Date: Sun, 29 Aug 1999 02:13:15 CDT From: Jason Randall Subject: JC & Jas Part 12 Disclaimer: I am not assuming anything about the lives of anyone in this story. Many may wish things to be true, but who knows so don't be offended, just enjoy. If you're UNDER 18, stop reading this, and all that other legal stuff. This is my first attempt, and I know this story lacks sexual adventures, give it time, I want them to get to know eachother first, okay? `Well that was the concert from hell. . .I can't believe he kept going up to see him during the show! Lucky thing our fans are 12 otherwise Kelly would have noticed JC was not even close to looking at her!' Lance began to pace in his room, starting to become agitated. He decided he needed to work on something so he could get his mind off things and picked up a copy of the schedule one of the managers had dropped by during the day. He started to look through the list of upcoming shows and began to smile. `This has got to be the best part of this entire day.' Lance picked up his cell phone and started to dial. In the hallway: "Hey J, wanna watch a movie in my room with Chris and I?" Joey asked, waiting outside his room for Justin's reply. "Nah, thanks anyways guys, I'm beat! Been a while since we stayed after hours talking with some fans like that. Need my beauty sleep and all now. Takes work to look this good!" Justin began to show his muscles. "Hah!" Joey started to laugh. "Nice try shrimp, I could take ya in no time!" Joey flexed his arm and Chris began to laugh. "Sorry Curly, he's got ya beat." "Yeah well I'm still far more gorgeous," Justin said, flipping his hair and batting his eye lashes. "Oh go to bed pretty boy! That little girl Kelly's got you full of yourself!" Joey said, laughing as he and Chris entered the room. `Why didn't you go watch movies with the guys?. . .I'm kinda tired. . .You're not even close to tired. . .well they were probably just asking anyways, Chris and Joey kinda have a thing like JC and I, asking but not really expecting anyone to join in. . .nah, they wouldn't have cared, you and JC never do. . .maybe Lance will want to do something. . .is that why you turned them down? So you could hang out with Lance some more?. . .Well he is closer to my age. He's also really funny and a blast to hang out with. . .kind of like JC. . .well, no, completely different from JC, I mean Lance is. . .well. . .Lance. . .and he's kind of cute. . .NO! He's just. . .well, he's. . ." "God, what's wrong with me?" Justin whispered to himself in the hallway. `You did have that thought last night. . .' Justin shook his head. `No, I was just thinking about things, and that had happened to me during the day, so it accidentally popped into my head. . .right?' "Ugh, I must be more tired than I thought." Justin whispered again. Just then he heard Lance's muffled voice from the other side of the hall, but he couldn't understand what he was saying. `Who's he. . .Oh! He must be on the phone with that Melanie chick. . .well, guess he's busy, may as well go to sleep now. . .' Justin walked into his room and closed the door. After cleaning up in the bathroom and changing into some flannel pants and a tank top he walked back into the living room part of his suite. `I'm NOT going to be able to sleep. . .well, Lance must be off the phone by now, maybe he'll want to hang out for a bit. . .and do what though? OH! I know, I'll see if he wants to talk about what was upsetting him so much earlier. I almost forgot, geez, some friend I am! I better go see if he's ok! Yeah, he was real upset earlier, as his best friend I HAVE to go see him. . .is that the only reason you're going? You could just as well ask him tomorrow, he's probably tired if he didn't ask anyone to go hang out. . .of course not, he's my friend and I want to hang out with him, too. . .kind of like Chris and Joey. . .well I just wasn't in the mood for a movie. . .' Justin was getting agitated by all his thoughts so he left his room and crossed the hall quickly, trying to block his mind out. He still heard Lance's voice coming from the other side of the door, but he knocked anyways. "Hey Justin, what's going on?" Lance appeared in the door with only his jogging pants on. Justin was staring at Lance's bare chest when he realized Lance had spoken and was waiting for a reply. "Oh, um, hey Lance. . .Want to hang out or something?" "Well, I'm on the phone. . ." "Yeah, I see that, but, um, when you're done? Want to watch a movie or something?" `Not in the mood for a movie, huh?. . .OH SHUT UP!' "Um. . ." Lance was about to say no when the voice on the phone started talking. "What?" he asked into the phone. "I said did you want to catch a movie?" "Oh, no, not you J, Melanie's talking. One second. C'mon in. Alright, what's that Mel?" Justin walked into the living room and sat on the couch as Lance talked to Melanie. He couldn't help but eavesdrop, though he didn't understand the conversation because he only heard one side of it. "I said, watch the movie with Justin." "Why?" "Because, it will take your mind off things for a while. You've had a bad day and you need time with a friend who wants to spend time with you." "You think that's it?" "Of course." "It's probably just because of everything else." "What?" Melanie was getting confused at Lance's half answers. "Hold on a second, Mel. Justin?" "Yeah Lance?" "I'm going to go out in the hall for a second to finish my phone call, ok?" "Um, sure Lance." Justin was a bit saddened that Lance thought he couldn't discuss whatever it was in front of him. `It's probably about why he was crying earlier, and it's supposed to be a secret.' Lance went out in the hall. "It's not that I don't like hanging out with Justin but it's probably just because JC is with Jason." Lance flinched at his own words. "Says who? James Lansten Bass, Justin is your friend, he wouldn't USE you, my god." "Well, I mean JC has been real busy with Jason," Lance flinched again, "and Justin's not used to being alone. Joey and Chris are always together and he and JC are together, so he's not used to it. I'm usually by myself, so I don't mind it, but he's not used to that, so he's hanging out with me cuz he knows I'm not with anyone else." "Oh geez Lance, didn't you tell me he caught you crying earlier? Earth to Lance, if he was only hanging out with you when JC's busy with Jason, god I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it that way." "It's alright." "Ok, so if he was only doing stuff with you for that, why didn't he spend all the preconcert time with him instead of you playing hackey sack?" "I dunno." "And you went shopping with him today, not JC." "Yeah, well JC probably would have said no because Jason was there." "Well, Justin doesn't know they're more than friends, so he probably would have assumed JC to say yes, but he asked you." "Well whatever." "Exactly, so hang out with the kid, you need to take time to relax." "He's not really a kid anymore." Melanie started laughing. "Well, then go hang out with that fine young gentleman and get off the phone with me. You're keeping me up past my bedtime." "Alright Mel, you do always know what's best don't you?" Lance smiled. "Of course I do. Now why can't I get anybody else to realize that?" "They're blind. But, I'll let you get some sleep. Oh, I have a surprise for you, too!" "You do? What?!" "Oop, I've got someone waiting to watch a movie, I'll have to let you go for now and tell you later." Lance said, smiling again. "You jerk!" "Serves ya right, `night sweetie!" Lance started walking back into the room. "G'night hun, I'm going to hurt you, but you sleep well tonight!" "Bye," Lance said, walking over to the couch and sitting next to Justin. "Alright J, sorry bout that, what movie are we going to watch?" "Coo, you want to catch a movie?" "Of course, couldn't possibly sleep yet." "Alright, let's see what's playing." In Jason's car: "Oh really?" JC asked, intrigued about Jason's plans. "Yep. I've just got to make a call real quick." "Oh, ok." JC replied, yawning as he leaned back in his seat. Jason dialed a number on his cell and began speaking. "Hi Chris, it's Jay. . .yeah, so I'll be home around 2. . .exactly. . .yep on the top of the mantel. . .perfect. . .alright, thanks again man!" Jason got off the phone and looked over at JC who had fallen asleep in the seat and was softly snoring. `God, he's so damn cute.' JC looked towards him as he thought it, almost as though he'd heard the words and woke up smiling. "I can't wait to see your place." "Really? I think you're a bit tired, you just dozed off." "Did I? I'm sorry, I'm just a bit overworked. I need to relax, I'm sure I'll be fine once we get there." "It's ok sweetie, I have a nice, relaxing evening set for us. But first let's go get something to eat." Jason was glad JC didn't hear the phone conversation so then he didn't have to think of an explanation. Chris was his landlord and had promised to go in and light the candles for him. "Great, I can't wait, as long as it's with you I know it will be perfect." In Lance's room: "Well. . ." Justin looked over to Lance. "These movies all suck." Lance finished for him. "Exactly my thought." "So whaddya want to do instead?" "Oh, um, I don't know." Justin didn't expect Lance to want to do something else, he figured he would just call it a night. "Well, let's go downstairs and get some coffee, how bout?" "Um, Lance?" "Yeah J?" "Well, I guess I could go looking like this, it's just real casual, but you're not even wearing a shirt, and I'm SURE the fans would love it but I don't think we'd survive the crowd." Lance looked down and blushed. "Oh gosh, I forgot I didn't have a shirt on." He crossed his arms, shyly, over his chest. "I should put a shirt on." He began looking around for a t shirt. "Nah, you don't need to!" Justin said quickly, causing Lance to look up. "I mean, why don't we just call room service and stay here for the coffee." "Well, I should put a shirt on still." "Actually it's hot in here, I was going to take my tank off." "Oh, well, it is kind of warm in here." Lance said, confused. `What's going on here? I can't believe I was just sitting there with no shirt on next to Justin. I'm never comfortable with stuff like that, but I don't even care that Justin's here.' Lance looked up and saw Justin taking his shirt off and walking over to the phone to call room service. Lance shook his head and sat down on the couch. `Geez, Justin really has grown up. I didn't notice how strong he's gotten.' Lance was staring at Justin's muscular back. "What kind of coffee Scoop?" "Oh um, latte. Vanilla." "Alright." Lance shook his head again. `Whoa Lance, you were just staring at Justin. . .well he is kind of cute. . .but this is Justin. . .you're just upset about JC, don't blow things now. . .if you do something stupid Justin won't be your friend and he'll tell the guys your secret. . .you'll be kicked out of the group and JC won't even be your friend anymore. . .but that kiss the other day, it was. . .NO! Justin's a friend. . .if you did anything to jeopardize that. . .' "So," Justin said, sitting down next to Lance on the couch, "now that we're getting coffee, we have to have one of those intellectual coffee discussions, so tell me the real reason you were crying earlier." "What?" "Tell me why you were crying earlier?" "I already told you." "C'mon Lance, who am I going to tell? Is there something wrong with Melanie?" "Um, yeah. . ." `Geez, think, quick now!' "Well. . .? Come on Lance, it'll help if you can talk about it. Otherwise you get emotional about it, and it becomes too much. Is she sick?" `Perfect.' "She thought she was pregnant." "She thought she was pregnant so you were crying?" `Oh geez, didn't think that one through.' "Um, yeah, because she. . .she thought she was pregnant and she was told when she was younger that if she ever has a child she'll die during child birth." `Damn, I watch 20/20 too much.' "Oh. . ." Lance could see Justin's confusion. "You see, she couldn't ever have the child aborted, Mel's too sensitive for that, so she would have the child and let it kill her. I was sad and was hoping the test would come back negative." `God, shoot me now.' "Did it?" "Did it what?" "Come back negative?" "Oh, yeah it did, thank goodness." "Oh, well that's good." "Yeah, real good." Just as Justin was about to ask another question someone knocked on the door. `Thank God, the coffee.' "I'll get it." Lance said, getting up and going to the door. "Thanks," he said to the bell hop, giving him a five dollar bill. "So what about that concert?" Justin asked. "What about it?" "Well, did ya think it went ok?" "Sure, they always do." "Well did we sound ok, ya think?" `God, I wanted to come here and now I can't think of anything to say. . .' Justin looked up from his coffee and caught sight of Lance's lean chest again. He was studying it as he heard Lance talking. "and so it wasn't too bad." "Yeah." Justin said, hoping that was a reasonable response to whatever it was Lance had just said. "So how's your family doing?" Justin had picked a perfect question because within minutes they were actually in a conversation about their families and laughing at old memories they hadn't shared with each other before. `Well, never fails, Mel was right, this is taking my mind off everything and I'm having a great time.' `I'm glad I did come over here. . .this is better then just watching a movie with the guys. . .besides, Lance and I never really had the chance to get to know each other past simple stuff; now we're getting close like JC and I, but still something's different then the friendship I have with JC. . .it's almost like Lance and I are linked together on a deeper level then just goofing off. . .' Lance came out of his thoughts first and realized the silence that had been going. "So ya want to watch some TV or something Curly?" "Yeah, anything good on?" "Of course not, it's TV, but we can watch anyways." Lance looked at his watched and realized it was past 3am. `Oh well, just a half hour longer, Justin's presence is keeping me happy. . .' In Jason's car: "Well here we are," Jason said to JC as he opened his eyes. "Looks great from the outside, can't wait to see inside." Together they walked into the building and onto the elevator, JC wrapping his arms around Jason as they ascended. "Anyone else live on your floor?" JC whispered into Jason's ear. "No, just me and Sarah and she's usually asleep by 11 on a week night." "Perfect, then I won't have to let you go." "You better not." Jason said, leaning back to kiss him briefly. "Alright, watch your step and all that." He started laughing. JC walked with his arms around Jason's waist as he led the way and began opening his door. As he fumbled with the key they heard the second elevator ding and the door started to open. JC let go of Jason and stood upright as Jason looked curious. In Lance's room: Lance and Justin had both fallen sound asleep to the mindless drones of late night TV and had ended up leaning against each other for support. They both lay there sleeping peacefully when Lance was awoken by a noise. He stayed still and looked with his eyes, too tired to really move, but almost jumped out of his skin when he noticed he had been leaning on Justin, and vice-versa. `Well, all of us have fallen asleep and just laid in a big pile before, no big deal. . .he's so cute and peaceful while he's sleeping, just like an angel. . .oh god, what am I saying?' Lance got up slowly as to not disturb Justin and walked over to his bed, grabbing a pillow and the comforter. He lifted Justin's head slightly to place the pillow beneath and gently covered him with the blanket. Fully satisfied he walked over to the bed and got in, staring at the ceiling. `If I wasn't in love with JC and if there was even the slightest chance Justin was gay I'd. . .don't finish that sentence. . .if you even start thinking that way you'll have a bigger problem to deal with. . .just work on one at a time, and the current one is getting over JC enough to not go into hysterics when he and Jason are together. . .' Lance rolled over and sighed. `What I wouldn't give for just one peaceful night's sleep. . .' Lance soon fell into a fitful slumber. In Jason's hallway: "Sarah, hello." Jason said, looking straight into her eyes this time. It was well past 3 and he was slightly concerned. "Excuse me." She said simply, walking past them and into her studio as Jason sighed. JC wrapped his arms around him again, as soon as he heard the door slam and whispered in his ear, "It's ok sweetie, she'll come around, just give her some time. . .I'll charm her and she'll realize all I'm after is your undying love. . .though I wouldn't mind just a little bit of these." JC began kissing him and Jason returned the kisses. "Mmm, you taste wonderful, let's go inside, I want to see your surprise!" Jason opened the door, crossing his fingers that the candles hadn't worn out yet, it'd been over an hour since he'd told Chris he'd be home. As he walked through the door he wasn't disappointed, every single one had stayed lit, as though in wait for their return. JC was stuck, partially inside the apartment, staring in shock at the candles and roses. "It's. . .it's. . ." "Do you like it? Is it too much? I just wanted to show you how special you are to me, I love you. . ." Jason began to get worried. "Oh, it's absolutely wonderful, I love you so much!" JC got his speech began and also gained a few tears in the corners of his eyes. "Oh, I'm glad you like it sweetheart, I just wanted you to know you mean the world to me." "And you to me love, and you to me." JC whispered back, kissing Jason lightly on the neck. Jason turned around and kissed JC on the lips and then grabbed his hand. "Come sit down, there's more." "More? My god. . ." Jason led him to the couch and had him sit, handing him the lone red rose he'd lain there earlier and walking over to the fridge to grab the wine. Pouring two glasses on the coffee table, he sat next to JC and turned the stereo on by remote. "This is wonderful! Much better then the hotel." "I thought you'd enjoy this, but here, the real surprise is to come." "Oh?" Jason grabbed JC's glass from him and set it on the table, then grabbed both of his hands and kissed him on the nose. "You're so cute, you know that?" "Oh is that the only reason you love me? Cuz I'm cute?" JC pouted. "No, you're sweet, too." "Oh really?" JC grinned. "I'm not that sweet." With that he leaned over and jumped on Jason, pinning his arms down and planting kisses all over his face. Laughing, Jason pleaded for him to stop. After one last kiss on the mouth that Jason promptly returned, JC pulled up. "Now I believe there was one more surprise?" Jason laughed. "Yes," he said, pulling a box out from in the coffee table, "here you go. I hope you like it." "Oh my. . ." JC opened the box to find a 24K gold ID bracelet. "Joshua Scott Chasez," he read off the front and flipped it over, "Love Eternal, J." "I love you, Joshua, as it says. Do you like it?" "Jason, my god, I absolutely adore it. I couldn't love it anymore because it's a part of you and I love you more then anything else." JC leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "Will you help me put it on?" "Of course, it'd be my honor." Jason placed the bracelet on JC's arm and kissed his hand. "Will you dance with me?" JC asked, a single tear rolling down his cheek. "You needn't even ask, my love, I'd love to." Jason leaned up and kissed the stray tear away, putting his hand under JC's cheek. "Don't cry Josh, I hate seeing you cry." JC sniffed. "I'm just so, I can't," he sighed. "I love you so much at this moment, and I thought I couldn't love you anymore but I do now." "Shh," Jason brought his finger from his jaw bone to his mouth, "Just dance with me." And they both began to sway to the music. "This truly has been the best evening ever, thank you sweetheart." JC whispered to Jason as he nibbled on his ear. "I couldn't have asked for anything better." "Me either, shall we get some sleep?" "Yeah, I'm exhausted." Jason led JC into his bedroom and both of them stripped down to their boxers, grabbed each other's hand and climbed into bed. Jason wrapped his arms around JC"s waist and laid his head under his chin, on his shoulder. "I love you." "Love you, too, sweetie, g'night." JC kissed Jason on the top of the head and both fell asleep quickly. In Lance's room: Justin woke up to darkness and realized he was in an unfamiliar room. `Where the heck. . .oh I must've fallen asleep at Lance's. . .' As he leaned up slowly he could hear Lance rustling around in his bed, crying out at times. `He must be having one heck of a dream. . .' "NO!" Lance suddenly yelled out, causing Justin to jump. `Geez.' Justin got up and walked over to his bed, seeing Lance thrashing around, looking very disturbed. "Shh, Lance, shhh, it's alright." Justin began stroking the blonde's head, whispering in his ear. Lance continued to strike out, scaring Justin. "Lance? Lance? Shh, it's ok. . ." Justin couldn't get him to calm down so he climbed into the bed next to him, laying beside him, and held his hand. "Lance?" Lance whimpered, though a bit quieter this time. Justin continued to run his fingers of one hand through his hair and held Lance's hand with the other. Soon Lance's had almost calmed down. Justin was beginning to relax when Lance cried out once again. "Lance?!" Justin was really worried now because he wasn't waking to his voice and he wouldn't settle down either. Leaning over he wrapped both his arms around him and laid his head on the older boy's chest. After a few minutes Lance had calmed down and seemed to be sleeping more peacefully, allowing Justin to calm down himself. Considering the only thing that had kept him awake for the past 20 minutes was his worry for Lance's well being, he fell asleep almost instantly, without changing positions. For the second time since their arrival in Minnesota both boys slept soundly in each other's arms. To Be Continued. Send all comments to jas_stories@hotmail.com.
