Keith's Choir College Experience Chapter 8 By Tenor LK If you have ever been to Choir College after the Thanksgiving holiday, you know that the campus is absolutely humming with the sound of Christmas, from the day you arrive back. The Wreaths with bows hand on all of the doors in the Quad, the Christmas tree in Founder's Hall, as well as the Tree in the front of the property, welcoming guests from all over the nation to Choir College's beautiful campus. Of course, the concerts are as well excellent. The Entire campus gets involved in CC's "Readings and Carols" service...its performed twice, for its popularity, formulated to follow the service of King's College, only the best Christmas carols and Hymns are sung at this non-denominational service. I arrived back on campus on Sunday Evening...to an extremely busy; buzzing campus...apparently serious events had happened this day....while I was enjoying being at home. It didn't take me too long to figure out what happened either. Apparently, one of the students decided not to return to CC, which in normal cases would not be a big problem...unless he's the Tenor who was chosen to sing in the freshman class choir's double choir piece, where choir 1 is a quartet group. Now, Dr. Jordan makes specific selections when it comes down to putting people in choirs and places....and chose his people wisely. And once he found out about the disappearance of this student, it would mean re-auditions... Auditions at CC are cut throat...it's just that way. The Section Leaders sit on the panel, and are automatically made to be the "deciding choice" making the rest of the students in your section hating you...well, except for the student who got the solo. Thank GOD Steve looked past me not picking him, and my selection for another tenor in the tenor 2 section...after learning the part myself, and knowing that only a heavy tenor voice could sing it, and preferably a voice heavier then my own, I completely skipped over all of the Tenor 1's and I voted for a Tenor 2, also winning the rest of the panel over with my reasoning. Knowing the rest of my section, the only other tenor who could sing the part with justice, was unfortunately...me. This might sound like a good thing...I know I have a solo...but I didn't want it...a Music Education major doesn't get solo's right? This made for interesting bedtime conversation with Keith on Sunday night in the lounge before we went our separate ways... "What is it about you and solos baby? You deserve to be recognized as one of the classes' star tenors" Keith stated. "But it's just not me...and we're not even sure that I am the sound Jordan is going to have in his ears...I'm so not looking forward to tomorrow...I'm so nervous!" "Sweetie, if Jordan announces that you are going to sing the part tomorrow, which would only make sense because the concert is next weekend...and he makes the section leaders learn everything...what are you going to do `decline the appointment'?" "I don't know...I'll send him an e-mail now...I know he has to know about this by now...almost every tenor has probably e-mailed him to see if they can sing the solo in his place." "I'll come with...it sounds like you need a little support" "Thanks" I said, lightly kissing him on his lips...which led to a little more kissing on his neck, before realizing we were in a public place. Once in my room, I fired up my computer, and wrote the following: Dr. Jordan, I am not sure if you know or not, but Darren Moss, Tenor 2 will not be returning back to Westminster for the remainder of the semester, which leaves the tenor spot open in the Britten "Hymn to the Virgin". There are a lot of the students wondering how you will proceed, and I want you to know that I am available for Auditions as soon as you need them to happen. Keith A. Of course...Steve was not happy with my decision to not mention anything about me taking the solo...but I just didn't feel that I should...I didn't want it! Sleeping that night wasn't easy...Poor Steve slept with me while I was kicking and turning, and we noticed how forceful I was that night when he woke up and saw the bruise on his thigh...sorry! Of course, Jordan being the narcoleptic he told us, E-mailed me back at 3 am...saying words that would inevitably get me to a place I rarely am in the morning...scared. Keith- There is no time...prepare the tenor part for today's rehearsal...you're it. JJ That's it...maybe if I was quick enough, I could pack up my things and run away just like Darren did...but then again...someone would follow me and bring me right back... "Keith...you have to chill out babe...you're going to be fine...come on, let's get some food, and I'll coach you before Choir...then we have lessons...you can not freak out before your lesson, Faith will have you head on a platter!" Steve said...with a look of concern I have never seen on his face before...I guess I'm going to have to really calm myself. After breakfast, and a quick coaching session with my accompanist (he really does prefer to hear that...weird!!!) we were off to choir. The rehearsal room was buzzing with activity...as everyone was looking for audition sheets for the Tenor spot, to see who were willing to refill the spot...I didn't have the heart to tell them that it was me...I'll leave that up to the good Doctor to do in his opening remarks. So rehearsal began as it always does, with stretching and warm-ups...and of course, Dr. Jordan walks in his normal 5 minutes late, and watches warm-ups, but it seems that he is looking for someone...that someone ended up being me. He walked straight over to me and whispered in my ear "Are you ready?" "Uh, yeah...I made sure I had it down this morning before rehearsal" I responded...still feeling ill from the initial reaction to his e-mail. "You are going to do fine Mr. Atkins, don't worry. You will be fine. You work harder for this section then any other section leader does at all." He leaves me to get back to the podium...and as Patrick finishes the warm-up, Dr. Jordan tells us about Darren's departure from the campus (as if we didn't know) and then announces me taking the solo spot. To my surprise, they all clapped, and cheered. "What did I tell you, we all want to see you succeed!" Steve whispered into my ear. So, I joined the other three who form the Choir 1 quartet in the front of the room, and we sing the piece. It's a completely different experience for me, people actually enjoying my singing. After rehearsal, Steven and I walk towards the dorm, and almost in deja-vu fashion he asks, "Would you like to go out to dinner tonight?" "Yes, But you should know something..." "Oh, well...I already know that..." "I know, but I also want you to know that I love you...thank you for your support today...it really meant a lot." "Aw, sweetie" and he kisses me full out on the lips. "Come on, The Kissing is just too much!" I turn to see Cloie there, along with Shanté. "I'm so proud of you", Shanté said. "You will certainly be able to rock out on that part!" "I agree baby, you sounded awesome!" Cloie exclaimed, practically toppling me over with her hug! "I'm taking my hottie out for dinner, we'll catch you later!" Steve said, and we continued our walk towards the dorm. Once there, we split off to our separate dorm rooms, Steven's idea, he wanted to "pick me up". So, I quickly showered, and grabbed my black Armani suit, and wore a classic white shirt with cufflinks (Steve loves cufflinks), and my red tie...and further accented everything with my black wool overcoat and red scarf. Not two minutes after I tie my shoes, I heard that `knock-knock' on the door, and opened it to see my prince there, dressed identical to me, except wearing deep cobalt blue. He kisses me on the cheek, and hands me a rose, and we head off towards town, for an evening of beautiful music and food at Mediterranea, a restaurant I had heard of, right in the center of town. Returning to the dorm, He enters my room, and puts our sign on the door...to let people know to, er...well...YOU KNOW!!!! Steve's hands were magic, as they slid over my body, pulling off layer after layer of clothing. His eyes never left mine as he connected for our first kiss while in the room, closing your eyes as you kiss just seems natural, but eyes open, kissing the guy you love, it was as if my soul was open to him. I undressed him as he was kissing me, making sure to spend time to rub over his nipples, and down his tight, firm stomach...the work of lots of laps in the pool really showing their selves. He quickly rushed over to my nightstand, grabbing lube and a condom, and holding them up to me, smiling, I couldn't help but giggle at him. He slid the condom on me with his mouth (I'll never get over that sensation of the grip of his mouth and the condom sliding over my cock) And I laid him over on his back and lubed him up, one finger at a time, and finally, placing my waiting cock in his hot, tight hole. Making love to Steve was always an experience...as he was so loud...causing him to feel so good, always made me want to give him more and more...and finally after what felt like hours of changing the speed of the rhythm from quick, to slow, from hard-core ball slapping pace to gentle pushing, I came...I filled the condom up with what felt like all of the liquid I had in my body. Steve reached up to pull me down...and he kissed me...and made quick order of falling asleep on my chest. I love him so much...I hope this feeling never goes away... Authors Rant: Hey folks!
