Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1999 19:40:19 EDT From: Papito6187@aol.com Subject: Rob & Lance 29 Well, here you go! Before you go on and read, I just have to say this. The next few installments are going to be focussing on Rob himself and everything he's doing in his career. Although the guys will still be popping up here and there, there won't be as much interaction between them all until I get them to go out on tour. Even though I'm going to be doing that, do not fear! Like I said, the guys will be popping up here and there, you'll see what I mean. So, on with the show! XIX At the meeting the next day they told me what was going down. I would be shooting the video for about a week. I would arrive on Tuesday, and that Wednesday I would start production on the video. That Thursday morning I would be going on the Z Morning Zoo (Z 100's morning show). After the video shoot was done I would be going in the studio with Marc Anthony and work on the Spanish song that I was doing with him. They told me that the auditions for my dancers were complete and that they had chosen 10 dancers (4 of which I had a say in). The roster was evenly divided 5 girls and 5 guys. When I met with them all I felt a sort of instant connection with them. These were my dancers: Kimberly: 19 Julie: 20 Nicole: 18 Tiffany: 20 Lauren: 22 Tommy: 18 Mike: 21 Jason: 24 Dave: 19 Phill: 19 They were all around my age and I think that's why we clicked so well. The first 4 girls (including Kim) are the ones that I chose. They make up the group that I had decided to present to Lynn. I chose her cause she seemed like she would take better care of them than Johnny would. The auditions for my back-up singers were almost finished. I said that I wanted to sit in on them and see which ones I liked since they would be backing me up. They agreed and told me that the auditions were this week. I thought it was just getting better and better, until they told me that after the meeting, and for the rest of the week I would be in the dance studio working with the choreographers and getting down the dance routines for the video shoot. That wasn't so bad cause at least I got to hang out with Kim and get a chance to know the people who I would be spending the next few months on the road and hopefully the rest of my career with. The rest of that week was spent in the dance studio working with the dancers and in the studio auditioning back-up singers. By the time Monday came around I had got the routine down perfectly and I had helped choose 4 back-up singers, 3 guys and 1 girl. I was happy with who I had helped choose. The funny thing about the auditions was that I had recognized a few people from High School, all of whom always thought they were better than me and discouraged me. So, naturally when they saw who they were auditioning for (me) they were shocked. I didn't give them any second thought because I knew that I couldn't get along with them. I wanted to have people that I felt I could get along with and there would be no tension with. I felt that I had chosen those people. These were my back-up singers: Bobby- a bass, 19 Sean- a baritone, 20 Jordan- a tenor, 20 Jessica (Jessie)- an alto, 23 After the auditions I had the responsibility/pleasure of calling them and telling them that they were picked for a callback that Monday. Little did any of them know that there was no callback and they had all been chosen. We had them all wait in a lounge area and I came out and introduced myself. "Hi I'm Rob! I'm who you might be singing for. What are your names and vocal ranges?" "Jessica, but everybody calls me Jessie or Jess, and I'm an alto." Jessie said. "Jordan, I'm a tenor." Jordan said. "I'm Bobby and I'm a bass." Bobby said. "And I'm Sean, I'm a baritone." Sean said. "So, are you nervous?" I asked. They all nodded "yes" and I said, "Why?" "Cause I really want this job!" Jordan said. "You do? What about the rest of you?" The others all nodded "yes" and still looked nervous. "Look, there's nothing to be nervous about!" "Easy for you to say!" Bobby said. "How bout this? How bout y'all sing something for me and it'll loosen you up?" "No.. that's ok!" Sean said. "Hey, if you can't sing on the spot in front of me, then you're not gonna go far!" "What should we sing?" Jessie asked. "Whatever you want!" "Ok, I'll go first!" "What're you gonna sing?" "My all." "Ok." She sang the first verse and I stopped her. "What? What's wrong?" she asked nervously. "Nothing! I just wanted to get an idea of how you sounded and I did. You did great!" I said. "Th... thank you!" "I like the re-mix of that song better. Who's up next?" "I'll go." Bobby said. "Ok, what're you gonna sing?" "Liberian girl, by..." "Michael Jackson, yeah, I know! Cool. Go head!" I stopped him after the first chorus. "Cool! I love that song! Alright, next!" "I'll go," Sean said, "I'm gonna sing `I want you back' by N Sync." "Hey! I was gonna sing that one!" Jordan said. "Then he'll sing the first verse and you'll sing the second." "Ok." They sang their songs and I was impressed. "Justin and JC eat your heart out! They'd be impressed!" I said. "Yeah, not like they're ever gonna hear it!" Jordan said. "Hey, if they want to hear you would you really say no?" "Whatta yah mean?" "I'm really good friends with them, and that's who we're going on tour with." "You mean if we're picked!" Jessie said. "No, I mean, that's who we're going on tour with!" "Huh? I'm confused!" Bobby said. "You guys really want this job?" "Yeah!" they all said. "You got it!" "What about the callback?" Sean asked. "There was no callback! We called you down here to tell you, you got the job! I just wanted to see how y'all sounded!" "WHAT?!?" They all shouted. "Congratulations! You 4 are my new back-up singers!" They all burst out into various expressions of joy. Jessie ran up and gave me a hug and the rest of them joined in. "Ok ok! Calm down!" I said laughing, "Now y'all gotta come with me and go over and sign some contracts. Follow me." I led them into an office where, a team of lawyers, were waiting. They helped them go over it and explained what some of the stuff meant. They stressed the part about keeping my private life and those of the people I work with and have relations with (Lance) private. If they let it slip to someone and word got out they would be fired and sued for contract violation. After everything was explained there were asked if they had any questions, they said no and they then signed the contracts. "Y'all hungry?" I asked after the meeting was over. "Hell yeah!" they said. "Well, let's go get some grub, my treat! I want us to get to know each other. We're gonna be spending a lot of time together so I would like to know who you are." We went to another lounge area and ordered some Chinese food to be delivered. Once the food got there we started eating and I went first. "Well I guess I should go first. Remember, what I am about to tell you, whatever it is, remains between us!" They all nodded and I continued, "Well, I want to be honest with you all. This is why I'm telling you this. I am bisexual, and I am seeing someone who is also famous." I got stares from everyone and I continued, "Is that a problem?" "Not me." Jessie said. "Me either, as long as you don't try anything with me!" Sean said. "I don't care! I'm bi too!" Bobby said. "Uh.. is it too late to turn this gig down? Nah! I'm just playin! It's cool! Just as long as y'all don't come on to me!" Jordan said. "Cool! I was hoping that you would be cool with it! But seriously, if any of you have a problem with it, now's the time to say something!" I said, "Going once? Going twice? Moving on!" "So who is it that you're with?" Jessie asked. "Well, as I said it's somebody famous, and you can't tell ANYBODY!!" "Yeah, we know!" Bobby said. "Ok, well, it's somebody from N Sync." "It's not JC is it?" Jessie asked. "No, he's going out with my best friend Melissa." "Damn!" "Is it Justin?" Bobby asked. "Nope, he's going out with my other best friend Jay." "So he's.." "Gay." "Joey?" Sean asked. "Nope. It's Lance." "Good pick!" Bobby said. I laughed and said, "And he's bi too. Now that I got that off my chest, moving on. Now, I'm leaving for New York tomorrow. I'm going to be filming my first video for my first single off my album. It's called," "The one I want. I've heard it on the radio!" Jordan said. "Cool! Well I'm excited to be going for a few reasons. 1- I'm gonna be shooting my first video for my first single!! 2- New York is my home! I was born and raised in the Bronx, and I live in Manhattan. 3- I get to record a song with Marc Anthony." "For real??" Sean asked. "Yup!" "Who's he?" Jordan asked. "He's a Salsa singer. I'm doing a Spanish song with him. Oh yeah! I'm Puerto Rican." "Me too." "I'm Cuban." Jessie said. "I'm half Purto Rican and half Cuban." Bobby said. "I'm a whole lot of things but my family's mostly from the south. I have relatives from Jamaica and the West Indies and the list goes on and on." Jordan said. "Are we going with you?" Jessie asked. "Nah. I'm gonna be there for 2 weeks. When I get back is when I'm gonna start practicing with you. But, you guys start next Monday." "Are we gonna do background vocals on the album too?" Bobby asked. "Maybe. I'm not sure, probably though. Most of the back-up vocals are me singing the same part in harmony with the melody." "Oh ok." "Don't worry, I'll see if I can get y'all some spots to sing! Most of it's done already. Shit, we've been recording since January and it's March! We've gotten about half the album done already." We all talked for a few hours more. I had to go and finish packing so I said that I would see them in a couple of weeks. I congratulated them one more time and then went back home. Once I got home I got my cordless and called my mom and let her know when I was getting in tomorrow. My flight left Orlando at 3 and I would be getting into Kennedy at about 6. My parents were gonna pick me up from the airport and take me back to their house for dinner where Ricky, Michelle and Jay would be joining us. After dinner me and Jay would head back to the apartment. So there I was in the airport back in New York, place of my birth and childhood. As I stepped out of the gate, I saw my parents with a cardboard sign that said, "Rob" I couldn't help but laugh as I walked over to them. They spotted me and my mom went crazy. She hugged me and gave me a huge kiss on the cheek. I hugged my dad and gave him a kiss on the cheek as well. We went over to the baggage claim and got my stuff. We found the car and were on our way home. My mom was so glad that I was home. She missed me like crazy. We got to their house and I greeted my brother and Jay. Michelle couldn't make it cause she had to work and she couldn't get out of it. I spent all of dinner telling them about all of the things I've been up to and what was in store for me while in NY. I loved the fact that I was in my parent's house, eating a home cooked meal and would be going home to my apartment to sleep in my bed! After dinner, we stayed there for a few more hours and went home! Jay and I spent the time catching up and just bullshitting. It felt good to be home! Anyway, whatever, we got back and blah, blah, blah! The next day I got up at 6 and got ready. I went to the RCA offices (in the BMG building) in Times Square. I was there by 7:45 and the execs weren't there yet. They got there around 8. We had a meeting as to what the concept would be. It was a sort of Cinderella story. We would be in a giant ballroom, then the girl I was dancing with (Cinderella, the one I want) would arrive and I would dance with her as we were at the head of the group dancing to the mid-tempo song. Then as we did this turn, the clock would strike 12 and she would run out and I would turn expecting her to be there. I then stopped as the rest of the dancers kept dancing. I fought my way through the crowd to try and catch up with her, but she was long gone and I found her shoe. Then, as the song ended with the last line, "The one I want" I would show up at her door with the shoe in my hand as she stood at the doorway in shock. I thought it was pretty cool. Not your typical Cinderella story, but still having that classic fairytale feeling. The filming would take place in some huge ballroom somewhere in Manhattan, then the scene of her running out would be in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 5th Ave. The meeting was over by 12 so they gave me the rest of the day off. I decided to go and pay a visit to my old High School and see some of my favorite teachers. When I got in front of the building, it reminded me of old times. As I walked into the building I was stopped by a security guard then given a visitor's pass. As I roamed the halls, I realized that it had only been a few months since I was here last, 9 to be exact. I paid a visit to all of my former music teachers first then to the academic. They were all happy to see me, and even though I interrupted the class they didn't mind. I got a few requests for autographs, all due to my single doing really well in New York even though it had only been out about a week or so. Although I wanted to stay in some classes longer than others, I had to leave because they needed to continue on with their lessons. It was in my favorite voice teacher's class that I stayed the longest in. She had me tell the class all about how the music business really was and how much her advice was right and helped me in my career. It was like I was back in her class because she was scolding me on how to speak so everybody could hear me. The bell had rung and the class didn't want to leave, but they did. On the way out I got a lot of autograph requests. I stayed in her class to talk to her a little longer, cause she had a free period. After leaving, I went down to the recording studio to see one of my other favorite teachers. I opened the door and saw him in the control booth area cleaning some computer screens. "It's been a long time since I've been in here!" I said walking into the room. "Huh? ROB!! Oh my god! What're you doing here?!" He said giving me a handshake and patting me on the back. "Just though I'd pay a visit to the old stomping grounds!" "I heard you're becoming quite a star!" "Well, not yet." "From what I hear the students talking about, it'll only be a matter of weeks!" "They talk about me?" "Of course! You went to this school! I heard your song for the first time the other day! Very impressive!" "Thank you! You know I did produce it!" "Oh really? I didn't know that! Great job!" "Yup, and I owe it all to you!" He laughed and I said, "I told you you'd be in the thank you's on my first album! Watch!" "So what are you doing here? Have you finished recording the album?" "Nah, not yet, we still gotta couple more songs to do, but I'm shooting the video to the single that's out now. That's why I'm in New York. I've been living mostly in Orlando. BUT that's only for when I'm recording! I'm hoping to move back here soon! That's if I can of course!" "Nothing like New York huh?" "Nope! Can't get away from it!" We talked for a little longer and he had to go to a meeting. "I'll see you at graduation! I'm going to watch my best friend." I said. "Perhaps you should talk to the principal and see if you can speak at graduation!" "That would be cool! Hmmm. I think I'll do that! The school will have to work it out with my record label, but it can work!" "What label are you signed to?" "RCA." "That's under BMG right?" "Yeah." "Cool! Well, listen I really got to get to this meeting! We're trying to get some more new computers!" "Cool!" "Yeah, well I hope!" "Alright man, I'll see you at graduation then!" "Yeah, it was great seeing you, and I wish you all the best!" "Thanks!" After I was done with him, I went up and had a talk with the principal. He thought it was a great idea and was more than happy to accept. He just had to clear it with some of the powers that be first. Then talk to my label and then hope that I didn't have a concert on that day. After I finished up there, I decided to see if I saw Jay. I went up to where I remember his locker was, which was right next to my old one. As luck would have it, as I approached the locker, I saw him talking to some girl. I'm pretty sure it was his last period cause it was 9th. I snuck up behind him and scared the shit out of him. It was hilarious. After he calmed down, we walked out of the building and got into my car. We drove back home and just chilled for the rest of the night. At around 7ish, the phone rang and I picked it up. "Hello?" I said. "Jay?" Justin asked confused. "Oh, hey Justin!" "Who's this?" "Duh! It's Rob." "Oh! Rob! That's right! I forgot you were goin home!" "Yup! Just got here last night." "Cool! We're gonna get to go home in a couple days too!" "What?!" "Yeah! We just word today! We're gonna be doing some radio interview that's being broadcasted nationally!" "OH that just sucks!" "Um... ok.." "You know! I've been in Orlando all this time THEN when I FINALLY get to come home, you guys are going to Orlando!" "That is funny!" "No, it's fucked up!" "Well I'm just happy I get to see my family!" "Yeah, well hold on! I'll get Jay!" I gave the phone to Jay and they talked for awhile. After Jay got off the phone I said, "So, how are you two doing?" "Huh? Oh! We're doin ok. I mean, I miss him like crazy and I can't wait until I see him, but other than that, I'm gettin by." "Same here. I'm pissed!" "Yeah, I know, he told me." "Grrrr!" "And you know who's doin the interview?" "Who?" "Cubby!" "I got an idea!" "What?" "I'm gonna give them a call while they're bein interviewed!" "Yeah, good luck getting through!" "I'm gonna call on their cell." "What if they're off?" "Oh well, but I'm gonna try!" "And then what?" "I'm gonna tell them to give me the private line then I'll call in and say what's up!" "Cool." "Oh yeah, anyways, what time is it?" "Almost 11." "Damn! You were on the phone that long?" "Yup." "You're lucky! Whenever I get to talk to Lance, our conversations only last from about 15minutes to and hour! That's always cause they gotta go do somethin!" "Well, that comes with the job! You should know!" "Yeah. Anyways, I think I'd better try and get to sleep, I gotta get up early and get to the radio station." "What time you gotta be there?" "By 8." "What time you leavin?" "By 7." "What time you wakin up?" "By 6." "Oh, so I'll wake up with you!" "Cool. Night man!" "Night!" The next morning as planned, we woke up and did our thing. I got to the Empire State Building (Where Z 100 is located) a little passed 8 due to some traffic. As I got into the building, they called upstairs to let them know that I was here and on my way up. The morning show crew, known as the Z Zoo, consisted of Elvis Duran, Elliot Segal, Christine Nagy, John Bell, and Danielle Monero. Those were the main DJ's. The rest of the Z Zoo consisted of other people that worked the morning show shift. "Elvis, Elliot and the Z Morning Zoo on Z 100! That was `All I have to give' by the Backstreet Boys. 8:05 and we have just gotten word that Rob is now in the building and on his way up." Elvis said as the song faded. "Now, according to his Bio, Rob was discovered by the guys of N Sync." John Bell said. "Yeah, and it's been reported that he's even helped them out on their new album." Christine said. "Oh, here he comes now! He looks like he just got out of bed!" Elvis said. As I walked into the studio I said hello to everyone and was set up with some headphones and a mic. "Ladies and gentlemen, give a warm welcome for Rob!" "Hey everybody!" I said as they all clapped. "Hey there Rob, how's it goin?" "Good, good! A little tired, but I'm managing!" "Yeah, not used to the early mornings?" Christine asked. "I'm just not a morning person. I've been getting up early practically everyday for years now and I still get tired about an hour and a half after I wake up. I'll be wide awake in like 2 seconds!" "So, your single `The one I want' has been blowing up on the radio over the passed, week now, right?" Elliot said. "Yeah, it just came out last week I think!" "So, what's the story behind that song? Didn't you write it with one of the members of N Sync?" John Bell asked. "Yeah. I wrote it with Josh, better known as JC, from N Sync. He's actually helped me write a couple of songs. I think maybe like 2 or 3 of them are gonna wind up on my album and the others are gonna be on theirs." "I heard you actually produced this song as well, right?" Elvis asked. "Yes, yes I did. Um. I was actually planning on going to college and majoring in Music Production before I got my big break." "How did that happen exactly? Didn't N Sync have something to do with it?" Danielle asked. "Yeah, I owe Lance, Josh, Justin, Chris and Joey a GREAT deal! If it weren't for them I probably wouldn't be here right now!" "So how did it happen?" Christine asked. "Well, I kinda helped Lance escape from a mob of fans and we just sorta hit it off and became friends. He then introduced me to the guys and we all hit it off great! They took me into the studio cause we were gonna go out clubbing afterwards and me being the person I am, I just was giving my opinion about some of the stuff they were recording. Then the producer ask me what I thought about some other things and asked me to sing this part that I thought would be better. I did and they liked what they heard. Then, the next day, I was asked if I wanted to sing a solo part on one of their songs and I immediately said yes. I even changed some of the parts to stuff I thought would sound better and they loved it. The next day they wanted to sign me!" "Wow! So it was like an overnight thing?" Elvis asked. "Just about, yeah!" "So, you sing, you write, you produce, anything else you can do? Like pull a rabbit out of a hat?" "Matter of fact! Nah, I was just blessed with all these talents. I mean, there are tons of people more talented than I am, I am just one of the lucky ones that is getting to show my talent to the world!" "So when's your album due out?" Christine asked. "Well, we're almost done recording. It's scheduled to be out by late April, early May." "Well we gotta take a commercial break, we'll be right back with more of Rob, on the Z Morning Zoo!" Elliot said. We made some small talk and came back from commercial. "Elvis, Elliot and the Z Morning Zoo here with Rob! Now, you're from New York correct?" Elvis asked. "Yup! Born and raised in the Bronx!" I said. "Well, our very own Danielle is the Queen of the Bronx!" "Yeah, I know! It's a pleasure to finally meet you your majesty!" I said laying my bass voice on thick as they all laughed. "So do you still live out here or have you moved somewhere?" Elliot asked. "Well, I've lived in Manhattan for a few years now, but I had to move down to Orlando to record my album. I still have my apartment here though." "Which do you like better? Orlando, or New York?" John Bell asked. "Oh, definitely New York! I can't listen to Z 100 when I'm down there!" "Oh, so we have a fan here do we?" Elliot said. "Oh yeah! I used to listen to you guys on my way to school every morning!" "Do you think that you being from New York had anything to do with your single blowing up so big in the Tri-State area?" Christine asked. "I think so. I mean, there aren't many artists out there now that are, from New York." "What is your background, cause you're so tan, I mean, is that just from being in sunny Florida? I can also hear a faint accent." "I'm Puerto Rican, and every so often my Puerto Rican Bronx accent comes out. Especially when I'm home! This is my first time being home in months!" "You were in the news not too long ago if I remember." Danielle said. "Yeah, well, unfortunately my brother was in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. The guys were going to Europe and Lance wanted to escort me back here to make sure that everything was all right. The press and some fans thought something was wrong with one of the guys so there was a mob outside of the hospital. I would also like to thank everyone who sent their condolences, my brother is doing much better now." "So what's in store for you in the next few months?" John Bell asked. "Well, I'm here shooting my video for `The one I want' and after I'm done with that, I'm going into the studio to record a Spanish song with Marc Anthony, that's gonna be on my album." "What's the video about?" Danielle asked. "Well, I don't wanna give it all away. Let's just say it's a new twist on an old tale." "What other artists have you worked with on this album besides N Sync?" Elvis asked. "Hmm... I worked with Timberland, Missy Elliot, Aaliyah, and Gloria Estefan." "So you're basically working in a couple of different styles of music." John Bell said. "Yeah, I mean, I like so many different types of music, that I didn't want to be limited to just one! I mean, I'm Puerto Rican and I love Salsa and Merengue. I speak Spanish and love Spanish music, so I wanted to do a Spanish song! I grew up in the Bronx in a neighborhood where everybody listened to Hip-Hop and R&B. I have a really good voice for singing R&B so I wanted to do an R&B/Hip-Hop song. I love Pop and although that's what most of my songs will fall under, they will show the influence of all the different types of music I love. I'm very grateful that my label has allowed me to explore these different genres. I mean we're living in a time where there's so many different types of great music out there, and there are many people who don't even know it! I just wanted to show people that I'm not your typical pop singer that will just sing pop! I wanted to show who I am and what I love to do through my music and that's what I'm doing, and I hope that it all goes well!" "And what a perfect note to end on! Go out and get some culture!" Elliot said. "We wanna thank Rob for stopping by and it was a pleasure meeting you!" Elvis said, "His single is called `The one I want' and his self titled debut album out in late April, early May! How bout before you go, you sing a little of your song for us?" "Sure! I'd love to!" They played the instrumental to the song and I sang it live on the radio. After I finished singing, they went to commercial. I thanked them for having me on the show and they thanked me for coming. They were all cool people and they seemed to like me, I mean, the way they looked at me when I answered their questions, it was like they were really interested in what I had to say. I wasn't just another teen pop singer that thought he was the shit (not saying anybody specific), but a professional who really was in the biz for the love of the music. It was just before 9 when I finally got done with recording promo's for the station and was able to leave. Once I got out of there I headed over to the video shoot. By the time I got there it was already 9:45. We were scheduled to start shooting by 10:30. As I pulled up and was escorted onto the set, I was informed that my dancers had just arrived as well. I wanted to go over and say hi to them, but I had to get over to hair and make-up. After that was done, I went over to wardrobe. I had a few choices in costumes. I could be dressed in a tux, a suit, or some fly looking clothes that looked sexy on me. Naturally I chose the fly looking clothes that looked sexy on me. I chose a blue 2-toned shirt, a black vest, some black dress pants and a pair of black shoes. To finish off the look, I had my pocket watch that Lance gave me. The gold chain was fastened to one of the buttons on the vest and the watch was in the pocket. As I was coming out of wardrobe, I saw my dancers heading towards me. "Hey guys!" I said. They all whistled and hollered at me. "Yes, I know, sexy ain't I?" "Don't make me have to pop the already big head of yours!" Kimberly said. "Oooh.. Kinky! Anyways, y'all goin to get ready now?" "Yeah." They all said. "So, who's the lucky lady that's gonna be my Cinderella?" We had decided that instead of using an actress to play my lady, we would just use one of my dancers so she could be in the dance part and then break out of there. "That would be me." Kim said. "Well, just try not to make a certain somebody jealous!" I said in her ear. She had known I was bi for a few years now. We had been close friends ever since the summer before my senior year. Once she was hired and signed the contract, I told her about me and Lance, she found it funny, but was happy for me nonetheless. We had lost contact for 2 main reasons. One, she moved down to Florida and it was hard for us to keep in contact, and two, my bitchy ex was jealous of her and didn't like her, so in order not to piss her off, I didn't keep in touch as much as I would've liked to. "I'll try, but I can't promise!" she said laughing. "Well, I gotta go meet with the director and all them people, so I'll see you all on set!" "Later!" they all said. As I got onto the set, I met with the director, Nigel Dick (NOTE: same guy who did [You Drive Me] Crazy and Music of my heart). We were shooting the dance hall scenes first. There were a lot of extras already in costume and on set. He told me what the schedule was for today. We'd do a run through of the choreography on set once then shoot. Once my dancers came out we went through the choreography and were ready to shoot. That night was the radio interview with the guys, so after we wrapped for the day, I went straight home just in time to eat, shower and chill on the couch. It started around 9ish. That's when I decided to put my plan into work. I called Lance on his cell and with luck, he still hadn't turned it off so I got through. With some convincing, I was able to get the private line number. About halfway through the show, I called and got through. After telling them who I was they put me on hold for a sec and then introduced me over the air. "We've just got word that a special guest has just called in." Cubby said, "Ladies and gentlemen, a very good friend of the guys, and an all around cool guy, I should know I've met him, Rob!" "Hello America!" I said. "In case some of you are saying, well who the heck is Rob, he is a new artist that is doing extremely well on the radio airplay charts. His single `The one I want', which was just released like a week ago is already one of the most requested songs. Hey Rob, how's it goin?" "It's goin great! I must say though, that I'm a little ticked." "Why's that?" "Well, I've been in Orlando for a good few months already, and when I finally return to New York, you go to Orlando! I wanted to go up and chill with you Cubby!" "Aw, how nice!" "Hey guys! What up?" "Hey Rob!" They all said. "Now, isn't it true that these 5 guys right here sort of discovered you?" "Yeah, kinda. As I told the Z Zoo today, I ran into Lance, we clicked and became friends, he then introduced me to the others, they took me along with them into the studio and everything kinda took off from there!" Lance was a little nervous while I was telling the story, although he knew I wouldn't say anything stupid, he was just a little cautious. "I also hear that JC here helped write `The one I want' with you!" "Yeah, me and Rob went into the studio like around what," JC said "About 12 I think." I said finishing his thought. "Yeah, and we didn't get out of there until like 6!" "Yeah, and they would've kept goin if we didn't remind them that there was life outside the studio!" Chris said. "Whoa! Six hours straight?!" Cubby said. "Yup! And the result was about 5 or 6 songs!" I said. "That's the thing about JC! When he's in the studio, you have to practically drag him out!" Justin said. "Rob too!" Lance said. "Hey Josh, they're raggin on us!" I said. "Yeah, I'll get them back later!" JC said. "Get em twice! One for me!" "Will do!" "Well, I gotta be goin!" "How's the video shoot coming along?" Lance asked. "Great! I think we should be done by Saturday!" "So you're shooting the video for `The one I want'?" Cubby asked. "Yeah, that's why I'm in New York!" "What's the concept?" "Again, like I told the Z Zoo today, I'm not gonna give it away. All I'll say is that it's an old story with a kinda updated/new twist!" "So, in other words, you'll tell us later?" Joey asked. "Basically!" After they finished laughing, I said that I had to go. After I hung up, me and Jay listened to the rest of the interview and went to bed afterwards. We wrapped up on Saturday around 7 and were all happy. We (my dancers and I) decided to all go out to dinner and then clubbing. I invited Jay and he met us at the restaurant we went to. We ordered drinks and food. When the drinks came I said, "Ok, ok! I'd like to make a toast! Here's to a job well done! I had a blast workin with y'all on the video and I can't wait till we take this out on the road!" "Wait, wait!" Kim said, "Here's to Rob, without you we'd still be unemployed!" The rest of the guys cheered and we downed our drinks. The night's events were fun! We had a great time goin to the clubs and dancin the night away. By the time 2:30 came around, we were all tired out. Instead of driving back to my place, we just crashed at the hotel with them. The next morning really sucked for them, cause they had to be on a 12 o'clock plane back to Orlando. The only problem was that they were all hung over and got up at 10. That only gave them an hour to pack, get ready and get to the airport. I don't know how they did it, but they did! We didn't go with them but we said our good byes. On the way back, Jay was telling me how he thought they were all cool. Once we got back to my place, we both went back to sleep. I was having a really good dream! I was back at Lance's house and we were the only ones there. He was sitting on the living room couch and there was music playing in the background. As we started to make out, the music turned to Janet Jackson's "Rope burn" off of her Velvet Rope CD. I slowly got up off the couch and started to dance seductively in front of my blonde lover. I slowly moved my body to the rhythm of the music. As I started to rub my hands up and down my body he watched me intently. As the first chorus was sung, I climbed on the couch and stood on my knees. I ran my hands up and down his body. I slowly unbuttoned his shirt revealing his tight, muscular chest. I ran my hands down his chest then back up. As she sang the last words of the chorus "Rope burn" I brought my lips in front of his and just as he was about to kiss me, I got off the couch. I moved my body to the music again, this time more seductively. I started to unbutton my shirt slowly. As I revealed my chest and abs, I ran my hands up and down my body making sure he saw me play with my nipples. As the tent in his pants grew larger, I took my shirt off and threw it at him. It landed on his head and he pulled it off to watch the show I was giving him. I slowly moved closer to him and once again climbed on the couch on my knees. I grabbed his head and he grabbed me by the waste. I pulled his head to my chest and he started to kiss it. I ran my hands threw his hair then pulled his head back. As I moved my lips closer to his, just before he was able to kiss me, I turned my body around and was now sitting in his lap. As the normally 4 minute song repeated over and over, I proceeded to give my love a lap dance. As I slowly bumped and grinded at his crotch, I could hear his moans for me to keep going. As I sped up I knew he was close to coming, I kept up my steady rhythm, leaned back and started to kiss him. "ROB!!! PHONE!!" I heard Jay yell from the living room. As I was pulled away from the love of my life, I was pissed that I didn't get to finish my dream. I picked up the phone and that feeling was quickly replaced. "Hey baby!" Lance said. TBC.. Talk about a cock tease huh? HEE HEE HEE!!! Sorry, I just had to! As usual, questions, comments, suggestions all welcome! Email me at Papito6187@aol.com. P.S. If you haven't checked it out, and have just ridden it off as some stupid sci-fi attempt at a boyband's story, read it and you'll be surprised. As far as the ? yes, there is going to be a continuation. As to when and how, you'll just have to wait and find out!
