I was going to hold off writing Blake's Love 6, but I have nothing better to do, so here it is. Hope you guys like it, and send any of your comments to Boyinterrupted85@aol.com. Thanks again, Gary T. ________________________ Blake's Love 6 "Surprises" ________________________ After one of the most wonderful Christmas's and some really nice gifts from Chris, I didn't think that he could do anything more, but he did. He told me that we would be going to Time Square for New Years. I was so happy, I've never had the chance to go, and I normally just get to watch it on MTV or the local news. I've never been able to enjoy the experience in person; it's something that Chris knows I've always wanted. It was the 29th of December, and my parents were having a few of their friends over for a party. It was an unusual thing for my parents to do, especially on a Friday night. Chris, Melanie, Charlie, and I had made plans to go bowling, of all things. Melanie is slowly becoming one of our good friends, and Charlie pretty much already is. After the whole Charlie thing, I didn't think we could have a friendship, but surprises do arise. I understand he was only trying to help Chris, but Chris should have had the sense to know I wouldn't have cheated on him anyways. Even though I did have the chance with a really hot jock from Sheperdsville. But, the past is the past and I'm ready for whatever the future brings. Which soon enough is a trip to Time Square. I'm looking forward to that trip more than anything in the entire world. It's going to be something Chris and I appreciate, something we can hold in our hearts for the rest of our lives, the technical beginning of the 21st century. It was all I could think about, and I only had two more days to wait. I had sat around with some of my parent's friends until Chris and the gang picked me up at 7:30. We got to the bowling alley a few minutes later, and Melanie's voice was already getting on my nerves. As I said, she was SLOWLY becoming one of our good friends. She's a good person, but that voice has GOT to go. "Hey guys, I like have to get an 8 pound ball, anything else would be sooo heavy for me." Melanie said as we walked through the doors. "I'm sure you can find one in the kiddy bumper section Melanie." I said rolling my eyes. "Dude, that boy is hot." Charlie said pointing across the lanes towards a tall sandy blonde haired boy. Chris and I, along with Melanie all looked over. He was pretty cute. "I'm definitely going to get to know him tonight." Charlie said with a devious smile on his face. "What makes you think he's interested?" Chris asked. "I'll make him interested." Charlie said snickering. Charlie was a heartbreaker, I could have told you that from the moment I met him. He would sure break every girls heart once he came out, or if he came out. But, at the same time, he'd make a few boys day a little better, so it would all work out. We started bowling and Charlie could hardly concentrate on the game. The boy he was eyeing was with a group of friends that looked familiar, but definitely didn't go to our school. They may have been from Babian Catholic, which was the areas Catholic high school. "Blake, I'm telling you I'm going up to that boy and getting his attention, even if he's not gay, having a friend that cute would be awesome." Charlie said getting up. "Are you for real? I could never do that." I replied "Yes I'm for real, my heart is racing like crazy right now, but I'm doing it." "Well then do it man." Chris said butting in. We all had a snicker and Charlie looked over at the boy while scratching his head, thinking it somehow made it less obvious he was staring at him. He stopped the fake scratching and was surprised to see the boy looking at him. Chris, Melanie and I were watching in amazement as the boy started walking towards us all. Charlie looked back at me and was saying "oh my god" repeatedly under his breath. The group of friends the boy was with looked over at us as the boy walked up to Charlie. "Why don't you quit talking about coming up and talking to me and do it?" He said. "Wh-What are you talking about?" Charlie said, you could tell he was scared to death. "Just talk to me, if not tonight them sometime else." He said giving Charlie a napkin. The boy walked back to his friends and I heard one of them say "I can't believe you actually did that" while he replied "well he was cute." So he obviously meant it. "What does that napkin say?" Chris asked. "I dunno, I haven't read it yet." Charlie said opening it up. "It says: Give me a call at 555-6798, - Hunter." Charlie said with a twinkle in his eye. "As if!" Melanie said grabbing the napkin and reading it herself. "Oh my god, it totally does say that!" She finished. "Go Charlie!" I said snickering. "Wow man, for real." He said, probably still shocked that the boy spoke to him, let alone gave him his number. "I like that name too, Hunter." Chris said. "Yeah, it sounds, like cute." Melanie said. "About how old would you say he was you guys?" Charlie asked. "I would guess our age, maybe a year younger." I replied. He was definitely over 16, and Chris and I were almost 17. Charlie was a senior, so he had to be approaching 18, and Melanie was also our age. I looked over at Hunter's group of friends. Charlie was a tad embarrassed, but just as excited and couldn't look back over there. Hunter was looking at me. I looked away, because I definitely didn't want to give him the wrong impression. "Charlie, you better go claim your prize before he gets away." Chris said sarcastically. "I'm too nervous." He replied. "Well, do this then: Go to the bathroom and look at him when you walk past, I'm sure we would follow you." I said. "Yeah, that like might totally work." Melanie said. "Are you guys sure? I don't want to wind up looking like a fool." He said. "I think Blake's right, why don't you go try it." Chris said. "Oh god, OK, OK, I will." He said getting up. He started to walk towards the bathrooms and looked back at us. We all motioned our hands for him to keep going and he went back to the plan. As we all suspected, Hunter followed behind him. We went through and all bowled back up to Charlie again. We really weren't into the bowling anymore. We all had below 70 with two frames left. Charlie and Hunter were either getting it on already, or they really hit it off, cuz it was 25 minutes before they finally came out. "Sooooo?" I said. "We're going to meet up on New Year's Eve. I guess I'm going to his house. He lives im Wellingger Creek. 4534 Oak Ave, somewhere behind Babian Catholic. "Oh, OK, I know right where that is." I said. "Yeah, me too." Chris continued. "It's actually not too far away from Shultz's Hardware." I said. Chris and I were laid off after summertime; he just didn't need the help anymore. It was nice while it lasted though. I was looking for another job, but Chris didn't seem to be in any hurry. "So, did you guys like hit it off or what?" Melanie asked. "Well, we think each other is cute, if that counts. And he definitely wants me to come over on New Year's Eve." Charlie said. "Well, I would escort you over there, but Chris and I have plans. How about if we drive past there tonight when we leave to give you an Idea as to where it's at?" I offered. "Sounds great to me, thanks." Charlie said. "No prob man." I replied. We finished our bowling and changed back into our regular shoes. Charlie went over to Hunter and told him bye. Hunter made it clear that he still wanted him to come over on New Year's Eve. He must have been totally out to his friends, because he didn't think much of anything talking in front of them. That's something I admire. The group I was with were the only people that knew about me. Rosa was the only other person at all, and she was more of a mentor than a friend. We hopped in the car and rode past Hunter's house before we dropped Melanie off at home. We drove all the way back to Charlie's house in Sheperdsville and dropped him off next. We had taken Chris' car today because mine needed a washing really bad, and I didn't want to take it out. Chris brought me back to my house and kissed me goodbye before he took off for home. Tonight was certainly different than anything I've experienced in awhile. Ever since Chris and I have been dating, it's been us two all the time. It was nice to go out with some friends, and definitely cool that Charlie may have gotten a boyfriend. One more day left till I get to spent New Year's in Time Square with Chris. Time is going by really slow. It took me about an hour to fall asleep. I woke up at about 9:30. I was hoping that I would sleep in later, but excitement was building. Chris had to go to his Grandpa's house for the better part of the afternoon, but we made plans for the two of us tonight. A couple good movies were playing and I suggested them, but Chris said he already made plans for us, so I left it at that. I went down stairs and talked to my mom, she was still trying to pick out baby names. She didn't want to know what she was having, or at least that what she says. I'm sure she'll change her mind when the opportunity presents itself. Everything was going good up till now though, she was approximately a month and a half along. Her due date was set at August 22nd. At around 7:00, Chris called and said he would be there in a few minutes. I went in and combed through my hair and put on some cologne. I wore a pair of dark khakis and an orange Abercrombie sweater. I really didn't know where we were going, so I wanted to look decent. "Hey baby." I said smiling at Chris when he got to my house. I hopped in the car and he backed out of the driveway. "Hey sweet stuff." He said reaching over to hold my hand. It's weird how you start little things in your relationship. Like always holding hands in the car and the little pet names. One of Chris' is starting to run his hands through my hair. I don't know if I have any, but I'm sure I do. I can remember looking at couples and it almost making me sick because of all the pet names and "touchy feeliness". But, now I'm a victim of the madness, hehe. Boy, how things can change. "So hun, where we goin?" I asked. "Well, I wasn't going to tell you, but by the time we get to the highway you'd have already figured it out. I talked to your mom and told her I had some extra cash and that I wanted to surprise you with a trip to New York, not just for tomorrow night, but for the rest of our Christmas Vacation." "Chris, no you didn't?!" I said. "Well, yeah, I did." He replied. "Chris, I-I don't really know what to say, thank you so much! But how on earth did you talk my Mother into it, and where are the clothes I'm supposed to wear for the rest of the trip?" I asked. "Well, we wear about the same sizes, so I packed extra of my stuff, and we can go shopping for whatever you'd like. This is your week. As for your Mom, it took a lot of effort but she really gave in easier than I thought she would." He replied. At this point I was so ecstatic that I began to cry. I couldn't believe this was true, that Chris would do something this special for me. "Why do I deserve this Chris?" I asked as he wiped away my tears. "Because you are my boyfriend Blake, and I love you. That's a good enough reason to me." "Thank you Chris, that's like all I can say." "That's all you need to say hun." He replied. I smiled weakly at him; I was really shocked he would go to these limits. I was also upset because I wondered what my Mom was thinking, most friends don't offer to take you on a weeklong trip, let alone over new years. I tried to be happy, but I was a little worried. "Chris, about my Mom. I don't know, but do you really think she bought it? Most normal "friends" don't go on weeklong trips together, alone. Let alone two guy friends. "Do we really give a fuck at this point in the game?" Chris said. "Well, you may not, but I most certainly do." I said turning and facing the window. I crossed my arms like a little kid would do when he didn't get his way. I was really pissed at Chris. I don't even know why. Here he was taking me to New York for an entire week, and I was worried about my mom's reaction to it. I shouldn't care, but I do. I sure do hope this weekend turns out as wonderful as Chris wants it to. ____________________________________________________________ Well, that's Chapter 6. Yes, it's on the short side, actually the shortest chapter I've ever written. But, I promise that Blake's Love 7 will be a tad bit longer, and will be absolutely wonderful.
