Sam and Chris

Chapter 31: The Project

When we arrived back at the condo in Champaign, Brandon was reading a book on the sofa in the living room. He greeted us as we found our way into the condo, "Greetings, guys! How was turkey day?"

"Terrific, Brandon," I answered. "How was yours?"

"Absolutely stupendous!" Brandon added. "I had a chance to bond with Greg and his boyfriend Anthony!"

"That's great, Brandon," I exclaimed. "How are Greg and Anthony doing?"

"Good!" Brandon answered. "Anthony was at Leo and Brian's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Actually, he was at Leo and Brian's house for most of the Thanksgiving break. His parents are in London trying to get his father settled."

"Love is in the air?" Chris asked.

"Well, I think so," Brandon answered. "They each had a separate room, but I don't think they slept alone the entire time I was there. Leo and Brian had given them the `safe sex talk' before his parents left for London. Anthony's father did the same in a different conversation. So, we'll see where this leads. How was Chicago?"

"Great!" I answered. "We spent time getting used to the condo. We had a great time with my TA, Ben, and his husband Marcus. Sawyer, Glen, Tom, and Harrison spent a weekend with us. Oh! Harrison and Tom are officially engaged!"

"Wow! I will be surrounded by love birds!" Brandon responded. "I guess this is as good of a time as any to tell you my news."

"News?" Chris asked.

"I just want to say that I really, really have enjoyed being here with you guys," Brandon began. "But, Leo and Brian have invited me to live with them for the rest of this semester and the next. Several weeks ago, I would have not accepted. But, I really liked being with Greg. So, it seems you will be losing the greatest roommate you ever had...! Seriously!" Brandon continued as he moved closer to each of us and gave us a hug, "I will be forever grateful for your hospitality. You've both been like brothers to me during my crisis."

"We've enjoyed having you here, Brandon," Chris answered. "But, we understand your decision. However, please know that you are always welcome here anytime you need a break from the little brother!"

"I'll keep that in mind! I'm sure there will be times when I want to ring Greg's fucking neck, but he's a good guy and I do miss being around him!" Brandon added. "Now, I will let you guys get some peace and quiet. I took my belongings to Leo and Brian's house during break."

"Well, Brandon," I began, "Chris and I will miss your smiling face. However, we both understand that you want to be around your brother more often. And, don't forget! Gym! 10:30 Tuesday and Thursday! Be there!"

"Yes, SIR!" Brandon replied with a salute. He hugged us both good bye.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris's phone sounded our wakeup call at 8 am on Monday morning! Chris shut off his phone and headed toward the kitchen to make coffee. When he arrived back, he snuggled next to me under the blankets.

"This afternoon, we are going shopping for a coffee maker that turns itself on in the morning," Chris decided.

"But then I won't get to watch your ass parading into the kitchen every morning!" I pouted.

"Hmmm! I'll take that comment under consideration, but we are still buying a new coffee maker!" Chris replied. "I'll show you my ass whenever you want!"

"Deal!" I agreed.

"It's time for a shower with my boyfriend!" Chris insisted as he pulled me from the bed and gave me a push into the bathroom.

After we were finally both clean and dressed, we sat in the kitchen with our morning coffee.

I admitted, "This is going to be a difficult day after having two weeks off for the holidays!"

"I know! I've gotten used to being around you all day!" Chris added. "So, I will be a very horny boy when we get home!"

"Chris, as I have said many, many times, you are always horny!" I said with a grin.

"Do you want to meet at Starbucks or home after classes today?" Chris asked.

"Unfortunately, I am in need of study time, so I think it should be Starbucks," I answered. "I don't want temptation to negate our study time!"

"Okay! I'll see you there. Our usual time?" Chris asked.

"Yup!" I said as we both headed out the door.

-------------------------------------------------------

When the day was finally over, I hurried to Starbucks to see Chris sitting at our usual table. I greeted him with a kiss, "Hey, stud! How was your day?"

"I've had better days! Yours?" Chris asked.

"Shitty! I was given major homework in all of my classes," I answered. "I am going to be a busy person until the semester ends. Why do all of these sadist professors wait until the last few weeks of school drive us crazy?"

"It builds character?" Chris responded.

"I think more to the point, it builds hostility! I hope the professors all have good security at home," I answered.

Chris smiled his usual killer smile, "I think I know a way to take your mind off your class pressures. We can start tonight after dinner and a late night study session!"

"So, you're going to make me wait until we go to bed?" I pouted.

"Yup!" Chris answered. He was still smiling. "It builds character!"

"Oh! By the way! I talked to Harrison today at lunch," I explained. "He and Tom went back to the leather store before they came back to school. I think they are really getting into the leather thing. They each bought a pair of leather pants and a leather vest. Then, they went ring shopping for Harrison. They found one identical to Tom's."

"I think they should spend time with Luke and Sean," Chris added. "I received an e-mail from Luke this afternoon. He and Sean will be back in the states in time for the holidays. They successfully bought the condo on the floor below ours. If they drive us crazy, I'll have the locks changed on our unit."

"It should be fun having them around," I continued. "Maybe they will keep Harrison, Tom, Glen, and Sawyer in check."

Chris spotted Brandon as he and a friend entered Starbucks, "Brandon just arrived. I think he is with a friend."

I turned to look. I waived to Brandon and turned back to Chris, "That's Brandon's new friend, Harvey the Hunk."

"Harvey the Hunk?" Chris asked.

"Well, it's Harvey. They first met at the gym. They were both naked exchanging phone numbers. I actually made up the name." I explained.

Okay! Don't look now, but Brandon and the Hunk are on their way over here," Chris added. God I love it when my man smiles!

"Hey guys!" Brandon greeted us. "This is Chris and Sam. You met Sam at the gym. They are boyfriends—well, more than boyfriends—they are engaged. This is my friend Harvey!"

We all exchanged greetings. Chris asked Brandon and Harvey, "Do you want to join us?"

"Are we interrupting?" Harvey asked.

"Nope!" Chris answered. "We were just talking about school and next semester."

"How was the first day back in class?" I asked.

"Shitty!" Brandon and Harvey answered at the same time.

"That makes four of us!" Chris answered. "What's your major, Harvey?"

"Political science," Harvey answered. "And, yes, I am planning to attend law school."

"Harvey has an interest in helping people in the gay community with legal problems," Brandon further explained.

"We can use all of the help we can get!" Chris answered. "Where are you from?"

"Evansville, Indiana," Harvey answered. "I think I want to live in Chicago when I am finished with school. I am so not into southern Indiana after what I went through in high school."

"What happened in high school?" I asked.

"I got the shit beat out of me because I am gay," Harvey answered. "That's what pushed me into pursuing a law degree. I was just met with blank stares from my family, the police, attorneys, and basically everyone I turned to for help. At least I found a therapist who helped me through some of the rough spots."

"I think that is why we get along so well," Brandon explained further. "We understand each other."

"And we know where not to go with one another," Harvey added. "We can keep each other company without going down the paths that neither of us can face yet."

"By the way, Sam, do you think the guys would mind if Harvey joined us at the gym?" Brandon asked.

"Of course not! We can use all of the moral support we can get! Sometimes I have a hard time getting motivated," I answered.

"Why don't you join us, Chris?" Brandon asked.

"I haven't been asked!" Chris answered.

"Chris! You know you're welcome to join us!" I responded with indignity.

Chris leaned over to kiss me. "I know! I actually have a conflict at that time. Vocal coach. Maybe next semester I can arrange a time to join you."

"That would be awesome!" Brandon responded.

"Vocal coach?" Harvey asked. "Are you a singer?"

"Yup," Chris answered. "Music and dance is my major."

"Cool!" Harvey answered.

"I think we need to get moving, Harvey," Brandon suggested. "I have a ton of school work to do before the end of the week!"

"I'm in the same boat! I have come to the conclusion that all professors are sadists!" I added.

"I think all of my professors have their Phd in how to be assholes!" Harvey concluded.

We said our good byes to Brandon and Harvey. "So," Chris began, "I think we should head out, too! If you'd like we could try to take you mind off your school work before dinner!"

"Hmm! I thought you were going to make me wait until we go to bed!" I answered.

"That was my original plan, but I have changed my mind," Chris explained.

"Then, let's get the fuck out of here!" I answered as I grabbed my backpack and pulled Chris to his feet.

"Someone seems to be in a hurry!" Chris added.

"Yup!" I explained. "I want to get you home before you change your mind again."

When we were finally at the condo, we opened the door and left a string of clothes on the path to the bedroom. We were both naked by the time we were standing next to the bed.

"I think," Chris said as he pulled me in to kiss him, "someone is horny!"

As I lay on my back in the bed, I pulled Chris on top of me and began kissing him and massaging his ass. "If you keep this up," Chris said, "I'm going to cum all over you!"

"Isn't that the purpose?" I added. I decided to go for broke and grabbed Chris's throbbing cock, lifted my legs over his shoulders, and aligned his dick on my asshole. "Skip the lube! Just fuck me!"

Chris began to slowly enter me. Finally, he was all the way in before he asked, "Are you okay?"

"No!" I hissed. "I'm more than okay! God I love your dick in me!"

Chris continued to pound my ass until his sweat dripped from his body onto mine. I was playing his ass cheeks until I decided to tweak his nipples.

"Oh! Shit, Sam!" Chris yelled. "I'm fucking cuming! Ahhh... ahhh... ahhh... ahhh... ahhh..."

As I felt the last rope of cum unload in my ass, Chris leaned down to kiss me.

"Now, I feel better!" I whispered between kisses. "Want to shower and sit naked with me while we study?"

"I thought you'd never ask," Chris answered as he moved out of bed and pulled me up with him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

After our gym group, we gathered at the pasta joint for lunch. Chris was waiting for us inside. He had saved our usual table. After we had retrieved our food, the group quickly engaged in conversation.

"So, men," Sawyer began, "what are the plans for the holidays and semester break?"

"Home with the rents," Harrison answered. "I was hoping we could do something fun for New Year's Eve, but I don't think that is going to happen."

"We are heading to my parent's house for Christmas and then to Florida for New Year's Eve," I explained.

"Where in Florida?" Tom asked.

"My grandparent's house in Palm Beach," Chris answered.

"The place on Ocean Drive?" Harrison asked.

"That's the one," Chris answered. "My grandparents, mother, and Sam's parents are returning to Illinois a few days after New Year's Eve. Sam and I are staying for another week. If anyone wants to join us you are more than welcome."

"Airfare could be a problem," Glen added glumly.

"My grandfather is sending the company plane to pick up Sam and me. You could ride back with us. I don't know what the situation is with the plane, but you might be able to catch a ride down when they pick up my grandparents, mother, and Sam's parents."

"Company plane? And, exactly how many people does this plane hold?" Tom asked.

"I've only been on it once. My grandmother calls it the big plane. It seats about 10 people. It's a Falcon something or other," Chris answered. "I'll talk to my grandfather about the trip down after New Year's Eve."

"Does your grandparent's house have enough room for all of us?" Glen asked.

"I think so," Chris answered. "It has four master suites in the main house and at least four more bedrooms in the guest house in the back."

"That would be awesome!" Harrison answered.

"I've never been on an airplane—let alone a private jet!" Harvey volunteered.

"I'll try to make it happen," Chris assured the group. "I think it would be terrific to spend some time in Florida with all of you! I'll see if Luke and Sean can come also!"

"What's the weather like in January?" Glen asked.

"January can be a bit cool by Florida standards," Chris explained. "However, during the day, you can usually manage to sit on the beach. Maybe not in speedos, but it should be doable for a few hours during the day. Nights are usually cooler than normal in January."

"All of this talk about beaches in January has me excited, but I think we need to head to class!" Tom changed the subject.

We all went our different ways. I was going to meet Chris again at Starbucks after class so we could both hit the books without any pesky distractions—like horniness.

After class I dashed off to Starbucks. Chris was there with his friend David. I grabbed coffee and headed towards them. As I neared the table where they were sitting Chris smiled his huge trademark smile and stood to peck me on the cheek. "We were just talking about you," Chris said as I sat beside him.

I raised my eyebrow before I responded, "And, what was the subject of this lofty conversation?"

"I was telling Chris that I want a website—something like his," David answered. "Would you be willing to do it? Of course, unlike this cheap bastard, I would be willing to pay for it."

"I'd love to do it," I answered. "Could I do something about it over the break between semesters?"

"Of course!" David answered. "I'm going to start looking for summer gigs and thought a website would be helpful."

"Maybe I could convince Harrison, Tom, and Glen to help me," I added. "We sort of spread the workload between us when we did Chris's."

"It could be the start of an empire!" Chris excitedly remarked. "You might be the next Mark Zuckerberg!"

"How much do you think you would need to charge for something similar to Chris's?" David asked.

"I will need to talk to the others," I thought out loud. "We spent a lot of time on Chris's, but we have the process down now. I'll let you know."

"Outstanding!" David answered. "Maybe the others in our performance group would be interested, too!"

"Does this mean you could be so rich and famous that I won't need to work for a living?" Chris asked as he smiled the smile I love so much.

"I'm not certain about that, but, if it happens, we'll both be happy!" I answered. "You can be my sex slave. I will treat you in the style with which you want to be accustomed!"

"Sex slave?" David added with a leer.

Chris and I both laughed. David left to meet his boyfriend.

Chris turned to me after David had left, "It's nice that you want to include the other three!"

"We work well together," I answered. "Besides we can do more in a short time if we split things into smaller tasks. And, while we are on the subject, you need to get some clips of you on YouTube. And, you need to have a Facebook page and a LinkedIn account. You can even start tweeting like all of the stars do!"

"I'm not a star yet," Chris answered.

"Stick with me, babe, and I'll make you a star!" I explained. "Besides, I want to travel with you on your European tour!"

"I'll definitely take you along... if that happens," Chris promised.

"Now, I need more caffeine and then I need to hit the books," I said as I stood to get us coffee. "I have two tests on Friday. One in Calculus, and the other in English."

"Does that mean we won't have sex until after Friday?" Chris asked with a horrified look on his face.

"Chris! Be real! You know as well as I do that we cannot go that long without having sex!" I definitively explained my position.

"Thank God!" Chris answered. Fortunately, he was smiling again. "We would probably both loose our minds!"

We both opened our respective books and spent the next hour reading.

I finally closed my English book, "I think we could use a break, don't you?"

"Yup!" Chris answered. "What did you have in mind?"

"Well..., we could go home and do more studying. Or..., we could go home and get naked." I answered.

"You know that I could live my whole life naked with you, oh sexy one!" Chris agreed.

"But David wouldn't get his website," I teased.

"Fuck David's website! Naked is more important!" Chris answered as he smiled and shoved his book into his backpack.

We were out of Starbucks in an instant!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our study group met after class on Wednesday to put some finishing touches on our project. Chris's website was finally done with time to spare!

Near the end of our session, I decided to tell the guys about David's offer, "You remember David, Chris's friend from the show?"

"Yup!" Tom answered.

"Well," I began to explain. "He wants a website similar to the one we have finished for Chris. And, he's willing to pay us for it. But, we need to figure out how much if you guys are interested."

"You mean he's actually going to give us money for this?" Harrison asked.

"I'm sure he doesn't have an unlimited budget, but he said he was willing to pay," I answered. "Besides, we've worked out the bugs of the process with Chris's, so we should be able to take the basics of his and whip out a new one. What do you think?"

"It's like reusable code, but with different colors and different copy," Glen added.

"We probably spent 100 hours on Chris's, but the second time around... About 25?" Tom was thinking out loud.

"Maybe we should ask Ben," I said.

"Good idea!" Harrison agreed.

"Why don't I send him an e-mail tonight," I offered. "That way he will have time to give it some thought. And, I just remembered! Chris had a couple of quotes for a professionally done website. I'll ask him, too!"

We all left feeling good both about our project—which was finished—and a future business venture. When I got home, I found my stud boyfriend sitting at the kitchen island sipping coffee and reading a book. He had gym shorts and nothing else on! `God! He is gorgeous!' I thought to myself.

I dropped my back pack on the floor beside Chris, shed my coat, and gave my boyfriend a kiss.

"Why aren't you naked?" I asked.

"Because I was waiting for you!" Chris replied.

"Aren't you sweet?" I responded.

"Nope! Horny!" He answered. "How was your day?"

"Terrific!" I answered. "We finished your website today. We will show it to you when we can all get together! And, we talked about David's website. We are all excited to do it for him, but we are totally confused about how to charge him."

"I can show you two quotes I had before I met you!" Chris answered. "There are some links to other client's websites as examples and the actual financial details."

"Super!" I effused. "I think we are just a little shell-shocked that someone would want to actually hire us to do website work!"

"Don't sell yourselves short!" Chris added. "You guys did an excellent job on the one you did for me. It looks so professional. You guys, I think, are naturals at this!"

"Thanks for the vote of confidence!" I responded. "We really had fun working on it. I only hope David doesn't drop dead when he hears the cost."

"He told me he's looked around. So, I don't think he will be too shocked!" Chris answered. "Now, why don't you and I get naked? I want to make love to my website designer!"

"You're on, stud!" I responded as I gently grabbed Chris's hand and began to lead him into the bedroom.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I met Chris at Starbucks on Thursday after my computer science TA session. I had not been terribly engaged in the class. As I entered the coffee shop, I saw Chris sitting at our table and almost ran to his side. I needed my man!

"Chris!" I started with an excited tone. "I almost ditched my computer science class because I am so bummed out! Have you seen today's Chicago Tribune?"

"No! Why? What's wrong?" Chris asked. He seemed concerned.

I pulled out my phone and started the Chicago Tribune app so I could show it to Chris. "You have to read this! But, let me first give you a quick summary. There was a gay homeless kid who was 15. He was found beaten to death in Lincoln Park yesterday evening. No one seems to know him. Why was any kid homeless at 15? And, would this have happened if he hadn't been gay?"

"Those are very good questions! And, I think I can senses that there is a `Sam on a mission project' about to be hatched!" Chris answered.

"Maybe I'm just too emotional about this, but it bothers me!" I added.

"And, if it bothers you, it bothers me!" Chris empathized. "What should we do?"

"I haven't thought this through yet! But, I know I need to do something. I wouldn't like myself if I just let this incident pass," I admitted. I was starting to calm down a bit.

"First, we need to get some information," Chris explained. "Who wrote this article?"

"It was a column written by Mary Schmich," I announced. "Why?"

"Send her an e-mail and tell her how much this story has touched you in some very strong sense of the word," Chris answered. "Tell her how this makes you feel. Tell her about your questions. Tell her you are willing to help others who might be in this position. Tell her a little about yourself. And, you might tell her that you're boyfriend's grandparents are Thomas and Elaine Washington—they know her from charity work."

I pulled out my laptop and began hammering away on the e-mail. I finished it in about 15 minutes and turned my laptop so Chris could read it:

Ms. Schmich:

I read your column in today's Chicago Tribune about the gay homeless boy who was attacked in Lincoln Park last night. It was a very moving article. And, it touched me greatly. I almost started to cry when I began to feel how lost this boy was with no one else in his life who cared about him.

I wish I had known him before he was killed. At least he would have someone, somewhere who cared about him.

I am a student at the University of Illinois in Champagne Urbana. My boyfriend, Christopher Johnson, suggested I send this e-mail to you. And, I intend to do something to prevent others—especially gay teenagers—from enduring this same or similar hatred.

I have not yet decided on my course of action; however, I will be spending this summer in Chicago as an intern at the Thomas and Elaine Washington Family Foundation. And, I know there are organizations in Chicago who work with the gay homeless youth population. But, this kid slipped through the cracks! Why?

So, if you can spare a few minutes, I would like to speak to you by telephone to discuss this boy's situation in further detail. Meanwhile, thank you for writing such a touching and heartfelt column.

Sincerely,

Samuel Williamson

"This is very good, Sam," Chris said. He was wiping a tear from his cheek. "And, you are right! The boy must have felt so, so lonely and abandoned!"

"Should I change anything in the e-mail?" I asked.

"I think it is perfect the way it is written," Chris answered. "For a computer geek, you sure know how to write!"

"Maybe it is my mother's influence," I added. "Do you think we can do something to help others in this position?"

"I think, Sam, if anyone can do something to help, it will be you!" Chris said. "You have that look in your eye. It's the look that says there will be hell to pay if I don't get my way!"

"I guess you do know me don't you!" I confirmed as I kissed Chris. I hit the send button and packed away my laptop.

"Do you need to study tonight?" Chris asked.

"I've pretty much over studied for the calculus and English exams tomorrow," I offered. "So, I could take a break tonight. Why?"

"I'd like to take you out to dinner tonight," Chris explained. "To the Italian place we both like. It's like a celebration of my boyfriend's crusader for good coming out!"

To be continued...

I hope you liked the direction that `Sam and Chris' is taking. I've heard from many people and would like to hear from even more. Once I get a few more installments complete, I plan to setting up a Facebook so we can share our ideas with one another.
