Earlier, he'd confirmed reservations at the Ile d'Orleans for the lead parties, Mac, Melancon, Walters, Garret, several others and of course Pete and Kirk. All the men enjoyed Bourbon Street excitement below from their room vantage points. Mac checked in with Kirk before turning in and reported that he couldn't reach Pete. Kirk said they were having a nightcap and handed the room phone to Pete who accepted the check-in call and said good night to their boss. "OK rookie, though I guess you're not that any longer" Kirk posed; "the night of the fire and explosion, how did you `just happen to be at the Monte Christo' and more to the point, even know of its existence?" Pete stood, began pulling off his holsters and shirt, revealing a chiseled upper torso, kicked off his shoes and paused, "well I think I may have found it listed online when I learned we were going to New Orleans" he remarked and continued to tug off socks and then his slacks and boxer briefs. His actions and naked torso got ALL of Kirk's senses alert. Pete's firm torso and rugged good looks were, after all just Kirk's type. "I guess I owe you more details Agent Pete Owens" said Kirk, who continued "Ty and I had been lovers for about 6 years when we began working together and that was a challenge, we never left work at the office. Though we had separate addresses, we lived together at my place most days of the week. The pair of Wassily chairs that face each other in the living room were birthday presents for him a year before his death. They face each other for a lot of reasons that are special to me, as is the travertine block between them. Our travels were often work related but we tried to always be aware of our goals together and while apart. Though we had somewhat of an open relationship, we were committed to each other. His sudden death was devastating and especially so since I could not grieve at work and while many of our peers and co-workers offered their support, it was as a co-worker and not as my life partner." Pete crossed to Kirk, kneeled in front of him, looked up, took Kirk's hands and held them together with his; "I am not Ty and never can be, but times have changed both in society and within The Hub and I'd like us to see where our lives can go from here?" Kirk stood, hoisted Pete to a standing position, encircled his waist and then leaned in to kiss the younger man who was naked against him. They stood kissing for a long while before Pete began to undress Kirk. When done, the pair left for the bed; folded their kissing into a 69 and finished off each other with intense and long lasting orgasms. They left for the oversized shower and kissed for long minutes beneath the rain head shower system. The steam filled the room as each dried the other and returned to bed. Soon Pete was on his back, reaching up for his older partner and hoped-to be lover. Kirk took the lead from there and covered Pete in passion and was soon buried deeply in the younger stud. Their passionate moans echoed loudly, only obscured, they hoped by the early morning revelry of Bourbon Street outside. With no breakfast wake up call, the pair slept until the door knock by housekeeping stirred them awake. Kirk rushed to the door and begged off housekeeping services. The older maid winked and put her finger to her lips and shook her head, chuckling as she moved on to the next room. Kirk returned to bed, the pair 69d again before showering, cleaning up, dressing and going to Café du Monde for coffee and beignets. They met the others for a late lunch before making their way back to the base for operation closure. Mac advised them they deserved some Personal Time and that the Ile d'Orleans had been booked for the rest of the week for them and that he'd see them next Monday for their next duty posting. Kirk did spend another afternoon debriefing Beth as much as he could, to give her some closure as well, but when Pete arrived to pick him up she knew that this was the new man in Kirk's life and smiling, hugged him and said her good byes. Now several years later, Kirk no longer consults regularly and never other than at The Hub. Pete travels to domestic and foreign locations. They have a great life together. And yes, Ben Palmer, the 30ish EMT is part of their household as well. He went back to school, is now a P.A. and does volunteer work for at risk kids, teens and adults at the local community health clinic. Kirk has sponsored a chair at the local community college for criminal justice majors, it is the Tyrone Thomas Community Action and Service Chair. They still get cards, emails and texts from Marco.
