As he laid in bed, he could feel that something was different, but couldn't figure out what it was. A couple of minutes later, he managed to get himself to sit up in bed, at which point, he heard a light, steady, breathing next to him. Turning around, he saw Nicky sitting in a chair by the bed, still in his street clothes, fast asleep. "Poor Nix," Bryan thought to himself, "he probably didn't get much sleep last night thanks to me." Bryan quietly got out of bed, and tried to ease Nicky into his bed, hoping to give the older boy a more comfortable sleep. As Bryan went about his task, Nicky began to stir. "You're up?" he mumbled while rubbing his eyes. "What time is it?" Bryan cursed himself silently for waking Nicky up. "It's only six in the morning. Go back to sleep." By now, Nicky began to wake up fully. "How are you feeling, Bry?" "A lot better," Bryan answered appreciatively. Nicky wasn't convinced, so he moved beside Bryan and again placed his hand on the younger boy's forehead. "Well, the fever seems to be subsiding," Nicky observed. "But you should still take it easy." "Yes, Dr. Byrne," Bryan answered with a grin. "Very funny, Bryan," Nicky answered with a smile. The two lads went about the room getting ready for the day ahead. Nicky was sporting a massive headache from the lack of sleep, but he didn't let it on. "Hey, Nix?" Bryan said as he was fixing his hair. "Yeah?" "Thanks for last night," Bryan continued. "Don't mention it," Nicky answered with a laugh. "Someone has to take care Westlife's baby Bryan." "Hey," Bryan answered with mock hurt. "I'm no baby!" "Maybe not...you just act like one!" Nicky joked. Before he finished, Bryan had launched a pillow at him, starting a fierce pillow fight. Five minutes later, the war was over as Bryan laid exhausted on the bed, with an equally tired Nicky lying on top of him. For a moment, the two lads locked their gazes. Bryan looked up at Nicky and realized once again just how beautiful the older boy was. And Nicky looked at Bryan, realizing that perhaps the younger boy meant more to him than a band mate or even a best friend. They looked at each other for what seemed like eternity. Bryan could feel his breathing get faster and his cock began to respond. Nicky also felt the same. Sensing the situation sliding out of control, Nicky got off of Bryan and fixed his clothing. "Well, we better get going, Bryan. Don't want to be late." With his back to Bryan, Nicky could not see the look of disappointment on the younger boy's face. "What were you thinking? Nicky already said he doesn't love you. Give up already, Bryan," he scolded himself. A few minutes later, the two boys walked silently to the lounge for breakfast, each deep in their own thoughts. For the rest of the day, Nicky took good care of Bryan, careful not to let him fall ill again. All this was not lost on Kian, whose jealous eyes pierced through Bryan throughout the day. If looks could kill, Bryan would have been shredded to pieces on more than one occasion. What hurt Kian even more than Bryan's closeness with Nicky was his former lover's complete ignoring of him. Other than a few one-word responses here and there, Nicky hardly talked to Kian at all and unlike before, Kian noticed that Nicky's eyes were mostly cast at Bryan and not himself. All of these observations fermented Kian's growing jealousy of Bryan and of his desire to get Nicky back. "Nicky's mine," he told himself. "And I'm not going to let Bryan take him away from me." So after the magazine interview, Kian walked up to Nicky. "Hey, Nicky, I was wondering if we could maybe go out for dinner or something. Just to talk..." "I can't, Kian. I already promised Bryan I'd go do some shopping with him. Maybe another time." With that, Nicky turned away and walked over to Bryan. Kian could see the two lads laughing at some joke, appearing to be closer than ever before. "How can Bryan compete with me?" he thought to himself. "What does Nicky see in him? What does he have that I don't?" With that, Kian stormed out of the room, although the other lads were too involved with their own affairs to notice. That night, Nicky sat in his hotel room, reading a book that he bought earlier in the day. Bryan had gone clubbing with Shane and Mark, after pleading with Nicky to let him go. Nicky himself decided to stay in for a quiet night, since he was still tired from the previous night's lack of sleep. As he read, he heard a knock on the door. He got up and walked to the door with a smile. "Forgot your key again, Bry?" he asked as he opened the door. "Bry, Bry, Bry...that's all you care about these days!!" Kian hollered as he leaned against the doorframe. "What are you doing here, Kian," Nicky asked calmly, his smile gone. "What does he have that I don't have?" Kian demanded. Nicky could smell the alcohol in Kian's breath. "Fuck, Kian. You're drunk," Nicky muttered. I'm taking you back to your room." ...to be continued.... * * * * * * * * * Hope you enjoyed this segment.
