, and I doubt he'd give that hot of a stare to a 13 year old! Besides, I saw you returning the stare, so you can't fool me." "Well. . ." "Exactly, so how long?" "Two days. But I've known him for three." Jason cringed, expecting the same reaction he'd gotten from Sarah. "That's great!" She yelled, giving him a hug. "I'm very happy for you. He's obviously in as deep of love as you are!" "Really? You think so?" "Definitely dear. I would have melted if any guy ever gave me a look half as full of love as the one he just shot you!" Jason smiled. `God, he really does love me, other people can tell.' "Thanks April, I needed to hear that." As they finished the music started again, much softer this time and five spotlights shot out upon five separate stools on different parts of the stage. As the each light went on, Jason heard JC's voice as he walked into the light by the stool on the platform near them. Jason searched for JC's eyes and caught them right away, JC singing loud and clear as he looked deep into Jason's soul. "In all of creation, all things, great and small, you are the one that passes them all, more precious than, any diamond or pearl they broke the mold when you came in this world," Meanwhile, April was doing everything in her power to keep Kelly from falling off the balcony again. "Little help Jason!?" She yelled, as Kelly swooned. "OH MI GOD, JC CHASEZ JUST SANG GOD MUST'VE SPENT TO ME!!!!!???" Jason broke out of the trance quick enough to jump up and help April sit Kelly down and give her some water to calm her down. As the rest of the concert went on, Joey and Chris each came up a few times to smile a hello to Jason, causing Kelly to almost go overboard again, but she almost passed out when Justin came up for his turn and actually grabbed her hand and gave it a kiss. After very little time, it seemed, the concert was over and the house lights went up. April had decided that they were going to wait a bit for people to leave, which was a good thought, considering Kelly could barely stand up anymore, she was in such shock. "Well, at least I know she got a good birthday present from me!" April yelled, still not being able to hear right from the concert. "Yeah, you could say that, she's in shock!" Jason yelled back. After a few minutes of silence they'd both regained their hearing, though Kelly was far from regaining her speech. She just kept mumbling in a very hoarse voice, "JC, sing, Justin, kiss, Chris, Joey, Lance, oh, my, no one, never believe me, god. . ." "Well, before we take off, give me your number so we can keep in touch?" April suggested. "Most definitely!" Jason said, getting out his wallet for paper as she dug for a pen. By this time Kelly was starting to come out of her shock, though her voice was still gone. She half whispered, half croaked, "Ooh, April, hooking up with the guy from the concert. Now aren't you glad I love N'sync so much?" April and Jason looked at eachother and laughed, and Jason shook his head. "Hey Kel, whaddya say I get you a birthday present, too?" "Sorry Jay, nothing's gonna beat April's gift. Justin, kissed, oh god, and JC sang.AHHH!" The scream came out with out sound, she just sat with her mouth open for a minute and a lot of air being released. "Oh, I dunno about that. I think I might just be able to top her." "What's that?" "I may be able to get you some autographs." "OH MI GOD," she screamed air again, jumping up and almost tackling Jason in a hug. "You couldn't? Could you?" "I told you we're friend, lemme see. Why don't you guys walk with me to the backstage doors, and then if I can't get the autographs we'll say bye? I don't know if the guys will want to tonight, but for sure I'll get them to get some before they leave town and I'll give them to you since April has my number." "Oh you're the best!" She yelled, coming out in a squeak as she hugged him again. They walked back stage together and were stopped by a guard. Jason showed him the pass and promised he'd be right out. Walking back the same way he'd left he easily found the group room he'd had his discussions, and alone time with JC in before. Hearing loud voices inside he assumed everyone had gathered there after showering. He knocked twice and heard Chris yell for him to come in. He walked in the room and all the guys yelled their hellos. "Hey back at ya guys. Say, I know you're tired and all, but I met these cool people I was sitting by, and would you guys mind signing something for one of them? She's going to be 14 in two weeks. It was her birthday present to come here from her sister." "Hey, why don't you bring them in?" Justin suggested, getting nods from the other guys. "We've got a meet n' greet in 10 minutes, so they're be like 20 people in here anyways. I think I saw this chick during the show. . . Yeah! I remember, I kissed her hand. Gotta be some extra passes somewhere around here?" Justin started searching and eventually found some. "Hey, great, she'll love me for this! I'll be right back." Jason went out and found Kelly and April waiting by a wall, looking very tired. "Hey girls." "Oh Jason! So? No luck?" Kelly said, noticing his empty hands. "It's cool though, if you do ever get the chance to get me some and you did I'd love you forever, but it's ok. You're still cool by me for offering in the first place. I give you the ok to date April." At this both April and Jason laughed. "Well, thanks for your permission Kel, and I'm sorry to disappoint you but the guys send their apologies for being too tired at the moment. Though, Justin did remember you. . ." He was interrupted by Kelly's loud shrieks. "HE REMEMBERED ME????" "Yes, yes, now calm down. He remembered you and wanted me to tell you something. I forget now, with all this commotion." April looked over at Jason with a smirk, knowing he had something up his sleeve. "For heaven's sake Jason, don't do this to me! WHAT did he want to say to ME?" "Oh yes, I remember now," Jason said, pulling something out of his pocket. "He wanted me to say that although at the moment they weren't in the mood to sign anything, you should stop by when they were, which was going to be at the meet n' greet in 10 minutes. He also gave me these backstage passes for both of you!" Jason started to smile and before both corners of his mouth were up Kelly was on him, actually taking him to the ground this time. "Oh Jason! I love you! You're the best!!!!!" April was laughing so hard at the sight she was crying. Drying her eyes, she started pulling her sister off Jason. "C'mon Kel, if you waste all your energy on Jason you won't have anything to show your desire to the guys with." Kelly immediately stood up, well composed and looking as calm as she had all night. "Shall we go now?" Jason and April began laughing hysterically. "Excuse me? We have some place to be now, and I believe some very important gentlemen are waiting." With that Kelly walked up to the guard and showed her pass, waiting for April and Jason on the other side. "Hey, April, about me and JC?" "Don't worry, my mouth's shut." "Cool, it's just the guys don't know, and the public CAN'T know, so I was hoping you'd. . ." "Just forget I know?" April interrupted. "It's as good as done." "Thanks." Jason said, giving her a quick hug. The three of them went backstage for the meet n' greet, and Kelly and April ended up being the last to stay. JC and Jason had been sitting next to eachother all night, with Kelly on the floor in front of them and Justin and Lance on a couch next to JC, goofing off as April, Chris and Joey were talking. As April and Chris started to go back and forth in a debate of some sort, though friendly, Kelly leaned in and whispered loudly to the other group. "Jason, I'm so sorry about April. I think she likes you, too. So don't worry about Chris. He's famous so they'll probably just be friends and you two can hook up!" Justin burst out laughing at this and JC looked very upset, shooting a death stare at Jason while Lance looked intrigued for the first time all evening. `Could Jason be bi?' Jason looked over to JC and shot him a quick look, hoping for him to listen before he got upset and he leaned down to whisper back to Kelly. "It's ok hun, April's nice but I'm not really interested in anything more then friends with her, she's not my type." Kelly looked very disappointed. Lance almost choked. "Um, I think I'm going to head back to the hotel. Getting pretty late." And he walked quickly from the room. JC looked over at Jason lovingly. Jason smiled back and April caught the glance as she had looked over to find out why Justin was laughing. "Well, Kelly, this has been fun, and quite a birthday gift for you but it's past midnight and you and I both have to get up early tomorrow. Thank the guys and let's go." "Oh April, couldn't we stay a bit longer?" "No, they need their sleep, as do you. Besides, the sooner you sleep the sooner you can take this film to school and show all your friends how you got to meet N'sync." "Thanks guys, you're the best!" she said, hugging each of them in turn. As she was leaving she ran back to Jason, "Are you sure you and April won't hook up?" "Sorry dear," he whispered back during their hug, "but we'll be friends so don't you worry, you and I will hang out lots, ok?" "Alright!" She said, running out the door. Turning back she yelled, "Jason I'll make April call you tomorrow!!!" Chris and Joey had missed out on the conversation from earlier so they immediately picked up on this. "Ooh, Jason you sly one. Picking up girls from our concert! No fair, we did do all the work, we should have first choice!" Chris said, laughing. "Yeah, you know me. Mr. Ladies Man." "Well, good sir, I'm going off to my hotel room now, I'm beat. Wanna share a cab Joey?" "You bet. Justin, JC? You guys coming?" "I am." Justin said, walking towards the door. "I'm not really tired yet." JC said, looking exhausted. "Me either," Jason said. "JC, wanna go hit some clubs?" "You bet, but food first man." "Well you guys have fun." Chris yelled as they walked out the back entrance. "Thought they'd never leave. Better grab some clothes, you're spending the night at my place this time!" Jason said, grabbing JC's hand and dragging him out to his car after he'd grabbed some clean clothes. Jason started the car and turned to face JC. "You were wonderful tonight, sweetheart. Your voice is absolutely beautiful, and when you sang to me I felt like I was the only one alive." Jason said, giving him a kiss on the lips. "I love you." "I love you, too." JC said, kissing him back. "Alright then, I have a nice evening planned for us." Jason said, putting his hand over JC's and heading towards his apartment. To Be Continued.
