The morning came way too soon. Neither Chris nor Wyatt had slept much
and Chris's decision to sleep on the couch now caused his back to ache.
The brothers found themselves in the kitchen, Chris holding one baby
and Wyatt holding the other.
"Is he going to wake up anytime soon?" Wyatt asked about Leo.
"I don't care." Chris responded.
Leo rolled over, stretching out as he woke. "Ahh." The elder opened his
eyes, and looked over and noticed Chris wasn't in bed. It all came back
to him, and Leo got up. "Hey at least I got my boys with-" The elder
frowned. "Okay, I got no one. Maybe that means the bathroom is free?"
Leo headed for the bathroom, and grinned when no one was in it.
Chris heard the moving around up stairs and he knew it was Leo.
"If you hurry you can catch him naked and wet in the shower." Wyatt
said to his brother with a smile.
"I don't care... he can walk around naked and hard for all I care."
Chris lied.
"Oh I wish."
Leo brushed his teeth, and hopped into the shower. He enjoyed brushing
his teeth in the shower for some reason, and happily went about getting
ready for the day. ~Got to think of something. Think later, brush teeth
now.~
The more Chris thought about it, the more excited him... Leo naked...
that hot body... those strong legs and hard arms... that morning
erection... messy hair. Chris cleared his throat. "So.. umm..."
"Chris... you're pouring salt into your coffee..." Wyatt informed his
brother.
"Oh crud... shoot!"
Leo set his toothbrush on the little ledge in the shower, and stretched
again, the hot water relaxing his muscles. ~Should I go out? I should
go meditate at the bridge. I always feel... connected there. If I don't
find answers there I won't anywhere.~
Chris was getting angrier by the second... he was furious at Leo and it
wasn't just the vows thing from the night before. "LEO!!"
"You're scaring the babies..." Wyatt said and covered the ears of the
baby he was holding.
"What do you want Leo for anyway?"
"Yelling." Chris answered.
Leo jumped, feeling and hearing Chris's shout. "Damn it. I didn't eve
see him yet. What can he be angry about?" The elder grabbed a towel and
orbed downstairs, planning on sneaking a glass of milk before Chris
found him. ~Double damn.~
Chris was frozen in place when he saw Leo in his towel. "Damn you..."
He heard Wyatt laughing in the background. "Take your children... I'm
going out... to find a new husband."
"What?" Leo tucked his towel so it wouldn't fall away. "Wyatt did you
give him cereal, he can't handle cereal. Makes him act like a crazy."
Leo said, staring at Chris, so the boy would know Leo thought he was
being childish.
"Oh don't bring me into this daddy." Wyatt said and took the second
baby from Chris's arms, holding a baby in each arm. "I'll be upstairs."
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Chris yelled at Leo... still
aroused by the sight.
"Me? You're the one saying you're going to go find a new husband!" Leo
threw his arms up in the air. "What's wrong with you?"
"Do you honestly think you love me more than I love you? Huh? Tell me
right now because we may be wasting each other's time and god knows I
don't want to waste your precious time!"
"Where the hell is this coming from?" Leo made a mental note to tell
the boys never to go into a fight without knowing what it is that
you've done wrong. "I never said that!"
"The hell you didn't!" Chris pushed Leo back by his shoulders, feeling
a tingle when his hands came in contact with Leo's skin... so he let
his hands linger on Leo's chest for a while. "Mmmm... I mean..." He
took his hands away. "You said your vows meant more to you than mine
did to me... you fucking sexy prick!"
"You were telling me to sleep with Wyatt!" Leo backed up, not sure why
Chris was acting so contradictory. "You don't think I meant that do
you?"
"Yes, I do actually!" Chris answered.
"Are you serious?" Leo shook his head, and crossed his arms over his
chest. "I was just trying to get you to see it wouldn't help if I slept
with him. He- he's too far, don't you see?"
"Why are you so stubborn... god forbid you be open to something... I
swear... I have to hit you with a bat over the head every time I
suggest we watch a new TV show!" Chris moved away from Leo, feeling the
urge to be near him... kiss him... suck him.
"Now you're criticizing TV? Chris, take a moment. This isn't how you
want to act." Leo stayed where he was, not sure how to handle Chris.
Chris was completely aware of how he sounded but he couldn't do much to
change it. His weird behavior was a combination of his mounting arousal
and desire for Leo and his anger from the night before. "Whatever, Leo."
Leo's hand dropped down to his sides. "What? I was trying to reassure
you. And I'm the bad one! Of course, it all makes sense now! How could
I have been so blind?" Leo lightly smacked his palm against his
forehead. "Silly me, I tried to let you know what was most important to
me. How could I have been so stupid?" Leo glared at Chris.
"Don't be a smart ass... I'm not an idiot and don't deserve to be
treated like one." Chris said and closed his eyes to cool down. "I'm
sorry I interrupted your shower... go finish it... but when you're
done, I won't be here." He growled and orbed upstairs to Wyatt and the
babies.
"Fan-fucking-tastic." Leo ran a hand through his hair, wishing that
drinking in the morning were socially acceptable. "Fuck that." Leo
orbed after Chris.
"I'm getting out of here..." Chris said as soon as he orbed into
Phoebe's room. "Help me get the baby stuff together."
"Chris come on... what are you doing?" Wyatt questioned.
"Just help me." Chris shot back.
"Freeze." Leo said calmly as his two sons were exiting the room. "Get
back in here, now!" The elder was tired of trying to play to everyone's
emotions.
Wyatt turned back with his head bowed and walked back onto the room but
Chris did no such thing... muttering a semi-clear "fuck you" under his
breath.
Leo's anger came to the forefront as Chris ignored him. "Christopher
Halliwell get your ass back in here now!" Leo yelled, ten seconds away
from threatening the boy.
Chris was momentarily stunned by the harshness in Leo's tone, not just
the volume... but something in him made him keep walking. He'd always
been the good kid... never got in trouble... always listened... came
back from the future to save Wyatt... given Leo a family... so he was
treading uncharted territory by not obeying.
Leo orbed to the hallway, but did not go after Chris any further. "You
walk out now, and you'll sleep on that couch indefinitely. And don't
think you'll be able to convince me otherwise, because someone else
will be taking care of matters."
Chris's buttons were pushed... some of the bigger ones... he not only
loved Leo but he was insanely attracted to him so he adored sex with
his husband... not having that seemed like too big of a loss. He
stopped walking but didn't turn around.
"Now, come back in here and talk with me and your damn brother." Leo
went back inside the room, not watching whether or not if Chris
followed. Leo closed his eyes briefly, relieved that at least one of
his sons was listening to him.
Chris silently turned back and walked back into Phoebe's room, not
uttering a single sound... not even looking in Leo's direction.
"Thank you." Leo looked between his two sons. " We're going to calmly,"
He looked pointedly at Wyatt. "And honestly," A look at Chris. "Talk
about what happened. Got it?"
Chris still gave no sign of a response but Wyatt nodded his answer to
Leo.
"Good." Leo crossed his arms over his chest. "Wyatt, you want me. I'm
married to Chris though. Chris, you want your family back together so
bad you'll put up with anything. And I want us to be a family again
too. If I don't go along with this, then I hurt both of you. If I do,
then it just makes the situation even weirder. Questions?"
Wyatt was about to say something but didn't... he just looked at Chris
who still appeared to be furious. "Is he breathing, daddy?"
"Yes." Leo said, ignoring Wyatt's term for him. "He is. And I'm sure
he's about to blow that he got called out."
Chris took a deep breath and let it out, his biggest action yet. He
blinked a few times and focused on a random point on the wall.
"Chris." Leo watched his husband. "Say something. I don't want another
fight to start."
"Then don't start one." Chris said to the wall.
"All I'm trying to do is work out this- this problem. But you're not
talking." Leo sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"What do you want me to say? Everything I say and even what I don't say
pisses you off." Chris said, finally turning his gaze to Leo.
"I'm not pissed. I'm frustrated, there's a difference." Leo sat down on
the bed, and put his head in his hands, trying to think of something
that would rectify the situation.
Wyatt cautiously spoke up. "Are you sure you guys want me here for
this?"
"You're a part of this." Leo looked up at Wyatt. "We want you here,
remember?"
Wyatt would never admit it but it made him feel good to hear he was a
part of it. "All right."
"So what do you want, Leo?" Chris asked.
"I just want for us to be happy." Leo said quietly, still thinking. "I
don't know what to do."
"Well then figure it out... because you're obviously complaining about
how you get tossed around trying to play to what someone else wants...
so don't... just grow some testicles, take charge and tell us what to
do!"
"Chris!" Wyatt spoke out, trying to calm the man.
"You want me to just order you what to do? This is our lives, not some
game we play in bed!" Leo laid back on the bed, trying to keep his
anger in check.
"Okay too much information guys." Wyatt said, waving his hands in the
air. "Look you both need to cool down... anytime people love each other
and need each other as much as you two do, emotions tend to run high
and get the best of you... so don't let 'em."
"Hey, this isn't something simple. It's going to affect every aspect of
our life. We can be emotional if we want, we don't hide our feelings
like you." Leo said, not caring if he hurt his eldest son.
"That was unnecessary, Leo... you don't need to hurt him to get your
point across, you prick!" Chris shot at his husband.
"Okay stop!" Wyatt shouted. "We're not getting anywhere!"
"No shit." Leo said as he stared up at the ceiling. "So our options
are: Leave each other the hell alone, and lose contact with the baby.
Or, the other one."
"Ew you'd be the baby's step mother...." Wyatt said and looked at
Chris... hoping the realization would amuse his brother and lighten
things up.
"You know what's worse?" Chris started with a smirk. "If you think
about it, I'm your step mother!"
