Author's Message: Author's Comment: I appreciate your e-mails. When I started writing this story I had no idea where it would go - there were two boys one called Hawken the othe Alex. It went no where for over a year then as I sometimes do I read over this fragment of a story I wrote six chapters then stopped I only posted five. Why? Because I realized I knew nothing about being blind or blindness but thanks to the help from my friend Drew I decided to actually find out more about blindness and as a result of that have amended chapters 1 through 6. My research including talking with and emailing some gay blind guys have definitely given me more insight and understanding if the character Alex Ambrose. The story continues and my hope is that chapters 7, 8 and onwards you the reader gain a better understanding of blindness and prehaps more compassion for those individuals who are visually impaired be they gay straight or bi.

Blind Love

Chapter 3

I froze. I could feel my face burning with embarrassment.

"Dad, why are you mad?" Alex asked.

"I think you should direct that question to the actor sitting next to you."

"Hawk, what's going on?"

I sat there. A few minutes ago I was so happy I had a friend now that was
gone. My insides were churning like a tornado was going on. I could feel
the tears flooding down my cheeks and dripping onto my shirt.

"Hawk? Dad? Will someone please tell me what's going on."

"I lied...I tried to tell your Dad but he wouldn't listen to me He-he said
you needed a friend. I-I thought it's what I needed too...a friend. And
when I got here I was going to tell you but then you were so awesome and I
didn't know how to tell you and-and when you said you didn't have a friend
I thought maybe I'd have a chance...to be your friend..."

"You aren't blind are you?"

"No, I can see better than most, but I think I'd give it up if I knew it
would make us friends...I'm sorry for not for anything I've said just for
not being honest about not being blind."

I quickly got up and hurried up to the First Class lavatories sat down on
the toilet and sobbed. After five minutes someone knocked.

"Hawk. It's Mom. It's not as bad as you think now come on out of there."

"Just go away! Leave me alone!" I cried.

A few moments later there was a gentle tapping on the door. "Hawk. Please
come out I want to talk to you. Do you still want me to be your friend?"

I opened the door. "Yes," I said just above a whisper as I choked back the
tears. I could tell he'd been crying too. I wanted to hug him so I did I
just pulled him into a hug. He didn't resist and we both just stood there
hugging each other. He was the first to speak.

"I'm sorry, I knew you could see. I should have said something but I
didn't."

"You knew? How?" I asked pulling my head back and looking at him.
He gently but firmly pushed my head back against his neck and shoulder
where it had been. "We were talking and I asked you favorite color and you
said blue, light blue like your eyes."

I giggled, "I did say that didn't I?"

"Yeah, you did." We both started giggling and laughing. I don't know why we
were laughing but we were and it felt good.

"Boys, there are about to serve dinner and John and I thought maybe you two
would like to sit together."

"Yes!" we both answered, then I added, "Who gets first class, us?"

Mom smiled and said, "John and I."

"Okay, come on Alex."

He turned me around and placed his hand on my shoulder and I lead him back
towards coach but Mr. Ambrose stopped me and Mom took over leading Alex to
his seat.

"Hawk, I want to apologize, I was wrong for assuming that you were just
playing some kind of mean trick."

"It's okay Mr. Ambrose everything is fine now," I smiled and then
continued on to coach.

Alex and I spent the rest of the flight just talking and enjoy each other's
company. They announced our arrival at Gatwick Airport in fifteen minutes.
I thought I'd be happy but I wasn't and I guess it showed in my voice.

"Hawk? What's wrong?"

"Nothing. We're just landing soon."

"Yeah. I wish... we'll be going our way and you and your Mom your way...I
don't want it to end," he muttered.

Neither did I. I felt comfortable with Alex other than his blindness we had
lots of things in common. I don't know if I was falling in love with him or
not I just wanted to spend more time with him to be his friend and for him
to be my friend.

"I'll be right back!" I said as I got out of my seat and ran forward to
first class. "Mr. Ambrose, Mom, can Alex stay with us in London? Please!"

"What about your audition?"

"He could go with us and he could help me with the part. Please"

"Young man, you must return to your seat, we are on final approach," voiced
the flight attendant.

"Yes, one sec, Mom? Mr. Ambrose?" The two looked at each other and smiled.

Mr. Ambrose nodded. I was so excited, "YES!" and ran back to tell Alex.
***

Mom, Alex and I arrived at the hotel at 2am and by 3am Alex and I had our
stuff put away. I was really amazed how independent he was and more how
organized he was. Me I sort of just throw things in the drawers and he
placed things from his suitcase neatly in place in two drawers. I guess I
was just silently watching him. When he finished he turn his head towards
me, "Why are you staring at me?"

I blushed. How did he know I was staring at him?

"I-I don't know I just like watching you. You're so...(gulp), so tidy."

"Tidy?"

"Yeah well organized."

"I have to be. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what I'm wearing...see white
socks," he said holding up a pair of white socks and then returned them to
their original spot in the drawer and pulled out a pair of black socks,
"black socks."

"Oh."

"Close your eyes tight and no peeking", he said.

I complied and then he told tossed over a pair of socks - "Don't peek and
tell me what color they are."

"I have no idea?"

"Black. Now here is a pair of white socks. Open you're eyes and then throw
one pair back to me."

I threw back the black pair. "Don't peek," I giggled.

"Asshole," he giggled. "These are a pair of black socks!"

"Ehhhh!"

"What? No these are a pair of black socks!"

"Gotcha," I giggled.

He smiled turn his head slightly, "You really are an asshole. Aren't you?"
giving me a curious look.

"I'm just joking with you. You looked really funny when...Oumph!" Suddenly
he was on top of me almost knocking the breath out of me. He scramble up
and sat on my stomach.

"You know what I do with assholes like you?" he said tersely.

"Alex I was only kidding," I really didn't mean to hurt his feeling.
I was really beginning to regret what I had done when he said "Gotcha!" and
giggled, "Paybacks suck!" he laughed and then preceded to start tickling
me.

I think I am the world's most ticklish person. I was squirming and bucking
trying to get him off me and laughing and squealing. "Alex, please stop!" I
begged as he continued to tickle. "Alex, I'm gonna pee in my pants and all
over you!" I managed to barley get out in between my yowls and uncontrolled
laughter.

Finally, he stopped. He was still sitting on top of me still pinning me
down. I know he's blind, but sometimes like know it feels like he's really
looking at me, deep down into my very soul. I knew if he stayed on top of
me much longer I'd get a hardon. Somehow in our short time together we
clicked. I could feel my love for him growing with every moment. I had to
say something. "Alex, unless you're gay you'd better get off of me because
and second now I'm gonna pop a boner," half laughed.

"And what if I am...gay?" he replied in a quite voice.

I froze not knowing what to say other than "Uh...uh..."

Hey if you like Sci-fi I have a story going on over there too. ;-) Sam.
