Justin's Rock

Chapter 21

"Yeah, babe?"

The boys were driving back to campus from Higgins on the last day of spring break.

"That picture of Brody you have in our room . . ."

"Uh huh."

"I understand the tight relationship you and Brody have, but wouldn't it be nice to have a picture of Brody and Dave together?"

"Excellent idea, man!  We'll have to ask them for one.  I know Dave's got a great camera and likes to take pictures.  Maybe they can use his tripod and pose for us.  Or we could take some snaps the next time we're there."

Later, when they'd unloaded their gear in the room, Justin took his car to the freshman lot, insisting there was no need for Bailey to make the trek with him.  The elevator was in use when he got back to Rhodes Hall, so he took the stairs.  Two at a time.  He was puffing slightly when he got to the room.

"I knew it!  You've gotten soft since we haven't been working out regularly."

"Jeez, it's only been a little over a week."

"Nevertheless, we're up early tomorrow, and I'm gonna work your ass off."

"Pushy bastard!"

Bailey put his arms around Justin.  "Just want you in the best possible shape."  He fondled Justin's butt with both hands.

"Aww, I thought you loved me for my mind."

Bailey grinned.  "Nope.  I just love that sexy body.  And I want to keep it that way."

After a kiss, Justin said, "You were talking about Brody's picture."

Come here."

He sat at his pc and booted it up.  Then he clicked on My Pictures, clicked again, and the screen was filled with a picture of Brody.  Naked except for dogtags and his dress white hat.  Erect.

Bailey, who'd pulled his chair over next to Justin's said, "My god, Jus, how did you get that?"

"He lost a bet."

"About what?"

He bet me in August of 05 that Dave was straight.  He lost, obviously.  That's his forfeit."

"Poor guy, he looks so embarrassed."

"I never noticed that.  I always just thought it was a hot picture.  But you're right.  He does look embarrassed."

"Who took the picture, you?"

"I wish!  No, it was Dave."

"Dave must have loved that!"

"Yeah, I imagine he did.  But you know what's funny?"

"Well, my gaydar was right.  Brody's was wrong.  I've always said my gaydar was never wrong."

Brody told me last fall after the first time he met you he thought you were gay."

"Oh, yeah.  You guys told me that when we were there that time."

"I guess I'm lucky there wasn't a bet this time."  He slung an arm around Bailey and licked his ear.  "And I'm so glad I was wrong about that."

Bailey leaned over and gave Justin an absent-minded kiss.  "I'm glad, too.  But I never thought I was gay.  Would never have guessed anybody would take me for gay."

"Well, sometimes we get vibes we can't explain, babe."

"Still, it's weird."

"I think you can relax.  I was living with you, and I never had a clue you were gay.  I was all twisted up inside because I realized I was having serious feelings for you and thought there was no hope, that you were Mr. Straight Arrow."

Bailey chuckled.  "We were both pretty much messed up, weren't we?"

Justin turned and began rubbing his palms over Bailey's shirt-covered nipples.  "Yeah, but it all worked out okay, didn't it, stud?"

"Oh, yeah!" Bailey purred.

A moment or two later, Justin said, "Bailey?"

Do you think this picture of Brody is hot?"  He gestured toward the pc screen.

"Hot?  I dunno.  Not really.  I can see he's got a nice body and he's a great-looking guy.  But I guess I'm still mostly straight.  I haven't spent a lifetime perving on guys.  The only person I lust for is you."

"Are you just sayin' that, Bail?"

"Nope."  Bailey stood, pulled Justin up, and hugged him.

"Am I gonna have to keep an eye on you around the women, then?"

Bailey chuckled.  "I won't guarantee not to get a hardon if I see a hot woman, Justin.  But I promise you're the only person I have any interest in sleeping with."

"Do we have time for a quickie before we go get something to eat?"

"Let's get this stuff put away, then eat.  That'll leave us all evening to fool around."

"I like the sound of that!"

A couple of days later as Justin was at his computer working on a class assignment there was a knock at the door.

"It's open," he called, thinking it would be one of his dorm friends.  When he swiveled around to see who it was, he was startled.  There stood Bailey.  Or a slightly smaller version of him.  The man standing there was more Justin's height, a couple of inches shorter than Bailey and less muscular.  Otherwise, he was a dead ringer for Justin's roommate.

Justin got up and extended his hand.  "Ohmygod, you've got to be Bradley!  I'm Justin Quinn, Bailey's roommate.  What are you doing here, I mean, uh . . ."

Justin was looking at the same slow smile.  "Hi, Justin.  Glad to meet you. Yeah, I'm Brad.  Bailey's told me a lot about you."

"Not all bad, I hope."

"You'd probably be embarrassed.  My brother's not the type to go on and on, but he has about you.  Speaking of him, I see he isn't here.  When do you expect him back?"

"Any minute.
He's at the library.  We were planning to go get something to eat when he gets back.  Why don't you sit in his chair there while you're waiting?"

Just then the door opened.

"Honey, I'm . . .  Brad!"

The brothers hugged and slapped each other on the back, obviously happy to see each other.

"They must have let you out of your cell at med school.  What are you doing here?"

"Yeah, I'm stealing time away from the grind.  But I had to come and see how you were after I heard from the folks."

"Uh, guys," Justin said, "would you like me to get lost?"

Bailey looked at Brad, who smiled and said, "Not at all.  Let me take you both to dinner.  Though it looks as if my baby brother is getting plenty to eat."

"Hey, runt," Bailey said, grinning, "it's all muscle."

"That's Dr. Runt to you!  Now, have you got a TGI Fridays or an Applebee's in this town?"

They wound up at the Outback, since Brad had offered to pay and Bailey craved a steak.

"You are watching your cholesterol, I hope," Brad said to Bailey.

"Man," Justin said, smiling at Bradley, "he's super conscious of eating healthy.  He makes me eat right and he works my butt off at the gym."

"Yeah, brother.  I'm just having steak to make a dent in your wallet.  Now, do you want to tell us what brings you way out here to the boonies?"

Brad's face became serious.  "Mom and Dad told me about you.  About you and Justin.  And what they'd done."

Bailey's eyes searched his brother's face.  "Yeah?"

Yes.  And I had to come to let you know I think that sucks bigtime.  To tell you that I love you.  And," he turned and winked at Justin, "to meet the lucky guy."

Justin, who'd sensed Bailey's tension ever since he'd come into their room to find Brad there, saw his boyfriend relax.

"I was guessing you'd react that way, but I'm sure glad to hear you say it."

"I can't believe the folks" Brad exclaimed.  "Did they really say they didn't want to see you any more?"

"They didn't exactly say never to darken their doorstep again, but that's about what they meant."

"But they haven't cut off your money, have they?"

"No.  I think they're both embarrassed to have a gay son.  It's not good for dad's practice or mom's business, they seem to think.  But a bum for a son or one who did manual labor would be even more of an embarrassment.  So the money keeps coming into the account.  At least for now."  He clenched a fist and then looked down at his plate.  "They just don't want me around."

"They offered to send me to a shrink to `cure' me of my problem."

"Oh, god!  That's so stupid!  Don't they know that homosexuality isn't a psychological condition?"

"I tried to tell them, but they wouldn't listen."

Justin sat there feeling worse and worse.  Bailey had told him about his parents' reaction to learning their younger son was gay, but he'd never fully realized how hurt Bailey must be.

"Well, baby brother, you know I don't have much time off.  But I'll try to get out to Strongsville soon.  Maybe I can work on them.  Meanwhile, if they give you any more grief, you let me know.  I seem to be in good standing with them, and I'll try to use that to get them to see reason.  To educate them if I can."

Bailey put his hand on Brad's.  "That means a lot, bro."

Justin wondered if Bailey would have touched Brad in that way six months earlier and decided that he probably would have.  He'd been comfortable with himself from the time Justin first met him.  He couldn't help wondering how the senior Stones could have had two such great sons.

The conversation turned to lighter things as they finished their supper, Brad having lots of questions for Justin.  It wasn't as if he were being put under the microscope, Justin thought.  Brad seemed to be genuinely interested in getting to know his brother's new boyfriend, just as he would have if Bailey had a new girlfriend.

As he watched the brothers, Justin could tell the two had a real bond.  Sometimes he'd catch one watching the other intently.  And there was the exchange of looks that said volumes at times, the kind of non-verbal communication that passes between siblings or lovers.  It was impossible not to like Brad.  He was too much like Bailey for Justin to have anything but the warmest of feelings for him.

When Brad returned them to the dormitory, they invited him to come up to the room.

"No, guys, I've got to get back to Cleveland and hit the books.  I just wanted to let Bailey, well, both of you, really, know that I'm with you."

He turned to Justin and held his arms open.  "Welcome to the family, Justin, such as it is.  But just remember something."

Stepping into Brad's embrace Justin said, "Yeah?  What?"

"I'm going to be looking into procedures that involve a rusty scalpel and your balls if you ever hurt my brother."

Justin grinned and gave Bradley a kiss on the cheek.  "If I ever hurt him, I'd deserve it."

The farewell hug between Bailey and Bradley lasted a little longer and involved much back pounding and some tears.

Then he was gone.

It was like picking at a scab.  Justin had no reason to think Bailey wasn't honest when he said he loved him.  His smile when he looked at Justin seemed to reaffirm that.  Sometimes Justin's heart actually fluttered when Bailey smiled at him, often with a reaching out, a touch to the face.  It seemed too good to be true.  The last thing he wanted was to mess up what he and Bailey shared.

But there was something Bailey didn't know about.  And what would happen if he learned about it from someone else?  Justin had been waiting for months for the other shoe to drop, for a copy of that DVD to show up.  For Todd to do his worst.  It could mean the end of everything. Certainly nothing good and lasting could grow until Justin was sure.

Thus it was that one balmy evening when they'd returned from the Commons almost giddy with spring, with their love for each other, with the unlimited world that lay ahead of them that Justin dug out the DVD.

Bailey's smile made him melt.

"Yeah, Jus?"

Uh, I'm gonna take a walk.  While I'm gone, I want you to watch this DVD."

"What is it?"

"You'll see.  But it isn't what it seems to be.  Promise me you'll keep an open mind and let me explain."

Bailey chuckled.  "You're being cryptic, Quinn.  What's this all about?"

"I don't want to be here while you watch this.  But I'll be back in about an hour, and we can talk then, okay?"

Bailey shook his head.  "Sure, if that's what you want."

"That's what I want."

Justin put on his sandals.  It was actually mild enough outside to wear them.  The weather seemed to assure them that winter had finally left northern Ohio and that summer was a sure thing. All they had to do was get through finals.

Justin leaned over and gave Bailey a gentle kiss.

"I don't know what this is all about, babe," Bailey said, "but I'll watch the mystery dvd.  And I love you."

"Back in a while."

Justin walked.  Afterward he couldn't have told anyone where.  He wandered all over the campus.  He felt a part of whatever it was Colby State stood for.  It wasn't an old, venerable institution, and its architecture, he was coming to understand, was utilitarian at best.  But he loved being there, loved being a university student, loved being alive, loved being a part of the Bailey/Justin couple.

Yet at this very moment, he was testing the strength of his partnership with Bailey who could watch the dvd and decide he wanted nothing further to do with the Justin who, accurately or not, was portrayed as a whiny, pleading, needy bottom slut, someone who wanted his ass fingered or fucked more than anything.

After having seen the dvd, would Bailey listen as Justin tried to explain how Todd had tricked him, how Todd had edited the scenes recorded that night to make such a false, misleading video?  Or would he be too sickened or angry to let Justin say anything in his own defense?

When he'd first watched the dvd, Justin had feared that Todd might be correct in his assessment.  After months of counseling with Dr. Levi, however, Justin was sure that Todd's accusation was simply wrong.  As Dr. L. had pointed out, it wasn't a bad thing if Justin was, in fact, a dedicated bottom.  Nothing wrong with that at all.  Nothing to feel ashamed of.  But, though Justin had been coached to say what he said on the vid, he had in fact willingly said it.  He did love being fingered, loved taking a hard shaft even more.  But as the counselor had suggested, as Bailey had helped him understand, he responded equally enthusiastically to having his cock encased in a hot bottom.

The truth of it was, he loved it either way.  And being totally in love with the other guy involved made it infinitely better.  Now, if only Bailey wouldn't be repulsed by what he was seeing on the video.

He took the elevator, stepped off the car into the third floor hallway, and walked slowly to his room.  He tapped on the door.

"It's open."

"It's me, Bailey.  Can I come in?"

The door was yanked open.  "Of course you can come in.   You don't need to knock.  You live here, remember?"

"Yeah, but "  He didn't get to say any more because he was grabbed, the breath forced out of him.

Are you okay, Jus?"

Grinning nervously, he said, "That depends on you."

"I'm not pissed off at you, if that's what you're worried about."

Justin relaxed, letting Bailey bear his weight.  He rested his head on Bailey's shoulder, nuzzling his neck.  "I was afraid it would make you sick."

"I've got a lot of emotions inside me right now, babe, but I'm not repulsed by you."

Nuzzling Bailey's neck again, Justin said, "Can we sit down?"

"I want a beer.  How about you?"

Yeah.  Just don't give me a second one, okay?"

They sat on their beds, facing each other, occasionally taking a swig of beer.

"Jus, I've got to assume that guy you were hanging with last summer had something to do with the DVD.  What's his name, Todd?"

"Yeah, his name's Todd, and he is responsible for the vid.  But, see, the thing is, I didn't know there were cameras in that room."

"Where were you?"

"In his Uncle Tom's bedroom."

Oh.  Must be a kinky bastard.  That's Lynch's partner, isn't it?"

"And that's why you didn't want to go to Brody and Dave's if they were gonna be there?"

Do you think either of them had anything to do with the vid?"

"I don't know.  But I've always suspected they knew what Todd had in mind."

"What did Todd do, actually?"

Justin took a deep breath.  "It's tough to talk about this with you, Bail."

"I promise I won't be mad at you.  Just tell me so I'll know why I'm gonna kill Todd Nielsen."

"Well, we had Tom's apartment for the whole night.  He was upstairs in Adrian's penthouse.  Todd said it would be fun to use Tom's place.  It's pretty upscale, for one thing.  Besides, we could make as much noise as we wanted without worrying about Mom hearing it like we did when we were at my house."

"I see."  Bailey took a swallow of beer.  "So you and Nielsen were gonna have a wild night of sex."

"You knew about Todd all along.  I did tell you about him and how we'd fooled around this summer."

"Yeah, but I didn't have to see it.  I suppose he's a great-looking guy.  Sex on wheels, and all that."

So you're feeling jealous?"

"Jus, like I said, I'm full of emotions right now.  Fuckin' right I'm jealous.  And I want to kill Todd for making that video.  But tell me the rest of the story.  I promise I won't interrupt."

"Okay.  We were having a great night of sex.  Matter of fact, I spent as much time doing him as he did doing me.  He just edited all that part out.  And the thing about me saying I was a slut and pleading with him to fuck me?"

It was all kind of a game.  He was coaching me to say those things.  I just went along for the fun of it.  I didn't know I was on camera.  We were just having fun fooling around, you know?"

Through clenched teeth Bailey said, "Yes, I suppose so."

Justin had the impression that none of this was going well.  He took a swallow of his beer for dutch courage and continued.  "Well, Todd gave me the DVD just before he left Higgins to go to Kenyon for soccer camp.  And he told me he thought that it would show me the true me, that he was sure I really was a cock-hungry slut and that I'd be better off if I admitted to myself my true nature."

"Christ, Justin!"  Bailey got himself another beer.  "You didn't believe him at first, right?  You just shrugged it off?"

"Yeah, that's what I tried to do."

"But then after the, uh, party at Blake's you got to thinking about the dvd and what Todd had said."

So it was bad news either way.  Either you were raped, or your actions that night proved Todd was right, or so you thought?"

Bailey stood up and began to pace around in the small room.  "I'm gonna kill that fuckin' Todd.  You say he's at Kenyon?  His last name's Nielsen?  The son of a bitch."

Justin stood up, went to Bailey, and wrapped his arms around him, pinning Bailey's arms at his side.

"I love it that you're goin' all cave man, stud, but I need you to sit down.  Please."

Bailey shook his head like a fighter who'd just taken a smart pop to the head.  "Okay, babe.  I'm sorry."

They sat side-by-side on Bailey's bed.

"First of all, Doc Levi and I talked about all this.  He never saw the video, but I described it to him.  I'm okay with it.  He helped me put things in perspective.  And you, hunk, have helped even more.  You've let me show you how much I love you by making you feel good, regardless of who's inside of who."

He paused while Bailey processed that.

"All I need to know from you is that you aren't turned off by what you saw on the video."

"Turned off?  No.  I'm still thinking of very painful things to do to that Nielsen bastard.  Maybe even to both Nielson bastards and Lynch as well, if he had anything to do with it."
He paused.  "Oh, fuck!  Do you suppose there are other copies of that dvd anywhere?"

"Todd promised me there weren't.  But then, I've always been kind of expecting one to show up."

"All the more reason to visit Gambier with thumb screws."

Please, babe.  Forget about Todd.  I don't worry about any of that any more.  Or, to be honest, the only thing I've worried about is how you'd react when you saw the vid."

"You can relax about that.  Like I said, I'm furious that he'd do that to you."  He chuckled.  "But . . ."  He looked at Justin, eyes twinkling.

"But what?" Justin asked, looking warily back.

"As mad as I was, I have to admit that I was really turned on by the part where you were lying there, that cute little ass wiggling around in the air, pleading to be fucked."

I plead guilty when it comes to you."

Justin got up, took his half empty beer can into the bathroom where he poured its contents down the sink.

"Turned on by my ass, huh?"

"Oh, yeah!"

Justin dropped his shorts and then pushed down his boxers.  He turned around and bent over.  "Want a piece of this, big boy?"

Bailey removed his tee, shorts, and boxers in seconds.  He reached under his bed and pulled out lube.  Since Justin's six month check turned up clean, they'd quit using condoms.

"Put your hands on the bed."

Bailey knelt behind Justin and began to work his slippery fingers into Justin's exposed rosebud.

"You like this, do you boy?"

"Oh, yeah.  Finger fuck me.  Then when you get me all hot and squirming, I want you to fuck the daylights out of me."

Bailey paused in his ministrations.

"Oooh, noo, don't stop!"  Justin wailed.

"You have to agree to a condition before I'll go on."

"Anything, please!"

Bailey slapped Justin's butt with the hand that wasn't lubed up.  "You have to promise to do the same to me later."

"How much later?"

"As soon as I've finished with you."

Justin paused.  Then he wiggled his ass.  "Okay.  Now, get back to work."

"Pushy little bitch."

And you love me, don't you?"

Bailey heaved a theatrical sigh.  "Yeah, I guess I do."
