Chapter 16: Freedom

I exhaled softly across his cheek as he gently chewed on my bottom lip. Our tongues dancing together beautifully, as we lost ourselves in the passion of the moment. He reached out and caressed the back of my neck with his slender fingers, moving upwards through my long, dark hair. I humped against him, causing his hips to lift up off the bed to meet my rhythm.

He broke the lip lock and kissed his way down my chin, before he attacked my neck. I cooed as he sucked on my tender skin, his teeth nibbling against me, sending my nerves into overdrive. I gripped his head tightly, running my fingers through his silky, dark blond locks, drawing him closer. He felt amazing in my arms, it was where he belonged; where he should always be. I wanted to taste him again, so I shifted on the bed and cocked my head, lining up his lips to mine.

He moaned softly as we kissed again, my tongue entering his mouth. I could feel his erection pressing against mine, wanting to be freed. He humped up to me again, pulling me closer, his hands roaming my back. I was burning up, sweating, panting. One week was stored between my legs, begging to be released. I kissed Jamie harder. I needed him to free me, release me, cure me.

He flipped me over on my back, his steely greys diving in my ocean blues. I widened my legs as I reached out, pulling his head down to mine. I let my hands fall from his face, across his back, before slipping them under his boxers, cupping his ass. He humped against me, my cock throbbing madly at his touch. He was pushing me closer and closer. I could feel it slowly building up from m-

“Jamie! Jamie, can you come down here!” Called out Sam from downstairs.

He quickly pulled his lips from me and hovered over my face for a second as he listened intently.

After a few seconds of silence, I craned my neck forwards.

“Jamie!” Came Sam’s voice again, causing me to stop inches from his lips.

Jamie sat up and faced he door, “What?!” He shouted back. His irritation evident in his voice.

“Mom’s on the phone! Hurry!!!” She called out.

He sighed heavily and climbed off the bed, taking a glance back at me, “I’ll be back in a minute.” He said, as he rearranged the tent in his trousers, “Just…erm…stay there.”

If I wasn’t so horned up I’d have laughed at that, but in my current state, I just nodded at him as I caught my breath. He turned, walking out of the room. I sat up and stared at my aching boner tenting in my trousers. I groaned aloud. I was so close to blowing my load. Just a few more minutes, hell, one minute longer would have done it! I flopped back onto the bed and suddenly recalled the conversation that happened not ten-minutes ago when Jamie and I were saying that we weren’t ready to jump back into sex again, after getting caught last time. I giggled as I lay there. I guess we couldn’t last after all. Well, it was only supposed to be a few kisses, but one thing led to another…I smiled again, feeling my cock expand slightly at my thoughts.

I waited for another minute or so, before I stood up off the bed. My erection had all but subsided, yet I could feel the cool sticky mess in my underwear. I needed some tissues. More to the point, I had to see where Jamie had gotten to. I headed over towards his door and made my way downstairs, just as I heard the front door open. I walked down the last flight, to see Jamie standing near the door, as his dad’s car reversed in the driveway.

He turned to me, giving me a ‘sorry’ look, “Erm, they wanted me to help carry the stuff in. Sorry.”

I nodded, “That’s fine.” I said, as the car came to a stop and turned off.

Jamie walked forward and opened the boot, or
trunk, as he would say. I slipped on my shoes and went out. There wasn’t that many bags that needed to be taken inside, but they were quite heavy. I watched as Noah stepped out of the car, closing the door.

“Hi Noah.” I called out, as I picked up some bags.

He faced me, “Hi Matt, how are you?”

I smiled, “I’m ok thanks. How are you?” I asked, taking a quick glance at Sue, as she closed her door.

“I’m fine.” He replied, “You don’t have to carry that.” He said, pointing to the bags.

I shook my head, “It’s ok.” I said, as Sue approached me. Her eyes connected with mine. While she was coping with Jamie’s sexuality, it was clear that she was still a bit away from accepting me as his boyfriend. Before she knew about Jamie and I, she was always warm and kind, always quick to say how nice I was for befriending Jamie in a foreign country. So I knew she didn’t dislike me for how I acted, but more because of who I was. I gave her a small smile, “Hi.” I said softly.

She gave me a smile back, “Hi.” She said, before Jamie nudged me on the arm.

“Come on, lets get this stuff inside.” He said, seemingly unaware of the brief communication between us.

I faced him and followed, but not before I glanced over my shoulder at Sue, who was now facing away from me. Seeing that her attention was elsewhere, I turned around and followed Jamie back into the house. I carried the bags into the kitchen, where I placed them on the floor.

“Do you want me to help put stuff away?” I asked.

Jamie shook his head, “No, they like putting it away, throwing out the old stuff…” He trailed off, “I leave them to do it.”

I nodded at him as I heard the front door close.

“Something smells good.” Remarked Noah as he walked in. He put the bags on the counter and surveyed the food, “Are you staying for dinner, Matt?” He asked.

I shook my head, “Erm, no. I’m eating at Connor’s house.” I said, as it occurred to me that Noah didn’t know about that just yet.

He nodded, “That’s fine, but you’re welcome here.” He said, before he turned to me, “How’s things at your end anyway?” He asked, as Sue walked in.

I didn’t really want to get into too many details with his mum about, so I kept it brief, “I’m ok. Just same as usual.” I said.

Noah looked at me, “What about your parents, if you don’t mind me asking?”

I glanced at Sue again, who had begun to pack things away, but I knew she was listening, “Erm, it’s kind of messed up a bit.” I said, “But it’s all sorted now.” I added quickly, not making much sense.

“What do you mean? Has something happened?”

“I…erm…” I looked at Noah, “I’m not living at home. I’m staying at Connor’s house.”

Noah frowned, “They kicked you out, again?”

I shook my head, “Not exactly.” I paused, “They wanted me to stop…” I glanced at Jamie, “Seeing Jamie. I told them that I couldn’t do that, so I left.”

He thought for a moment, “How long do you plan on staying at Connor’s house?”

I shrugged, “I told my parents that I’ll come home once they’re ready to have me back…So I don’t know how long that’ll be.”

He frowned again, “I’m really sorry to hear that, Matt.” He paused, “If there’s anything that I can do to help out, you know you can ask.” He looked at Jamie, “And you’ll always be welcome here. If you just want to hang out or if you want to stay over or something…”

I smiled, “Thanks, Noah.”

“You’re not a bad kid Matt.” He said, before he looked at Jamie and me, “Neither of you are. It’s just very unfair that you’re being treated like this.”

I just nodded at him, unsure of what to say.

“Do you want us to do anything, or can we…” Said Jamie, looking at his Dad.

Noah shook his head, “No you guys can go off.” He looked at the clock,
6:02, “We’ll be eating at half-six.” He said, before he looked at me, “And remember, you can eat here if you want.”

“Thanks, but I’ve already told Connor’s parents that I’m eating there.”

He nodded, “Ok then. I’ll see you later, Matt.”

“Yeah, see ya.” I said, before I followed Jamie up to his room. We walked inside and sat down next to each other on his bed. He stared at me for a second before he broke out in a smile, “I’m sorry about earlier…I didn’t mean to leave you…us like that.”

I blushed, “Erm yeah…don’t worry about it.” I looked at him, “We’ll…erm…another time.”

“Continue?” He asked, looking at me closely.

I looked into his eyes, “Yeah.” I paused, “Soon though.”

He giggled, “Soon.” He confirmed, before he climbed on and leaned against the headboard. I crawled on next to him, as we glanced at the TV.

“How old were you when you
knew?” He asked.

I frowned, confused, “Knew?”

“That you were gay?”

“Oh, erm about thirteen.” I paused, “What about you?”

He nodded, “About the same, perhaps around twelve.”

“Yeah…” I said, as I thought for a moment, before I faced him, “Jamie? Do you feel…happier, now that you’re out?”

He was silent for a few seconds, “Yeah, a bit.”

“Yeah?”

He nodded, “It just feels...” He smiled, “Better, like I can be free, you know?” He replied, before he frowned, “I’m sorry.”

“What for?”

“All you’ve had is crap since you came out. I didn’t mean to rub it in.”

I shook my head, “I asked you the question. I just wanted to know if it’s all as good as it’s hyped up to be.”

He looked at me, “How do you feel? Being out?”

“Worse than before.”

He frowned.

“I’m not hiding it anymore, so that part doesn’t feel so bad, but there’s still other stuff that’s going on in its place.”

“I want you to be happy.”

I smiled at him, “I am, when I’m here, with you.”

“Not just here. I want you to be happy everywhere. At home…at school.”

“School?”

He nodded.

I thought for a few seconds, my stomach making its presence felt, “Do you want to come out at school?” I asked calmly.

“No.”

I exhaled gently.

“Do you?” He asked.

“No.”

He was silent for a moment, “Do you ever think about it?” He asked.

I nodded, “Sometimes.” I turned to him, “I just…It’ll be really hard.” I said.

Jamie squeezed my hand, “Hey, don’t worry about it, no one is coming out at school, ok?

I nodded and smiled at him. We sat there for a few seconds before my phone vibrated in my pocket, causing us both to jump at the feeling. We giggled once we knew what it was, as I reached down and pulled it out.

“It’s a text.” I said, as I read the message, “Dinner’s ready in five.” I read aloud, before I looked at Jamie, “I guess I’d better head over.”

He nodded, “Sure.”

After a couple of minutes, I found myself downstairs at Jamie’s door, when he mentioned something about Friday.

I cocked my head, “Friday? What’s happening on Friday?”

He looked at me, “You’re kidding, right?”

I shook my head, “No, what’s happening?”

“Connor’s Birthday.”

I frowned, “His Birthday is on Friday, but we’re going out on Saturday.”

“Erm, no, it’s all happening on Friday.” He fished into his pocket, retrieving his phone. “Look.” He said, as he flicked through the calendar, showing the date to me. Sure enough it was the day after tomorrow, this Friday.

“Wow.” I said, looking at the date, “Jeez, I totally thought it was a Saturday.”

He put the phone in his pocket, “That’s why you have me. To remind you about these things, dear.”

I smiled, “I can think of a few other reasons. Maybe I should make a list.”

He nodded, “Sounds good.” He replied, before he kissed me lightly in his hallway.

Once he pulled back I quickly glanced around, checking that Sue wasn’t about.

He giggled, “Relax. It’s my house too. I can kiss my boyfriend goodnight if I want.”

My heart swelled at that.

“I love you, Matt.” He said, as he squeezed my hand.

I squeezed him back, “I love you, Jamie. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.” He replied, as he opened the door.

I stepped out and headed down his path.

“See you tomorrow, at school.”

I nodded, “Yeah, see ya.”

*

School was, as expected, uneventful for the day. In the run up before the exams in the summer, it seemed that everything was just the same: revision of the topics we’d studied for the past two years. Of course this was invaluable to Jamie, as he hadn’t covered most of the stuff that we had. But he was a wise and wonderful boyfriend, he easily picked up the new stuff.

After school I headed over to Jamie’s house straight away, before going to Connor’s house. The reason being that we had to wrap and sign his cards and present. Once we were inside his room, Jamie presented me with some wrapping paper and the game for Connor.

“Do you want me to wrap it?” I asked.

“If you want to.” He said, as he headed over to his wardrobe.

I nodded and set about cutting a right amount of paper for the game, well, it all began well before I glanced over at Jamie while he was getting undressed. He’d taken off his trousers and was standing there in his black socks and his white shirt. My eyes focused in on his long, smooth legs before they settled on his pert ass. I watched as he hooked his fingers under the hem of his shirt, and pulled it over his head. I started to feel a rise in my boxers. Jamie turned to look at me, but I quickly looked down at the paper and continued to cut through it.

Jamie giggled, “I thought you were a little quiet there.” He said.

“I was just thinking.” I replied quickly.

“Oh? About what?” He asked, as he slipped on a new shirt.

I gazed at his boxer covered ass again. The tight white material flashing off his tasty rear end, “Nothing important.” I replied.

“Hmm…” He said knowingly, as he pulled some trousers on.

With the show over, I concentrated back at the job at hand, finding that not only had I cut a too small a piece of the paper, but that it wasn’t a straight cut at all. Jamie walked over and looked at it. I glanced up at his face, watching how he bit his bottom lip from laughing out.

“I…erm.” I handed him the scissors, “Perhaps you should...”

He took them from me and picked up a new piece of paper, before he burst out in laughter.

I blushed madly, screwing up the piece I messed up.

“You’re hopeless!” He said, in between giggles.

I looked up at him, “You’re just a tease!” I retorted.

He shook his head and sat down, “You should’ve kept that paper. Would’ve made a great story for tomorrow night.” He said, giggling again.

“What?!” I said, smiling at him, “I can’t help it when you’re all…hot and stuff.” I said, giving him the sexiest look I could muster, and to my surprise, he broke eye contact and blushed cutely.

After we
finally managed to get the cards and present wrapped and signed, we decided that it’d be best for Jamie to keep them with him, rather than risk Connor finding them. So with that sorted out, Jamie and I headed back over to Connor’s house.

We walked up the path and knocked on the door. We waited a few seconds before Adam opened it. He stared at Jamie and me for a moment and grinned.

“Hi guys.” He said, as he pushed the door open fully.

“Hey, you alright, mate?” I asked.

He nodded, “Yeah.”

“Hey buddy.” Called out Jamie, as he pressed his fist against Adam’s.

“Hi, Jamie.” He replied, somewhat timidly.

I smiled at the interaction. While Jamie and Adam hadn’t really had that much to do with each other during the last few months, it was after Adam found out about Jamie’s ‘skills’ at rounders did the two really strike it off. You see, while Adam didn’t really care for sports, he was a somewhat closeted fan of rounders. So after Connor told him about Jamie on the field the day before, he spent much of his break and lunch talking to Jamie about baseball and stuff. Of course I was more of a soccer guy, so I didn’t pay that much attention, but with Adam about, that also meant that Josh would be about to, so it was a benefit for me as I could see how he was doing. And how he was coping with me not living at home.

“Is Connor about?” I asked.

Adam nodded, “He’s upstairs.”

“And Josh?”

“He’s outside the back with me.” He replied, as he looked up at Jamie, “We’re hitting some balls about and stuff…” He said trailing off.

I raised an eyebrow and turned to Jamie, “I think that was an invitation.”

“Huh?” Asked Jamie, “Oh, I don’t wanna…” He said, as though he didn’t want to ‘abandon me’ but I could tell he was
itching at the chance to throw a ball about.

“No, go on. Show them how it’s done.” I said.

Jamie smiled and turned to Adam, “You want me to show you how I whipped Matt’s ass?”

Adam giggled, “Yeah, please.”

I feigned an angry look, “And once you’re done with that. Perhaps you could show Jamie how to kick a ball.”

Jamie pretended to ignore me and followed Adam down the hall to the back garden, or
yard as he’d say. But once Adam had vanished from sight, Jamie turned around and gave me the finger, mouthing the word, ‘Bitch.

I shook my head and beckoned him with my hands, mouthing, ‘
Bring it on.

He winked at me before he turned and jogged out to go play with the guys.

I quickly slipped off my shoes and headed up the stairs. I knocked on Connor’s door.

“Come in.” He called out, so I opened the door but froze for a second when I looked inside and saw Max sitting next to him on the bed. I watched as their eyes moved from the TV to me. Everything was silent for a moment.

“Umm, hey.” I called out, as I walked inside.

Connor looked from Max to me, it was clear that he was wondering where this could go.

“I’d better go.” Said Max, as he climbed off the bed, and walked towards the door, “See ya, Con.”

But I wasn’t about to let him go that easily. I reached out and grabbed his arm, “Max.”

I felt his firm muscles tense under my grip, his blue eyes focusing on me, but I didn’t let go.

“Max, we need to talk.” I glanced out at the hallway, letting go of his arm, “Close the door.” I said, as I watched him closely.

Max hovered there for a second, before he closed the door, leaning against it, facing away from us. We were silent for a few seconds, but Max sighed heavily, breaking the silence, “What do you want from me, Matt?”

“I want my friend back.” I stared at the back of his blond head, “Max, look at me.”

He hesitated for a second, but finally turned around, his eyes setting on mine. I looked closely at him. He didn’t seem angry, or frustrated. He seemed confused.

“Connor said you’re living here.” He said.

“Yeah.”

“How long for?”

“Don’t know.” I looked at him, “I guess until
they want me back.”

“Do they hate you?”

I thought for a moment, “They hate that I’m gay.”

His eyes drifted to the floor, “I can’t…I just can’t…” He said, shaking his head, “You’re different now.”

I leaned closer, “Max, I always have been different. I just used to hide it from you and everyone else.”

“But now I know.”

I nodded, “Yeah, you do.” I frowned, “I know it’s not easy, but I’m asking you to try to understand.”

“It’s hard.”

“What are you so afraid of? Do you not want to be seen with a gay guy? Is that it?”

He remained silent for a few seconds, “I don’t care what people think.” He said. But I knew Max better than that. It
did bother him.

“Or are you worried about me, are you scared that I might just jump on you, try to have sex with you or something?”

He glared at me, “I’m not scared of you.” He sneered, making it came off as more of a threat, rather than a statement.

“I don’t want you to be scared of me, Max.” I said, making him look at me, “I am gay. That doesn’t make me a bad person.” I paused, “Or someone who’s looking for sex twenty-four-seven. That’s just not me.”

“I know.” He said.

“Then what is it? What bothers you so much?”

He was silent for a moment, “You lied to me.”

I frowned, “What? When?”

He looked at me, “You never told me…” He glanced at Connor, “You never told us.”

“I never told you because I was scared of how you’d react.” I paused, “Look at what happened when you found out.”

“You were kissing a guy for god’s sake!” He called out.

I shook my head, “So if I just told you, you would have reacted alright with it?”

He was quiet again, “It wouldn’t have been so bad.”

“But what would have happened when you finally saw me kissing a guy, what then?”

“I don’t know.” He paused, “But I would have known that you were gay.”

I walked over to the bed and sat down, “I’m sorry that I lied to you.” I said, glancing at Connor, “I’m sorry I lied to both of you. I didn’t mea-“

“No, you don’t have to be sorry.” Replied Connor, “You done nothing wrong.” He said looking at Max, “It was none of our business.”

“But he’s supposed to be our friend. How can we trust him when he lies?” Asked Max.

Connor shook his head, “How can I trust you to keep your mouth quiet once you find something out?” He said, referencing Max’s outburst in front of my parents.

Max became quiet again, “I didn’t mean to do that.”

I sighed, “I know.” I looked at him, “Max, all I want is for us to be friends again, like how we used to.” I glanced at Connor, “And like it or not, no one is perfect. We all make mistakes.” I paused, “We just have to see past them, learn from them, and move on.” I looked at Max, “Can we move on Max, can we start fresh?”

He studied the floor intently, thinking to himself for several minutes before he looked up at me, his eyes setting on mine, “Ok.”
