CHAPTER 16 The first day back to school was a welcome day, for me at least. As much as I liked break, I thrive from social interaction, and it was nice to be back in school and surrounded by people. I sat at the lunch table with Logan and the rest of the team. Nolan sat across from me and Sam was next to him. Blake was nowhere to be seen. I hadn't heard from him since that day in the park, not that I really deserved to hear from him anyway. I'd had a lot of time to think, and crazily enough, I still had no idea what I was going to do about anything. I sat there quietly while the rest of the team laughed and talked about their holidays. Logan squeezed my hand under the table and gave me a look that asked me if I was okay. I nodded my head and pasted on a happy face and squeezed his hand back. Sam stood up and grabbed my tray. "Scuse us boys, we will be right back," she said. I followed her to the garbage and we tossed the remnants on our trays in and put the trays up on the cleaning station. She gripped my arm and pulled me toward the hallway. "What's going on in that head?" she turned to face me. "Nothing, really," I grinned. She pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. "Have you seen Blake lately?" I asked. "He got sick. That's what Shayla says anyway. Listen, I'm gonna say this once and once only. You aren't going to get very many more chances with these boys, so you need to make up your mind and you need to make it up fast. Blake isn't going to wait around forever and Logan damn sure isn't going to keep a mopey old bag around for much longer. "Whatever you're feeling, whatever you're thinking...well you need to sort it out and figure out what you want. Don't get me wrong, Cori, I love the hell out of you, but you are just one big soap opera with a bunch of bad writers. You have made a slew of poor choices in the last few months and it's time to take responsibility and figure your shit out." She turned on her heel and left me standing there. Upset and alone, but every one of her words was accurate. Later, Nolan and I were laying in my bedroom listening to records and flipping through magazines. "So are you going to ask Sammy to be your girlfriend?" I asked looking up from one of the ancient Seventeens she lent me. "I think so. That reminds me, how should I ask her to prom?" he looked up from a copy of Sports Illustrated. "Hunny, that's up to you. I'm still waiting for Logan to ask me. It's only like...four months from now." "Oh god, I hope she doesn't make me wear pink." "Nolan, she's a ginger. No ginger in her right mind would wear pink." "Touché," Nolan nodded in agreement, "What color you gonna make Logan wear?" "I was thinking we could wear pink," I said with a very pointed look, seeing as how he had literally just trashed the color, "because I look flawless in pink. Plus I already made a black and silver sequined tux jacket. All I need is a pink button up and a cute bow tie and I'm set." "Are you trying to look like Barbie?" Nolan scoffed. "Excuse you, Barbie is amaze. You are just jelly because she now has her own reality show and you don't," I returned my gazed to the magazine. "I'm not `jelly' of anything that Barbie does. She is an antifeminist toy." "That's not true. Barbie has shown girls everywhere that they can be whatever they want to be. A teacher, a doctor, a model, an astronaut. She shows girls that they are strong and worthy. And who cares if her body is unrealistic and her hair is too blonde and her eyes are too blue, she is an amazing role model and more women could stand to unleash their inner Barbie," I took a breath and looked up at Nolan. He was pondering the stuff I'd said and nodded at me. "I think you could be on to something," he said before flipping the page on his magazine. "You should ask her with a pizza or something cheesy like that." "That pun almost made me artichoke," Nolan rolled his eyes at me. I went into a giggle fit. Nolan just waited for me to be done. "What about if you write it on her car with sticky notes but each sticky note could say a thing you like about her or something cute about the two of you." "I don't know," Nolan said, "that just seems like a lot of work." "Well yes but I'm sure she'd love it. Girls love that kind of shit," I said looking down at the model on the page before me. "We'll see." "Nolan," I said after a while of silence, "can I ask you something?" "Sure, Buddy, anything," he gave me his undivided attention. "How does someone choose who to be with?" "Are you still trying to decide whether you love Logan or Blake?" he asked, cocking his head at me. "Okay, yes. No. Maybe? I don't know, Nolan. What if I am still fighting with myself? Blake makes me feel one way and Logan makes me feel a whole different way," I sighed. "Honestly it depends on which way you like to feel more. Which guy makes you happiest?" Nolan asked as he sat up. "Ugh, you are absolutely no help." "Sorry, Man, this sounds like a you problem. Obviously I think you should pick Blake, but you do whatever makes you happy." The next day I was sitting in the library at my usual table. Surprisingly, I was working on English and not French. I was listening to music on my phone with my earbuds in. I looked up as Blake sat across from me. "Hey, Princess," he teased. "Blake, what do you want?" "I want to be friends with you. We both know we can't be together. I'm with Shayla and you're with Logan and I can respect that. I just don't want us to lose that closeness we had though. You, me, Logan, and Shayla. We are going to the Winter Carnival this Saturday. I won't take no for an answer, I already bought the tickets," he smiled big and stood up. "Blake-" "Shayla and I will be there to get you at 6:30." "Sounds good," I said reluctantly. I forced a smile and Blake walked away. Damn, his ass looked great today. For a moment I wished that I could feel his lips on mine and my heart ached. I went back to my work when Sam walked up, "What was that about?" "What was what about?" I asked looking up at her. She cocked her head to the side and put a hand on her hip, giving me a look that said "don't play stupid". "He asked Logan and me on a double date with him and Shayla." "Gross. Why would he want that?" she sat down across from me. "He says he wants us to be friends," I scoffed. I twirled my pencil through my fingers nervously, "I don't know if I can do that." "Why not?" Sam furrowed her brow. "I think it would hurt too much." "I knew you still liked him!" she blurted. "Sammy, I don't know WHAT I like anymore. Things are different with Logan and me, but after so long of me wanting him, and him not wanting me back... I mean... Maybe that's what I liked about him." "That he wasn't into you?" she fingered the pages of my book. "Maybe. Like, what if I'm only with Logan because I don't want to hurt him?" I looked down at my book. I was so confused. I wish I could go back to past me and smack me. I wish I could tell me how I was wasting my time worrying about such stupid things. "Break up with him." "What?" I looked up at her. "You aren't happy. I can see it in your eyes. There is a deep kind of sadness behind them. Break up with him and be with Blake," she said shrugging her shoulders like it was the easiest task in the world. "I think my complete lack of honesty and respect for him shot that horse in the face, Sam. I tried to be with Blake but he chose Shayla," I sighed. "We had this talk, Cori. The only reason he picked Shayla is because you didn't fight hard enough," she chugged what was left of the water in my water bottle. "I really just don't think it's possible for Blake and me." "Logan just isn't the one for you. Quit fooling yourself," she stood up and walked off. I narrowed my eyes at her. She was always doing this to me! Maybe she was right. And that's when I made the decision to break up with Logan. I left the library and walked to the weight room, down the hall, where I knew he'd be working out. I peeked in and saw him lifting the barbell above his chest. Blake was talking to him. Damn, he'd gotten to him before I could. I hid around the corner as Blake left and then I walked in and up to him. He was shirtless and his chest glistened with sweat. His face was red. "Shouldn't you have a spotter?" I asked putting a hand on my hip. "I can handle myself," as he said it, he started struggling with the weight. I rushed forward and grabbed it before he effortlessly put it on the hook. He chuckled. "You jerk! I thought it was gonna crush you!" I punched him, hard. He pulled me onto him and I was straddling his lap. He sat up and pulled me in for a kiss. His lips were gentle and warm. His hands were on either side of my waist and I felt so warm and cozy. "I missed you today," he said looking into my eyes. I completely forgot the reason I'd even come down here. "I missed you too," I kissed his bottom lip as he ran his hands up my shirt. "Ya know, it's proven that men burn more calories with someone in their lap while they work out," he grinned at me. "Oh is that right?" I giggled and kissed his sweaty forehead. "Let's find out," he laid back and took the heavy weight from its resting place. He did a few reps. His face was turning so red and he looked so sexy. My hands found their way to his abs and gently caressed them. He shivered and put the weight back quickly. "I could die if you keep that kind of thing up!" he chuckled and sat up again almost throwing me from my spot on his huge, muscled thighs. "Sorry, Logan, it just that you were really turning me on." "Do you...wanna take a shower?" he whispered, looking around to make sure no one was listening. "Here?" I asked, wide eyed. "Why not? The showers are stalls and have curtains," he winked, "no one would ever find out." I looked around to make sure no one was there, then nodded and climbed off of him. I was starting to get hard just thinking of how scandalous this was. We scurried into the locker room and stripped out of our clothes quickly. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the nearest shower stall. Warm water rushed over us and he pulled me close and put his lips on mine. His hands fell to the small of my back and I kept mine on his chest. I gasped when I felt the warmth of his hardness against my thigh. I dropped to my knees and tookas much as I could between my lips. His eyes rolled back into his head and he moaned quietly. His fingers ran through my wet curls. I licked the tip and tasted his sweet precum. He'd been eating a lot of pineapple and I could tell. My hands grasped the firm round muscles of his perfect ass. After about five minutes of sucking, I felt him beginning to tense. He reached down and pulled me up to my feet before sinking to the ground and taking my achingly hard dick into his mouth. I wanted to yell out how great his tongue felt on my rod. His fingers snuck around to my hole and swirled around it. I moaned as he slipped a fat digit in. I was precumming like crazy and he was making me feel great. "I'm gonna cum," I whispered to Logan. He looked into my eyes and gave me a thumbs up with his free hand. As soon as my tip hit the back of his throat again, I blew. My body shook and vibrated as I emptied my balls into my boyfriends willing mouth. He sucked until I couldn't handle it anymore. He pulled off and stood. I grabbed hold of his thick cock and jerked it as we made out. I could taste myself on his tongue. He breathed loudly into my mouth and I felt the warm jizz splash all over my tummy. He continued kissing me and I lost my mind. My head spun and my knees were weak. "I love you," he whispered to me before kissing me again. "I love you too," I hugged him close to me and we stood under the stream of hot water. Finally we got cleaned up, got dressed, and drove over to the local diner. "So did Blake tell you we are going to the carnival this Saturday?" "Yeah, did you want to go to that?" I asked taking a bite of my grilled cheese. "He apologized for that stupid shit he said at the party and he didn't really give us a choice," Logan shrugged and ate a spoonful of the chili he'd ordered. "I guess it could be fun. You'll win me a giant teddy bear, right?" I looked at him flirtatiously. "Only if you ride on the Ferris Wheel with me," he winked and sucked on his spoon in a sensual way. I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Oh Bobby, you're so bad! A good girl like me shouldn't be out with a hooligan like you!" I did my best fifties white girl voice. "C'mon, Betty," he chimed back in a Jersey accent while pretending to comb back his hair, "let's not make this a big deal." We burst into giggles and finished up our meal and then Logan took me home. I walked inside and was greeted with a hug from Tommy. "Kitty Cat, what do you do if you like someone?" "Like...like like them?" I asked, stepping back from him. "Yes...do you get them flowers or something? How does that work?" he couldn't seem to look me in the eyes. "Well you tell them you like them and if they like you back...you just kinda go from there. Who's the lucky person?" "It's no one!" his face turned red and he ran up to his room and slammed the door. "What was that all about?" I asked Mom as I passed her on the way to the kitchen. "He's got a crush on little Julie Smith," she said following me in and getting more tea. "Good for him," I said as I grabbed the jug of water from the fridge and poured a glass. There was just something irresistible about those Smith kids. "So how was your day?" Mom sat down at the counter and I joined her. "It was pretty good. I kinda just derped around all day. Blake wants to do a double date to the carnival on Saturday." "Oh who are you guys going with?" I tilted my head with a confused look, "I'm going with Logan and he's taking Shayla?" "Oh... I thought Blake was taking you as his date..." Mom's voice faded off and she looked at her teacup embarrassed. "Why would I go on a date with Blake? Logan is my boyfriend. I think I'm gonna keep it that way. I love Logan," I said. And for a second, I doubted myself, but then I decided that I did love Logan. "I'm sorry, Hunny, I just wish you wanted to be with a better guy, like Blake." I suddenly felt very offended, "Logan is a perfectly respectable guy." "I mean, sure, if you don't look at his record," Mom scoffed. I stood up angrily. "Just because he isn't a Bible-thumping psycho like you?" I shouted. Mom narrowed her eyes at me, "Go to your room." "Gladly," I snatched up my backpack and stormed off to my room. How dare she insult my boyfriend? She had no right to talk like that about the man I loved. I slammed my door as hard as possible, shaking the walls. I huffed and sat down roughly on my bed. *AUTHOR'S NOTE* Hey all! Three chapters left.
