JC was standing at the end of it and I could feel the beating of my heart in my chest as I approached him. When I reached him he placed his hands over mine and I found myself staring into his sky blue eyes. "Josh, there's something I have to tell you." "What is it?" he asked. He was smiling. "Last night I walked by Lance's room and found him having sex with some guy." JC looked at me like he didn't know why this was concerning me. I continued. "I stood there and watched. I watched for a long time and eventually Lance asked me if I wanted to join in." JC's hands slipped away from mine and his sky blue eyes turned into cold steel. "Go on," he said. He was mad and getting madder. "That's it," I said quickly. "I ran back upstairs to you." "So you had sex with me while you thought about Lance?" His calm tone was making me more nervous than if he had been yelling. "No," I said, feeling the tears quickly forming in my eyes. "It wasn't like that. I was confused. I was in shock." "Spare me," he said dismissively. "Why didn't you just fuck him and enjoy yourself? Wanting too do it is just as bad." "But I didn't want to Josh. I don't want Lance!" "I can't fucking believe this!" His voice was getting louder. "I should have known I couldn't trust you. You've made this impossible from the beginning!" "Josh you can trust me! You can!" "I want you to get your things and get the fuck out of my house. You aren't worth this much trouble!" He turned away from me and started walking. I tried to catch up to him but for some reason I couldn't. My legs felt like they were in cement blocks. I called his name but he wouldn't answer. "Josh! Josh! Josh!" *** "Josh!" I yelled, jumping out of my sleep. JC came rushing over to me from the chair where had been sitting, tying his shoes. "What is it?" He sat down on the bed next to me and put his hand on my bare shoulder. "I, uh, was dreaming." "More like having a nightmare I would say." He brought his hand up to my head and rubbed my hair. "What was it about?" I looked into his clear blue eyes, the friendliest eyes I had ever seen. I couldn't tell him. I just couldn't. "I can't remember." "It happens," he said. He kissed my forehead and stood back up. He was so trusting that it made me feel sick. I looked at the clock on the nightstand and saw that it was only six in the morning. I remembered that JC had another early morning radio interview. "Do you have stuff to do all day today?" I asked, lying back down on the bed. "I think I can probably steal my way back here in the early afternoon. How about we go out on a little date then?" "A date?" I grinned. "I'll have to ask my folks if I'm allowed to." "Ok," he said, trying to play along. "Let me know what they say." He leaned over and gave me a brief kiss, then headed out the door. I raised my hands above my head in a brief stretch and for a moment I had only happy thoughts about being with the most wonderful man on Earth. But then I heard JC call to Lance to tell him that they had to get going and reality came snapping back. In less than two days I had placed my new and fragile relationship in total jeopardy. I was torn between blaming Lance, or myself, but I knew it felt a hell of a lot better to blame him. His threat to tell JC, regardless of whether or not he would actually go through with it, originally made me think that there would be no other solution other than to come clean and tell JC what had happened. But the look he gave me in my dream was giving me serious doubts about how he would handle it. I had told myself that he would understand, that he would see that I didn't really do anything to betray him. But I realized I might be grossly misjudging him. JC was a highly sensitive individual, and he cared for me deeply. If he felt betrayed by someone he was so close to, he may never get over it. The thought of JC telling me to get out of his life, after all of the living we had packed into our short time together, was too much to handle. I jumped out of bed and headed for the shower. ---------- "Don't tell him, whatever you do." Morris said. "Are you sure?" I asked, pacing around JC's living room, trying to find a spot where my cell phone got good reception. "Yes. Look, you didn't do anything right?" "Right." "But if you say something it will raise some serious doubts about your truthfulness, right? "Right." I hadn't mentioned to Morris about the possible blackmail. I was more interested in his gut reaction to what I had done. "Nate, you didn't do anything wrong. You got caught up in a moment. But if you start telling him about it he's only going to start wondering if you've told him the whole story." I hadn't thought about the fact that in my telling the truth, JC may think I could be lying about something else. Morris had made a good point. I had already waited too long to say anything. Lance had been JC's friend for several years, and if it came down to his word against mine, I couldn't be sure whom JC would believe. If Lance were willing to tell JC, maybe he would be willing to make something up, something much worse. By the time I closed the phone, I had come to the conclusion that telling JC would be a bad idea. It would make him doubt me and I felt that there was no reason for him to do so. This of course now meant that I had to figure out a way to keep the secret without giving in to Lance's blackmail. I knew how to play hardball with my career, but this was entirely different. Around noon I heard the garage door opening, so I ran down the stairs to greet JC. I almost ran back up them when I saw the hood of a BMW pulling in. I stood there for a moment, full of rage as Lance stepped at of his car. He saw me and waved in a friendly manner. Was the guy simply insane? "What's up?" he asked, walking up the stairs and into the house. "Just waiting for Josh," I said curtly. "Cool," he said. He brushed up against me as he walked through the doorway into the main part of the house. 'These radio people are real assholes, you know?" I couldn't understand what he was doing, but part of me started to wonder if he even remembered what he had said last night. He was drunk and maybe he was just being silly. We walked into the kitchen where Lance took out a bottle of orange juice from the refrigerator and started drinking from the carton. Something told me JC wouldn't appreciate that. "Where is Josh?" I asked him. "Oh, he'll be here shortly," he answered, sipping his juice. "So tell me, have you given any thought to our discussion at the club?" He hadn't forgotten. His tone remained as smooth as always, which was very creepy. "I think I made my position clear last night." "I know, but I just thought you may want to reconsider after having some time to think it over." "Lance, why are you doing this? I can't imagine you would want to hurt Josh and you obviously can bed down anyone you want." "Well," he began. "That would only be true if I could have you, correct? And what Josh doesn't know can't hurt him." "You want me to service you so that I can keep my boyfriend? This is like prostitution." "I know," he smirked. "It's kind of hot, I think. Don't you think so?" I realized that Lance was really into living out all of his fantasies and that I had merely become one of thousands of them. Everything was a game to him. "You know, Josh is under the impression that you're a really good guy." "I am." He looked almost hurt. "I just like to gamble." "But I'm the only one who could lose here." "Ah, that's the best kind of gambling." He smiled and put the orange juice back in the refrigerator. "Don't worry," he said after a moment. "You don't have to decide now. You're leaving on Sunday, right?" "Saturday." "Ok, so just, uh, 'give' me your answer before then. I can keep myself entertained in the meantime." He sat down at the counter and started flipping through a magazine. I could feel that my skin was completely flushed. I was so angry and so pissed that someone was exerting power over me. I had just told JC that I always had to have things go my way, and my sudden inability to do so was driving me crazy. Seconds later JC came walking in. He may have noticed my upset state because he gave me a strange kind of look before looking over at Lance. "Hey," he said to Lance. "I thought you had to meet with your management team." "I do," Lance said, hopping off his stool. "I just wanted to come back and change first. Later Josh, later Nate." He gave me a smile and walked to his room. "Everything ok?" JC asked, wrapping his arms around my waist and giving me a kiss." "Yeah, fine," I said, looking down. It felt good to have him around me. "Let's just get out of here." "My thoughts exactly," he said. "So are you ready for our little adventure?" "Um, sure," I said. "What do you have in mind?" "Well, you're going to have to change into something you don't mind getting a little dirty and sweaty. Something you can do some physical activity in." "Hmm, I like the sound of this." We went upstairs and I changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Josh pulled on a red sleeveless t-shirt and a pair of baggy khaki pants. I could tell that Josh never wore shorts because of his skinny legs. I happened to think they were adorable, but I guess we all had our vanities. Josh pulled a backpack out of his closet and I noticed him putting a blanket and a few other things in it. We then headed back downstairs and made a few sandwiches and put them in the bag along with a couple bottles of water. "Are we going hiking?" I asked suddenly. "Damn it," he said. "You guessed it." I grinned at him and we headed down to the car. Lance's car was already gone and I felt a bit relieved at its absence. JC pulled on a baseball cap and put on a pair of sunglasses before starting up the engine and pulling out of the garage. ---------- We headed to Griffith Park, which I had always wanted to go to ever since seeing "Rebel Without a Cause." There seemed to be a bunch of different entrances, which provided access to numerous trails. "The trails are all rated according to their difficulty," JC said. "Well then, I assume we will be doing the hardest one?" "Yup, it's also the most secluded," he said, wiggling his eyebrows. We parked and JC pointed me toward the trail he wanted to go on. "You can't do this in New York can you?" he joked. "Well, I guess Central Park doesn't lend itself to hiking, but it sure is pretty." The late May weather was clear and hot. A light sheen of sweat quickly covered JC and me as we started walking up the trail. We were hiking up toward the observatory, which I was anxious to see. Because parts of the trail were wide open, JC kept his hat and sunglasses on, as we would occasionally encounter other hikers. But for the most part we were in the thick of the woods, following a thin trail that looked like it was seldom walked on. It was difficult climbing up some of particularly hilly areas, and a few times we both had to stop the each other from falling backward. After about an hour of climbing, laughing and sweating, I began to see the top of the observatory. "We probably could have gotten up there in five minutes if we drove, right?" I jested. JC nodded in the affirmative, then brought his finger to his lips, suggesting that I should be quiet. He looked to his sides, and then darted away from the trail and into the woods. I didn't know what the hell he was doing but I started to follow. Whenever I went to speak he gave me a stern look, and then kept on walking. After about ten minutes I realized I could no longer see any trace of the observatory or the trail for that matter. I thought to myself that coyotes or bandits would kill us by dusk. We came to a small area of flat land. It was no bigger than a parking space. JC looked very pleased with himself as he pulled the blanket out of his backpack and spread it over the ground. "Hungry?" he asked, taking out the sandwiches. He was practically giddy. I gave him a confused expression and flopped down next to him on the blanket. "Is this your secret hideout or something?" I asked, unwrapping a sandwich. "Yes," he smiled. I found it when we first started out as a group, and have been coming here ever since." "I see, so is this the place you take all your boys?" I gave him a wink. "No," he said, shaking his head. "Actually, you're the first person I've brought here." "Are you serious?" My voice got higher, indicating how flattered I was. "But why me? Why so soon?" I was just about to tell him that I didn't deserve the honor when he said, "Because you deserve to be here with me. I want you to know how much you mean to me." I thought I was going to cry while I watched him searching for more words. "I haven't forgotten how new our relationship is Nate," he started. "But I wanted to remind you that I meant everything I said to you in New York and the other night. I know things don't work out for lots of reasons, and I can't predict the future, but I am willing to give you my all now." He was speaking with the same confidence he had that day he came to my dressing room to tell me he wanted my friendship. It was extremely attractive, and made me feel all the more sick at the idea of Lance causing a problem for us. I was at a loss for words after he stopped speaking, but while I stared into his ocean-blue eyes, so clearly full of warmth and love, I realized that I had made a decision. Lance would never interfere with the two of us. "Josh, I'll never let anything come between us. I'm a realist as well, but it's going to take a force of nature to drive us apart." I meant what I said, even if I didn't quite know how I was going to ensure it. I brushed my lips over his, keeping my eyes open, looking at his lovely closed lids. "I'm starving," I said, smiling. We ate our lunch and talked about a variety of different things. At some point I realized that we had moved past getting to know each other, and were now a real couple, sharing and caring for each other. When we finished eating I laid my head down in his lap and look up at the beautiful, lush surroundings. JC kept a hand on my head, lightly twisting my curls and massaging my scalp. I was just starting to get into a more romantic mood when I suddenly remembered Lance saying that he had slept with a lot of JC's boyfriends. I didn't know what that was supposed to mean and didn't know how to tactfully ask JC about it without alerting him to the conversation between Lance and I. I decided on an indirect approach. "Josh, have you had a lot of boyfriends?" He looked down at me and seemed a little embarrassed. "Um, I don't know how many is a lot, but I've dated since I was, like, in my early twenties." He paused. "Nothing has ever lasted very long though." "How come?" I asked, feeling a bit guilty for steering the conversation. "I don't know," he said, shrugging. "Different reasons. A lot of it I'm sure was do to people not being able to deal with me being a celebrity, or just wanting to be with me because I was a celebrity. And then almost all of them ended up cheating on me." I realized JC must have known what I felt like when Mark broke up with me. I reached up and stroked his face. "I'm sorry you had to deal with that," I said. "Yeah, I think the worst part was how they would act like it really wasn't a big deal, like it was just part of the deal, or part of being gay or something." He shook his head in confusion, and then paused again. He looked as though he was hesitating telling me something. After a few moment he finally gave a forced laugh and said, "Actually a lot of them cheated on me with Lance." I couldn't believe that he knew. "What?" I asked, moving myself to a seated position. "And you stay his friend and let him stay in your house?" "Believe me, there have been many times when I stopped speaking to Lance, but for the sake of the group I could never just drop him." "But Josh, how could you have someone around you that has that much disrespect for you?" "I don't know. I mean, you know how Lance can be. He never acts like he's doing anything wrong, so you find yourself struggling to stay mad at him. And in a really fucked up way, he did help me weed the bad ones out. That was the explanation he would always offer." "And you bought that?" JC didn't strike me as being that much of a pushover. "Well, it's true in a way. If someone was capable of cheating on me, I wouldn't want to be with them. Lance was just taking what was offered to him." I had to remind myself that I had not cheated on JC. "Well, that's one way of looking at it." "Lance is just a bad kid, but I still think he has a good heart. I guess you can see now why I'm so concerned with his behavior all the time." I wondered if he was worried about Lance trying to tempt me, but was too scared to get that close to the subject. I laid back down in his lap. "Sounds like he needs a good swift kick in the ass," I said. It felt good to be able to say something mean about Lance. JC may have thought he had a good heart, but I didn't. We talked a bit more, mainly about our wishing that we had more time to spend with each other this week. We tentatively talked about what we were going to do when I went back to New York, but didn't really want to deal with the reality of the situation. At some point I felt something stiff against the back of my head, and it took me a moment to remember what I was laying on. "Uh, Josh?" I laughed. "Is the pressure of my head disturbing JC junior?" "It's not just that," he smiled, leaning down to kiss me. He shifted his body so that he was on top of me. I felt a bit like we were two teenagers up at Lover's Lane. "I want you," he said, lightly slipping his tongue in my mouth. "But Josh, here? What if someone comes by? How can you be sure?" "Well, I can't be completely sure," he said in-between kisses. "But in all these years I've never seen a single person around here." I thought again about the coyotes and the bandits as he started lifting my shirt up. I lifted myself up a bit so that he could pull it off. I realized that I would just have to take my chances. He pulled his own shirt off while still lying on top of me, and soon after I could feel our warm chests pressing together as we continued to make out. The air was warm and a bit sticky, intensifying all of the sensations I was feeling. JC kissed my throat, then moved to my shoulders. He kissed them lightly before moving further down my chest. He traced his tongue down the valley between my pecs and then fastened his lips over my right nipple. I moaned as he started nibbling and lightly sucking on it. I brought my hands up to his head. He moved lower until he was licking my abdomen, and fumbling to undue the button to my shorts. Without his lips leaving my stomach, and with one hand, he undid my zipper and placed his hand over my cloth-covered crotch. I sighed as he felt my cock through the fabric, outlining its shape with his finger. I propped myself up on my elbows, and watched him pull my shorts off, then my boxer-briefs. My cock was fully hard and he grasped the shaft in his hand, rolling his lips over the head. Slowly, he moved his mouth down the shaft until I could feel his lips brushing against my pubic hair. I marveled over the squareness of his shoulders as his neck moved up and down. He fondled my balls with one hand while undoing his pants with the other. I saw his long cock flop out, and my mouth practically watered as he began stroking it. I loved knowing that sucking my cock was turning him on so much. As much as I loved feeling him on my dick, I had to taste his cock. I pulled him off my cock, and rolled him onto his back, engulfing his cock with my mouth. My hands cupped his hard pecs, and twisted his nipples, causing him to moan. There was always a feeling of nervousness when having sex with JC. I wanted to consume so many parts of him, I didn't know what to do with myself. I wanted to suck and rub his abs, his chest, his arms, his legs. There wasn't a part of him I didn't find intoxicating. Our pants and shorts were still around our ankles, so I paused for a moment to get the two of us completely naked. I took off his shoes, looking at his long cock stretching up to his bellybutton. JC watched me, propped up on his shoulders, breathing heavily. "We are so good together," he panted. "I know." I went back to his cock, determined to deep throat him. When I felt his pubes against my lips he made a sound and brought up his knees so that they were on either side of my head. I grasped them and pulled them away from each other, causing his legs to spread wide. I started sucking on his balls, and pushed my hands under his ass, squeezing and feeling. I slid a finger up and down his crack, causing him to make another noise and drop his head back. His hole felt moist with sweat and I pushed against it, making JC squirm. I saw JC extend his hand, and noted the beautiful muscles in his arm as he reached for his backpack. He couldn't quite make it, but looked quite determined so I quickly used my tongue to lick my way up his chest, then leaned over and handed him the bag. He took it in his hand and kissed me, holding the back of my head with his other hand. He pulled away and smiled, unzipping the bag. He pulled out a strip of condoms and the lube from the house. He looked very pleased with himself. "You came prepared," I laughed. "Like a boy scout," he said softly. He eased me down onto my back and started kissing my chest again, sitting to my side and stroking my cock quickly. He wanted to get it really hard. I was starting to leak precum when he stopped and opened up the condom and started rolling it down my engorged cock. "I've been going nuts not having you inside me these past few days," he said, lubing up my cock. He moved so that he was facing me, his knees on either side of me. He grasped my cock from behind him and positioned himself over it. His head fell backward as he felt my large head pop into him. It was good to feel the incredible tightness of his ass again. He lowered himself, groaning a little until he was completely seated on top of me. His cock still stuck straight up and his balls were laying on my stomach. I laid perfectly still as he began slowly moving up and down on my cock. His hands were on his own thighs and I loved watching the look of pure pleasure smooth across his face. I started slowly rocking myself by the balls of my feet, already resisting the urge to cum. I propped myself up on my elbows again so that I could watch JC ride me. I could feel the lips of his ass rolling up and down my shaft and wished I could see it. The rays of sunlight filtered through the dense trees and I thought about how gorgeous JC looked in nature. It was the perfect backdrop for him. JC started to alternate between moving up and down, and rocking back and forth. "You feel so good," he moaned. Sweat completely covered his body and I marveled at how his chest looked. I briefly brought a hand out to stroke his nipple, but quickly had to go back to resting on both of my elbows as he grabbed onto my shoulders and started to ride me faster, making a variety of sounds. His hands slipped down to my pecs and pulled at the hair on my chest, sending all sorts of strange feelings through me. I collapsed down onto my back, completely in ecstasy. I lifted my head up and saw his cock bobbing back and forth, fully hard with its slight curve. It was leaking like a faucet. JC looked into my eyes, then down at his cock. "Pull me, pull me!" he begged. I grabbed his cock and practically started yanking on it. It was so hard and slick that my hand was soon covered in his juices. JC tightened his grip on my chest and rode my cock so fast that I thought only someone with his stamina could reach such a speed. "Ugh," he moaned. "Uhh, uhh!" A thick rope of cum flew out of his cock, hitting me in the chest. He then started spraying smaller amounts all over my stomach. Feeling the heat of his cum set me off and I started shooting inside him, my neck muscles straining as my head involuntarily lifted off the ground. I kept stroking him long after he stopped ejaculating, as his sounds suggested he was still having an orgasm. He kept clenching his ass muscles together, milking the last drops of cum out of me, causing me to quiver. He collapsed on top of me, his cum sliding over the two of us. We started deep kissing and once again I was completely happy. We lay like that for a long time, eventually separating as JC moved back to a seated position, grabbed the base of my cock, and eased himself off of it. He winced a bit as he did so, and I sat up, caressing his face. He moved off of me and I pulled off the well-used condom. I was just about to toss it into the brush when JC came over and took it from me with a tissue. "Hey," he laughed. "Don't litter my sacred space." He rolled the tissue into another one and put it in a pocket of his backpack. I gave him a funny look and then we just sat there for a while, naked and content, staring at each other. JC looked up and my eyes followed. The sky had turned to dusk and we hadn't even realized it. "Shit," he said, pulling on his shirt. "I don't think I'll know my way out of here if gets much darker." I thought once again about the coyotes and the bandits, and frantically started getting dressed. ---------- We got back to the car safely, and I made a mental note to start all future "hikes" a bit earlier. We didn't talk much on the drive home, but it wasn't uncomfortable. I started thinking about Lance again and almost had to hold back tears as I thought about him ruining things between JC and I. I started thinking. How does one get rid of a blackmailer without giving in to him? I no longer believed he was possibly just joking. I saw through his personality, even if JC didn't. We were entering JC's neighborhood when his cell phone rang. "What?" I heard him say. "Didn't we think that was tomorrow? Shit! Ok, I'm almost there." He told me it was Lance telling him that they had gotten the date of the Larry King interview wrong. They had to be there in less than an hour. He looked at me apologetically for not being able to spend the entire evening with him, but I told him not to worry about it. I would have a similar schedule soon enough. We pulled into the garage and Lance came down the stairs. "Let's take your car, Lance," JC said. "I want to leave mine for Nate." "No problem," Lance said. He was his normal, chipper self. "Sorry about stealing your man away from you Nate. I'll try to have him back to you as soon as possible." I didn't respond as the two of them climbed into the BMW. JC looked at me. "I feel bad leaving you," he said. "Don't be silly," I said. "I'll find someway to busy myself." "Yeah, he'll be fine," Lance chimed in. "He can watch a video or something." A light went off in my head as Lance spoke. Suddenly it all seemed so simple. I looked directly at him. "Lance, that is a terrific idea." I watched the car turn down the street, confident that in a short time, Lance would no longer be a problem. To be continued
