I said, glancing at him, and grinning evilly, "we have to play cards before we crash down for the night." "Right... May I ask why?" David said, looking puzzled. "Because," I said, making it sound like the most obvious thing on earth, "My horoscope website told me to play poker every night before bed," I said, having memorized the whole thing by heart, "and anyway... why not?" "Ah," David laughed, "Trevor, man, you do the craziest things sometimes." Then he flashed me his killer smile. It was so... rebellious. And cheeky! Ha! Oh yes, that was David alright, just so... optimistic, funny, always a joker. I always felt safe when he smiled at me. Alas, enough of his smiles, Trevor, snap out of it! I needed to get my plan into action... "Ok man; let's get this show on the road!" David said, looking enthusiastic. Well, that was one thing at least. Ok, now I have him right where I want him. "Right, poker, 5 card draw! Let's go!" I shouted, slightly too loud! Oops! Imagine if my mum or dad heard this! I locked my door. Why, David had asked me. "Because, dufus, you know how my sister is!" I replied in mock irritation. "Ah yeah," said David, lapping up the attention he gets from girls, as always, "She always had a crush on me! Well, she's lucky we are best friends!" Pity we weren't anything more than best friends... "Come on man," David said impatiently, "deal the cards." "Oh, I forgot to say," I said, just butting in, "If you lose, you get punished." "What?!" David said, "Like some sort of sex thing?!" I wish... "No!" I said in vain, "you just have to, like, imitate a baboon, or something." "You're good at that!" "Oy!" "Just deal the cards Trevor!" So I dealt the cards. The first hand, I won. I beat David with a pair of eights, compared to his pair of twos. "Ok man," David said, "What do I have to do?" Be my willing slave... Ok these thoughts had to stop! "Er... I dunno!" I said, not wanting to say he should do something for me. "Ok man, I know," David said, "I will take off my sock." He pulled his sock off and revealed his foot. I dunno why, but I always liked his feet -- so smooth and probably felt great. Alas, I would never know... The next hand was won by David, beating me easily with three of a kind to my ace high. "Dude, what have I got to do?" I said, wondering what he would ask. "Take off a sock, of course!" "So," I said wonderingly, "Is this strip poker?" The look in his eyes, turned from mischievous to loathing. Oh crap, I had screwed up! "Well," David said, with an angry voice...
