BOLERO: A trilogy by A. Terenas

Part I: The Stranger

Chapter 4: For You

Slow down you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart tell me
why are you still so afraid?
Where's the fire,
What's the hurry about?
You better cool it off before
you burn it out
You got so much to do and only
So many hours in a day
But you know that when
the truth is told
That you can get what you want
Or you can just get old
You're gonna kick off before you
even get halfway through
When will you realize...
Vienna waits for you.

As that song played over and over again in my head, I wondered if I was pushing it with James. Had I come on too strongly? After all, was doing the fucking. Did he really want this?

I found out soon enough.

It was about three months after our Monday afternoon copulation, and such sex was occuring twice a week, even as recently as last night, and boy was he great. When we eventually did change positions, he was as good on top as he was on bottom! We really had a thing for each other.

I was walking the halls of school with an emotional storm raging in my head. People tend to jump out of your way when you look like that, ya know?

Pretty soon, I discovered that I had to "go". I walked down the stairs and opened the bathroom door. There was James,

WITH HIS TONGUE DOWN TOM'S THROAT!

Having lost the need to piss, I spun on my heel and exited the bathroom, expressionless.

"Christopher, wait!" James ran after me.

"No. You wait. You wait until there is a valid explanation for this, then come talk to me. I'm a reasonable guy."

"No, hold on?"

"To what, James? I seem to have lost my grip on things. Adios."

And with that, I walked out of that building and into the one that housed my next class, calm and demure as if nothing had happened.

How nice. Well, the emotional battle was over. I win. As I walked into science class, another lyric began to pop through my head as I realized that this was going to be harder than it looked.

Once I used to believe
I was such a great romancer
Then I came home to a man
That I could not recognize
When I pressed him for a reason
He refused to even answer
It was then I felt the stranger
Kick me right between the eyes.

And as much as I didn't want to for whatever reason, science ended and I went home and cried my eyes out. (Not literally.)
