Chapter 15 They say that time flies when you are having fun, yeah well that holds true even if you aren't. The past few weeks have been crazy busy. Lance and Justin's families left the day after Christmas, and the rest of the guys returned the same day. Wednesday that week was the day that my nieces and nephew had their special day with their own member of 'NSYNC. Everyone had a great time doing their thing. I spent the day starting preparations for my wedding. Lance and I had picked our date, February 25th, which is now just two weeks away. Lance's band mates went back to their respective homes on New Year's Day after a great party at my house. I was totally stoked that Mike Brown and his boyfriend were able to come up for the party, even if they were only in town for sixteen hours. I was finally able to get one of his amazing hugs, they're better than drugs to make you feel good. Lance still has not fully moved in yet. We were saying how amazingly perfect everything was. Well that sort of fell apart when Lance told his business partners that he would be telecommuting. They were not happy. He has been working night and day to make this work out, he decided that he was going to move his businesses to Boston. I have barely seen him, and if it wasn't for the smartphone, Lance would have had no input on the wedding. He was not able to be there for a single appointment so far. We aren't even going to be able to spend Valentine's together. But he is so worth all the frustration that we have gone through. My friend's have been amazing in helping me out with the wedding. Lance and I decided that we did not want a huge affair, so we limited it to our immediate families and closest friends. Including Lance and I there were only thirty-five people. The wedding was going to be at a small hotel that a friend of mine owns on the waterfront and we had a justice of the peace officiating. Tribora and I went to Paper Source and made the invitations ourselves. They were beautiful, white with silver stars, the same as the theme for the wedding. Everything was going to be white or silver, including these gorgeous silver Oscar de la Renta tuxedos that I found for Lance and myself. We decided that with such a small wedding that we didn't want any attendants. It would be too hard to pick and choose anyway. The cake is an amaretto sponge cake brushed with peach schnapps and filled with peach mousse, and an amaretto buttercream icing. It has two tiers and is pretty traditional looking, one smaller circle on top of a larger one. I did find this amazing cake topper made of glass, pearls and platinum, it looks like a shooting star, with two little grooms sitting on one point of the star holding each other. Heidi went with me for the menu tasting. We picked out a nice four-course menu. A grilled crabcake with rémoulade on a bed of grilled vegetables was the appetizer, then a salad of romaine with goat cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes and fresh chervil with a lemon thyme vinaigrette. The main course was filet mignon with a brandy green peppercorn sauce served with a medley of baby vegetables and saffron and cabernet whipped potatoes. And mini tartes with lemon filling flavored with Grand Marnier and topped with macadamia crumble, whole carmelized macadamia nuts and white chocolate. We decided against having flowers. With half my family allergic to practically anything that grows, I knew that having real flowers were going to be a problem. Instead I was able to convince Lance to go with a floating candle centerpiece. I found on the internet a kit that included a cylinder bowl, one large silver glitter star candle and three small ones. It also came with twelve glittered stars that attached to the sides and bottom of the bowl. With one week to go I thought I was in pretty good control of the situation. Everyone we had invited was coming. Flights and hotels were booked. I had everything under control; that was until Mike called. His job was transferring him out to California, and with having to find an apartment and getting ready to move, he wasn't going to be able to make it to the wedding. Then Joey called and said that he and Kelly were fighting and Kelly wouldn't be coming to the wedding, and he wasn't sure if she was going to allow him to bring Brianna. I broke down, thank god Tribora was with me in my kitchen when I did. "Bora, what else can go wrong?" "HR, things aren't that bad. It's only a couple of people who won't be able to make it. You know that Joey will do his best to make sure Brianna is there, and you have plenty of other friends who will be coming. You can't ask Mike to give up his dream job for you. This is what he has been working towards for years." "I know, but two bad calls on one day? What if Bruce decides that I can't use his hotel, or the caterer backs out?" I tried to continue on my rampage, but Tribora stopped me. "HeathRiley, you look at me right now! This is okay. You can work through this. Stop focusing on the negative and think about the positive. In less than seven days you will be getting up before god, pledging your love to Lance. Does it matter who else is there? Does it matter if you have the perfect reception? No, none of these things matter. The only thing that does is Lance." "You're right. I need to focus on Lance." "Why don't you go in your room, lie down and call him. I'll stay here and finish working on the centerpieces." "But what if he is busy?" "Heath, its Saturday. Even if he's working, he can take a break." "Okay." I walked into our room, lay on the bed and pressed one on my phone. It rang once before it was answered. "Hi Ry, what's up?" "Jamie," I was on the verge of tears again and Lance could hear it in my voice. "Sweetie, what's wrong?" Now I was crying. "Ry, honey, calm down and tell me what's wrong." I took a few breaths and I was finally able to speak. "Jamie, things are not going so good. Have you talked to Joey?" "Not since yesterday." "He and Kelly are fighting and she isn't coming to the wedding." "Ry, I'm sure that they'll be fine by next week." "Jamie, she went to her mother's with Bri. Joey said that Kelly might not even let him take Bri to the wedding." "What!?! How can she do that? She knows how important Bri is to me. I'll give her a call. Maybe she'll listen to me. What else is wrong, I know that you wouldn't be freaking out just because of this." "Mike isn't coming either." I said sniffling. "Oh, Ry, I'm sorry. I know how important he is to you. What happened?" "His job is transferring him to California. We're never going to see each other." "Ry, you've flown to Vegas to see Abbey and Mike, what makes you think that you can't fly to California?" "It's not that I can't, it's just that I probably won't. I already miss him so much and I saw him only a few weeks ago." "You'll be okay. He can fly back east, and you can fly to him." "I guess you're right. It's just that hearing two people backing out with only a week to go freaked me out. Jamie, when are you coming home?" "Soon. I hate that you've had to do this all by yourself." "But you were there with me every step of the way." "Hold on one sec, I have a call that I have to take." Lance put me on hold. I was feeling better, but I knew that I wouldn't be 100% until I had him in my arms again. In the past seven weeks we had only been together for three days altogether. Tribora poked her head in my door. "HR, I just finished up the centerpieces, so I am going to head out. I'll be over tomorrow after you get out of work to work on the favors." "Thanks Bora, I'll see you tomorrow afternoon." She left my room, and I heard her walking down the hall, but I didn't hear the door open or close. "Ry you there?" "Yeah, I'm still here. Do you know when you'll be here?" "Very soon, I promise. But I have to go now. I have to go handle a little fire." "Okay, I love you." "Love you too." I closed my eyes and wished that Jamie would be able to hurry up and finish everything so that he could finally come home for good. I heard the front door open and close, but instead of silence, I heard footsteps in the hallway. "Bora, what did you forget?" "Nothing." My eyes opened and I shot up in bed. "Jamie? Are you really here?" I ran to him and grabbed him close. I couldn't stop hugging him and kissing his face. "Ry, sweetie, let me breathe." "Jamie. What? How?" "I told you that I would be home soon." "But, how did you get here?" "I flew." He chuckled. "Tribora knew didn't she?" "Yeah, I called her to check on how you were really doing. I knew that even though you wouldn't tell me, that the pressure was getting to you. I told my partners that they were just going to have to deal with the way I wanted to do business or that I would pull out. We finished up a few things, and they conceded to my demands. Then I packed up the rest of my things, put the house on the market and flew home to be with you." "God, Jamie, I love you so much. I missed you so much." "I'm here now Ry, and I won't be leaving anytime soon. What can I do to help?" "First you can make love to me, and then you can help with the seating cards." "I think I can make that happen, but only if we skip the seating cards until much later and you make love to me." I kissed him in response. At first slow, just nipping at his lips, then pushing my tongue up against his. He took over at that point. Massaging my tongue with his, rubbing his hands along my chest, pulling at my nipple ring. We walked back towards the bed. He undressed me, and I undressed him, one article of clothing at a time. When we were unclothed, I made my way onto the bed, and lay on my back. Lance pulled at my shoulder, indicating that he wanted me to lie on my stomach. He wanted to take me from behind and I had no problem with that. I pulled up my knees against my chest and leaned on my elbows and forearms. Lance probed at my rosebud first with his tongue, and then his fingers. Once he felt I was ready he lubed himself and entered me slowly. It took a while for me to adjust to his size. "Jamie, it has been too long." "Oh, Ry, but you still feel so good." He was finally able to push through the tight ring. He made love to me like only he could. It did not take very long for either of us to cum, and when we rejuvenated, I made love to him, just the way he likes it a little rough, and lots of dirty talk. Later that night, when we finally took a break from the bedroom, we were sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee and working on the seating cards. "I still can't believe you are here." I said. "Me neither. But I'm so glad I am. Is Leyton sitting with her parents or the kids?" "I have her and Bri with the kids, their table is between the family table and Joey's table. So I'm not worried; the older kids will watch the younger ones." "Yeah, that makes sense to me." "Should we make a separate card for Kelly, in case she and Joey make up before next Saturday?" "We have extra cards, right?" "Yeah." "Make one for mister and misses and one just mister. This is the first time they've fought this big. Kelly has never retreated to her mother's. I'm really concerned." "I know sweetie. You'll call her tomorrow and see if she'll at least let Joey bring Brianna." "Yeah. Are we almost done? I'm really tired." I looked at the clock. It was after midnight. "Jamie I'm sorry, I didn't realize how late it was. This can wait until tomorrow when I get home from work." "You sure?" "Yeah, let's go to bed." We went to our bedroom, stripped, climbed into bed and fell asleep. When morning came, I got up and went to work. My day was absolute hell. Nothing went as planned. There was a mix up with a function room for one of our top clients, a robbery in the restaurant and the fire alarm went off not once, not twice but three separate times. I had planned on going food shopping on the way home, but I was dead tired, and just plain pissy. I called Lance when I got in the car. "Hey sweetie," he said answering his cell phone. "Hey," I said dejectedly. "What's wrong?" "Crappy day. I know that we have no food in the house, and I just don't have the energy to go shopping or cook for that matter." "No problem Ry. Where do you want to go?" "No, you're still going low profile. We can order in, or I can pick up something on the way." "Ry, people are going to know that I'm moving to Boston. The press releases are already out there about moving the base of my company here. We can go out together." "I'd rather just spend the time with you alone Jamie. I have barely seen you for the past six weeks." "I know, and I'm sorry for that. Do you want me to call in an order somewhere, so that it's here when you are?" "Sure. In the kitchen, next to the fridge is a basket with all the good places that deliver." "What are you in the mood for?" "Anything except for Thai." "How about Greek?" "Perfect. I want a salad, no olives, and some spanakopita." "Sounds yummy, I think I'll get the same. I'll call in an order, and I'll see you in a few. Love you." "I love you too sweetie, see you soon." I hung up the phone and drove the rest of the way home. I turned the music in the car up real loud. I needed to release some of my anger from the day before I made it home, and loud rock music always helps me calm down. I did not want to subject Lance to a nasty me. We have so much to double check and really only five days to finish it all up. I know that the stress level in the house is going to be high. I made it to the house before the food, but that was okay. I wasn't starving. Lance greeted me at the door with a single white lily. "Are you okay?" He asked. "I'm better. You didn't have to get me a flower." "I know; I wanted to. I love you Ry." "I love you too Jamie." I hugged him and gave him a light kiss on the lips. "What's the plan for tonight? What still needs to be done?" "Ry, why don't you take the night off from wedding planning? There isn't that much left to do. Tribora came over earlier and she and I did the favors. And she took the centerpieces, favors, seating chart, place cards and sign-in book over to Bruce's hotel. He was meeting her there and locking it all up in his office. I already checked with him, the linens are being delivered tomorrow, and the food is all set. The champagne is also being delivered tomorrow." "Thanks for doing all that. Did you check all that off the to-do list?" "I am the most anal retentive person you know, do you really think that I wouldn't." The doorbell rang. The food had arrived. Lance went to the door and got it. He came back with two very large bags. "Sweetie, that looks like more that just a couple salads." "That wasn't enough for us for dinner. I ordered a little more." "A little?" "Ok, a lot." "What else did you get?" "Some lamb dishes and some appetizers." "Well I guess we can always give Ben the leftovers. That boy is always eating." "Very true, but honestly I hope that there aren't much leftovers. I can tell that you haven't been eating well enough. And I know that you haven't been working out with Ben as much." "I've been doing fine." "Your ribs are poking through." "So maybe I wanted to lose some weight?" "Ry, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you. I just know how stressed you've been and how it's mostly my fault. I haven't been here, I wasn't putting you first." "Jamie, you run a multi-million dollar corporation, and are directly involved in three others. Of course you had to put work ahead of me temporarily to be able to be with me. I understand that." "You have got to be the most amazing person in this world." He looked at me with those green eyes, and I fell in love all over again. "Let's eat before I decide to just take you in the bedroom and have my way with you." "Why Mr. Lindsay, how crude." He said emphasizing his southern accent. "You know you love it." I winked. "Oh, yes I do." He was giving me his bedroom eyes. "Jamie, stop it. You were complaining not two minutes ago that I was too bony for you." I said grinning. "Okay, now that was just too corny. You set the table; I'll set up the food." Dinner was amazing, and I have to say that I ate more in that one meal than I had in the past few days. We enjoyed a relaxing evening together. Cell phones were off, house phone was set to go directly to voicemail, and Lance put a do not disturb sign on the door that he had swiped from the hotel during his stay. Not that he was in his room much, but you get the idea. After watching a movie in the den, we took a long bath. When the water turned cool, we went to bed and made exquisite love the whole night.
