Date: Sun, 16 Mar 2008 17:20:33 -0700 (PDT) From: JMH Subject: Circle the Noun Chapter 24 What happened at the kids' table was in marked contrast towhat was happening at the adults'. WhenJosh handed out copies of the report to both Mike and Robert he had not beenready for their anger. Mike went to thenearest wall and punched a hole in it. Patrick ended up taking him to the ER to see if it was broken. Robert had wanted to beat Thomas up the firsttime he had heard that Thomas was going to accuse Josh of having sex with thekids. Now that it seemed there was achance that Thomas could have infected David and through David Nathan andPhilip, Robert wanted to then beat an new attitude into Thomas... he wanted tokill him. Josh had hoped that Robert would have been the voice ofreason considering that Robert had gotten a STD himself, but it might have beenthat Robert took immediate responsibility for it when it happened. Thomas knew he was infected and sleeping withother guys while not telling them about it. Thomas's irresponsibility just added to the anger Robert felt. Tad, of course, took this all in... theconversation was building stress and tension. Tad always felt that stress and tension was never a good thing. He also felt the best way to get rid of itwas sexually. It was not time to make amove on Glenn and Kyle. Tad wanted touse sex as a reward for those two. Joshand Robert were a hot couple but the two of them seemed superglued to eachother. There was no way Tad felt hecould get into a threesome with them. Mike and Patrick could have worked, but they were gone. That left Richard... Terry's husband... Or wasit wife... he sure acted like a timid housewife, which made Richard Tad'spreferred subject of straight to gay conversion. The conversation had died when Josh and later Robert had leftto talk to the kids. Most of the conversationfocused on how good a cook Terry thought Tad was and Glenn and Kyle having toget used to having a small house in their backyard. When Josh and Robert came back, Terry and Jessica followedthem back to the main house to talk about the kids. This left Tad alone with Richard and thatmade Tad very happy. Have you seen the setup in the living room?" Tad askedthe shy man. "No I haven't," Richard admitted looking down athis plate. "Then let me give you the tour." Tad grinned as he left the table and headedfor the door. "Well... come on,Dick." Tad waved over when Richarddid not join him quickly. "It's Richard..." Tad's victim said in a tone thatreeked of his timid personality. "Ok... Richard... but why don't you like me calling youDick?" "I just don't like that name." Richard blushed. Tad wrapped one of his large arms around Richard's shoulderswhile his other hand opened the door. Tad loved it when closeted men would shiver just by his touch. Richard, his dick for the evening, was noexception. Tad led Richard into theexercise room, tossing off his too tight shirt, leaving it on the floor. "So what do you think?" Tad said as he flexed hisarms and chest. "That is a lot of equipment," Richard said as hekept his eyes averted from Tad body. "Not the exercise equipment... me!" Tad laughed as he turned Richards head toface him. Tad wrapped both of his arms around Richard's chest in a bearhug while his hands began to pull Richard's shirttails out. "No, no, no, no..." Richard tried to protest. "Oh yes, yes, yes, yes,... Rich. Just relax and let your "dick" dothe thinking." Tad grinned as hegave Richard's package a good squeeze, finding it hard as he knew he would. "I shouldn't be doing this," Richard sighed as hefelt Tad's hand unzip his pants. "Oh yes you should!" Terry's voice came from the dinningroom. "You just better make sure heenjoys it, Tad." "See, your wife thinks you should go ahead withthis." Tad grinned as he began tosuck on Richard's neck. "Please... I really can't do this?" "Your cock doesn't think so," Tad pouted. He was used to having the guys being all overhim by this point. "I mean it ...God won't forgive me if I..." "If you have a little fun?" Tad said is if he wereadmonishing a three-year-old. "A man shall not lay with another man..." Richardrepeated as if it were a chant. "Rubbish... do you believe that God made you?" Tadasked. "Yes..." Richard admitted. "Do you think you force your dick to get hard when yousee another guy?" "Yes?" "Well, you are something then... I've never known a guy whocould will himself hard with no help at all. Tell me, how do you do it?" "I see a guy and I think about doing... doing evilthings." "Oh come on... just say what it really is... you see a hotguy and you think about having sex with him. Don't give me any of this evil crap." "Well, it is evil," Richard defended himself "A lot of things are evil but that is no reason to justcall everything that is evil as just evil. So you think sex with a man is evil... so say it... say making love to a manis evil, not just that it is evil." "Making love..." Richard started, having greatdifficulty saying the word 'love'. "Making love is evil." "See, you could not even get yourself to say with whom...try it again... making love to a man is..." Tad insisted while he pulled downRichard's pants. This time when Richard tried to stutter it out, Tad let hishand massage Richard's groin, just adding to the poor man's confusion."Making love... making love to a MAN is... is..." Richard was unable tofinish. "Is GOOOOOOOOD!" Tad finished for him as he slippedhis hand under Richards boxers and took hold of his dick. "No..." Richard shook his head. "Yes..." Tad insisted. "And I'm going to show you how good itcan be," Tad said as he pulled Richard along toward the bedroom. "I can't do this," Richard protested while his feetfollowed Tad without a fight. "You are going to do nothing but enjoy yourself,"Tad insisted. "So stop worrying...it's not really sex unless you participate." "Ok... " Richard said in an attempt to convincehimself of such a absurd statement. Tad guided him into the bedroom, where he closed thedoor. It was about time he broke in anew boyfriend. *************************************************************** David left Thomas's house fuming, the creep was at aparty. At least he got the bastard'sphone number from his folks. It was anOscar winning performance, his hiding his anger at Thomas from Thomas'sparents. They just smiled and grinned atDavid thinking that David wanted to get back together with their son. By the time David was done with Thomas, hewas sure that his folks would not recognize him. As he got into his jeep he made the call toThomas. ******************************************************* After receiving a call, Thomas had gone to the school andwaited on the soccer field. The call hehad received had been angry... very angry, and that made him happy. Everyone should suffer the way he felt hesuffered, getting AIDS at the tender age of 15. He had worked hard to make sure no one at school knew of his condition butnow it seemed that another knew his secret. This did not bother him. It wasabout time that word got out. All theguys he had had sex with at school would be terrified. They would al be running to their doctors toget tested and cursing his name. Thomasdidn't care if any of them were positive or not, just the fact that they wouldhave to deal with the same fear he felt every day was justice enough for him. Getting tired of standing out in the cold October air, Thomaswas about to go back home when he heard the sound of feet walking across themetal bleachers. "So... you finallyshowed up." Thomas smirked. "How's life treating you?" The guy remained silent but continued to walk forward. "Awwww... don't be like that. You have a lot to look forward to... diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, rashes. You justneed to keep a "positive" out look on life," Thomas continued...enjoying the look of hurt and anger on the other guy's face. "I know what... how about a hug... that'll cheer youup. A hug always cheers me up,"Thomas said with wide open arms. To Thomas's surprise the guy walked into his arms and huggedhim. Thomas, for the first time in manyyears did not feel alone any more. Maybehe had been wrong to do what he did. Maybe everyone would have accepted him if he had told them thetruth. Maybe he and the guy could becomereal boyfriends even. Maybe... but Thomasnever got the chance to find out. WhileThomas continued the hug, the guy he was holding took out a knife and stabbedhim in the back. Out of shock, fear, and pain Thomas fell out of the guy'sarms. He then tried to run away but justas he tried to turn he felt the knife stab him in the left thigh causing him tofall to the ground. That was when hisattacker really went to work... *************************************************************** It was six in the morning when there was a loud knock on thefront door. Nathan, bleary eyed fromsleeping on the sofa with Philip while the two of them waited for David to gethome got up and walked over to the front door and opened it. "Hello...? Nathanasked, blinded for a second as a flashlight shined on his face. "This is Officer Gordon... is David Yates here?" "No, he is not here," Nathan said as he raised hishand to block the light. "Do you know where he is?" Sensing that David was in trouble, Nathan replied "No... Idon't." "Can I speak with an adult... preferably David'sfather?" the policeman asked seeing that he was getting nowhere withNathan. "Just one moment please," Nathan said trying toclose the door but the officer prevented it closing with his metal flashlight. "Do you mind of I take a look around." "Yes... yes I do," Nathan said, the sleepinessstarting to leave his head. "You do know it is a crime to hide a criminalsuspect," the officer warned. "Yes officer but as I told you... David is not here. He didn't come home last night." "Really... and when was the last time you saw him if I canask." Sensing that the officer was fishing for details on David'swhereabouts, Nathan excused himself before he slipped again. "I'll go get David's father now." "Alright... I'll be checking the outside of thehouse," the officer replied. Now able to close and lock the door, Nathan ran up the stairsto Mike and Patrick's room not even bothering to knock. "Uncle Mike... the police are here,"Nathan said before he realized what he had walked into. In a sling, getting fucked by a leather-clad Mike wasPatrick. As Mike's back was to the doorit was Patrick who realized first that Nathan had barged in. Embarrassed, Patrick tried to stand up, onlyto tangle himself up more. "Hey Patrick, what's up?" Mike asked confused athis sudden reluctance to continue. "Uncle Mike!" Nathan shouted this time. "Nathan... have you heard of knocking." "Sorry I forgot... but the police are here." "The police... why are the police here? Is something wrong?" "Yes... it's David... they are looking for him." "Why in the world for? Didn't David come home last night?" "No... he didn't" "Damn... what did the officer say? I need to know if I'm going to have a clue towhat to tell the police." "He didn't say much. I think he was looking to get hints about where David is from us. He even brought up how it is a crime to hidea suspect from the police." "OK then... at least we know this is not about speedingtickets. You were at Glenn and Kyle'slonger than I was. How did David reactto the news about Thomas?" "He was very upset... he said he needed to be alone." "Ok... then that is what we will tell the police." "Alright..." Nathan said as both of them headed downthe stairs, Mike still in his black leather chaps. When they left the front door, Philip was also awake andwondering what was going on. The policeofficer was still outside taking the licenses plate numbers of the carsoutside. "Officer... can you tell me what is going on." "Are you David's father?" Officer Gordon saidtrying not to laugh. "Yes..." "Can you tell me why your son is not home with you rightnow?" "Not without a lawyer I'm not." "Sir... it's just a simple question, can you tell me whereyour son is." "No I cannot." "Then I think you need to come to the station with mefor questioning... you and everyone who saw David last night." "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what the hellis going on." "You will learn that at the station, but for now I thinkyou need to get dressed and come with us. This is a very serious matter Mr. Yates." "Alright... let me just get dressed and call my lawyer andI'll come down." "You don't really need your lawyer, sir. We will only be asking you questions aboutyour son's whereabouts." "Thanks, but I think I will need to have him present allthe same." "Your choice, sir." The officer gave up. "Nathan... go wake up your father. It looks like all of us will have to go tothe police station. Damn... what has Daviddone." When all of them arrived at the police station, thequestioning began. Josh called some ofhis legal connections to have two criminal defense lawyers meet them with oneof them specializing in juvenal cases. Still even with their help it was hard to hide the fact that last nightDavid left Glenn and Kyle's upset. Itwas only after everyone had been interviewed that Mike was called back in. "We just found your son," the detective said afterMike and his lawyer sat down. "Where was he?" "He was found in his jeep at a local park, one of thepark rangers found him there. Right nowa police car is going to pick him up." "Why can't he drive here?" "His car is being impounded as evidence." "Evidence of what? We have tried to answer your questions so why don't you tell me what thehell is going on?" "Last night Thomas Dean was found murdered." "What!" Mike said surprised. "You know that name?" "Yes... yes I do... he is... was a student at my son'sschool." "Well, last night after your son left, he went over tothe murdered kid's house looking for him. Thomas's folks told David where he was and gave him his cell phonenumber. What we have learned fromquestioning all of you is that David left a friend's house upset. I think you can see where this isleading." "You are saying that my son killed this kid?" Mikesaid stunned. "I am saying that we really need to talk to your son tolearn what happened after he left your company last night." "I see," Mike sighed. "Can I have my son after you finishquestioning him?" "I am afraid that under these circumstances the answerto that will have to be no... not until he makes bail." "I understand. Iwould like to stay and talk to him when he arrives." "We are finished with all of you for now. We might want to question ya'll further, butas for you talking to your son, you will have to wait until after we have achance to process and question him." "With legal counsel of course," Mike's lawyer spokeup. "If he asks for it," the detective replied. "You better not question my son without a lawyer present,"Mike warned. "Your son is 18 years of age. Legally he can make his own decisions. If he asks for a lawyer we will let him haveone." "Fine..." Mike said, getting anger. He got up from the table and left for themain lobby where everyone else was waiting. "What's up?" Patrick asked concerned. "They found David and are bringing him to thestation." "Ok...but why do they want him in the first place? What do they think he did?" "Thomas is dead... murdered," Mike replied as if thatwas the hardest thing he had ever had to say. "But that's impossible... " Nathan said. "David would never kill anyone." "He is the main suspect in any case. After he left Glenn and Kyle's he wentlooking for Thomas, or at least that is what Thomas's parents are saying... damnit!" Mike cursed. "What does the lawyer think?" Josh asked. "Well, until he is formally charged he does not knowwhat else they have against David. Thepolice do plan to keep him until a bail hearing in any case." "What would you like us to do?" Robert asked. "There is nothing you can do except wake me from thisnightmare," Mike sighed. "Iplan on staying here in any case. Theymight let me talk to him after they finish processing and questioninghim." "I'll stay as well," Patrick said as he wrapped anarm around Mike's waist. "So will I... if that is ok, dad?" Nathan joined in. "You might have to be here all day?" Josh warned. "It's ok, dad." "Well, is there anything I can bring you fromhome?" Josh asked his son. "Yes... my homework." "Will do... I'll also bring breakfast for everyone. Breakfast tacos ok?" "That would be fine," Mike said as he wrapped anarm around Nathan, happy that he decided to stay." "Ok... don't worry,Mike, I'm sure that everything will work out," Robert said as he gave bothMike and Patrick a hug. "Take care," Josh said as he hugged the three whowere staying goodbye. "Will try..." Mike sighed. "I'll get your stuff and come back to stay aswell," Philip said as he hugged Nathan. "Ok," Nathan said with a calm that he didn't reallyfeel. Once the three of them were aloneMike relaxed, resting his head on Patrick's shoulder. "Thanks for staying Nathan. Between the three of us I think David willwant to see your face the most." "He needs our support," Nathan explained. "What he needs are three things... a good lawyer, hisfamily's support, and your love," Mike replied to Nathan as he hugged theyoung man close to him. "I know he has two of those things." Nathan smiled weakly. "Yeah... all we need is a killer lawyer... pardon thepun," Mike chuckled. "Sorry ifyou got upset seeing your dad and me argue about you dating David. I guess I was trying to live through my son...you know, get the one that got away." "You loved my dad?" Nathan asked confused. He had never heard that story. "I'll go get ya'll some coffee." Patrick smiled, knowing that thisconversation was not for his ears. "Yes... back in college I was crazy about yourfather," Mike admitted once Patrick was gone. "Then why didn't you date him?" Nathan asked. "Well... first of all, if that had happened, then youwould have never been born, mister. Second, both of us were deep in the closet back in those days. Josh more than I was... I slept with a fewguys, but still in the closet and married." "Yeah... I never hear much about your ex-wife." "Well, she doesn't want a thing to do with me orDavid." "How come." "Well... it was during her pregnancy with David that shecaught me with another man. We stoppedhaving sex after the first trimester and I was horny as hell so I slept withone of my law professors. He was marriedtoo and it was his wife who caught us. She told my wife and boy was she mad." "I can imagine." "Well, she filed for divorce but she didn't want to endup as a single mother at the age of 24 so she planned to get an abortion. Well that shook me to the very core. I finally came to terms that I could nevermarry a woman again so my chances of having another child were slim tonone." "So what happened... she didn't get the abortion." "No she didn't. With help from my family I offered her a near fortune in return for herseeing the child to term and giving me custody. My folks were not happy paying blood money, but as I told them it wastheir only chance to have a grandson." "What happened after that?" "The day after the birth she signed the papers giving mefull custody. I have never seen norheard from her since." "What about breast feeding?" Nathan asked. "Hahahahahaha... we did it the aristocratic way. My folks hired a wet nurse." "Talk about being born with a silver spoon in hismouth." Nathan laughed. "Yeah... that is why I think moving out of my folk's houseto live with you and Josh was one of my better ideas. No matter how much money Josh makes, he stilllives like a farm boy." "Yeah..." Nathan smiled. "So as you can see... you and David hooking up lets meimagine what it would have been like if Josh and I got together." "Do you still wish you had that chance?" Nathanasked worried about Patrick. "And give up Patrick... you got to be kidding!" Mike laughed, reading Nathan's mind. "Josh is cute to the point of beingadorable, but there is no way that Josh would do the sort of things Patrick andI get into." "Get into what?" Patrick asked with a wicked grinas he handed the two of them coffee. "Anything you want, love." Mike smiled back. For the next several hours the three of them exchangedstories with each other with Philip joining in when he came back with the tacosand schoolwork. It was two hours laterwhen the lawyer was called in and another hour before he came back. "How is David?" Mike asked worried. "He is a little scared but ok. He admits to looking for Thomas and going tohis house but he said that after he didn't find Thomas at a party he gave upand parked himself at the park." "Do the police believe him?" "Do the police believe anyone they question?" The lawyer chuckled. "I believe David. No murder weapon was found on him. They took his clothes to check for blood andhis shoes for footprints. If both comeup negative then I'd say that they don't have a case." "Except for the fact that David went looking for Thomason the night he was murdered," Mike corrected. "Yep... that is all they have on him so far... Hopefully that will be all they have." "Can we go see him?" Nathan asked. "Yes, but only for a little bit and I would be carefulof what you say as they could be listening in," the lawyer replied. Not wanting to overwhelm David with a crowd, Mike only tookNathan with him. This seemed to be theright choice as David, on seeing Nathan and his dad, ran right to Nathan andhugged him. "I didn't do it," David cried. "You have to believe me, I didn't doit." "I know, David," Nathan said, as he held tight toDavid. He wanted to cry himself but felthe needed to be strong for David. "They even brought up the wrestling incident... asking ifI had the habit of hurting people," David said in disbelief. "It'll be ok, David... you're innocent." "Am I, Nathan... am I? I left the house with every intention of finding Thomas and hurtinghim. I wanted to hurt him for what hedid... might have done to you and me. Ididn't do it, but I wanted to," David confessed. "But you didn't, David," Nathan insisted. "Dad... can I go home now?" David asked his fatherwith pleading eyes. "I'm sorry, son, but until the bail hearing there isnothing I can do," Mike said, near tears himself. "My life is ruined," David wept as he let go ofNathan and went over to the table. "David, it is not ruined. You still have your family and we will doeverything possible to see that you get freed." "But school, the universities... my future," Davidcomplained. "David... stop it. Get your act together. This isnot how a team captain acts. Things arenot perfect right now but you make it worse if you can't keep yourselftogether... do you understand," Mike said in a harsher tone than he wantedto use. "Yes sir," David said as he straightened up. "We are going to get you out of here, son. You just need to give us some time. Now you and Nathan kiss and hug," Mikesaid, keeping control of the situation. After Nathan and David exchanged several deep kisses andhugs, a police officer came by to escort David away. As it was the weekend the soonest he couldmake bail was on Monday. It was going tobe a rough two days for him. **************************************************************** Thanks to all of you who've written encouraging emails, y'all are the greatest.
