Scene A

"It hurts! It hurts so bad!"

Images of a boy standing on top of a building flashed through my head.

"Nobody cares. Nobody gives a fuck."

"What are you doing?" I asked him. "What are you about to do?"

"I'm about to end it all," He said with a despondent voice.

He made a move to jump off the ledge.

"No!" I screamed out.

I reached my hand to grab him, to pull him to me.

"What the hell?" A voice that was not the boy's voice said.

I snapped out of my daze as I realized I was sitting in my second period English class.

"Oh my god! Braye, I am so sorry," I said, as she stared me down with an angry look on her face.

"Mr. Mckenzie, I ignored the fact that you were sleeping in my class as you weren't disturbing anybody or anything," Ms. Turner said walking back towards where I was sitting at. "Now you are disturbing Ms. Bisking and I can't ignore that."

"He grabbed my hair," She said rubbing her head. "After I spent like 2 hours straightening it and everything."

"Braye, again I am sorry," I said to her. "I was just...dreaming and I..."

"Wasn't paying attention to my lecture," Ms. Turner said with a stern look on her face. "Why weren't you paying attention, Devin?"

I clutched my head. I don't know why but I was feeling angry all of a sudden. Like out of nowhere, I just felt a rush of anger hit me.

"God! She is always bitching at somebody, I wish she would shut up," I heard somebody say but it was as if it was inside my head.

"God! You are always bitching at somebody, I wish you would shut up," I said, not able to stop myself from speaking.

I covered my mouth in shock while everyone in the classroom looked at me mouths agape.

"Oh, my...Ms. Turner...I didn't mean that," I said unsure of what was going on.

Why did I just say that? Why was I feeling intense anger towards her? It wasn't like I hated her but I felt hatred towards her?

"But you said it," She said walking back towards her desk.

"Because you are a bitch," I heard the voice say again.

"Because you are a bitch," I said and she looked up from the form she was filling out for me to go to the principal.

"Congratulations Devin, I'm almost positive that you brought yourself a week long vacation at home," She said as she continued filling the write-up out.

I started laughing. I felt amused for some reason but why. I tried to stop laughing but it was like I was not under my own control.

"God, you are such a bitch," I said, between laughs. "You sit here talking about pointless shit that nobody cares about. Let's talk about the fact of how they should revoke your license. Nobody learns anything. We only past because we cheat."

I wasn't thinking that. Something was wrong here. Thoughts. Emotions. These were not mine.

Ms. Turner walked up to me and handed me my write-up form. "I will have your homework assignments sent to you via email. Please, remove yourself from my classroom."

I looked at her shocked. I had never been in trouble before, not to this degree. Mainly for a tardy here and there but I usually always got out of detention most of the time.

I grabbed my backpack and placed it on my back and headed to the door. As I past this boy named Brett, I got this vibe from him.

He was pleased with me.

"Way to go, Devin," He thought to himself. "That's exactly what I wanted to say to the bitch man."

I looked him in the eye and he flashed me a small smile and nodded and went back to his binder he was scribbling in.

"What is going on with me?" I thought to myself.

Scene B

"Devin Mckenzie," Principal Tate said as I sat in his office. "I am shocked to see you in here. You are usually a more well-behaved student. But according to this slip...You called your English teacher a bitch? Insulted her skills as a teacer."

"I am so sorry," I said on the verge of tears. "I seriously, don't know what is going on with me this morning. I just...I felt compelled to say that."

He looked at me with a strange look on his face. "Why would you feel compelled to speak that to an adult, especially you're teacher?"

I sighed and looked at the ground. "I don't know," I said confused. "I just couldn't help it."

"Well, it looks like even the brightest black student here at the school is still your typical bad student," Pricinpal Tate though to himself. "Just like the rest of his race."

"Hey," I said offended by that commented. "That was racist."

He looked at me confused. "What was racist?"

"What you just said," I replied to him angrily. "It's things like that hinder walls being broken down and promote hate."

"Devin, I didn't say anything," He said looking confused.

"This kid is weird."

I heard him say it. But his mouth didn't move. Why can I hear him if his mouth didn't move? It was like I could hear him in my head.

Like I could read his mind.

"I am going to suspend you for the remaining four days of the week," He said to me as he scribbled something on a paper. "Now, I will not put this on your permanent record...If you write Ms. Turner an apology."

Was I seriously believing I was reading minds? That was not possible.

"Devin? Are you listening?" He asked snapping his fingers in front of my face.

"Yes...sorry, you are suspending me for the rest of the week," I said standing up. "Write an apology to Ms. Turner...Prevent from going on permanent record. I understand."

Principal Tate handed me my forms. "Head to In-School-Suspension for the remainder of the day and your suspension starts at the end of the school day. You will return this coming up Monday."

I nodded and walked towards the door.

"Nice ass."

I turned and looked back at him. He was scribbling away at something. He looked up from what he was doing.

"Is there something the matter?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.

"Everything is fine," I said forcing a small smile.

I quickly got out of his office and headed towards the room where ISS was held at. I just wanted this day to be over so I could home and get some rest.

"Sleep," I muttered to myself. "That's probably what I need. Sleep is now my best friend.

I climbed down the stairs and wheeled around and bumped into somebody causing all our books to fall.

"I'm sorry," I said scrambling to pick our bocks as fast I could. "I wasn't paying attention."

"It's okay, man," He said and I finally looked up at him.

It was the guy that was about to jump of the ledge.

"Oh my god," I whispered as he got up.

"Well, I better get to class," He said flashing me a warm smile.

However, I was getting anything but warmth from my vibe I was getting from him. He was full of sorrow.

I watched as he walked down the hall.

"This is to fucking creepy," I said to myself, unsure of what was happening to me.

Scene B

Tyler Magana sat in his father's office awaiting him to come back for a lunch date that was supposed to happen over 2 hours ago.

Luckily, he had a free pass out of school so waiting didn't really matter to him if he had to wait. He was bored though.

Evan Magana, his father, was a geneticist who specialized in Human genetics. Tyler himself was pretty smart and planned on following in his father's footsteps. They often researched and discussed things that Evan wanted to get an opinion on.

Curiously, Tyler walked around his father's office and a black binder with the labeling of Project Evolution on it's spine.

"Hmm, never heard of this project before," He said to himself as he pulled it down.

He flipped through the binder and noticed pictures of various people that were apparently unconscious as they were experimented on.

"Telempath," He said as he came to the page with the word in bold letters.

Telempath, empaths as they are commonly called, are people with the ability to feel and often influence the emotions of others. Naturally, telepathy which stems from reading and influencing thoughts of others are used together enabling them with almost total control of Mental states of others. They are highly dangerous and if powerful enough are able to cause extreme damage to the brain or even death.

Side-effects of this mutation often stems from headaches and blackouts if they are not able to block out the emotions and thoughts of those around them and often times not able to differentiate between their own and others emotions and thoughts, they tend to act on these causing great confusion in themselves as well as others.

"Wow, sounds cool," Tyler said flipping through the binder before he stopped on a page with his father.

Evan Magana, brilliant geneticist from North America, is one-fourth of the dynamic team that has conducted these experiments for over 20 years Although, it should be stated that these experiments did not begin with him, he found ways of affecting the mutation of babies before they were even in the fetal stage and mothers were aware they were actually apart of his experiments. In the early stages of Project Evolution, Magana and co. were able to somehow speed the maturity of infants. Children as early as 8 months, were able to speak at the level of a 2 year old toddler. By the age of 2, children were able to speak at the level of an average adult as well as perform motor skills that are highly advanced for this age. While the results he received from the experimentation were considered failures as he wanted to give humans the chance of evolving into something not seen yet, he is a world-renowned doctor and has received many accolades for his accomplishments.

"What are you doing?" A voiced asked snapping him out of his thoughts.

Tyler looked up to see his father standing there looking angry.

"Dad, what is Project Evolution?" Tyler asked him. "What is a telempath?"

Evan Magana sighed of annoyance and walked over to his desk and took the binder away from his son.

"You know, I have always respected your maturity, Tyler," He said as he placed the binder back on his shelf. "Which is why I include you in some of the things I do because you are a mature and bright young man. However, reading and snooping through my things is not maturity. I thought we raised you better than this, young man."

Tyler sighed. "I know dad but I was...curious, which I know is no excuse," He said disappointed in himself but he really wanted to know now. "Can you please tell me what Project Evolution is? Because from reading what I read, it seems like you were doing something illegal."

"Son, perhaps it's time for you to leave," Evan said to his son. "We can reschedule our lunch plans for later in the week, if you would like."

"Why were you experimenting on unsuspecting pregnant women?" Tyler asked him. "What were you looking to accomplish."

"Tyler..."

"Dad, I want to know," He said getting angry. "You speak to me about ethics of being a snoop through your things well what you were doing and are doing is not ethical. It's wrong."

"I don't do that anymore, Son," He said with a sigh. "Look Tyler, I will walk you to the elevator."

Tyler followed his father out of the office. "Dad, tell me what is going on," He said in a hushed whisper. "Don't treat me like I am some child or I swear I will show you how much of a child I can be, and I will throw the biggest tantrum here in the middle of this lobby."

Evan pressed the button to call for the elevator and walked inside, with Tyler following behind him. Evan pressed the stop button causing the elevator to stop on the middle of the two floors.

"Dad..." Tyler began but was cut off as his father grabbed him by the collar and slammed up against the elevator doors.

"There are things that I have done since you before you were born that I want and I am trying to make amends for," He said breathing hard. "Yes, I was apart of an organization that conducted illegal and unethical experiments on unknowing pregnant women. We were trying to create a vast superior of human with a higher level of advancements than the everyday human. However, I eventually begin seeing the error in my ways and I left Project Evolution alone and gave up my part in it. The experimentation has since ceased when the results we were trying to achieve were never coming from these experimentation."

Evan released his son and allowed him to fix himself and pressed the button to operate the elevator to continue moving.

"Dad...what kind of results were you trying to get?" Tyler asked him. He had a feeling but he wanted to hear it for himself.

Evan sighed in aggravation. "We were trying to create superior humans with superior abilities," he explained. "Like telempaths and many other sublevels that we had named and created. We were trying to create weapons."

Tyler looked at his father shocked. He had a feeling that was what these experiments were dangerous and had a feeling of why.

"Did you ever experiment on me?" Tyler asked him.

Evan shook his head, face full of disgust. "I would never use my own child, my only child for experimentation."

"It's good you have standards then, Dad," Tyler said ashamed of his father.

The elevator opened and Tyler walked out bumping into somebody on his way out in anger.

"I'm sorry," Evan said to the boy. "He is a little upset about something. He didn't mean to be rude."

"It's okay," The boy said with a smile. "Ah, I am here to see Evan Magana."

"Um..That would be me," Evan said, a little confused. "I wasn't aware I had any meetings today."

The boy pressed the stop button and turned to face Evan.

"Oh, this meeting is a spur of the moment kinda of thing," He said as his forehead begin to glow.

"Wha..." Evan began but before he had a chance to finish a beam hit him in the head.

Evan screamed out in pain. He felt like he was literally melting.

"In a few moments, you will be dead as your brain will be fried," He said to evan who was writhing in pain. "You know, I want to thank you for what you did to my mother seventeen years ago. Because you helped make me what I am today. Here's your thanks."

One more blast and Evan was dead.

"The smell of fried brains," He said to himself. "Gotta love it."

Scene C

"Dev, baby I can't believe you got suspended for cussing out a teacher," Bruce my boyfriend said into the phone.

I stood in the middle of the bathroom talking to him. "Bruce...Is there...Have you ever felt a time where you felt like...not like yourself?"

Bruce got silent for a moment.

"Babe?" I called out. "You still there?"

Bruce heard voices outside his apartment door.

"Devin, call me when you get out of school," He said before he hung up the cell.

He took a step back as he heard a knock on the door. Not sure what to do, he took off running towards the backyard.

He was soon met with a big guy looking at him with a deadly look. He turned to see that the other end was blocked as well.

"Where you going so fast, Brucie? The bald goon asked him. "We just want to talk?"

"Look, just leave me alone," He said nervously. "I don't want to be apart of this gang anymore. I just want to be left alone. No trouble."

"Well, see you trying to run after you gave your oath that you were with us for life is trouble," He said taking a step towards Bruce. "Trouble for you anyways."

He charged at Bruce who panicked and closed his eyes. After a few seconds with nothing happening, he opened his eyes to find that he was no longer standing in between the two but a great distance away.

"Ha, it worked," He said with a smile.

He stuck his hand out.

"What the hell?" The Bald guy asked, confused at how Bruce changed places without even taking a step.

"Knife," Bruce said as a Knife appeared in his hand. He threw the knife hard at the bald guy which hit him in the throat.

The other guy made a move to run but Bruce reached his hand out.

"Goon," He said as he saw the goon disappear. Swinging, his hand hard, the goon reappeared as he smashed into a tree, killing him.

Bruce looked down at his hand. "God, I love being me sometimes."

He looked at the two dead men sitting his backyard.

"Now what do I do with you guys?" He asked himself.

Scene D

"I'm still shocked to see you in here," A guy said to me as we stood in the lunch line getting the scraps of food after all the other lunches had finished lunch. "Aren't you like the rich kid who never does any wrong."

"That would be me," I said with a sigh.

"What did you do to get in here?" He asked me. "Me, I was skipping class for like two weeks. They would've suspended me probably but that pretty much defeats the purpose so they stick me in this hell hole for all 8 hours of the school day. What's your story, derick?"

"It's Devin," I corrected him. "And I wasn't being myself and I just...I acted out of character and I got put here and suspended for the rest of the week."

"Total bad ass," The guy said patting me on the back. "I like that."

"Not to mention you are hot," He thought to himself.

"What did you say?" I asked him as I looked around.

He looked at me confused. "I didn't say anything, man," He said reaching for the last bit of fries.

I loved french fries. It was the only thing I ate at lunch on a daily basis and he was going to more than likely take all the fries there.

I pictured worms in my head trying to somehow convince myself I didn't want the fries.

"Oh shit, there are worms in this food," He screamed out suddenly throwing his tray to the ground.

I looked at him confused as everybody around us was trying to figure out what was going on. I think I just projected my thought onto him.

"How?" I asked myself.

"This hurts," I heard a voice call out. "God, I just want to end it all."

It was the guy from earlier. The one from my dream. While they tried to calm him down, I went out in search of the boy.

I walked outside the school building. I clutched my stomach as I felt a sharp pain coming from stomach as if somebody were kicking me in it.

I saw the boy...being beat up by three other guys.

"Hey!" I Called out catching their attention.

They smirked at each other and I realized that while I wanted to help the boy, I couldn't take on three boys.

Unless...

I closed my eyes and tried to think something good. Maybe it would work?

What though?

I imagined myself as principal of the school and opened my eyes. I Could feel something in me release and they all froze in their tracks.

"Principal Tate, we were...just messing around," They all stammered out nervously.

It worked. They were totally buying it.

"Get to class," I said to them. "NOW!"

They took off running past me and I headed towards the boy who I could tell was in some serious pain.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked reaching down to grab his hand.

He jerked quickly from me.

"You are going to hurt me too," He said nervously. "Aren't you?"

"Wha...no," I said to him, feeling fear, anger, sorrow...so much pain of his hitting me hard. "I want to help you."

"You can't help me," He said to me. "Only Death Can."

He took off running towards the woods that surrounded our school.

"Come on...Don't run," I yelled out to him but I realized that I Was going to have to follow him in.

He was going to hurt himself if I didn't stop him.

Scene E

Tyler sat in his father's office. He had been crying for the past hour or so. He couldn't believe it but his father was dead. The report was that his brain as fried but he had just seen him and couldn't imagine how it happened so quickly after he had just left him in the elevator. The police had been investigating and allowed him inside to sit in the office.

A thought popped into his head.

"Hold on," He said to himself as he walked over to the shelf where he had found the binder of information about his father.

He looked around but couldn't find it on the shelf.

If his father had died in the elevator right at the last time he saw him, he wouldn't have had a chance to move it out of it's spot...Which meant...

Someone had moved it.

"Looking for this?" A voice asked startling him.

Tyler turned to see a guy standing behind him with the binder in his hand.

"How the hell did you get that?" Tyler asked him. "That was my father's."

"Was being the keyword there," He said with a smile. "I killed your father in the elevator."

Tyler looked shocked. "What..Why...How?"

"Simple," The guy said to him. "Like this."

A light formed in the middle of his forehead and a blast fired right at Tylor.

Tyler quickly ducked out of the way just as the blast hit the shelf and ignited into flames.

"They always have to run," The guy said with a sigh. "You know, it was very rude of you to bump into me without saying sorry."

Tyler had nowhere to run. The door was being blocked by this guy and he had no way of getting out of this alive.

"Please, I don't want any trouble," He said nervously. "Seriously, man just let me go and we will pretend this never happened."

"I just can't do that," The guy said to him.

His face lit up again as he charged one of those flame blast. Tyler knew that this was meant to kill him.

"Please..." He pleaded softly to the guy.

The guy released the blast and fired it at Tyler who threw his hand up out of fear.

Nothing happened. He looked to see that inches from his face the blast just hovered in front of him.

"Shit," He said taking a step back.

Everything around him, the guy included was...frozen.

"Did I do this?" He asked himself.

Unsure, he took off running towards the door just as the scene unfroze.

The guy looked confused as the blast hit the wall and left a singe mark but noticed Tyler running out the door.

"Hey!" He called out as he ran after him.

Tyler dodged blast after blast. He wished that the people in the office hadn't all went home because he needed some help out of this situation.

He spotted the elevator as he ducked another blast. He just had to make it there.

Pressing the button, he ran inside.

"Come on, Come On," He said as the doors narrowly closed just as he heard a blast hit the door

"Thank god," He said to himself as he breathed a sigh of relief.

He knew it wasn't over yet. He still had to make it out of there alive.

He looked around the elevator. The very same elevator that his father had been killed in.

By that guy...

He looked at his hands.

"You told me you didn't experiment on me," He said aloud.

The elevator went from the 2 to the 1 and he knew he was on the ground floor.

The door opened to reveal the guy standing there. Before he had a chance to shoot anything Tyler rammed him hard to the ground and punched him in the face. He grabbed the binder from the guy.

He took off running out the door and to the parking lot where he had parked his car atl

The guy took off after Tyler and fired a blast from his head which hit the ground Tyler was running on causing him to fall.

Tyler looked back and threw his hand up hoping the same affect from earlier would happen. Nothing happened.

"So I see we are similar," The guy said to him. "Cool Power, whatever that was you did back there but looks like it's not working. Well, no need to prolong this..."

His forehead lit up again. Tyler threw his hand up hoping it would happen but it didn't.

A boy appeared out of thin air and grabbed Tyler's hand and together they disappeared together as the blast hit the spa where Tyler was sitting.

"Damn it," The guy said looking around for the two.

Tyler stumbled as he realized he was no longer in the parking lot but what looked like the backside of the building where they were at.

He looked at the guy.

"Who are you?" He asked nervously.

"Bruce aka the guy who saved your life," Bruce said with a laugh. "Relax man, I am not going to hurt you. I was walking nearby and I saw you. But what the hell was that going on? That dude was shooting things out of his head."

"And you just teleported from nowhere," Tyler said trying to shake his near-death experience off. "A lot of things aren't making sense."

"Well, I learned that I could do that a few weeks ago," He explained. "I was thinking about how bad I want to sit in mcdonalds and eat me a big mac and I just...appeared there."

Tyler looked at him with uneasy eyes. That meant there were probably more people out there that shared the same as the attacker and Bruce and...

"Can you do anything? Like special?" Bruce asked him.

Tyler looked down at his hands before shaking his head. "No, I can't. But can you...do that thing and take me back to my car?"

Scene F

I stumbled through the woods and search of the boy I had been getting these visions about. Even now I was getting flashes inside my head, which were allowing me to see exactly what he was seeing as he ran through the forest.

Whatever this was that I could do, was pretty amazing and I was starting to get used to it by now. I could see he was climbing up the stairs of a building that was nearby the school. It was the new library that the city was building that was also apart of my high school.

I took off racing after him and headed up the stairs after him.

"Hey," I yelled out to him as he stood on the building as I got out of the door. "Get away from the ledge."

"You came," He said with a smile on his face. "I didn't think you could hear my thoughts."

"Wait...You were...calling out to me?" I asked him. "Why did you do that if you were planning on committing suicide? Unless you don't...want to commit suicide?"

"Devin, of course I don't wanna commit suicide," He said to me with an eerie smile on his face. "But it was the only way I could get you up here."

"For what?" I asked confused.

I was getting a bad vibe from this guy. The initial feeling of fear and pain and sorrow was gone. It was like...

"Can you feel it?" he asked me. "The evilness?"

"You lured me up here?" I asked him. "You tricked me. But why?"

"Because it is my job to kill you," he said to me and I noticed his blue eyes change from blue to black.

I took a step back out of fear.

"I am about to show you what true pain is," He said to me and I could feel as if my head was being ripped apart. He was forcing himself inside my head.

"NO! STOP!" I yelled out in pain.

This was unbearable. It was like I was feeling pain from hundreds of people all around. Pain of divorce. Illness. Sorrow. Lonliness. Despair. Regret. Anger.

"Stop it please," I said to him. "It hurts so bad."

"Makes you wanna kill yourself huh?" He asked me as I could feel him literally pushing his way through my mind.

I was no match for him and I could feel that t his was going to drive me insane.

My nose begin bleeding and I fell to the ground cringing and writhing in pain.

I just wanted to die. I had to get rid of this pain inside of my head. But how...How do I get rid of this without it killing me?

"Devin, you can't fight it," He said to me in a menancing voice. "I am going to kill you. You can't stop it."

But I had too...I couldn't allow him to win. I could sense that this wasn't the first time had did this. He was going to keep killing. It wouldn't stop with me. He was going to keep doing it...Unless I stopped it.

If he could channel pain into my mind, I should be able to channel it back.

I closed my eyes and I focused on the pain he was feeding me. It was true, I could sense pain of others but I had to figure out how to channel it back. I focused on it and I begin to think less painful and happier thoughts.

"Aw, you think that will work?" He asked with a laugh. "I have been doing this far longer than you, my boy?"

I felt the power surge I needed and my face lit up. I opened my eyes. "But can you do this?"

I fired a blast at him that sent him flying backwards several feet towards the edge of the building.

"See, you should never underestimate me," I said to him. "Because whenever I am a tough situation, I always prevail."

I honed in and fired another blast at him sending him flying off the edge of the building. I walked to the edge and saw his dead body laying on the ground.

"Now that was cool," I said with a laugh.

Author's Note:

Okay, here is the story I have been talking about for awhile now. I have been going back and forth with title's for the story and I just stuck with my original "At Destiny's End" title. If you have seen shows like Heroes On NBC, Mutant X, X-men...etc then you will see that this story follows the same path as those shows and follows super humans.

As from the main cast, you will see that only 3 of the characters appeared in this episode those being Devin, Bruce, and Tyler. The others will appear as the story progresses.

To give a brief power explanation of the first three characters, Devin is the lead character and has the ability to sense and alter the thoughts and emotions of others. He can cause visions and hallucinations in others. At the very end here when he was battling the unnamed telepath who had lured him to the building, he also learned how to channel the emotions into strong blast that has telekinetic effects as seen at the end.

Bruce, Devin's boyfriend, is the character with the power of teleportation and telekinetic-teleportation. He can teleport himself and others short distances. He can also use his teleportation power to move objects in the form of telekinesis however both his teleportation and telekinetic-teleportation has limits that he hasn't discovered yet.

Tyler is the son of the late doctor Evan Magana and has the ability to slow molecules down to the point where things appear frozen. Although his power only worked once, his power stems from when he is afraid and he will soon learn how to handle his power more and as you see, he isn't exactly ready to accept that fact that he has a power.

The bacgkround of the story follows characters who have been developing abilities such as these three as a result of experiments that have been done on unknowing patients. However as they try to get a handle on these abilities and balance out their lives, they have to look out for people who want to hurt him...even people who are just like them.

Join Devin, Tyler, and Bruce as their story begins here.

In Episode 2, Devin witnesses a kidnapping of a young boy and sets out to search for the girl while Bruce tries to hide his bad lifestyle from Devin while also hiding another secret. Meanwhile, Taylor deals with the funeral of his father while trying to help a boy who is connected to the girl Devin is trying to find.
