Chapter 16 When Friday finally came, I was in straight panic mode. I was totally freaking out. I wasn't panicking about marrying Lance. I was panicking because we still had to go get our marriage license. Once we did that, our relationship was going to be out in the open. There would be no hiding anymore. Not that we hadn't been preparing ourselves for this, but I was comfortable being out. I never had to hide who I was, Lance did. I was worried for him. For the media, and the fans who would treat him differently. He tries to tell me that he is okay with coming out publicly, but I don't believe him. I remember that conversation two months ago when he was so afraid that Matt was going to out him. We were very lucky that Matt never did anything. His radio station had been banned by Jive Records, with the understanding that if he never said anything, they would lift the ban within a year. I was standing at the island in the kitchen staring at my to-do list. "Sweet stuff, it's time to head to city hall," Lance came up behind me and put his arms around my waist and laid his head on my back. "Are you sure you want to do this? We can just have a ceremony and not make it legal." "I am positive. I want to become Mr. James Lance Bass-Lindsay. I want it to be official, and I want the world to know how much I love you. Please stop worrying. I want to do this with all my heart." "I don't think I could love you more than I do right now." "Good, now let's go. I don't want to miss getting the license. Why did we decide to wait to the last minute again?" I turned around, looked down into his eyes and raised an eyebrow. "Stupid question, I know." We walked into the front hall, I grabbed my keys off the hook and I locked up the house. "Ry, do you have enough change?" "Change for what Jamie?" "The T." "You want to take the T?" The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority or MBTA is made up of subway, bus, commuter rail and boat lines. Most people refer to the subway as the T and everything else as its name. My house is very close to the B train of the Green Line, which would take us right to city hall. "Ry, when are you going to realize that I am not afraid to be with you in public?" Lance asked. He looked like he was about to cry. "Jamie, I'm sorry it's not that. It's just that it takes over an hour to take the B line to Government Center. I figured it would be faster to just drive in. I know a bunch of shortcuts. And we are kind of pressed for time." "No, I'm sorry. You're more familiar with Boston than I am. I should have realized that you were going for efficiency." He took me in his arms and kissed me. Right there in the middle of the driveway. "Jamie?" I was confused. "I am not hiding anymore. I will touch and kiss you in public, because that's what young couples in love do." "But Jamie, you hate public displays of affection, and I'm not too keen on them either." "Okay," he grinned. "You're right. That was totally out of character for me. But I wouldn't be opposed to holding your hand while we're out." "That I can handle." I gave him a hug and opened the car door. He got in and I went around the other side to get in the driver's seat. We drove to city hall. I gave Lance a quick tour of the city as we passed by landmarks or important streets. "You are going to have to give me driving lessons. I am never going to figure out this city on my own. What's with all the random one way streets?" "This city was built up as people moved in. There is no rhyme or reason to most of it. Speaking of which, when does your car get here, because we'll have to come back to city hall to get you a resident parking permit." "Actually my car isn't being shipped up anymore. I decided to sell it." "Uh, Jamie, public transportation is great and all, but you really need to have a car." "Oh, I know. I'm getting a new one." "Oh, okay." "Ry, don't be like that. One I can afford a new car, and two I decided it would be better to have something a little more stable for New England winters." "When are you going car shopping?" "Already did. I have the registration with me, and the paperwork to get the parking permit." He said smiling. "Oh. So what did you buy?" "A silver Range Rover Supercharged edition, with navy interior." No way, that is my ultimate dream car and I know that it costs over $90,000, hence the reason that I could never buy it. I was so jealous. Up until that moment, it hadn't mattered to me that Lance was famous and that he was a multi-millionaire, because he never threw it in my face. Now, it hurt that he would shove his wealth at me. "Nice car." "I thought you would like it." "Uh, yeah I do." "That's why I got it for you." "Huh?" "Ry, that car is my wedding present to you. I got myself something else." I felt horrible about the thoughts that I was just having. "Okay. So what did you buy yourself?" "Promise not to laugh?" "Sure." "A fully loaded Volvo XC70 all wheel drive, in blue." "Um, Jamie, that's a station wagon." "I am fully aware of that fact. I didn't want another SUV, but I needed something with a lot of room for when we have a family." "Jamie, are you serious?" I know that we had talked about wanting children way back when we were only talking online. We had never approached the subject since we've been together. "Yes Ry, I am. We both want children and whether we adopt or use a surrogate, we both want a large family. That's why I got the child restraint seats and the third row too." "You're joking." "Nope, I want to be prepared. Now let's get out of the car, walk over to city hall, get two parking permits and one marriage license." It was then that I realized that not only had I finished the drive downtown, but had parked the car in a garage as well. "Okay, I'm ready." I paused. "Um, Jamie?" "Yes, sweetie?" "You do realize that I can't afford to give you a $90,000 wedding present?" "Ry, I know. And I know what I ask of you next is going to be hard for you, but. . . Once we are married, all of my assets will become yours as well. I would like to think that you would be 100% comfortable in sharing my money with me, but I know that you won't. You will still think along the lines of yours and mine, and that is ok. But don't ever think that you need to compete with me, or think that I am throwing my wealth in your face. I just want to spoil the love of my life." "Jamie, you are right. That will be hard for me. Only minutes ago when you were telling me about the Range Rover, I was getting so jealous. I know that you knew that was my dream car. And it is so amazing that you got it for me, but that is exactly what I was thinking, that you were throwing it in my face and I am so sorry for thinking that way." "Ry you don't need to be sorry. I know you well enough to know what was going through your head. I love you." "I love you too," and there on the steps of city hall I kissed my love. It did not take a very long time to get everything done at city hall. Afterwards I brought Lance over to the Union Oyster House for a late lunch. When we went home, I was exhausted. The week had been so hectic with finalizing everything. Lance and I decided to take a bath and then a nap. I turned on the jets in the tub, and climbed in. Lance climbed in and leaned up sideways against me. His shoulder was digging into my sternum, but I didn't mind because he was kissing my pecs. When he started to play with the nipple ring, I knew I was not going to get that nap I needed. "Jamie?" I moaned. "I need you Ry. I need you to be inside me." I reached down and grabbed his cock. I stroked it, up and down. "Not in here, I want to be in bed with you," he panted. We got out of the tub and quickly dried off. Together we walked to our bed and lay down. I started to kiss Lance's collar bone. He was rubbing his hands on my chest. He gave my nipple ring a hard tug. I was in ecstasy. "No foreplay. Just take me." I looked at Lance, I saw his desire. I would do anything to make him happy. I slid into his ass, and was amazed when he just kept clenching his ass cheeks tighter. It was as if he was trying to draw my dick into him even more. I started to push and pull, in an out. Harder than ever before. My balls slapping his ass, his ass rippling. Our bodies were slick with sweat, I was having trouble staying in the position I was in. I flipped us. I was on my back, and Lance was now riding my cock. I pulled my knees up to give him some balance. But he was having none of that. He didn't care how our bodies were, he just wanted my cock buried deep inside his ass. He slowed the rhythm, and while still sitting on my cock, turned so that he was facing away from me. He turned his head back to me and said, "sit up against the headboard." I sat up, put my hands around his waist and moved us up against the headboard. My cock was further up his ass than it had ever been. He started to slowly move his hips in a circular motion, grinding himself against me. I started to pull on his cock. I was sucking on his neck. The only sounds heard were our moaning. His body shivered, and I knew he was about to come. I felt that deep churning inside my body and did not hold back. I came, and then he did. We stayed like that until we could both breathe normally again. He went to move off my lap. "Don't. I want to stay inside you." I shifted our bodies down the bed and leaned back. Lance leaned back with me, and I moved us on to our sides. We fell asleep with me still inside him. Two hours later we were startled awake by the phone ringing. "Hello?" I asked when I answered it. "Uncle Heath?" "Yeah, Kayla. What's up?" "Why aren't you here yet?" "Where?" "The rehearsal dinner. It starts in half an hour. I thought we were supposed to meet you here early. We had Mom drop us off at the hotel." "Oh shit. I forgot. We'll be there as soon as possible." I hung up the phone and dragged Lance into the shower. "No nookie, we don't have time. We're supposed to be in Quincy right now," I said. "What happened, I thought we had plenty of time this afternoon." "We overslept. Now hurry up." We raced through out shower and getting dressed. It's a good thing that we had already laid out what we were wearing that night. The rehearsal dinner was not a formal affair. Actually we weren't even having a rehearsal. It was just everyone getting together for dinner the night before the wedding. I knew that both my friends and Lance's had wanted to throw us bachelor parties, but neither one of us were into that, so we decided to have one big party. As I drove us to the hotel in Quincy, Lance was getting fidgety. "Sweetie, what is wrong?" I asked. "I'm worried about Joey. He still hasn't told me what is wrong with him and Kelly." "Jamie, he'll tell you when he is ready. At least be happy that Kelly let him bring Brianna with him for the wedding." "I know. I should be thankful. But I am just so worried about him. He has never been this distant." "Let's see if we can get him to open up tonight. We'll pull him aside, but no getting angry if he doesn't want to talk, okay?" "Okay." We got to the hotel five minutes before our guests were due to arrive. There was so much that I had wanted to do, and now none of it was going to get done. The dinner would still be fine, it was just those finishing touches I like to have. When I walked into the function room, it was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. It looked like one of the kids had found my to-do list and went at it. Everything was perfect, from the silk flower arrangements to the pictures of Lance and myself scattered around the room. "Kayla, where are you?" I called out. "Behind you Uncle Heath." I turned around and brought her into my arms. I swung her around and planted big kisses all over her face. "Thank you so much for everything. You made this room look beautiful." "It wasn't just me. The others helped too." "Well then, I thank you all for an amazing job." "Me too," Lance piped in. "I could never pull something like this off." "No problem. We were happy to do it," Ben said. Hugs were exchanged all around. And the rest of our guests started arriving. I noticed Brianna running into the room, followed by her father and this really gorgeous guy that I've never seen before. "Jamie, who is that guy with Joey?" "Oh that's his friend Drew," he paused "Drew? Why is he here? And why are they holding hands like that?"
