I didn't know what to do so I got up and cooked up a nice little breakfast. With eggs, bacon and hash browns, all the good stuff that would come out of a country kitchen, where I learned. When I turned around I found a smiling, gleaming Cameron standing in the kitchen area at a chair. "You cook?" "Sure we can say that." I smiled as I passed him a plate and we sat down at the table. "This is really good, where did you learn how to do this?" Apparently he was from a family that didn't cook much he hadn't had the opportunity to learn how to use the stove. He was raised on fast food or other foods that didn't require much preparation. "My grandmother was a great cook and before she died she taught me what she could, I'm not title worthy but I could hold my own for dinner nights." I smiled, I could see staying friends and living with this guy for the rest of my life. But I think that I liked him as a close friend not anything else and his smile told me the same thing. "What are you going to do today?" He looked at me inquisitively. "Well seeing as I know almost nothing about this place I was hoping to follow you around if you don't mind?" I smiled. "Would I say no to my `Hero'" He smiled a meek smile. "Now don't you start that now, if I didn't save you then how else would I make an explosion on campus?" I smiled and winked at him. We both laughed as we took our dishes to the kitchen. Walking through campus without any worries was refreshing. It was amazing just to look around and smile at the air. I could get used to this even when school started back up. I didn't miss my old school except for some of my teacher friends but I still emailed them. Other then that just hanging out with Cam was refreshing, I had only had one friend like him before and she was impossible to be with now that we were about a hundred miles apart. But I would not break any communication with her. But Cameron was here and nice. We walked across one of the minor streets on campus and went into a store that looked small. The front of the shop was a quaint café that had the smell and the feel of home. The café worker behind the bar smiled at me as I walked in. He was cute but something about him made me feel strange. He was nice after we started talking but just something that seemed a little aggressive. Like he pushes people into things, not mean like just pushy. We sat down with our drinks, discovering that we both had the same taste in coffee, a nice mocha with a hint of coconut. After a few moments of small talk I told him I wanted to check out the rest of the store. Through the back walk way in the traditional beaded drapes, was an immense book store. This place had stolen all my passion, I loved books. I walked around in awe as I wondered my way to the science fiction area. I looked around. Cameron had told me that this place was the main hang-out for most of the guys seeing as it was a coffee shop, bookstore and had a connecting game area, complete with pool table. He had also said that it was a place for the younger kids, mostly underclassmen. But I knew I would be spending a lot of time here. Thinking and walking was never my strong sport, I ran into someone. "Excuse me." I reached out and put my hand on the kids shoulder to stabilize the both of us. I glanced up from the shelves and our eyes locked. The greenest eyes set into a stunningly tanned face. It was the boy from the restaurant, the Adonis. "It's alright." His voice had a creamy melting sense to it. He continued to stare into my eyes as we stood there. `C'mon Ayden snap out of it' I could only think for myself all the other visible actions were froze in time. Thinking was only a momentary luxury, when he spoke again I lost that ability along with the rest of them. "You come here often?" He said a little shakily but I didn't notice. "Um..." I couldn't think of anything to say. I was thinking of nothing. Far off in the store a book dropped on the ground, and I woke up. "Oh, no this is my first time; I'm new to the school. But I love it here so far." "Yea it's really nice. My brother has been here for a couple of years, so I knew a lot about this place even though I'm a freshman. What are you?" "Oh I'm a junior." I smiled at him, and he blushed. "Cool maybe we will have some classes together when we start back." He laughed. "So do you like to read?" I was yelling at myself for asking such a foolish question, of coarse he did. He was in a bookstore rather than the game room connected. "Yea but I never know what to read, I have a hard time trusting books to be good." He frowned and looked down. "Well I can help, if you'd like I have a lot of the books that are considered popular and then some. What kind of books do you like?" "Well I've only read a couple of books but I like stuff like Harry Potter." Yes! One of my favorites there was more to this kid then just looks. "Well have you tried Artemis Fowl?" He looked up at me inquisitively. "I have heard they weren't very good." He looked like he was unsure of both my opinion and the person he gave him the advice. "Who ever told you that was lying...well they were at least sadly mistake." I smiled as I passed him the first book. "Trust me that it's a good book and a quick read." We talked for awhile just about books and other things; we found a cushioned couch and faced each other. He was an intriguing person to talk to, very mature for a freshman. He was a bit older then most the ones in his class he was almost fifteen. After awhile of talking I told him that I needed to go check my friend and that we should meet here tomorrow to hang out. He agreed and left to go to his friends. I walked slowly back out to the café thinking of him. When I walked out to the café I saw the guy, Ben East talking to Cameron, and Cameron didn't look like he was enjoying the company. "...C'mon you jock sniffing cock sucker, just admit it, admit what you did." "Who are you calling cock sucker?" I said as I walked up to them." "None of you business kid get out of here." He said nastily with out even looking at me. "Actually it is my business you're sitting in my seat talking to my friend, and I want you to leave." "Get out of here fag, go suck someone's dick." He snarled at me as he glanced up at me. "Well look at the pot calling the kettle black." I laughed at him. "What do you mean by that?" He stood up not nearly my height but impressively intimidating, but I had my fare share of bullies not to back down. "Well from what I have heard, you're not one to turn down a blowjob or anything else with the guys around here." His face reddened and he squinted his eyes. "Who ever you been talking to you better learn better manners. Or else you might believe every lie you've heard." "Oh I'm not sure, you seem the type, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least. So before you go around pestering people about there sexuality you better learn to take care of your own...kid." I smiled as I looked down at him. "This isn't over." The classic line said by every bully who just got showed up in front of a crowd full of people. He turned and quickly fled the café letting a very little freshman fall over as he slammed the door open. I sat down with Cameron. "You just pissed off Ben East, this schools most popular man of the year." He said this like it mattered and I just shrugged. "You know guy, you're not going to have many friends if you insist on talking to people like that." "I'm not here to win any more friends I got a couple and that's all that matters." I smiled at him. "Really? Who else has your charm won over?" "I don't know about won over but I met this freshman in the book shop that I'm meeting here tomorrow to talk...he seemed really cool." "Really...did you get a name?" He looked at me with his eye brow cocked up. "Actually, now that I think about it...no...he doesn't need one in my opinion." I continued to tell him what I thought about the kid, from the first time I saw him, to the last words said in the books store. The conversation being relatively one sided lasted until we got back to our dorm. We both went to our rooms to be alone for a bit. I don't know what he did, but I tried to read, and when that didn't work I pulled out my laptop, a going away present from my parents, and typed a couple of emails. The last email took a little more time because I filled my friend back home in on the boy here. I slowly drifted off to sleep, dreaming. SPRING BREAK DAY 4 The day started rather abruptly with me waking up and finding the dorm room empty, Cameron had gone out early this morning to go "talk" with someone, one of his prospect friends. I was happy that he was going to have some fun, I'm sure he enjoyed hanging out with me but he need to have some real "fun" since we weren't going to do anything with each other. I had set out date up with the mystery kid named Adonis for twelve noon. And as it approached that time I became more and more nervous. During the morning I realized that I didn't even know if the kid was bi or anything. And my `gaydar' had been wrong before. I went out in my jogging clothes preparing to wrong the anxiety out, as I stepped out the door a person ran into me. The person was, the boy. He was running, in jogging clothing, like me. As I caught my self on the door he fell into me. As I held him in my arms I felt him shudder and relax. "Well good morning, you like to run as well?" I smiled at him, as I lifted back into his own balance. "Some times it helps me think and it's really good when I'm anxious" He gave me a nervous smile like he wasn't sure of something. "Well mind if I join you for a run?" I smiled at him again, never really stopped smiling honestly. "Sure, I would love that." I was surprised that he said he would love that but I didn't care I would love to be with him...in general. We set out in to a slow jog, more walking then running at first. We talked little conserving our breathing but what we did say I hung on every word. We talked about our family troubles, we didn't elaborate much but, I told him I was sent here because I was in the way of a nasty divorce, and he was sent here for tradition, his grandfather, father, and brother have all been here. After an hour or so of nice cool talking and jogging, we set out on a harder run, which turned into a race. When we got to where we thought the end should be, we tied, and decided to meet back at the café at twelve. I went back to my dorm and took a nice hot shower. It was refreshing that I had spent the morning with Corey. His name, Corey had told me his name when he left a while ago. Around twelve I stepped into the café and sat down at a table visible by the door. I watched as numerous people walked by, including Cameron, who was with a handsome boy whom I had not seen before. I smiled, as someone called my name from a side door. "Ayden, what are you smiling at?" Corey said as he walked to the chair opposite me touching my shoulder as he went by. "Oh, just my friend Cameron." I said cheerfully. "Oh." He sounded disappointed "Do you like your friend Cameron?" I think he sounded a little jealous, but I still didn't know his preference in anyway. So I decided to answer him cautiously, not trying to reveal mine incase. "Of course, he is like my brother, but I just want to see him happy with whom he chooses, to um, hang out with." I looked at him as he brightened at the word `brother'. "Do you have anyone to...hang out...with?" He asked me his voice shaking a little. "Well I'm hanging out with you now aren't I?" I said, playing the naïve card, just incase he really meant what he said. "Oh right" He almost giggled. "Do you have a girlfriend?" It sounded blunt and out of place but it was awkwardly fitting. "Nah, I don't like girls." He sounded a little immature statement so I decided to take the supporting role instead of taking what he said for what it was worth. "Oh well I guess your still young, and I suppose you'll grow to like them." "No you missed my meaning, I do not like girls, and won't" He said this with more maturity and more force. "Oh I see." I didn't change my face, I wanted to smile as big as I could but I didn't want to scare him. "Well do you have a girlfriend?" He asked a little sadder this time around. "Oh well, about that..." I looked down and then smiled looking up to him. "...I don't like girls much either." He grinned as big as I wanted to, so I returned the smile. We just sat there for a moment and smiled. We talked for awhile and then decided to meet again tomorrow same time. We parted with a quick hug and a pat on the back. Public display of anything was a little new to both of us and plus we weren't even `anything' right now anyways. I went back to my dorm to find Cameron sitting on the couch. "Have a nice day?" "Very!" He laughed and patted the couch next to me. He told me everything but the `fun' details. So I told him everything that happened to me as well, there were no `fun' details yet but I was hoping that we would be come something more. "Well did you at least find out a name?" He asked inquisitively. "Corey!" I smiled. His face changed, and looked a little nervous. "Corey what?" "You know, I don't know. He is the nicest thing on this side of the moon anyways, what's it matter?" I smiled cheerfully. "Just protective, don't want my new friend in any kind of trouble." "Oh c'mon how bad can a freshman be?" I smiled getting up and going to my room not seeing Cam cringe. SPRING BREAK DAY 5 I walked in again to the café around twelve, and sat down at the same table. I waited patiently, loving just to see him walk in. I waited more and looked at my watch, it was getting close to one. So I decided to walk around and look through the rest of the shop to make sure he wasn't waiting for me somewhere. When I discovered that he wasn't anywhere I went back to my dorm and sulked around for several hours. When it was around four, it began to rain, hard, and steady. It rained like this for several more hours, I looked out the window and saw no one walking around the courtyard, nothing going on as usual. At 9:00 Cameron came in from a dinner, with his friend; he was all smiles until he saw me. So I told him what happened and confided in him my sorrows. He told me that he knew something like this would happen he wouldn't tell me why, all he would say was he didn't think I should know yet. At 10:00 there came a knock at our front door. I looked between the door and Cameron, he shrugged so I got up and went to the door. Opening it a stumbling figure, shivering and wet came through the door, and fell into my arms. "Corey?" My knees almost buckled at his unexpected dead weight. All I heard was him sobbing so I picked him up and carried him to the common area where Cameron was waiting with a towel. I smiled at him, as I placed it around Corey, and sat him down with my arm around him. "Corey, what's wrong?" I asked him gingerly not wanting to upset him in anyway. "It's...it's..." he began mumbling, words lost in speed and sobs. "Shh...calm down and take a deep breath. Cameron can you make a hot tea?" I put my hand firmly on his shoulder and the other pulling him closer letting him rest his head on my shoulder. When Cameron brought the tea back he passed it to Corey smiling and sat on the chair right in front of us so that we could all talk. We Corey finally calmed down and let all the gasping slow to an easy breathing he looked at us. "Now Corey, what happened?" I looked at him leaving my arm around his shoulder and placing a hand on his knee. "This afternoon when I was supposed to meet you my brother caught up with me before I could leave." He looked down at the cup in his hands. "So what did he say to make you upset?" I asked carefully. "Well he saw us together, and said that he didn't want me near you again. He didn't want me to ever even see you again." I looked at him questioningly and not understanding what his brother would have against me. I didn't even know his brother...? "What does your brother have against me?" I said it and Corey shrugged. "Ayden," Cameron touched my shoulder. "Corey's brother is Ben East." This news hit me like a ton of bricks; I had fallen in love with the brother of my arch enemy at this school. And apparently to get back at me he found out that we were talking and decide to end it. "Well how come you came here in the rain?" Cameron sounded more caring now that he had his knowledge out in the open. "Well he held me there for a couple of hours until he decided that I wouldn't leave. And then when he left, at first I didn't want to leave, and I realized that I needed to run. So I went out and began to run, feeling like he was watching me and plus it was raining. So that's how I ended up in tears and at your door. I didn't know where else to turn?" He put his head down again and a tear fell down to the cup. "You will stay here tonight, and we will talk more tomorrow" I took him up and led him to the bathroom, handed him a towel and told him I would bring him something to put on. I left and grabbed a pair of my boxers, my sleep pants and a tee-shirt. I walked into the bathroom expecting to see him standing waiting for me. He was standing there, in his soaked underwear when I walked in. He turned and blushed as I set the clothes on the counter. "I hope you feel better after your shower." I smiled. "I already feel much better thanks to you." He walked over and put his arms around me and hugged me, in a great hug that you would give someone you loved dearly or respected greatly. I returned the hug and felt the contour of his muscled back for the first time. And I felt horrible as I became excited, and left as I glanced him sliding his underwear down, with his back side toward me. I saw his sculpted butt, and his tan that was obviously natural that went down his smooth cheeks. His legs were runners legs that were sculpted and dusted with brown hair. I shut the door. When I walked back into the common I sat next to Cameron who was reading. "You tried to tell me Cam, I know that, and I'm sorry." "Actually I didn't tell you because you love him, and I didn't tell you because I love you. You are closer now then any brother could have been." He looked at me over glasses as I laid my head down on his shoulder. "You are my brother Cam, and I thank you for trying to protect me, but I do think I love him, but it came on so fast." I said as I looked out the window. There was a raping at the door. I looked at Cameron again this time in fear. He looked at me and gestured toward my room. I walked off and shut the door quietly closing my self and Corey inside this room. The shower was still running so I knew that he was safe in the bathroom. I kept the door opened a bit so I could keep the conversation in hearing range. From what I could hear I didn't like. "Where is he?" said a strange voice. "My roommate, he's asleep why?" said Cameron calmly. "Not your roommate fag, my brother. I know he's here." Ben said with his nasty attitude. "I haven't seen your brother, but if I do I'll tell him you're looking for him, good night." Cameron tried to shut the door I had walked out to where I could see but stay unseen. Ben knocked the door back up pushing Cameron to the floor. Ben looked around and as he heard the shower running he came toward my room. I stepped from my corner baring his way. "You are not welcome in my room or my dorm, now leave." I said strongly. He laughed. "Ha get out of my way twerp." He stepped toward me and put a hand on my arm to push me to the side, I gripped he wrist and twisted using the same move I had on the Dean. Ben twisted around and being a wrestler grabbed my ankle pulling me off my feet, but if there was one thing I had learned from my father, it was best to fight unfairly. So I kicked him, where it counted. He dropped to his knees gasping and Cameron and I proceeded to drag him out of the dorm locking the door. Cameron and I said our good nights and went back to our rooms smiling. Sitting down on my bed I placed my head in my hands, and closed my eyes tight. I never noticed the shower being off or the door slowly opening. "You ok?" Corey's voice lifted my head as his hand touched my shoulder. "Yea, just tired, your brother was just here." I said not wanting to lie to Corey. "Oh my gosh, is he still here?" He looked frantic and almost backed over the nightstand. My clothes looked a little big on him but he filled the majority of them out pretty nice. I grabbed his hand and pulled him gently down to the bed to sit next to me, he came and I stopped him at the door. "He may or may not know you're here but he won't be coming back into this dorm easily." "Did you hurt him?" he looked up at me almost uncaring. "Not badly, but I do think he will loose a couple of chances at babies." He smiled at my comment understanding the gist. I stood up and looked at him taking a pillow and a blanket off my bed. "You take the bed I'll sleep on the floor, staying close by just incase." I smiled at him, and he looked sad. "No, that's stupid you can sleep up here there is room." He looked like he really wanted me to not just out of comfort, but for his own comfort. I obliged for personal reasons as well as his own comfort. I laid the pillow back down on the bed and crawled against the wall, Corey laid back down facing me, we talked for a few moments about the days events, as he thanked me for everything. "It's really no big deal, all in a days work for someone I...l...like." I didn't want to scare him off in any form. He smiled at me with a curious meaning behind it. "Like? You like me?" He grinned devilishly. "Well in one fashion or another." I smiled back with a smirk. "Well what ever you feel toward me I'm sure the feeling is very mutual." I knew exactly what he meant; he felt the same for me. But I still didn't want to press the issue. But he did. He gently leaned forward and pecked me on the cheek, I'm sure I blushed but it was too dark to tell. He rolled over and matched his body to mine scooting back so that he was cradled in my body. I gently laid my arm over him and he cuddled it gently. He laid there slowly breathing, deep and smooth. We lay like that for a while neither of us wanted to move, I felt better then I had in a long time and he felt safe.
