Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2000 05:25:08 -0800 (PST) From: Alec C. Subject: When my pretty boy sleeps prologue, ch1, ch2 This is my first Nsync slash. I've written BSB and Westlife slash before but never Nsync. So be gentle in the feedback ok? Disclaimer: it's all in my mind and it's not true. Prologue Boybands... Five gorgeous members who can dance and sing. There seemed to be so many of these boybands. But each band had their own story to tell. How they got together, how they split up or how they survived. Nsync has a similar story to tell. Five members, five personalities and one story. When Nsync was formed there were five people slowly becoming friends. Now five years later there was Chris and Joey, Lance and Justin and JC. Chris and Joey, best friends, spent more hours clubbing than sleeping. The Italian Stallion and Pineapple as they called each other were both known for their flirting and the many women they had. Lance and Justin, also best friends, always shared a room. They were inseparable. Their boyish looks got them many admirers among the vast growing amount of fans. And than there was JC. JC was withdrawn but not too distant. He was polite but friendly. He had never made an attempt to become good friends. The only time he had opened up was when he told them that he was gay. Everyone loved his boyfriend Ryan. He was the complete opposite of JC. Ryan always went on tour with them. All the mystery surrounding JC made him the most popular member of the band. But life as a pop star wasn't one that went over roses. Each one of them struggled with their own demons. Chris wanted to settle down, Joey wished that he could write great songs, Lance had no idea how to divide his time between the band and his own company. And Justin struggled with his sexuality. He never felt anything when he was with a girl. No love, no deeper feelings that should make his knees weak. He was the first member of Nsync that decided after all those years to approach JC to talk about something that had nothing to with the band or the current tour. All Justin wanted was a little talk to help him sort out his feelings. Part 1 Justin stepped outside his room and quickly glanced down the hall. JC always insisted to have a room next to the lifts, while the others wanted to sleep as far away as possible. He slowly walked to the room. Justin was almost afraid that the door would open and that JC would yell to him. He had never talked about something so personal before. He raised his hand and knocked on the door. The door instantly flew open and Ryan appeared. 'Hi.' Justin stuttered. Ryan seemed a little agitated that Justin had knocked on the door. 'Hi. Can I help?' 'I'd like to talk to JC. Is he there?' Justin tried to look over Ryan's shoulder. 'Yeah, he's in. Are you going clubbing later on?' Justin shook his head. 'No. I promised myself an early night.' Ryan smiled. 'You should allow your self those luxuries.' Justin nervously smiled back. 'Well, I'll leave you two to chat. I'll see you again tomorrow.' Ryan left the door open for Justin and walked to the lift. Justin walked inside the room. It was very neat. Unlike his room there were no clothes scattered all over the floor. 'JC?' Justin's voice broke from his nerves. 'Who is it?' 'It's me Justin. Can we have a talk?' JC came out of the bathroom. He had a wet cloth pressed to the site of his head. 'What happened to you?' JC grimaced. 'I hit my head when I picked something up. I forgot that the cupboard doors were open. I've a slight bump on my head now.' JC sat down. 'So what's on your mind?' Justin shuffled with his feet. 'How...when...what...' JC noticed the younger man being very uncomfortable. 'Is this music related or does it have to do with Ryan and me?' Justin blushed. 'You and Ryan.' He mumbled. JC smiled. 'What do you want to know?' Justin sat down on the very edge of the chair. 'When did you know that you liked men?' The blush on his cheeks turned crimson. 'I kissed a girl and nothing happened. All the fireworks that I expected never came. Than I kissed a guy when we were drunk and the fireworks came.' JC looked at Justin. 'Do you think that you are gay?' Justin sighed. 'I don't know. I've never had those fantastic feelings when I kissed a girl. But I've never kissed a man so I don't know. I feel confused.' 'And you are looking for answers that you can't find at the moment?' Justin nodded. 'You'll find them soon enough. I had that too and than I met Ryan.' 'So I should kiss a guy and than things will work out right?' JC chuckled. 'That's one way of putting it.' Justin stood up. 'Thanks for the talk.' JC rose to his feet too. 'You are welcome. Any time.' JC walked him to the door. Suddenly Justin grabbed him and pressed his lips against JC's. JC gasped in surprise and Justin slipped his tongue inside JC's warm mouth. JC kissed him back for a mere second and than pushed him away. 'Justin, no!' JC touched his lips. 'You can't kiss me. I'm with Ryan.' Justin stared at the floor. 'I'm sorry.' He looked up with tear filled eyes. 'Don't be mad.' JC reached out and hugged him. 'I'm not mad.' Justin flashed a tiny smile. 'Thanks.' He walked back to his room without looking over his shoulder. JC stood in the doorway and looked at Justin's back. He hoped that Justin found his answer and that he didn't feel the fireworks. Falling for JC could be lethal. And he wasn't thinking about Justin. Part 2 Justin tried very hard to forget about the kiss. But he seemed more aware of JC than ever before. JC was every where. Each time Justin turned around he was there. Maybe he had been there before but he never noticed. His senses went into overload. Was this what JC meant with fireworks? He caught himself staring at JC several times during the sound check. JC started to come alive. As soon as the light went out in the arena JC would be a whole different man. A man Justin was starting to fall for. 'Justin?' Lance smacked him on the arm. 'Any plans to get changed or do you want to wait here until the arena fills with screaming girls?' 'Huh?' Was Justin's answer. 'The sound check finished about 15 min ago and you are still staring into space. Something wrong?' Justin shook his head. 'No, just spaced out I guess.' Lance shrugged. 'Come on, let's get changed.' Justin followed Lance backstage. Lance went directly to the canteen but Justin walked to the dressing room. He opened the door and took a deep breath. JC was there, alone. Justin slipped inside. JC hadn't noticed him yet. Justin watched him pull the sweater over his head. JC moaned softly. Justin frowned. JC reappeared and tossed the sweater on the couch. Justin saw a bruise on JC's arm. JC continued to undress. Another bruise was revealed on his chest. Justin covered his mouth with his hand. Justin couldn't watch anymore. 'Please, JC.' JC's head snapped up. 'What are you doing here?' Justin opened his mouth but nothing came out. 'I always get changed before dinner. And I always get changed alone.' 'I wanted to grab my CD player. I left it in my bag.' Mumbled Justin. JC covered his chest with his wifebeater. 'Your bag is over there.' He pointed at the bag. Justin walked to the table and took his CD player from his bag. 'JC...' 'I fell over a chair when I showed Ryan a dance move.' JC's eyes moved through the room but didn't lock with Justin's. 'You don't need to defend your self. I just wanted to thank you for the talk we had the other day. Things have become a bit clearer.' JC nodded. 'I'm glad. I'd like to get changed now.' Justin walked to the door. He glanced over his shoulder. JC had turned his back to him. Several red streams were visible and a bruise that had almost faded. Justin swallowed the bile that rose in his throat. He closed the door behind and bumped into Chris. Justin almost jumped to the ceiling. 'Jumpy are we?' Laughed Chris. Justin grabbed him by his arm and dragged Chris into the empty room next to the dressing room. 'Justin, what's going on?' 'Shh.' Justin closed the door. ' Have you ever noticed anything strange about Ryan?' 'Ryan?' Chris thought for a minute. 'Besides the fact that he can drink more than Joey? Nope.' Justin sighed. 'I'm being serious here Chris.' Chris saw the look in Justin's eyes. 'You look distressed.' 'What about JC?' Chris threw his hands in the air. 'How am I suppose to notice anything strange about JC when we hardly see him. And when we do see him he never speaks.' 'Nevermind.' Justin left the room. He passed the dressing room again. He heard Ryan's voice through the door. 'I knew that you were stupid but this stupid? God JC.' Justin shivered but couldn't move. 'I can't look the door. It's their dressing room too.' Justin heard the distinctive sound of flesh hitting flesh. 'What did you tell him?' 'That I was showing you a dance move and fell over a chair.' Again the slapping sound. 'Ryan.' JC's voice was tear-filled and Justin never heard someone beg like that in his life. His legs suddenly couldn't carry him anymore and he rushed to the bathroom. He emptied his stomach in the toilet and sank on the floor. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was the cause of the bruise on JC's ribs. Justin repressed a sob. There had to be something that he could do without Ryan finding out. Justin sighed. He would start by talking to Lance first. Any feedback, good or bad, can be send to Alecsandria@yahoo.com Please give your reasons why it's good or bad. I'd love to know. Alec
