Chapter 156

Hours Earlier

The early morning quietness of the silent halls of Kurucu's Haven was broken by a soft thud.

Two men dressed in black stood in silence in the darkness, one of the two glaring at the younger man staring at him with nervous emotion.

The younger of the two had run into a chair in the darkened hallway, the chair brushing against a small table, a bronze statue falling to the carpeted floor, its loud thud sounding thunderous in the silent dark hall.

Two intense softly glowing dark pools stared at the young man with burning determination.

Both men stood perfectly still, the house silent, no one stirring.

They stood in silence for a few minutes, nothing but the soft ticking of a grandfather clock at the hall's end heard.

The man moved, the younger lowering his eyes, the man's head going against his.

"Watch where you're going, Carl. One more mistake like that and I'll silence you myself."

Carl Wilson's eyes stared at Sheridan, Sheridan moving back.

"Move it, and keep your eyes open." the man said, moving forward down the darkened hall.

Carl followed, his eyes scanning everywhere in the dimly lit darkness.

Sheridan Whitecastle stopped at a closed door, the man staring at it.

His eyes focused, softly glowing, Carl watching him.

Sheridan focused on the door.

Perhaps I should slip in here and slit your throat, Emerson.

But that sweet revenge will come soon enough.

Sleep in peaceful slumber, old man.

Your and your grandson's lives will end in pain soon.

He glanced across the hall, seeing another closed door, the man pointing to it.

Carl moved to the door, Sheridan moving as well.

His hand went to the doorknob, finding it unlocked, walking into the dark room, Carl following.

Sheridan closed the door behind him, glancing around the room.

Carl's blue eyes adjusted to the dimly moonlit room, remembering it as Emerson's library.

"It's here, Sheridan?" the man softly said, Sheridan staring at him.

Carl lowered his eyes, the man's gaze moving.

"Yes, it's here. The entrance to our needs." Sheridan said, his blue eyes staring at the portrait hanging above the fireplace.

"Hiding truths can't stop the reality of life, old man." the man said, walking across the room, Carl following.

Sheridan's hand went to the carved buffalo head on the end of the mantle, the young man hitting the hidden clasp.

Carl's eyes widened, seeing the shelf unit beside the fireplace move, a dark passage showing behind it.

Sheridan smiled, moving forward, pulling out a flashlight from his pocket.

He turned it on, the light showing a small hallway, dark steps at its end going downward.

"Onward to truth." he smiled, the man's foot moving one step forward.

"Truth lies in all souls, thief."

Carl and Sheridan's heads turned, staring at a young man standing in front of the closed door.

Neither man had heard the young man enter the room or close the door behind him.

"You won't find what you seek, monster." Lucas said, the young man moving forward, the two men breaking out of their surprise, Sheridan's hands raising.

Carl's eyes widened, seeing a white flash come out of Lucas' hands which were raised, an equal glowing redness coming out of Sheridan's extended palms, seconds before Lucas'.

The red light hit Lucas' chest, propelling the man backwards, the young man falling over his grandfather's desk.

Lucas' white light hit Sheridan's chest, the man thrown backwards, the man screaming in pain.

Lucas hadn't made a sound, the young man now lying on the floor behind the desk and against the wall.

Carl went to Sheridan's side, the man's face convulsed in pain.

He rose to his feet, staggering, and Carl's arm going around him.

The two moved with speed, heading for the closed door and the darkness of the hallway.

Lucas was slowly rising to his feet, his eyes glowing a vibrant green.

His t-shirt was in tatters, a red mark emblazed across his chest.

The two men moved as one out the door, Carl moving forward with Sheridan in his arms.

The two disappeared into the darkness, Lucas staring after them, the young man slowly sinking down into his grandfather's leather desk chair.

He closed his glowing green eyes, his mind and magic flowing.

I felt your evil cross the threshold, monster.

His soul is yours.

And mine is my own.

What you seek is hidden from even it.

And I have the key to unleashing it all.

Lucas' eyes opened, their greenness changing to a soft white, his eyes looking down at the disappearing redness leaving his chest.

He rose to his feet, the young man staggering, his hands going to the desk's surface, his magic flowing through him.

Your magic is strong, Sheridan.

But the evil hasn't given you all of its magic.

It did the same with Haven.

What it seeks may surprise all of you.

Including itself.

Pawns move on the chessboard of life.

But you're moving into a corner.

And I have the weapons to call checkmate.

Lucas moved slowly, the man feeling the lingering pain, the redness now completely gone.

His hands moved towards the open passageway, the shelving unit moving back, the room as it always had been.

He walked over to the fireplace, his hands going to the mantelpiece, staring at the buffalo head at its end.

Magic lives in hidden places.

Destiny lives in my soul.

I may be the key to everything.

His eyes went upwards, staring at the portrait of Isadora Belmont.

My family holds its secrets close.

But I am more than family, I am magic.

Prepare for what lays below.

The real Trinity is coming.

The young man's hand moved, rubbing over the buffalo's head.

The young man sighed, taking a deep breath, walking quietly out of the room.

A shadow moved in one dark corner, its eyes staring at the fireplace, staring now at a bear's head showing at the end of the mantle where a buffalo's once showed.

A soft smiled crossed the image's face as it faded, the mansion again under a blanket of silence.

Present Time

Josh stared at Lucas' sleeping face, Justin and Lance on the other side of the bed, both staring at him as well.

Horace took off the blood pressure gauge, taking off his stethoscope.

"His blood pressure's very low, and his heart rate has slowed as well. He's completely exhausted. It's as if all his metabolism has slowed down, or been through a wringer." the doctor said, his hand going to Josh's shoulder.

"He'll sleep all day, if not right through the evening." he softly smiled, Josh looking at Lucas.

"He was that exhausted, Horace?" Emerson said, the man standing at the end of the bed, Horace rising from his seat on the bed's edge.

"Yes, Emerson. His signs are all lowered. The boy shows no signs of physical trauma, only exhaustion. He needs to recharge his batteries and renew his strength. That takes rest and calmness." the physician said, Emerson nodding, looking at the young man asleep in the bed.

"That he'll have." Josh said, his eyes meeting Emerson, the man softly smiling at him.

"Guaranteed, Josh. We'll leave him in peace." he said, the man walking out of the room with Horace, Josh's eyes going back to Lucas' face.

Josh felt Justin's arm going around him, the man kissing his cheek.

"He's going to be okay, Josh. Our Lucas is going to be okay." he said, Josh nodding his head.

"Something's happened, guys. Lucas used his magic greatly today. I think its power drained him." Lance said, Josh's blue eyes meeting his.

"He said something about feeling their evil? It's the evil in this place! The evil's taxing him too much!" Josh said, his friends hearing his emotions.

"He's strong, Josh. We've all seen the power of his magic. He's been so calm all week. He's not afraid of whatever's here. His love has been entering our hearts all week. And in a few days he'll show the greatness of his love to you. His love flows through all of us." Lance said, Josh smiling at him.

"He's my life, Lance. I can't wait to marry him. I want to spend the rest of my life loving him." Josh said, Justin smiling, leaning down and kissing Lucas' sleeping cheek.

"We all want that, Josh. Our lives are going to be filled with his love." Justin said, Lance smiling, leaning down and kissing Lucas' cheek as well.

"Let's let him sleep. Mavis will have lunch ready. We need our energy for his returning love. I'm sure everyone's worried about him. Our calm faces will belay that worry. Our Lucas will be his old self again." Lance said, Justin nodding, leaning over and kissing his man's lips.

"We all have faith in that." he said, Josh smiling at him.

"Lance is right, Josh. Let's let him sleep." Justin said, Josh nodding, Justin pulling him to his feet.

"A fast lunch and you'll be at his side again, Josh." Lance said, Josh looking into his green pools.

"I'll stay with him until you both return." he smiled, Justin smiling, guiding Josh out of the room, the man's eyes on his soulmate until he left.

Lance smiled, his green pools looking towards the young man asleep beside him.

What have you done, Luke?
Why do I feel the total exhaustion in your connection with me?

Why can't I feel the magic as always behind your love?

Lance moved down a bit in the bed, snuggling against the young man's sleeping form.

His head went to Lucas' warm chest, the young man's breathing slowly rising his chest.

Lance felt his instant warmth, the man closing his green pools.

He failed to see the eyes above his head slowly opening.

Justin and Josh both walked into the dining room, everyone rising to their feet.

"How is he, Josh?" Tristan said, Josh smiling at Lucas' father.

"He's asleep, Dad. I'm sure Horace has given all of you his diagnosis. We're just going to have to wait until Lucas awakens later today." Josh said, Savannah's arm going around him, Justin smiling at her.

"Sleep he needs, Josh. My son's magic strengthens him." she said, guiding the man to the table, Finn hugging Josh, Skyler smiling at him.

"His love is unending, Josh. What he's done for me. . .for my family. . .for all of us!" Finn said, Skyler rubbing her man's back, smiling at Josh.

"He never stops giving his love, Josh. I envy you the years ahead." she smiled, Josh smiling at her.

"We'll all experience that love always." he said, Mavis smiling at him.

"Lunch is ready, everyone. You get the bigger helpings in Lucas' stead." she smiled, Josh smiling at her.

"Sweet. I'll have to zonk him out more often." he smiled, Mavis lightly laughing, kissing his cheek.

"He'll be fine. Love trumps magic any day." she said, Josh smiling and sitting down at the table beside Emerson, Justin sitting down beside him.

Everyone smiled at the two men, the table filled with platters of cold meat, salads and other dishes.

Lewis said a short prayer, evoking Lucas' name and love in its warmth.

They all quietly ate, the talk flowing from everyone.

Most of the conversations were on the morning's events.

Colton and Jonathan told everyone of their involvement in Lucas' surprise for the new Delaney-Templeton family.

They'd both moved the gifts into the Receiving room early that morning.

"The boy never stops surprising us." Lewis said, Jacques smiling at his lover.

"His heart is a weapon of surprise, mon cheri. And we will all feel its attack of love. The battles ahead will feed all our souls."

Lewis smiled, kissing his man's cheek.

Josh's blue pools met Emerson's green.

"I want him safe, Emerson. I don't believe he will find safety here." Josh said, Emerson nodding.

"I want him safe as well, Josh. I love him." Emerson said, Josh nodding, his hand going to the older man's arm.

"I know that, Emerson. I love him as well, as does everyone seated here. Something's going on here. Something more than Lucas' loving surprises."

"I believe the same, Josh. And something's indeed happened." Emerson said, his green pools meeting his son's identical eyes.

"He's sealed off the room."

Tristan's eyes widened in surprise; Grayson's eyes meeting his employer's green eyes.

"The entrance to the hidden room in the library?"

Emerson nodded his head, wiping his lips with his napkin, setting it down.

Everyone stared at him, the older man sighing.

"He's changed the entrance. The buffalo head that held the latch to the moving wall is gone. A bear's head now resides there, carved of the same mahogany as the mantle."

Everyone looked surprised, Emerson's eyes going to his son's green.

"You believe Lucas did that?" Tristan said, Emerson staring at him.

"Yes I did, Father."

All eyes moved, Josh on his feet in a flash, walking to the room's doorway, Lucas standing in its center, Lance beside him.

Josh's eyes met Lance's, the man's face showing a soft look of wonder, Josh's arm going around his soulmate.

"What are you doing out of bed, my love?" he said, Lucas smiling at his emotional, worry-filled face.

"I smelled the deliciousness of Mavis' devilled ham. And I still deserve the biggest portion. Or have you eaten it all, sneak?" Lucas smiled, Josh softly smiling at his man.

"There's plenty left, Lucas." Mavis said, Lucas smiling, his arm going around Josh, Josh's eyes meeting Lance's again.

"Good afternoon, family of my heart." Lucas smiled, walking towards the table, everyone rising.

"You. . .you can't. . .you look so refreshed, Lucas!" Horace said, staring at him with wonder.

"Can't keep a good man down, sir." Lucas smiled, Emerson staring at his grandson, Lucas leaning over and kissing his cheek.

"I am alright, Grandfather. We'll discuss the validity of that after lunch. And of hidden rooms. I'm famished!" he smiled, sitting down beside his grandfather, everyone staring at him, the young man smiling.

"Where is that devilled ham?" he smiled, Mavis smiling at him with awed wonder.

"Right here, Lucas." she said, handing him a platter, the man smiling, taking three slices off it.

"Pass the honey mustard, Finny." he smiled, Finn staring at him with soft wonder.

Finn picked up the small bowl of mustard, handing it to Josh.

Lucas smiled, diving into his lunch, everyone continuing with theirs, all eyes on the young man, his face a vision of youthful, healthy happiness.

Two violet pools seemed to sparkle with a thousand lights shining in them.

Everyone smiled at Lucas, the young man seated in a large wing chair by the fireplace, its warmth filling his body with energy.

His eyes went towards the Christmas tree, Rosa Sharon and Stephen on the floor in front of it, the two playing a game on Stephen's new iPad.

He smiled, his eyes on Finn and Skyler, the two seated with their mothers, their two little infants in their grandmothers' arms.

Finn's eyes were on Lucas, the young man smiling at him.

"Come forward with the love, Finnegan. Sit beside me." he smiled, Finn smiling and rising from his seat, Skyler smiling after him, her blue pools meeting Lucas' violet pools.

Finn walked over to his friend, pulling another chair up beside his, Josh staring at the two, he seated with Justin and Lance on a couch.

"Your love is so giving, Lucas. What you did for myself, for my Sky and for our little ones last night. And today." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"You are my brother, Finn. I would give my own happiness to see yours. I see that happiness now in your eyes. Those two angels are going to have a father of gregarious, mirthful, energetic love. And their love and Sky's will keep you happy forever."

Finn smiled, looking at his family.

"You are my brother as well, Lucas. In every sense of the word." he smiled, Lucas smiling, Finn leaning over and kissing his cheek.

"Thank you for the gifts, for the love and for the happiness I now have."

Lucas smiled, nodding.

"Your words before you collapsed this morning confused us all, Luke. What did you mean that you sacrificed something for my children? That they were supposed to. . .?" Finn said, Lucas seeing the emotion on his face again.

"The past is the past, Finn. All that matters is what you see before you. Your healthy soon-to-be wife and your healthy children."
"What did you do, Lucas? Why. . .why did you collapse here?"

Lucas sighed, looking around the room.

"The two are separate events, but joining in a way." he said, Finn's eyes meeting his violet.

"I am magic, Finn. Magic and love as you all have always said. Right now the love's given over to the magic. In a way it now owns me."

"Your magic owns you?" Lewis said, Lucas' violet pools meeting his blue.

"Not my magic, Lewis. My magic remains within my soul. Even that magic knows not of its true self."

"You're not making sense, my love." Josh said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Sorry, my love. I'll expand on the reasoning. As I said earlier, I have known for a few weeks of the coming surprises manifesting themselves here this week. Justin's father's path and its connection to my own family's path. And the deeper love hidden within it in the two souls of sacrificial love." he said, Randall, Myles and Jefferson staring at him with deep friendship and love.

His violet pools went to Finn's blue again.

"I also knew of the coming moments of your family's creation, Finnegan. Only that vision was a different one." he said, Finn's eyes lowering.

"You saw the destruction of my family?" he said, Skyler looking at him with tearful love, Lucas' violet pools meeting her blue.

"No, Finn. I saw the creation of its true reality. A reality I had to create myself."

"You. . .you created my children?" Finn said, Lucas smiling at him.

"No, Finny. Those two are Delaneys through and through. With some Templeton beauty thrown in for good measure."

Finn smiled, Skyler smiling as well.

"I meant that I had to create a different path for them. The path the magic deviously guided me onto."

"The magic is devious?" Lewis said, Lucas smiling at the minister.

"Not in the sense you think, Lewis. I believe it's good, I sense that in its touch. It just has a macabre sense of humor on some levels." Lucas smiled, his eyes going to Finn's eyes again.

"As I stated earlier, your children were on a path of great loss, my friend. A path we'll never speak of again. The magic gave me a choice. A choice I easily accepted. I saw that acceptance in the smiles you and Sky showed this morning at the bottom of those stairs. Two smiles of total happiness. The sacrifice was worth that any day."

"What sacrifice, Luke?" Finn said, his eyes showing a soft tearfulness.

Lucas sighed, looking around the room again, everyone's eyes upon him.

"The magic that breathes in me has grown, everyone. It took from the ring I wore the greater magic hidden in it. It became all-powerful." Lucas said, everyone's eyes going to his hands, the ring not showing on either hand.

"I no longer need the ring. I have returned it to the room."

Emerson stared at his grandson.

"The room in the house's heart?" he said, Lucas staring at him.

"Yes, Grandfather. The room hidden in this place's heart. Hidden from all, of this world and others." Lucas said, looking around the room, his eyes looking upwards, as if he was sensing out the whole house.

"Why have you sealed it off, Lucas?" Grayson said, Lucas looking towards him, then at his grandfather again.

"I informed all of the missing buffalo head, Lucas." Emerson said, Lucas nodding.

"Forbearance guides destiny, Grandfather. Others seek its treasures as well."

Tristan stared at his son, Lucas' eyes returning to everyone's staring looks.

"The treasures that were there are in your hands, Lucas. I myself guided them to you." Emerson said, Lucas nodding his head, looking in reflective thought.

"As I said, the magic informed me of the coming surprises. And it offered me a solution to the heartache threatening us. It felt the love in my heart for you and Sky, Finny."
"What did it offer? I still can't think of that magic as an entity, Lucas." Finn said, Lucas nodding at him.

"It is, Finn. An entity of surprising reality." he said, lowering his eyes for a moment.

His eyes raised again, staring at everyone.

"It offered me a part of its immense healing power. It gave me a way to bring those two angels onto the correct path of their lost lives. I used that magic to bring them into our love. Into your love, Finn and Sky." Lucas said, Finn's hand going to his shoulder.

"But at what cost, Luke? What did you sacrifice?"

Lucas smiled staring into his friend's blue pools.

"Nothing that I have not always given, Finn. The magic sought my love."

Everyone looked confused, Lucas smiling around at everyone.

"This entity, this magic, it seems to be amazed by the concept of love. It felt my love simmering through it. It wanted to experience more than what it felt."

Josh stared at Lucas, the young man smiling at him.

"Before you all get a weird picture in your minds of me being raped by a magical being, that's not what has happened."

Justin smiled at Lucas, the man winking at him.

"It wasn't my physical love it sought out, more my spiritual love. That great ancient magic is enthralled by my actions."

"Your actions, Lucas?" Emerson said, Lucas nodding at him.

"Yes, Grandfather. The magic has been there in the recesses of my soul for the last few months. Every moment that I have shown my love, for all of you, and for my three soulmates has surprised it. So much so that it gave me the choice."

"What was the choice, Lucas?" Finn said, Lucas smiling at him.

"The choice was a surprising one. And one I sensed was always meant to happen. For the magic now knows something that it didn't sense before."

"Your love, Lucas?" Lewis said, Lucas smiling at him.

"No, as I said it already sensed that. That was its need from the beginning." Lucas said, Lewis nodding his head.

"What it found out and didn't sense was my own magic."

Everyone looked confused, Lucas smiling around at everyone.

"It didn't sense your own magic?" Josh said, Lucas shaking his head no.

"No, Josh. And I now know there was a reason for that. And I have my family to thank for that." Lucas said, his eyes going to his parents, Tristan and Savannah staring at him.

Lucas sighed, looking around at everyone again.

"The choice I was given was between two realities--the reality of my own self or the reality of a newer me."
"A newer you, Luke? You mean the new magic the ring gave you?" Trish said, Lucas staring at her.

"The real me you've all known. A man of open love, of honest love. I never hid my feelings for anyone, or anything. I was who I always was. The new me is actually a duality of sorts. I am now the composition of magic and love literally. I am, in essence, two beings joined as one. That was the sacrifice I gave. For the safety and love of our two new angels, I have allowed the magic to possess me completely. It now shares my soul with my love. And it walked into something it wasn't prepared for." Lucas said, the young man rising from his seat, going to the fireplace, his hand going to the mantle, staring into the fire.

Josh rose from his seat, his eyes meeting Finn's, the man walking up to his soulmate.

"It wasn't prepared for the greatness of your love." he said, Lucas' eyes meeting Josh's blue.

"That love overwhelmed it, Joshua. And when that magic joined with me, I was thunderstruck by its greatness and it was thunderstruck by my love. And the balance between both of us was my own magic. A magic that surprised it. I am now a being of immense magic and love. I and the magic are trapped together. I shall be like that until the end of all this. I have sacrificed my own soul's independence. I'm not alone inside myself any more. I am a being of split reality. Magic and Love. And the magic is stronger."
"I think you have that wrong, my love. I have felt your love, I have experienced its intensity. It has grown as well." Josh said, Lucas staring at him.

"I'm still myself, Josh. The man you love. I'm just not only myself. I hope you can accept that. That you all can accept that."
Finn rose from his seat, walking up to the two men.

"You're still yourself, Lucas. You sacrificed your own soul for my children. That was your love giving as always. No magic will make any of us see anything different in you." he said, Lucas staring at him.

"I will always give everything for all of you." he said, Finn hugging him close, Josh smiling at his man.

"Finn's right, Lucas. You are love." he said, Lucas softly smiling at him.

Justin and Lance both rose from their seats, walking up to the men.

"So. . .this magic. . .is its need what we've felt this week?" Justin said, Lucas smiling at him.

"No, Jus. It's within me, but it doesn't interfere with my showing love. It just senses the beauty of it. That in turn enlivens my own soul. Just think of it as an aphrodisiac." he smiled, Justin grinning.

"I like this magic already." he said, Josh lightly laughing, Lance smiling at his soulmate.

Finn stared at Lucas, the man feeling his friend's emotions.

"Are you threatened by this magic, Lucas? Does it hurt you?" he said, Lucas' hand going to his friend's shoulder.

"No, Finn. I am not scared of it now." he said, Josh looking at him.

"Why now?" he said, Lucas smiling.

His eyes went to Skyler and the two infants, smiling at the small bundles in their grandparents' arms.

"These two little angels were not the only infants created last night." he said, everyone looking confused.

"When I gave over to the choice, when I allowed the magic to possess me totally, I felt its healing power immediately. That was the blue glow you all saw around your bed last night, Sky. The magic healing of that ancient magic. It gave me the healing magic to guide Julian and Diana onto the path of life. But in doing so it gave me the answer to everything." he said, the young man moving, walking over to Skyler, kneeling at her feet, his violet pools looking at little Diana in Lorraine's arms.

Her small face was staring at Lucas, her blue eyes sparkling.

He smiled, leaning towards her, his fingers going to her forehead.

A soft whiteness showing instantly, the little girl cooing.

"Two angels of love. Thank you for the truth." he smiled, his fingers going to Julian's forehead in Momma Mavis' arms, the woman staring at him with wonder.

Julian's forehead sparkled with whiteness, Lucas smiling.

"Marked in love, united in magic. My love is yours forever, little angels." he said, the young man rising to his feet, Skyler staring up at him.

"They have my protective love always, Sky. And their love at the moment of its creation gave me an even greater gift. It showed me mine own self. Of what I am and what I always was." he said, his violet pools meeting Josh's.

"You're yourself, my love."

"Right now I'm not, Joshua. I'm myself and that ancient magic. But I am something more. Something it or no one suspected." he said, his eyes going to his parents, then to Emerson.

"What is that, my son?" Tristan said, Lucas smiling at him, walking up to his father and mother.

"I am a combination of all truths. Those shown and those hidden. The Carlisles, the Belmonts, the Carvers, and the lost truth of our families' histories."

"A lost truth, Lucas?" Tristan said, Lucas nodding his head.

"Yes, Father. I am a being of magic, love and destiny. I am all and I am everything. And the ancient magic that now possesses me didn't know that. What it sought to create is now its own undoing." Lucas said, his violet pools changing to emerald green, those pools softly glowing.

"I am the true magic, Grandfather. The magic that controls all your futures. For that magic is older than history. And it's been within me since my birth. For it followed all of your families through history. To this moment and this reality." he said, Emerson staring at him.

"You. . .you are a being of two magical souls?" he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Partially, Grandfather. But I am something more. I am a triad of three souls of realities. I had it wrong, Grandfather. I am the true Trinity."

Tristan stared at his son in disbelief, Emerson walking up to Lucas.

"You. . .you are the true Trinity, Lucas? You're. . .you're not making sense." he said, Lucas' hand going to his shoulder.

"It makes perfect sense, Grandfather. Within me is an ancient magic, long lost within this house, within this family. The evil that permeates here is the duality of that magic. Good against evil, evil reflecting good. I am a creation of two families of that same magic. The Belmonts and the Carlisles. Both shrouded in mystery and magic. I am real, living and loving. And within me is an even greater magic. The truer magic of the eons. The ancient magic is a catalyst for the dying hope of someone. The truer magic is immense in its truths. And I--the human who carries it all--am a creation of that magic's path. I was always destined to carry what I carry. But neither of the magic was prepared for my greatest reality. That I am a being of love. That is the reality of what I am. Love. I'm real, and I'm love."

"What is this hidden magic, Lucas? Who or what created it? Was it God?" Lewis said, Lucas smiling at him.

"God creates everything, Lewis. All that I know is that I do not fear the deeper hidden magic. It is immense.  For it controls myself and the ancient magic. The ancient magic walking into a greater magic without realizing it. The two magics have created a compromise. Both will aid me as they must. And they will both feel my love for their assistance. I am a walking Trinity of reality. The sacrifice I made wasn't that great of a sacrifice. Not when it was laced with love."
Colton walked over to Lucas, the young man staring at him.

"The greater magic I have not felt, Lucas."
"Nor would you, Colt. It is hidden. As the ancient magic you feel has now found out. You feel that magic because you're a descendent of its own self. One day that truer magic within me may make itself known. Right now I'm thankful for its acceptance of myself, and its tolerance of the other magic, however misguided it may be. I am a greater being of magic now. They are both within myself."

Emerson stared at his grandson.

"You said that you felt their evil before you collapsed, Lucas. Has the evil returned?" he said, Lucas kissing his grandfather's cheek.

"For the briefest of moments, Grandfather. That's why the room is now sealed off to all magic."
"To all magic, Lucas? Evil as well? Even the magic within you?" Tristan said, Lucas nodding.

"I sensed the evil's return early this morning. In the thriving darkness of its need. Its need to find what lays hidden there." he said, his eyes meeting Emerson's, then his father's.

"The truer magic woke me from a dream early this morning. I walked into an attempted burglary this morning, Grandfather. I found Carl Wilson and Sheridan Whitecastle in your library."

Everyone looked surprised, Emerson's eyes widening.

"That. . .that young monster was here?" he said, Lucas' hand going to his grandfather's shoulder.

"Yes, Grandfather. But that young man's tenacity has grown. Evil has found its next victim. It has possessed him. And Carl is the man's slave in all ways." he said, Josh's arm going around Lucas.

Lucas' eyes met Grayson's, the lawyer staring at him with concern.

"He was my family, Lucas. But he chose his path. I cannot condone his actions. He now walks with evil in his soul."

"I know, Gray. We all walk our paths, choosing our sides."

Lucas met Josh's blue pools, seeing his worried look.

"Was that what injured you, Lucas? Their evil?" he said, Lucas kissing his cheek.

"I was prepared for their evil, my love. Sheridan has evil's magic. He hit me with his best shot. It temporarily knocked me over, but my magic gave him a greater pain. Carl had to carry him out of here. By the time I gained my bearings they were gone. My new self easily healed that evil's magic to myself."

Josh stared at him, Lucas kissing his cheek.

"This morning I was temporarily exhausted by the reality of the two magic beings within myself finding themselves. Their confrontation drained my soul. That was why I collapsed. Their magic has been brewing all morning. When the truer magic healed myself in the library, the ancient magic felt its presence for the first time. They had a lot to talk over. The truer magic healed me when it gained the other's acceptance. And here I now am." he smiled, everyone staring at him with awed wonder.

"I have sealed off the room to stop anyone from venturing down there. Magical or real. That room remains only accessible by myself."
"There is nothing there, Lucas. Nothing of value. You have its three treasures. All that remains there is the altar upon which they sat, and the painting of all our ancestors." Emerson said, Isadora's arm going around her husband.

"There is more there than what you see, Grandfather. It's not what lays there as what it represents. One of the triad of destiny."

"You are a man of mystery, my grandson. I have been in that room often. What does it represent?"

"The truth, Grandfather. Of this world and others." Lucas said, kissing his grandfather's cheek again.

"One day I will venture into that room for real, not for dreams. And that will bring all full circle. That truth can wait for a later path. Paths move as they must." he said, looking at Finn.

"Life moves on. Love comes, this week and all through the New Year. My first year as a married man." he smiled at Josh, Josh smiling.

"Can't wait, my love."

Lucas smiled, kissing his lips.

The two parted, Lucas looking around at everyone.

"I am who you see, everyone. I am the same man of giving love you've all known. I'm just more magical."

Justin smiled, kissing Lucas' cheek.

"Got that right."
Lucas smiled, slapping his ass.

Lance smiled, kissing Lucas' cheek as well.

"Let's leave the future to its own devices. Don't worry about what's happened in regards to the evil. My protective, greater magic will keep it away from all of us. I think it's learned its lesson. I protect all of you. Let's relax, love and be loved." he smiled, Finn smiling at him.

"It's Boxing Day, Finny! Want to go a few rounds?" Lucas grinned, Finn laughing.

"No way! You're too freaking strong, Magic Man." he grinned, Lucas laughing.

"And you're too old and slow. What's your point?" he smiled, Skyler laughing, Lorraine handing her daughter to her.

"Let me at that angel." Lucas smiled, Skyler standing up, guiding the little infant into his arms.

Lucas smiled, looking down into the little girl's blue pools.

"Welcome to life, Diana Sky. Uncle Lukey loves you." he smiled, Finn and Skyler smiling.

Lucas relaxed the rest of the day, everyone feeling his calming love.

He talked privately with everyone, everyone's questions for him answered.

He talked to his parents and grandparents, the four feeling his reassuring love and awing at his new self.

They all sensed the deep magic living within him, Lucas' calm love calming their concerns.

He seemed unchanged but different.

More assured, more calm and more protective.

They all were calmed by his love and magic.

They all spent the day enjoying each other's company, and their own moments of love.

Lucas felt the love of his three soulmates, their love showing often in stolen kisses, soft caresses and promised love for later.

They ate, laughed and enjoyed the day.

The men didn't box, but they did engage in some roughhousing and good fun all afternoon.

Finn was tackled by Lucas, the Welshman in the middle of a four-sided tickle fight.

Lucas and his three soulmates made him scream with laughter.

"Not fair! This just gets you all hot and bothered!" Finn laughed, the four releasing him from their tickle barrage.

"No worries, Finny. We all like our smooth sweeties." Lance said, Justin kissing his lips.

"You don't know what a real man is, Lance." Finn said, climbing to his feet off the floor.

"No, but I know what three are. Damn near heaven!" he grinned, his three loves laughing, Finn blushing.

"You four are sleeping on the beach on Embrace Island. You can jump in the ocean to cool off." he grinned, Lucas smiling at him.

"Yes, you in a thong will get us all hot and bothered."

Justin burst into laughter, Finn saluting his friend.

They all laughed, relaxing together.

Dinner was delicious, the evening given over to card games and other relaxing games.

They all retired to the games room; laughter, conversation and happiness flooding it.

Josh smiled, the man playing cards with Grayson, Gabriel and Gideon, seeing Lucas seated on the couch beside Skyler, little Julian asleep in Lucas' arms.

"I should take him, Luke." Skyler smiled, Lucas smiling at her.

"He's fine where he is. I feel his love. I'm filling his dreams with mine." he smiled, kissing the infant's cheek.

Finn smiled at him, he seated on Skyler's other side, little Diana in his strong arms, asleep as well.

"Would you ever have imagined it, Luke? Us with children in our arms. My children." Finn said, Lucas smiling at Skyler.

"I always imagined you as a father, Finn. Your love's too large to not be denied to a child's need. Now you have two. I envy them their future happiness." Lucas smiled, Finn smiling widely.

"I'll love them forever, Lucas." he said, Skyler kissing her man's cheek.

Lucas smiled, Skyler kissing his cheek.

"They should be in their new bed, Finny." she smiled, Finn smiling and rising up, Lucas rising as well.

"Come on, Uncle Lukey. Let's put my angels to bed." Finn smiled, Lucas smiling, the two walking out of the room with their treasures.

Josh smiled at the two leaving, the man smiling at Skyler.

She smiled, getting up from her seat, walking over to Trish and her mother, the three ladies talking.

A half hour later, Finn and Lucas walked back into the games room, Lucas smiling at his man as Josh wrapped his arms around him as he walked through the door.

"You lost, didn't you?" he smiled, Josh blushing.

"Yep, I did. Those three lawyers are card sharks." he said, the three men at the table blowing him kisses, Tristan now playing with them.

"My poor baby. I don't like kissing losers." Lucas smiled, Josh smiling at him, then looking at Finn.

"You and Finny were making out?"

Finn raised a finger, Lucas laughing.

"Nah, I don't like hair in my teeth." Lucas said, Finn raising another finger, walking over to his soulmate.

Josh laughed, Lucas' lips kissing his.

Josh felt the love in that kiss, his man's arms wrapping around him.

"Where are the other two of our heart?"

"They're just finishing their last pool game with Nick and Gio." Josh smiled, Lucas looking towards the pool table, Justin wearing a look of dejection.

"More losers. What am I going to do with you three?"

Josh smiled, his lips kissing Lucas' neck.

"You're going to love us, my love."

"Damn right." he said, Josh staring into his blue pools.

"We have the night to voice our love, my Joshua. Their love is there as well."
Josh smiled, the two walking towards the pool table.

Lucas backed up, staring at the three surrounding him.

Justin was crying, Lance's arms around him, the man laying against Josh's chest.

"Sorry, my loves. Didn't mean to take more than you could give." Lucas said, the three staring at him with emotional eyes.

"Oh, Lucas! That was. . .that was amazing." Lance said, his naked body on full display, his center now flaccid.

The other two beside him were naked as well, Lucas' naked vision on full view before them.

"Oh, Lucas! Your love. . .it is always so. . .!" Justin sobbed, Josh kissing his cheek.

"I love you three. I give to you all my deepest love. It's just more intense now. Magic is infused within it, on several levels."

"It's amazing, Lucas. Your love and desires are so intense." Lance said, Lucas smiling, leaning forward and kissing his warm lips.

"And I'm still raring to go." he smiled, breaking the kiss, Lance laughing.

"Give us a breather, stud. We're not as virile as you." he said, Lucas smiling, rubbing Lance's flaccid center.

"And I'm not as giving as the monster." he smiled, Justin smiling at him and his soulmate.

"We all have our talents." he said, Lucas smiling at him, kissing his lips as well.

"I know, HD. You're lips give yours away. I taste my man's sweet ass on them, with a trace of Lance's love nectar." he smiled, Josh smiling.

"It was dripping out. The monster floods us. And Justin loves to get us clean." he smiled, Justin smiling.

"And I love drinking from the tap."

Lucas smiled, staring at all three, the three smiling at him.

"Thank you all for continuing to love me. Now that I'm. . .that I'm different." he said, the three smiling, leaning forward and surrounding him.

Lucas felt their arms enveloping him, Justin's hands on his chest.

"You're not different, Lucas. Your love is more intense, more magical so you say. But the beauty of your giving, loving soul hasn't changed. You're the same man we three fell in love with." Justin said, Lucas smiling, feeling Justin's fingers rubbing his nipples.

"Someone's trying to get dibs on round two." Lucas smiled, Justin smiling, slapping his side.

"We're all here for round two. Just give us a head start." he smiled, his hand wrapping around Lucas' still hard shaft.

"Oh, I've got a head for you. I know you love it." Lucas smiled, Justin sighing, leaning forward and kissing the young man's lips.

They broke their kiss, Justin staring into his violet pools.

"We love all of you, Lucas. Magical, giving, beautiful and romantic." Josh said, Lucas smiling at his soulmate.

"Wait till the wedding. You'll see my romantic heart, my loves." he said, the three smiling.

"I can't wait till the honeymoon. I'm going to make love to my husband all night." Lance said, Justin beaming.

"Now that's romance!"

"I love all three of you." Lucas said, the three seeing the emotion in his violet pools.

"We know, my love. And we love you." Josh said, his lips meeting Lucas'.

They broke the kiss, Lucas staring into Josh's blue pools.

"Monster, calm the HD. I need just my man right now." Lucas said, the young man moving, pushing Josh back into the bed, their lips meeting.

Justin smiled, feeling a hand wrap around his rising center.

He met two green pools, Lance smiling at him.

"I need you just as much, my HD." he said, Justin smiling, the man moving, Lance pulling him on top of him.

Lucas smiled, feeling their love close.

And Josh felt Lucas begin to devour him again.

End of Chapter 156

And so Lucas has revealed the newness of his existence.

He is now a triad of three individuals.

Himself and two of magical greatness.

Where did those two magic beings come from?

What mysteries lie in their realities?

One seems to be stronger than the other.

And the other was unaware of its greatness.

What lays hidden in that mysterious room hidden deep within Kurucu's Haven?

Lucas had already visited it in his dreams, finding nothing but his great-grandfather's vision.

And portraits that changed.

Whatever it is, Sheridan was bent on retrieving it, the evil that possesses him in need of it.

The paths continue.

Up next, friends join, as do families.

A voyage to a tropical island comes.

And couples join in marital bliss.

I'll try and make it interesting.

Hugs, Angel.
