It's only a short installment. I apologize for that too. My private life has been turned up side down the last months and it takes some time to get everything back on track. I did take a break from the story. Esp. after all the bad feedback that I got. But I'm back. I won't bore you anymore. Please send your feedback to nathanielstories@hotmail.com Disclaimer: fiction. Question of Faith part 16 Kevin grabbed hold of the table. All color drained from his face. This couldn't be true. Nick would never testify against him. Lexi's warm fingers curled themselves around his. 'Don't let them see that you are upset. I didn't know either.' Kevin managed to relax a little. He lifted his gaze to the TV. He was disappointed not to see Nick. All he saw was a doctor. 'Mr. Carter can't speak at his moment due to wires in his jaw. But we have someone that has been in close contact with Mr. Carter over the past period. She knows exactly what he is saying.' 'Objection.' Lexie struggled to her feet. 'The interrupter can alter Mr. Carter's words.' 'Objection overruled. I'd like to hear Mr. Carter's side of the story too.' Lexi sat down again. Kevin kept his gaze fixed on the TV-screen. The doctor stepped away and there he was. It took all his self-control not to scream right there and then. Nick looked awful. The bruises were fading on his face but the other injuries were still clearly visible. Kevin flinched visibly seeing the pins sticking out of Nick's arm. His pelvis was covered but Kevin didn't need to close his eyes to imagine the pins and plates. 'My name is Billie Piper. I'll be helping Nick with his testimony.' Kevin was surprised to hear Billie's soft voice. She looked tired. She sat down next to Nick on a plastic chair. The judge nodded and the DA cleared his throat. 'Mr. Carter when did you first meet the suspect?' Nick mumbled something. 'I met Kevin when I was 13 years old.' It was odd to hear Billie speak for Nick. 'Did he made advances to you at that age?' Nick made a sound that seemed to be a chuckle. 'No I jumped on him first.' The DA frowned. 'Has the suspect ever hurt you physically?' Kevin intensely looked at Nick's face. Various emotions appeared and disappeared again. Billie had to bent close to hear Nick's answer. 'No, Kevin never hurt me.' Kevin released the breath he was holding. But Billie continued to talk. 'He never hurt me intentionally. He wouldn't.' Lexie closed her eyes. Those last two sentences weren't really positive. It clearly stated that Kevin had hurt Nick. Intentionally or not. He had hurt Nick. Lexie turned to the DA. He smiled back with a sleazy grin. 'Could you be a bit more specific?' Nick didn't say anything at first. He made eye contact with Billie. 'When we first made love. Everyone's first time is a little bit uncomfortable. That was the only time I felt pain.' The DA blushed. 'Thank you Mr. Carter. We are done for now.' The judge looked at Lexie. 'Do you have any questions?' Lexie nodded. She once again struggled to get up. Suddenly she gasped. 'What's wrong?' Asked Kevin. 'My water broke.' Kevin jumped up. 'Your water broke?' He exclaimed. Lexie nodded. 'Let's go.' Kevin scooped Lexie in his arms. 'Billie, get hold of JC asap.' Yelled Kevin to the TV. 'Will do.' And Billie disappeared. The DA and the Judge were both gobsmacked. The Judge took his hammer and called order. 'Mr Richardson, return to your seat.' Kevin turned around at the door. 'She is having a baby and she is not having it without me.' The Judge sighed. 'Very well. This court is adjourned for a week.' *********** Justin bounced backstage. Adrenaline rushed through his body and he was feeling high. The crowd had called out for him minutes after he had left. It felt so good to be back. Everyone else had gone back to the hotel but Justin wanted to enjoy this moment for just little bit longer. The odd smell of the backstage area. The sounds of the crew breaking down the stage. The fans screaming outside. He didn't want to go to the hotel just yet. This was his moment. 'Why did you do it?' Richie's voice came out of no where. Justin almost jumped through the ceiling. 'God, you scared me.' Richie stepped in to the light. 'I came to my room to find all your things gone. And than that little performance from you today.' 'I'm back with the lads.' Richie frowned. 'Justin they are the same people who hated you for being gay. JC is still the person who wrecked your arm.' Justin looked at Richie. 'They are also my brothers. The people I grew up with. People that love me and don't cheat on me.' Justin spat the last words. 'You made me do it.' Justin almost laughed hearing Richie's childish response. Justin crossed his arms. 'I wasn't the one that ran straight into his ex-lover's arms the moment things got rough.' Richie didn't look at Justin. 'I know that the guys haven't treated me right but they are learning and so am I. It won't happen overnight but we are trying.' Richie raised his head and his blue eyes locked with Justin's. 'I don't want to lose you.' He whispered. Justin shook his head. 'It's a little too late for that. You lost me the moment you opened your arms for Shane.' 'I don't want Shane.' Cried Richie. 'I want you.' Justin sighed. He wanted Richie too but he wasn't as forgiving as he used to be. 'Then make up your mind.' Justin answered in a cold voice. 'It's either him or me.' Richie whimpered. Justin bent forward and lightly brushed his lips against Richie's. 'I'm not a sharer Richie. Shane or me. Think about it.' Justin spun around and walked away. He had heard the soft moan that had escaped Richie when he kissed him. Even though his whole body cried out for Richie he wasn't giving in. He was going to play a little game. A game called hard to get. If Richie really wanted him than he was more than willing to fight. ************ Nick tried to turn his head so that he could look at the TV. He had heard Kevin's voice and he was desperate to see his face too. But Nick couldn't turn his head. It hurt too much. He sighed. Kevin sounded like a man in control. Like the way he used to sound when he was urging them all to get ready to go on stage. He sounded like the Kevin Nick missed so much. Nick tried again. This time he caught a glimpse of the TV but he couldn't see the screen yet. He could hear the noises of people clearing the courtroom. He was hoping that he had done the right thing. Kevin had never hurt him except when they made love for the first time. But that pain only lasted for a single second. Nick closed his eyes and his thoughts wandered off to that night. How Kevin had taken him into his arms. He couldn't even breathe normally. His body was covered in sweat and his own cum. How Kevin had given him light kisses all over his body. Nick could still feel those warm lips closing down over his nipple. He moaned. 'Having perverted thoughts?' Billie's voice brought him back to reality. Nick opened his eyes. Billie sat next to him. 'Did you see him? How did he look? Was he ok?' Billie touched his arm. 'I saw him. He looked tired but ok. He was definitely in charge when Lexie's water broke.' Nick sighed. 'I should be there with him.' Billie shook her head. 'What you need is to recover.' Nick shook his head. At this moment that meant that he moved his face an inch to the right and an inch to the left. 'I have to be there with him.' Nick said through clenched teeth. 'I know that you want to be with him but you aren't well enough to be there with him.' Nick's eyes filled with tears. 'I want to touch him.' Billie's heart broke. 'Let's make a deal. You get well and fast and I'll try to get you out of here and on a plane to America.' Nick started to smile. 'But.' Said Billie in a stern voice. 'You have to get better first.' Nick nodded. 'I will.' Billie kissed his forehead. 'Now, I have to try to get the father on the phone again before he has a kid without knowing.' Jane stood outside the room. She had heard Nick talk to Billie. She smiled. He was going to be ok. She wiped away her tears. For days she had hoped that Nick would get out of his depression. That he would at least show any sign of wanting to recover. And the answer that been there all along. A mere promise. The sound of the voice of the man he loved and the promise that they would soon be reunited. Jane glanced at Nick. He was doing some therapy on his arm. Jane sighed. It was time for her to go home. Nick had to do this without her. The ball was in his court. It was up to him to come back to his family or not. ******** Justin sat in a quiet corner of the restaurant. A book on philosophy rested on his knees. He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He quickly glanced through the small restaurant. Westlife, except Shane, were having an after show dinner. They kept it quiet. Justin only heard laughter a few times. J and Sean were talking at the bar. It wouldn't be long before they would move to Justin's table. Recently they had been discussing the books Justin was reading. Sean had given him some of his to read. Who would have thought that Justin Timberlake would be reading literature one day? Justin really enjoyed the books Sean had given to him. He loved to discuss them with J and Sean. Justin had changed. He didn't have the urge to be in the public eye all the time. Chris took over from him. And of course JC. Especially now with his daughter. In the early days Justin would have been jealous but now he was happy that the attention wasn't directed towards him. He put his glassed back on and wanted to read a bit more when two people entered the restaurant. Justin closed his book. This could get very interesting. Richie and Shane sat down at a table close to Justin but too far away for him to hear what they were talking about. Justin opened his book again but kept a close eye on Richie and Shane. They were talking but not in a friendly manner. Shane was trying to calm Richie down but that seemed to make Richie even angrier. Justin sighed. He couldn't sit here and watch those two have a lovers' quarrel. He rose to his feet and casually strolled to the lobby. He sat down on a sofa. Some fans were standing in the lobby but they too had learned that Justin wasn't in need of attention anymore. He saw them take a few pictures and he smiled. Justin pulled out his mobile phone and dialed a number. He was hoping that his timing was right. The phone rang a few times and than he heard the voicemail. Justin softly cursed. He waited for the beep. 'Hello Kevin, it's Justin. I just wanted to talk. Things are ok on this side of the ocean. Give that baby girl a massive hug and big sloppy kiss.' Justin broke the connection. He grabbed his book again in another attempt to read a few pages. 'Hey Justin.' He looked up. Sean sat down next to him. 'Care for a chat?' Justin nodded. He had been looking forward to this all day.
