Lance commented, patting his stomach contently after the meal he had just eaten of ribs and corn on the cob. Tyler nodded, distracted. He had been like that all throughout dinner, worried, apprehensive. "Ty, why don't you tell me what's wrong." Lance asked while placing his napkin on the table. Tyler didn't even look up, it was almost as if the command had gone unheard. "Ty?" Lance questioned him again, concerned. This time there was a flicker in one of his eyes, and a small droplet on his cheek. Lance was amazed, Tyler was crying. Now. On their first date. He didn't even bother to question Tyler again, he simply stood up and, after placing one of his hands on Tyler's hand, led him quietly into the living room. Tyler followed, still not talking. His mind was running a mile a minute, his mouth a mile an hour. That was a very bad combination. Lance settled back on the couch, pulling Tyler down ontop of him. The two layed there for a while, not saying a word. Then Lance began again. "Tyler. Please, baby, tell me whats wrong." Lance asked. Tyler didn't reply, a couple tears rolled down his cheeks, but that was all the response Lance recieved. That didn't stop him, however. He continued to question Tyler. Finally, Tyler spoke. "Megan said something... right before she fell asleep." Was all he muttered, and Lance sighed. He needed to work on Tyler talking more, trusting him more. "What did she say?" Lance asked, intrigued. Tyler just shook his head. "I've known you for less then a week Lance. I can't burdon you with my problems. That just wouldn't be right." He explained. "Let me be the judge of what's right and wrong, okay? Please tell me." Lance said, softer this time, as if he was scared of waking someone. Tyler sighed. "She said... she said... that you remind her of Matt." Tyler finally explained. Lance nodded. From what he had found out about Matt from Tyler, they had been close. Very close. "Why did that upset you?" Lance asked, a couple minutes later. "Why do you think it upset me?" Tyler shouted, enraged that lance had dared to ask that. Lance sighed. "Tyler, I don't know who Matt is, but from what I can tell, he seemed like a great guy." Lance explained. Tyler just nodded. Then he stood up, shocked. Standing in the doorway was Megan, whimpering a little. "Megan, sweetie, what's wrong?" Tyler asked, rushing over to her. She began to softly cry. "Meggers, come on, tell your Uncle Lance what's wrong." Lance commented, joining the conversation. "I had bad dream." Megan finally said, in between her tears and whimpers. Tyler hugged her close and began to whisper that they were only dreams over and over again. Lance hugged her also, but then stood up. He walked over to the doorway and picked up a wrapped box that was sitting by his coat. He walked over to the crying child. "Meggers, I got you this." He said, handing her the present. "You shouldn't have." Tyler commented, looking at the package. "Don't tell me I shouldn't have. I wanted to!" Lance smiled, looking at the girl. She was ripping the present open. With a squal of surprise, she held up the video cassette Anastasia. "Look daddy!" she exclaimed, holding it up. Then her small arms wrapped themselves tightly around Lance's legs. "Tank you!" she screeched. He smiled, ruffled her hair, and nodded. Tyler opened the video cassette and placed it in the vcr. Maybe watching some of the movie would calm Megan down enough to get some sleep. Lance sat back on the couch and got lost in the world of the Romanov's once again. This was one of his favorite animated movies of all time, the music was incredible, the story well written, and it had this magical air to it. Tyler noticed this and smiled faintly. At least they were off the subject of Matt for the time being. By the time Anastasia was home once again with her grandmother, Megan was curled up in Lances arms, fast asleep. Her face was innocent and sweet, she looked so loving, so carefree. Tyler smiled slightly, and readjusted his attention to the movie. The three of them, well, the two that were still awake, watched the rest of the movie. By the time the closing credits were on, Tyler loved the movie. Glancing at Lance, he saw Lance lightly place Megan on the couch. Then he stood up and looked Tyler directly in the eye. "Dance with me." He whispered, holding out one of his hands, beconing Lance. "Alright." Tyler agreed, standing up. He walked into Lance's arms, feeling comfortable and safe. He lightly placed his head on Lance's shoulder, resting it there while the words captivated his brain. We were strangers Starting out on a journey Never dreaming what we'd have to go through Now here we are And I'm suddenly standing At the beginning with you No one told me I was going to find you Unexpected what you did to my heart When I lost hope you were there to remind me this is the start and life is a road and I wanna keep going Love is a river I wanna keep flowing Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey are we there when the world stops turning are we there when the stories through in the end I wanna be standing at the beginning with you we were strangers on a crazy adventrue never dreaming how our draems would come true now here we stand, unafraid of the future at the beginning with you and life is a road and I wanna keep going Love is a river I wanna keep flowing Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey are we there when the world stops turning are we there when the stories through in the end I wanna be standing at the beginning with you Knew there was somebody somewhere Let me alone in the dark now I know my dreams a river I've been waiting so long nothing going to tear us apart and life is a road and I wanna keep going Love is a river I wanna keep flowing Life is a road now and forever wonderful journey are we there when the world stops turning are we there when the stories through in the end I wanna be standing at the beginning with you and life is a road and I wanna keep going Love is a river I wanna keep flowing on starting out on a journey life is road and wanna keep going loving is a river i wanna keep flowing in the end i wanna be standing at the beginning with you By the time the song was finished, Lance and Tyler were holding eachother close, lost in a a hug that had taken over them. The words of the song were heard, yet at the same time, they weren't. Their meaning was lost in the grander of the moment. Finally Tyler looked up and saw Megan sitting there, grinning. "Megan! Why aren't you asleep?" He teased while gently letting go of Lance and walking over to her. She shrugged. "Meggers, shame. Shame!" Lance said, pointing a finger at her. "Tomorrow your going to be to tired to hang out with us!" "No! NO!" Megan screeched, shaking her head violently. "Yes, Yes!" Tyler said, nodding. Lance nodded too. "I go bed!" Megan said, getting up and running as fast as her legs would carry her into her bedroom. Tyler just laughed a bit. "Great idea Lance." He commented, a few seconds later. Lance nodded. "Did you mind?" Tyler finally asked. Lance looked at him, confused. "Mind what?" Lance asked, staring at Tyler. "This." Tyler said, gesturing around the apartment. "This... staying here tonight... watching a movie..." "Why would I mind Ty? Megan is the sweetest girl, your a blast to hang out with...I like hanging out with you." Lance said, staring at Tyler. "Your sure? You could have done so much more tonight... instead of being stuck here with me and a kid." "I'm sure." Lance said, walking over to Tyler and gently clasping his head. Before Tyler could twist his head away, they were involved in a sweet kiss. Lance's lips gently commanded Tyler's, telling them what to do. Tyler moaned a couple seconds later, but Lance didn't stop the assult. Tyler didn't want the assult to stop. He brought his hands up and dragged Lance closer to him. The two got lost in the kiss, coming up occasionally for air, but mostly just memorizing eachother's lips. Finally Lance lifted his head and brushed one of his fingers accross Tyler's swollen lips. "Still think I minded?" he asked, smiling slightly. "Nooooooo" Tyler said, shaking his head violently. "That's better. Now, If I remember correctly, right before we had our little movie marathon, you were going to tell me something. Still want too?" Lance asked, looking down at Tyler a bit. "God... Lance..." Tyler moaned, dropping his head. He began to stare at the ground. "What Ty?" Lance asked, using his hand to gently lift his head up. "Don't look at the ground. I want to look at you. Stare at you." "Lance... I want to. I want to so much. But it's hard." Tyler managed to get out before breaking down into a sobbing mass. Lance pulled Tyler onto the couch, rubbing his back gently all the while. "I'm here Ty. I'm here." Lance whispered. Tyler continued to cry for a little while, but eventually he stopped. "Lance..." He moaned. Lance continued to gently rub his back, indicating he was here for Tyler. "Where do I start?" Tyler questioned. "I always thought the beginning was a good place." Lance said, smiling. "Alright."
