Ashley demanded that they come here and get DNA tests to make absolutely sure that this wasn't just some long elaborate story. A doctor opened the door and they both turned their head at the same time to face him. "Hello, my name is Dr. Coulson. I have the results of your tests." The doctor said Ashley sat up and waited patiently for the words that could change his life forever. Randy sat back. He already had this speech. "The test results show that you two are in fact brothers. Twin brothers, not identical." The doctor said. Ashley seemed to stare right through the doctor. He had a feeling it was true. He doubted anyone would go through that much trouble to find him and make up a story and willingly go to the hospital. It was reality now. He could no longer deny it. "Mr. Parker." The doctor said but both responded by looking up. "Randy...the show indicated you as HIV+...how are you doing?" the doctor asked. "I've been better." Randy said as he was talking to the doctor but noticed Ashley had gotten up and started to drift away as he walked. Randy thanked the doctor and took his number in case of anything and ran over to Ashley and walked behind him. The twins walked out of the hospital and Randy followed Ashley over to a park that was attached to it. He sat down and stared out into nothing. Randy felt bad for him. He just met this kid but he felt like he had known him forever, not only because he's been chasing him forever but because this was his brother, whether either of them liked it or not. "Ash, I know this is hard for you. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago when I found out. I just want you to know that I'm here for you." Randy said as he put his hand on his shoulder "I feel betrayed," Ashley said, as he didn't flinch a muscle Betrayal was a feeling that was all too common to Randy. He knew how much it hurt. "You gotta remember that it was a rough situation when we were born. Our parents weren't exactly in the best state of mind and our mom felt that this was best for us. We both grew up in a healthy environment and had a decent life for ourselves." Randy said. Ashley thought about it for a second. He turned to look at Randy. "I want you to meet somebody." Ashley said with a look that seemed to hold hope and despair all at the same time. Ashley and Randy drove around for a bit, Ashley pointing out some stuff in Orlando as a tour guide would a sightseer. Ashley made a bunch of phone calls but seemed to be getting frustrated that he couldn't find the person he wanted. "Who are you trying to find?" Randy asked. "Nick" Ashley responded. "Can I ask you a question?" Randy asked "I know what the question is gonna be so I'll answer it. Nick is my husband." Ashley said. "Wow, good job Ash." Randy said with a laugh. Ashley waited a second then realized it was ok to laugh again. This didn't mean his life was gonna get worse. It might even get better if that's possible. "Thanks." Ashley said with a smile. "Can't find him?" Randy asked. "No, but I think I know someone who might know where he is." Ashley said. "Who?" Randy asked "Justin Timberlake." Ashley said as he turned the car around. "I'm related to a celebrity." Randy muttered with a smile as he looked out the window. Both men had a laugh over it. Ashley pulled up to the large house about 20 minutes away. He walked up with Randy and knocked on the door. No answer. He hit the door again a little harder. Still no answer. This time he gave it a real good pounding. He heard some rustling in the house. Justin came to the door and it seemed like he had been sleeping. The tear stains on his face showed he was doing something else too. Ashley reminded himself to talk to him later about it. "Timberlake, thank God you're home." Ashley said. Justin started to rub the sleep out of his eyes. He looked out and saw two guys. He recognized Ashley and the other was a mystery to him. "Parker?" Justin asked using the nicknames that he, Ashley and Nick had. "Yes?" Randy answered not realizing this. Justin gave Ashley a questioning glance. "I'll explain later. I'm looking for Nick. He took off and I can't get a hold of him. I think he might be upset. Would you have any idea where he is? I can't find him." Ashley said. Justin thought about it for a second. "I don't know, we used to go to this one place when the two of us were upset. We found it a little while after we started touring and stuff." Justin said. "It's worth a shot. Can you take us to it?" Ashley asked with a plead in his voice. "Yeah sure let me get my keys." Justin said as the three of them hopped in his Mercedes. They pulled up to a secluded beach. There were barely any people on it. "This place is beautiful." Randy said as he got out and looked around. "Me and Carter always came here whenever we wanted to get away from it all." Justin said walking along the beach. He came upon the place on the rocks that he and Nick used to sit at trying to forget about life. As if guided by some divine hand, Justin was right. Nick was sitting on the rocks looking out over the ocean, the wind pushing through his blond hair. "Randy, stay here and tell Timberlake what's going on. I'll be right back." Ashley said as he ran off. Randy watched as Ashley ran away then eventually slowed down and started to talk to Nick. "So..." Justin said trying to start off an awkward conversation. "Oh sorry...I'm Randy Parker" Randy said shaking his hand. "Justin Timberlake...did you say Parker?" Justin asked "I guess the best way is to just come out and tell you...I'm Ashley's twin brother, separated at birth. I chased him over here to try and tell him since I just found out. Do you know you guys are impossible to get a hold of?" Randy said. Justin laughed. "That's why we pay the big guards. So that's pretty exciting stuff huh?" Justin asked "Yeah but what sucks is that I would have never known unless a lot of shit went down...I have a son and I'm a single father. The problem is that I'm dying from AIDS and I need someone to take care of him." Randy said looking out over the ocean "Wow" Justin whispered watching Nick and Ashley walking towards them. Nick came up to him and gave him a hug. A small sign of thanks. "I'm sorry that I walked out before on you guys but I got very weirded out by the whole situation but Ashley explained everything to me and I'm not sure whether I want to tell you I'm sorry, thank you or welcome home." Nick said confusing himself. "A simple handshake will do." Randy said with a smile as he shook his hand. "Randy, this is Nick Carter, my husband." Ashley said. "Very impressive Ash." Randy said. "That's what people tell me." Ashley started trying to lighten the mood. "I wanted you to meet Johnny's other new dad." Ashley said with a proud look on his face. Randy stopped and exchanged glances with Ashley. He had actually done it. "Awesome, I can bring you guys to go see Johnny right now if you want. He's back at a hotel with a friend of mine taking care of him." "Let's go" Nick said getting excited. Randy took the key out of his pocket and opened the hotel room door. "Donna you in here?" Randy called out Donna walked out of the bathroom with Johnny in his hands and Randy could hear Ashley gasp at how beautiful he was. "There's my boy" Randy said as his eyes started to tear. It was time to say goodbye before it was too hard on Johnny. He took the baby in his hands. "He's beautiful" Ashley said as he smiled at the baby. "Johnny..." Randy started slowly, "These are gonna be your new parents buddy. I'm gonna have to leave you." Randy said as he started to cry. The last thing he wanted to do was leave him but he had to. All he wanted to give this boy was a normal life he never had. This was the only way he thought that he could. Johnny looked confused and Randy wanted it that way. He didn't want his son to understand yet. "Goodbye son. I'll always remember you." Randy said as he kissed him on the forehead. "Ok guys he's all yours." He said as he handed him over to Nick with tears in his eyes. The new parents held Johnny in their arms smiling and playing with him. Randy took a step back and admired the way they took care of him. He knew this was the right choice. Nick made a proposition to Donna about her working for them but he barely heard it. He just watched his son as long as he could before he had to give him up forever. Ashley walked over to the corner where Randy was standing watching everything with tears in his eyes. The twins just stared at each other for a minute then Ashley grabbed him and embraced him in a hug. "Thank you..." Ashley began He squeezed a little harder as both twins robbed of their childhood together clutched to hang on to whatever they had left. "Brother" -July 28, 2001 Randy looked out over Orlando. Nick and Ashley had put him up in a much nicer hotel than the one he could originally afford. He stared out off the balcony looking at all the buildings and people. He couldn't believe it but he was actually doing this. He was actually giving his son away. The papers had been signed and it was complete. Johnny was all he had left. He knew that Nick and Ashley were the right fit and he felt undying comfort knowing that Johnny would be safe. What made it so hard was that he knew that giving him up meant accepting that his life was over. He knew he was dying. He felt like shit these past few days. He was ready to embrace death. Maybe. Randy loved life. He wanted to live but he didn't have much say in the matter now. He walked back inside so caught up in these thoughts that he barely realized that his body was shutting down. It wasn't until he hit the floor that his world stopped spinning. All he remembered before he passed out was a maid knocking at the door to do her hourly check that Ashley had set up. Donna was sitting in the Carter house just tucking Johnny in for his nap. She finally had a chance to sit down and relax. It had been a pretty emotional few weeks and the runaround was pretty crazy. Just as she put her feet up the phone rang. She swore under her breath as she got up and answered. She almost dropped it when she heard the hospital on the other line tell her that Randy had passed out and had been rushed there. She hung up the phone and then picked it back up and called the cell phone number on the fridge. "Hey Donna, is everything ok?" Nick asked worriedly "Everything is fine with Johnny and the house Nick." She said as she heard Nick take a sigh of relief. "There's something else wrong though. Johnny is in the hospital. Get Ashley over there as soon as you can. Call me when you find out more information. I'll take care of Johnny here." Donna said "Ok thanks Donna. We'll be right there." Nick said ---Orlando hospital Randy was weak. That's all he knew. He couldn't feel anything but weakness. He wanted to scream, yell and jump around complaining but not only did he not have the strength too but that just wasn't his style. It wasn't worth it. Some people are dealt with different cards then others and these were his. He played them as long as he could. It was his turn to meet the big man. He was ready. Maybe not before a few visitors. He watched as Nick and Ashley walked in and sat down next to his bed, Nick a little off in the distance. He gave them a weak smile as Ashley took his hand in his. "How are you feeling Randy?" Ashley asked with concern in his eyes. "I've been better" Randy recited his famous line. "What are they telling you?" Ashley asked. "My THC count is done. It doesn't look good." Randy said as the smile faded. "I'm so sorry." Ashley said as he put his head down. "For what?" Randy asked "For not being there. You've been through so much more than I was. I should have been there to help you through it." Ashley said. Randy just looked on at his brother with pride. "Ash, it's not your fault. I don't hold anything against you at all. The important thing now is that you're here and that Johnny has a good place to live." Randy said. "I just feel like there's so much that we've missed out on. There's so many things that I want to tell you." Ashley said. "Well, I'm not going anywhere and your flight doesn't leave until tomorrow afternoon. Let's catch up." Randy said as the smile returned. "That'd be great. Where do you wanna start?" Ashley said as a smile crept to his face. "How about you start by telling me about your life with this stud over here." Randy said as he flagged Nick over, who sat down in a chair on the other side of the bed. "Oh god, where to start. He met me when I had barely any clothes on." Ashley started as everyone laughed. "Well how about that?" Randy said. "Yeah it's true. If you guys are any part identical I'd like to shake your hand." Nick added to the laughter. The three men joked for a few hours, before Randy noticed Ashley yawning. "You should go home Ash, you've got a flight to catch." Randy said "But I'm enjoying this too much." Ashley said. "It's ok Ash, so am I. We'll have our time together eventually." Randy said as he squeezed his hand. Unfortunately Ashley knew what he was talking about and gave him a hug then walked out. -July 31, 2001 (Day before Randy and Ashley's birthday) "Ash I'm sorry, Randy's dead." Randy watched down as Dan told Ashley those words after a concert. He wasn't exactly sure where he was or what was going on. He really couldn't comprehend anything. All he knew was that he was looking down watching things. Everything flashed a bit and then he was watching a funeral. He gasped as he noticed it was his. "Randy, you came into our lives in a heartbeat and left just as quickly but no one in this world has taught me more. No matter what happened to you, you just kept going. You knew what you had to do and what you did for Johnny was heroic. We will take excellent care of him and I will always treat him as if he was my own son. I can never thank you enough for giving us exactly what we needed as a couple. You were like an angel from heaven giving us strength and now you are in heaven looking down on us. Thank you so much." A tear came to his eye as he heard the words that Nick recited to his body. He watched Ashley get up and head towards the podium. He talked about Johnny and a little bit about when he met Randy. He seemed to falter a bit then start to sing a song. Randy watched on in tears as his brother stopped and couldn't go on. Nick came up to help him. They finished the song together and began to walk out. Ashley reached out one last time and touched his casket. Randy felt a warm feeling inside of him as he did that. He watched as the couple, Johnny and Donna walked out together, giving each other support. Randy broke down. It was everything he wanted but why was it so hard. "Randy" A voice spoke as he turned looking for it. There was nothingness all around him. Then as if hit by lightning he understood. He saw a face...the face of God. A hand reached out to him. Everything felt good and right. "Randy, come with me my son." The voice said as Randy grabbed the hand. As he did this everything went white and he could feel nothing good or bad. Nothing hard or soft, nothing real or fake. Nothing. THE END <<<< I hope you guys enjoyed this...tell me about it if you did. Pytn18@hotmail.com >>>> ---ND---
