Jeremy sat up in bed, stretching as he finally gave up at trying to get back to sleep. The pre-dawn light filtered through the window as he gathered his jogging shorts and laced up his shoes. It was a nightmare that had woke him ahead of the alarm. He seldom remembered his dreams, and this one was no exception. He awoke in a sweat, with a gripping feeling of blind terror. After catching his breath he tried, unsuccessfully, to calm back down, and get that last hour of sleep. He rounded the corner at the end of the street to jog into the park, Jeremy noticed another runner. At five in the morning, he wasn't used to seeing other people about. Ignoring the other runner, he started to put his thoughts in order for the day. Since arriving at University a week ago his days have proved extremely busy with classes through the morning, working at the information desk in the library in the afternoon, and then bussing tables in the evening to keep himself fed. His roommate didn't show up, and he had been waiting all week to see if there would be a replacement. He didn't want to get his hopes up yet, but it would be great to have a room to himself this semester. Jeremy had to work hard to raise tuition and money support himself through school, but the sacrifice was worth it. He knew that the other guys in his dorm got to have a lot more fun than he did, but he wasn't willing to let himself slip, even a little. He wasn't wealthy like them, and he knew that it would be a one-way trip back to his home-town and no sort of life for which he was willing to settle. "Hey," snapped out of his thoughts and a bit indignant at the interruption, Jeremy turned his head while jogging to see that the other early-morning runner had change routes and had caught up with him. "Hi," the new comer said again, "I'm Nate, are you training up for crew team too?" Nate was about six feet tall, and well build if somewhat thin. Jeremy liked the look of him, and was even more flattered because this was the first person to attempt to start a conversation with him since he got there. He thought coming to college would be different, but he was shy, and never spent any time around the common areas in the dorm. Jeremy thought it was an odd assumption to make, he hadn't even thought about joining a sports team on campus, he had too much on his plate already. "No, I just don't have any other time to run, so I have to keep an early schedule." "Well would you like to? Try out for the team I mean. Tryouts start on Monday, we only workout in the early mornings; five to eight, six days a week," his tone sounded very proud, as if the rigorous schedule were a badge of honor. "I guess you wouldn't even have to worry about getting used to the early hours." Jeremy had to admit, rowing always seems like a great sport. He knew he couldn't do it, but it was cool that this guy was asking. "Thanks, but I can't this term." Jeremy looked at his watch, fifteen seconds to a sprint. He glanced side long at Nate. "I have a hill sprint coming up, care to join me?" "How long?" "Two minutes out, followed by five of easy jogging," Jeremy glanced at his watch again, "in five, four, three^Å" "You're on!" The two stepped it up. Jeremy figured the guy would be a decent runner, but had doubted he could keep up the pace. He was pleasantly surprised when after a few seconds he saw Nate catch up to his pace out of the corner of his eye. They matched each other through the full two minutes and as they crested the hill they had been running up Jeremy said, "Not bad." Grinning, Nate said through gasps, "Not bad? You about killed me!" Still panting to catch his breath as they ran easy he continued, "How long have you bee running?" "Since freshman year of high School. When it became obvious that I was never going to be a big guy, I figured I had better be a fast one. It has sort of been my thing ever since." Nate nodded as their cool-down brought them back in the direction of the dorms. "I'm on the fourth floor of West, what about you?" "I'm on the third floor," replied Jeremy. "Really? I haven't seen you around at all. Will you join me for breakfast this morning?" "Sure, I'll just grab a shower and meet you in the cafeteria?" "Perfect, and I can try to convince you to try out for the team." They both head up to their rooms to get ready for the day. Jeremy picked up his shower kit, and towel and headed down the hall to the showers. He stepped into the water and let the shower massage his neck and shoulders. He found himself thinking about Nate, his close cropped dark-hair, and blue eyes, which he only noticed after their run when they were finally facing each other rather than jogging side-by-side. He wondered what it would be like to be on a rowing team with him. To be part of a tightly knit group, and to look forward to working out, every day, with this beautiful guy. He quickly realized that his thoughts were causing a stir in his crotch and turned to face the spray just in case there were any other early risers on the floor. He hadn't met any yet, but he didn't want to be known as the guy with wood in the shower. He quickly toweled off and returned to his room to get ready for the day. He caught a glance at himself in the full length mirror in the closet and smiled. He was about 5'10", and slightly built. He wished, sometimes, be brawnier, but was happy with his slender frame, and well formed muscles. He glanced at the clock and decided there was time for a quick wank before he met Nate. He walked over to his bed, while his erection returned in three heartbeats. He pulled out one of the magazines he kept under his mattress and flipped to his favorite model, who now reminded him of his new friend, Nate. He stroked himself slowly at first, but was so horny that he laid back and came on his stomach in less than five minutes. Wiping away his spunk with his running shorts he tossed them in the hamper and quickly dressed and went down to meet Nate. To be continued. Thank you for reading!
