Alistair's Story Chapter 4 Chapter 3 At that he let go and put his hand on my neck pulling me into the car and giving me another kiss. This time it was longer. He pulled away gently biting my lower lip until my lip slid out of his mouth. "See you later Big Al." I leaned back out of the car and walked back to my truck. I waved as he slowly passed me going to his home. I got into my truck and looked at the number on the piece of paper he had given me. It was his home and cell number and at the bottom he had written, `I will be thinking about you.' I smiled and drove home. Chapter 4 As I was driving home I remembered that I had a party to go to tonight at Johns. Ahhhhh, I completely forgot. Well I'm halfway home, I thought to my self, I mine as well go home get a shower and get something clean to dress in. I pulled out my cell phone and found Johns name in my list and hit the call button. One ring, two rings, three ri. In the middle of the third ring I herd him pick up and say, "Hey man what's up." "Nothin' much," I replied. "So what time does the party start?" "Whenever you want to come over you can, most of the people will start arriving here about 8 or 9 o'clock." He told me. "Well I probably will be there around 8:30 to 9, cause I am on my home right now." I told him. "That sucks," He replied. "You're going to put on tons of miles that way." "It's ok. I don't mind anyways I will see you then." I said. "Ok, catch you later." He told me in parting. "Later." I told him and then hung up. Wow, I thought to myself. This will be one of the first parties that I will be going to with people my age. I wonder what to expect or actually, as wired as this sounds, how to act. The reason behind this is because I usually keep to myself and don't socialize a lot out of school. Anyways it will be a learning experience. I finally got home and washed up and went to go pick out something to wear. I went through 3 different pants and who knows how many shirts. Sorry, I want to look good. `God," I thought to my self. "I am acting like I am trying to impress someone." I finally chose a brown and tan striped semi casual shirt that went well with what else I was wearing. Got down to the bathroom and put some cologne on and overly brushed my teeth. Hey you never know who you are going to meet. I hoped in my truck and pulled the directions that John had given me and started my long ass drive back to Sac Town. I got there about 9 o'clock and there were tons of cars out of his place already. Music was playing and there were some guys outside. I got kinda nervous wondering what I was expected to do since I had never been to a party like this. I walked into the house and people were everywhere. I asked where the drinks were and started heading there when I was stopped and a bottle of Guinness was put into my hand by a smoking hot guy. "Hey, I haven't seen you before, what's your name." He asked me kinda bluntly. "Alistair," I replied to him. "I'm Matt. The way you look right now it appears that you haven't been to one of Johns parties before." He told me. "Nope, that obvious?" I asked him. "You just looked kinda lost. Here I will take you to John. We walked over to where John was and Matt got his attention. "Hey John," Matt said. "Your buddy's here." John turned around and said, "Hey chief, glad you could make it." At that point another smoking hot guy came right up to John and put his arms around him and said, "Hey babe, I'll be outside for a bit, K." Then he gave him a quick kiss and walked away. My jaw was on the floor. No fucking way was John gay. But that guy came up put his arms around him kissed him and called him babe. That's when John looked back to me and saw the shocked look on my face. He threw an arm around me and said, "We need to talk." He led me into an empty bedroom, shut the door, let go to me and walked to the other side of the room. I hadn't said a word at this point. John put both of his hands on the top of his head, sighed and drew his hands across the top of his head and down till they were resting on his neck. He dropped his hands, turned around to me and said, "Look Alistair, I'm sorry about that. I didn't want you to find out like that. I, I was going to tell you later tonight. Look, the guy you just saw hanging off of me is my boyfriend Jarred. The party you came to is a Gay party. If you noticed there are no girls here. That's because everyone here is gay. I asked you to come because I got the `vibe' from you. I should have told you before I invited you. I'm sorry." At this point I was speechless; I had no clue what to say. Looking a bit dejected John said, "Look, you can leave if you want. I'll make sure that no one bothers you." That first bit was just catching up to me and I said, "You're gay?" "Yea, I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." He said. I started to get mad and started yelling, "You're fucking gay and you didn't tell me before." "I'm sorry I wa." He started to say. "It would have made it a lot easier if you told me you were gay," I yelled back at him. He for some reason got mad at that comment and said, "What, so you can be like all the other homophobic people and ruin my life for me? I butted in and started to say, "Tha." He yelled, "NO, Let me finish what I was fucking going to say. Jesus Christ! All I try to do is fucking live my life and not bother other people but others like to think that it is their duty in life to harass people for who they are and make life very hard for them. I mean, do you actually think that I would choose this lifestyle? Why would I fucking choose a life that would be extremely difficult? It's fucking people like you who make life difficult. The only reason I invited you is because I got a vibe from you and at least I thought you would be gay tolerant at best. Well I guess I was wrong." After he finished his tirade I yelled back, "What, you think that I am homophobic? Well you fucking don't know shit from shit." "No, you are acting like every other homophobic fucker. You say your not when you really are. I mean, fuck, no one in their right mind would really say that they were homophobic at a gay party when you knew you were the only one there. You would get your ass beat. And if you continue it looks like what is going to happen." He yelled at me. "What?" I asked in an exasperated voice. "Why the fuck would I be homophobic? I would the biggest fucking hypocrite in the world." He just stared at me with a stone cold glare and after a pause for a couple seconds I yelled back in a flustered voice, "Jesus Christ, I can't believe that you are so bull headed. I'm fucking gay, OK. So calm the fuck down." Right after I said that I wanted to take the words back but the bomb was dropped and nothing could change that now. "Fucking A," he said. "I can't fucking believe it. You are just trying to worm your way out of a situation by saying your gay. To top that, you are saying it at a gay party in front of a gay person. Are you fucking retarded?" "What do you want me to prove it to you, huh? How's this for you. Today before I came I met someone named Eli. He is in my theatre class and he if fucking gay and he helped me out a lot. I was having problems and he chased me down and comforted me. After that he hugged me and then kissed me before I left." I told him loudly. "Oh, that's a believable story. Oh yea I'm going to believe that one." He said sarcastically. "It's fucking true. Here," I said handing him the piece of paper that Eli gave me. He unfolded it and read it and then said, "You expect me to believe this when it has no name on it. It could be anyone." "Really now," I said. "Call the cell number and see who you get and then you can ask him." He gave me a look that could kill and then pulled out his cell phone and dialed Eli's number. He put the cell to his ear and waited for Eli to answer. I guess Eli did answer because I heard John say, "Yea, hey, this is John Collins.......No you don't, that I know of..........Your names Eli right?...............Any ways do you know someone named Alistair?.....................No, he's fine. He is right here with me, look I'm having a party right now and was wondering if you want to come over. I have a couple of questions I want to ask you.....No....Yes, here's Alistair. I took the phone from John and said, "Hey Eli it's me." "What's going on, I'm confused." Eli said. "I'm at this party and I got into an argument with John and he doesn't believe what I am telling him and so I told him to call you and ask." I told him. "About what?" He asked me. "About this afternoon. Look, it would be easier if you came over, can you?" I asked. "Yea where does he live?" He said. "Here, let me give the phone back to John and he will tell you since I still don't have the directions memorized." I told him. I handed the phone back to John and he proceeded to tell Eli where he lived and then he said by and hung up. "Well he is going to be here in a few minutes. It just so happens that he only lives a few blocks away so he said he would be here in like 2 minutes." He said. "Meanwhile drink your beer and if you could, stay in here and I will go out and bring him in here when he gets here. OK." "Fine," I told him. John left the room and left me sitting there. I took a big swig of the Guinness thinking to my self what had just happened. After two or three minutes John came back into the room with Eli in tow. Even with what happened I couldn't help but look at Eli and smile at him. I set my beer down and Eli came right up to me and said, "What's going on Big Al?" "Oh, we just got into an argument about something's and John doesn't believe me when I was trying to prove a point and told him about this afternoon." I told him. "Could you please just tell him what happened so he will believe me and we can end this stupid argument." "OK," he said slowly. He turned around so that he was still standing next to me but so he was facing John. Eli started telling the story of what happened earlier this day. "I met Alistair this afternoon in theatre class and after class we started talking and walking to our cars. When we got to his truck he gave me a ride to my car and before I got out I shook his hand and said something like, `I knew it.' He just gave me a blank stare with scared eyes. I got out and drove away and then came back around because by the time that I had driven off he was still sitting there staring straight ahead. I parked behind him and went over to the passenger side and got in and he didn't even notice me until I said something. He looked over at me with wide eyes and freaked out and got out of the truck and ran. So I ran after him and cornered him in an alcove. I then asked him why he freaked out and told him that I just wanted to talk to him. He didn't want to at first but he eventually told me and started crying when he was telling me." I interrupted him and said, "Tell him everything, OK." Eli looked at me and said, "OK." Then he continued with the story. "When he started crying I took him in my arms and started comforting him while we were sitting on the bench. After he was done telling the story we just sat there with him in my arms until it started getting dark. We walked back to our cars and I gave him a kiss, got in my car, gave him another kiss, then I gave him my numbers." John said, "Look, Alistair I'm sorry that I didn't believe you. Can we just end the argument? It's pointless." "Yea, sorry I freaked out on you." I told him. "Eli, I'm really sorry that I had to pull you into it and you had to explain you self. If you want to stay you can." John said to Eli. "I'll stay for a bit." Eli said to John. "Thanks," I said to Eli. "Now I won't be alone at this party. I really didn't want to get hit on, or have guys try to pick me up." "Huh?" Eli questioned. "Uhhh, sorry I didn't tell you but this is a gay only party. It's kinda why the argument started." I told him. By this point John had left the room to leave us alone and so he could get back to tending his party. Eli and I went out and re-joined the party started drinking just like everyone else. After we had both gotten through our first shot and were starting on our second round Matt came up to us and said, "Who is this cutie, I thought I was going to get you tonight." "Sorry," I told him. "This is Eli Yazdani." "Hey, how's it going Eli, my name's Matt." He said to Eli. "So you two together?" "Not exactly." "Kinda." Eli and I said together. We both looked at each other and Eli shrugged his shoulders and gave me the `woops, but why not' look. "Uhh huhh." Matt said. "We met earlier today." We said in unison. Once again Matt said, "Uhh huhh." "No, seriously, we did meet earlier today. We met in our theatre class." I told Matt. Matt told us, "Well you guys are cute together." At that comment I blushed and I'm pretty sure Eli did too because of Matt's next comment. "Ahhhh, how cute." And this of course made us blush even more to which Matt just started laughing at. "Seriously, if you guys are not together you should get together." Matt told us. I honestly didn't know what to say to that because things at this point were moving to fast for my taste. First the hug in the park then the two kisses and now admitting that I am gay to John and going to a gay party. I needed to slow things down a bit. "Matt, could you excuse us for a second." I asked Matt. "OK guys, see you in a bit." Matt told us as disappeared into the crowd. I turned to Eli and said, "Can we go for a walk. I want to talk." "OK," Eli said. We walked out of John's house and down the street in silence for a few moments, each thinking our own thoughts. After a couple of blocks we found a bench that we could sit on. We both sat down and I turned to face Eli and said, "I don't know how to put this without offending you but right now everything is happening in a jumble. I mean, I meet you and the next thing I know you are comforting me and then you are kissing me. Later, here I am at a gay party and I am admitting to others that I am gay. I don't know but everything is happening to fast for my taste." "Hey guy, it's OK. I understand how you feel, my first relationship happened so fast that we didn't really get to know each other before we were, you know, doing it." Eli told me. "I was just kind of pushing today. I mean, I really do like you and we seem to get along really well but I just, I guess, pushed things really fast. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable." "It's OK," I said. "It's just that with what happened with me I kinda want to get to know the person before everything progresses to the next level. No offence or anything but from what I know we get along really well but we don't know each other really well yet and I, at least, would like that to happen." "Like I said, I understand." He told me that and remarkably just changed the subject by saying, "What are you doing tomorrow?" "Nothing much, why?" I asked him wondering where this line of questioning was going to lead. Bluntly he just asked, "Do you want to stay the whole day with me. We could do tones of stuff and get to know each other and then go out for Dinner. How's that sound?" There was nothing I could do but start laughing at his change of topic and blunt question. "What," he asked. "Nothing," I replied. "It's just that we were talking about one thing and then it's like hey you want to go on a date tomorrow. I just found it funny. And to answer your question yes, I would love to." At my last statement Eli jumped up onto the bench and stuck his arm up in the air and yelled, "Wooo Hoooo." Once again I started laughing at his antics and told him as I was pulling him down, "Shhhh, quiet down your going to wake the neighborhood." Instead of just pulling him down off the bench, which was my plan, he hopped down and sat in my lap and just leaned back into me. At that I wrapped my arms around him and after awhile he said, "This is nice, hope this is not going to fast." "Nope," was my simple reply. After a bit of just sitting there enjoying each other I said, "Come on, let's get back to the party." Eli got up off of me and then grabbed my hand and pulled me up but after I was up he just kept holding my hand and then he said as he started walking, "Come on, let's go."
