If you couldn't accept themes of homosexuality and the like, please don't read on. This is a story concerning gay males having intimate relationships and is considered FOR ADULTS ONLY due to its sexual theme and contents. BUT if you really like this stuff, please don't tell others. Everything in this story is purely FICTIONAL. Or in simpler terms, it's not true!!! Even if this story involves NSYNC, a real, successful American singing group, and a fictitious character, all that happens in here is fictional... again, it's not true. If there are instances that it is similar to what happened in the real world, it doesn't mean that it's really true. I don't know anything about their sexuality, as far as the I and the world know, they're straight as an arrow so I dunno if they're gay (but I do have my speculations) or not but I wrote this out of freedom of speech and my love for these guys and slash fiction. I don't own or know NSYNC personally. AGAIN, it's NOT TRUE!!! but don't we all hope that it's true... hehehehe... * First Words * Hi guys. This is my 3rd work here in the boyband section of the Nifty Archives. I dunno why I called it "What I See" but I just ran out of ideas for a title and thought of something simple. So the title, What I See was born *giggle*. I dunno if I can manage my 3 stories at the same time but Crossed Paths is in its "season break" and Reformation is still there. But I'll really try my best to update all my stories. Remember, I love feedbacks. Mail me at my NEW Addie at yr_ry_@hotmail.com ------------------------ What I See Chapter 24 ------------------------ I stretched my sore back for the sixth time within the day. I spent my whole day working on the JIVE Project. I was feeling cramped and sore already because it was 4:30pm already and I didn't really take a break from my work. Add to that the fact that I just flew in from California after waking up at 5:00 in the morning. This has been really a very, very long day. After a small chat with Will, he left me alone to work. I didn't even notice when he left the office. I only learned that when I stretched a while ago and saw his things missing. My hunch was that he left the office a few hours ago. So I was alone in the office, except for Matt who was still in his own office. I stood up and walked just to stretch my cramped body. "I need a break." I said to myself. I walked to the drinking station and got myself a cup of water to appease my hunger. After that, I went back to my cubicle and worked once again. "Kyle?" I heard someone speak. I turned around and saw Matt standing that startled me a little bit. "You're still here? It's 7:00pm already." He said. I didn't know that it was that late already. I was just to engrossed with finishing the project. "Just doing some catching up." I told him with a smile. "I thought you're gonna start working on it tomorrow?" He asked me frowning. "Yeah, but I didn't want to procrastinate it since I already had a working idea per site so instead of postponing it for tomorrow, I did it now. It's no biggie." I answered Matt. "You are so indefatiguable." He said shaking his head. "Save everything now and let's go. There's plenty of time to finish that. The deadline for the project is still a few weeks away." Matt told me. I just sighed and did what he said even if I didn't want to stop yet. But what could I do? He was the boss and I was the employee anyway. I saved everything and just added a few notes so I could remember what my ideas were the next day. I closed my system and made sure that I had everything I needed was with me. I might add on it later on. I walked to Matt's direction who was standing by the door already. "I'm ready." I told him as I approached him. "Great! Did you eat already?" He asked me. "Er, not yet." I grinned sheepishly. My tummy then started to growl and I really felt the hunger at the moment. "Come on, let's eat. My treat." Matt told me. I nodded and we walked out of the office after locking up. "Just follow me in your car." Matt said. "Okay." I said and walked to my car. He drove first and I followed. "I'm really hungry." I said to myself. I knew it was my fault because I totally forgot about it while being immersed in my work. Good thing Matt was there to remind me or I could have worked until the next day. After a few more turns, Matt's car slowed down in front of a small diner. I followed suit and parked my car near the place since the parking slots were really scarce. Once I walked to the diner, Matt was already there standing waiting. "Just parked my car there." I explained as I pointed at the edge of the block. "It's okay. It's dinner time and this place is really famous because of the good food." Matt told me. We entered the diner and the place was nearly filled even though it had a big floor space. It was really famous. A big guy in his 50s approached us with a smile. "Al!" Matt said as he gave the guy an embrace. "Matt! It's always good to see you here." Al said. My guess was that they were good friends. "This is Kyle. He works with me in the office." Matt introduced me to Al. He extended his hand and I shook it. He seemed like an okay guy to me. "Good good. There's a table there." Al pointed to a corner in the floor. Matt nodded and led the way to the direction that Al pointed to. I looked around mesmerized by the number of people eating at the restaurant and one more thing, they were very loud. I could hear their conversations clearly. Maybe it was the air of casualness in the room. The two of us sat and a waiter approached us. "Good evening sirs, what are you having?" He asked us with a grin. The waiter was very cute with his short brown hair and adoring smile. But by the looks of it, he was young. Maybe around 18 and that's too young for me. "I'll get the chicken barbeque." Matt answered. "I'll take that too." I chimed in. The waiter jotted it down in his little pad quickly. He had this frown that made him look cuter if that was even possible. "Drinks?" He inquired once again. "Iced tea for me." I said. "Heineken." Matt answered. The waiter left us. "How are you now?" He asked. "I'm okay now." I said. "That's good to hear. I was worried sick when Paul called me asking for a few days off for you." Matt told me. "I was surprised myself." I laughed. "Paul just barged in the house and told me that I needed some time off and flew me to California. I couldn't even say 'no' and the next thing I knew was I was in a plane to California." I said. "Well, I'm not surprise with that. I think Paul can do that especially with you. You are just too nice!" Matt laughed. The waiter returned with our food. The two of us ate heartily and I knew why all these people converge in this place. The food was fantastic and since the place wasn't really like the top restaurants in the town, it was casual. Matt and I exchanged small talks while we ate. We talked about how work was going and he learned more about Josh. He has been very supportive to me from the start and he even fired one of my co-workers before because of his frequent discrimination with my homosexuality. I respected him more after that. He was the one who taught me that I should only listen to those whose opinions mattered in my life and I should just block out the others because I wouldn't learn anything from them. "I'm gonna finish the basic framework of the JIVE project in the office but once it's uploaded, I'm taking some off and work at home or whenever." I informed him. "Sure." He said to me. It was one of the perks working with Matt. He allows his workers to work at home or anywhere as long as you meet deadlines and what you have is good. It was my first time asking him this for the past 3 years I've been working with him. My cell phone rang. "Excuse me." I told Matt as I looked at the caller ID quickly and answered it. "Hey Josh." I said. "Hey! I called at home but no one was answering your phone." He told me. "Yeah. I worked til 7 in the office and Matt asked me to have dinner." I said. "Matt is your boss, right?" He inquired. "Yeah." I answered. "Well, call me when you reach home, okay?" He told me. "Sure. Love you." I whispered so the other patrons wouldn't hear. "Love you too. Bye." He said and hung up. "Isn't that cute?" Matt cooed as I placed my cell phone in my pocket. I just blushed a little bit. "Now, that's cuter?!" He chuckled. "Stop picking on me." I retorted childishly and laughed afterwards. Once we were composed, we resumed our conversation about our lives. "How's the wife?" I asked. "She's doing good. 6 months already." He said dreamily. Matt's wife, Nadine, was pregnant and I knew that Matt was extremely happy. They were just married a year ago and it was their first child together. Deep inside, I was even envious because they were gonna have a child and I have always wanted to have a child of my own. Maybe I could talk to Josh about that someday. "That's great. You call me when she is gonna give birth, okay? I wanna be there." I told him. "Sure." Matt answered. I was so full once we finished our meal. Matt called for the bill and even if I protested that I wanna pay, he paid everything. "Maybe next time." He said. Once everything was settled, we stood up and left. "Thanks for dinner, Matt." I told him as we reached the sidewalk. "No problem. See you tomorrow." He said and we walked our separate ways. I walked to my car and drove home with a contented look. Dinner was just so good. I reached my home quicker than usual because of the light traffic. I heard Pookie already barking when I placed my key in the keyhole. "I forgot all about you." I chuckled to myself because I forgot all about Pookie. She must be extremely hungry. I opened the door and she was running between my legs wagging her tail. "I'll fix your dinner now." I said as I picked her up and walked to the kitchen. I prepared her dog food and placed it in her dog bowl. She was really hungry from the looks of it. She was practically devouring everything I placed in her bowl. I left her in the kitchen and decided to call Josh. I dialed JC's cell phone. It rang once. Twice. "Hey Kyle." Josh answered. "Hi babe. I just reached home." I said as I plopped down on the couch and turned to TV on but toned down the volume. "Cool. I've wanted to hear your voice since the last time we talked. It has been extremely boring here." He told me. "I wish I can say the same but my mind was practically in my work. Dinner with Matt was my only meal since breakfast with Ken." I said. "Jesus Kyle! You know that you should not forgot the important things like eating. What if you collapse or get sick because you're too hungry?" JC said in his motherly tone. "Yes mom." I teased. "Don't mom me, mister. I'm serious here. You should not forget those things, Kyle. I love you and I don't know what I'll do when something happens to you." Josh said. He was dead serious about it. "I'm sorry about it. I promise that I'll not forget my meals." I said a little bit guilty for make Josh worry about it. Heck, it was the first time a person worried about me because of skipping a meal. But I wouldn't complain because it just made me feel loved by Josh more. "Enough with the scolding. What are you doing now?" I asked. "I'm just in my bunk tinkering with the laptop. We're travelling tonight by bus." Josh sighed. I have seen their bus and it was not that comfortable especially if it was gonna be a home for 5 people. It was really crowded and cramped. "Oh right. You have a concert tomorrow. Good luck on that." I told him. "Yeah, I think we need that. Our concerts aren't really stellar these days." Josh said. "Oh come on, you guys give the best shows in the world." I complimented. "I'm just a little off most of the times. I just have so many things in my mind." Josh said. "Well, I'll listen to them if you want. It's always good to talk it out." I said. JC took a deep breath and I laid on the couch in a more comfortable position. "First, there's always you. I really really miss you to death. It's like I'm addicted to you. If I don't get my Kyle fix, I just don't function correctly for the day. I just zone out or something. And I think Wade is losing his patience with me already because I'm the one who commits the mistakes these days." JC said. We had talked about this before and I have heard this from Paul as well but what could I do? I was in Florida and he was always traveling. "The other guys are just forcing me to be always happy. I mean they try almost everything that it gets tiring already. And I have to add my parents as well who still don't know that I am gay and I have the best boyfriend in the world. My mom just called me a while ago and he wants me to meet a nice girl that she knows. I just, just get so frustrated about everything like I'm gonna explode!" JC was really exasperated from his tone. "Your parents don't know?" I asked. I didn't know about that. Well, I really didn't know Josh that well since we were only dating for weeks. "I haven't talked to them yet. They're in DC and I want to tell it to them face to face and not through the phone because this is really a big thing." JC explained. "I wish I can just appear there and comfort you. You sound so stressed out there." I said. "You mentioned it. I hate touring because I don't get to sleep that good and we are always in the move and perform and then go to this place and that place. I'm just human and they treat us like robots!" JC said. Josh has a serious problem of repressed feelings. He couldn't express himself right and it's causing him stress. It broke my heart hearing him this way. It just makes me want to fly out to wherever they are. "Don't worry. I know that you have a break or something like that." I told him hoping that he did have a break. "Yeah. Thank God we're having a few days off and I really need that right now." Josh replied. "Few days off? When?" I asked oblivious of what he informed me. "Wait a minute." JC told me. "Lance! When is our break?" I heard him shout. "Thursday til Sunday." I heard Lance shout back. "Thursday til Sunday." Josh relayed what Lance said. "Will you go home?" I asked hoping that he would go home. I also missed him and I was dying to touch him once again. "There? Of course! My flight arrangements are ready already. I was gonna surprise you but I think it's out now." He answered with a chuckle. It made my heart skip a beat because of the excitement and joy. "Oh my God! For real!" I exclaimed. "Yup. You'll see me at your doorstep on Thursday." Josh told me. "I can't wait for Thursday to come. Are you coming morning, lunch or dinner? Do you want me to fetch you? Then we can go have a date or something and watch a film. This is gonna be so great." I babbled as different ideas on how we could spend our time together entered my mind. "Easy there Ky. I'll be there by lunch time. Is it okay if you fetch me? I want my stay there to be low key if possible." Josh said. "You know that you don't have to ask. I'll be there." I answered excitedly. "This is gonna be so so great." I was so close in jumping on the couch because of joy. Even Pookie entered the living room to see why I was so ecstatic. When she saw me on the phone, she walked back to the kitchen leaving me alone. "Cool." Josh said. "Cee! Tour manager wants a meeting here!" Justin shouted. "Is it important?" Josh shouted. "I can't believe that we're gonna have this shit now." Josh told me with a tinge of irritation. "Yes!" Justin shouted once again. I heard Josh sigh. "Just a minute." I heard JC shout back. "Kyle, I'll talk to you later okay? We have a meeting about something." Josh told me. "I'll just call you tomorrow. I'm kinda beat because of the long day but I'm so excited of seeing you on Thursday." I told Josh. "I'm excited too. You go rest now. I'll call you soon. Love you." JC said and hung up. I placed the phone back to its cradle and walked to my room with a grin plastered on my face. I was really happy. I took a quick shower and laid on my bed for the first after a few days. "I miss my bed!" Once my body touched the bed, I felt so heavy and sleepy. I didn't really feel it earlier but maybe it has caught up with me. Mental note, don't over-exert yourself once again. "This has been a long day." I said to no one in particular. I closed my eyes and slept soundly. -------------------- End of Chapter This has been a very easy chapter to write for me. Maybe it's the inspiration or maybe the boredom that I am feeling at the moment. Nevertheless, that's chapter 24. It was light and JC is coming home to Kyle soon so watch for that soon. I am just so happy because it's the start of a new year and I really needed that. It just gives me a little hope that something good is gonna happen next year. I can't wait. Oh yeah, please vote for JC's single, Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love). It's a great track and it deserves to be #1 anywhere. Thanks to ALL of you who have taken the time and MAILED me!
