Date: Fri, 16 May 2008 14:48:51 -0700 From: Amethyst Rose Subject: Diana Celes Part 3 This story is fiction. This story will also involve sexual and intimate relationships between two (or more) males, and if this offends you or it is illegal for you to be reading, then please leave. If you are under the age of consent for your community, please leave. And if it does offend you, I honestly don't know why you're even here in the first place. Really, though. It's perplexing. 10:00. Alan bumped into Kae and Kari, straight out of English. He seemed rather panicked. "You guys, you won't believe it. About Dee." he said hurridly. Kari raised an eyebrow, not amused. Kae laughed, but stopped seeing the serious expression on his face. "What?" "I was beating him up yesterday at lunch. Sure, whatever, books, homework, candy in his backpack... but while I was doing it, Jacob Gregory defended him." Kari's eyes squinted in disdain, and Kae slowly backed away from her. She stopped in her tracks, heaving for several seconds, before regaining her composure and continuing towards her Calculus class. Alan ran after her, followed by Kae. "Well?" "Please tell me that you didn't say that." She swiveled around, surprising Alan into stopping and causing Kae to bump into his back. "Dammit, this ruins us! He knows who you are, and that you hang out with me and Kae, AND that he's closer to all the teachers plus YOUR dad than any of us are!" She gave a frustrated moan and continued her walking. "This is all your fault! Kae, dissasociate!" she commanded. Kae perked up and ran to her side, sneaking Alan one last quiet "sorry" before cutting off their eye contact. Alan stopped in mid-stride. "Oh, come on! You guys!" They continued walking, and Alan was appalled as Kari gave the middle finger behind her back. Someone behind him laughed; some girl that Alan never saw before with dreads and a book in her hand. He stormed off, busting into the bathroom and staying there for a good half hour. Allegra, quite amused at the sight, walked into Calculus, observing Kari and Kae talking amongst themselves. She sat down behind them, unnoticed as usual. "Kari, that was kinda mean." "No. You just don't have what it takes to survive in this world." She sighed. "Where would you be without me... anyway, we need to lay low for a while. Start acting nice to other students, play extra suck-up to the teachers, and most importantly, get away from Alan. Jake Gregory has the power to make our break us in this hell-hole of a school, so we just need to avoid the bang." "How do we... how do we even know Jake is even friends with Dee anyway? Maybe it was only a random, one-time fling of do-goodness." Kari gave an immensly sceptical look. "Seriously, now. Jake's been here three school years, and people get beat up every school day. That's at gotta be at least... eight hundred days of bullying, none of which Jake even lifted a finger to stop until this guy. I'd say he and Dee are friends. And this also means that WE have an obligation to destroy Dee before he gets any more powerful." Mr. Conway strode into the room and closed the door behind her. Kari immediately sat up in her chair. "Hi, Mr. Conway! Did you get a haircut?" * * * "And then, she just sucked up to Mr. Conway! Without end! It didn't stop at all during the period. I mean, look at her now- " Allegra referred Dee to Kari in the front row, engaged in a jovial conversation with Ms.Goldfree. "Miscreant... Makes me sick." Dee sighed, a bit tired. "Does stuff like this happen every school year?" "Well..." Allegra gave a hopeless expression. "...now you know why I hate being here. Anyway, you have got to be more careful than ever. I'm sure Alan just hates the shit out of you by now, and Kari and Kae aren't exactly amorous either." "Well I don't- " Ms. Goldfree briefly paused her exchange with Kari, to look at the back of the class towards Dee. "Dee! Sh!" Dee slumped in his seat, now whispering to Allegra as Ms.Goldfree continued with Kari. "Hey, why didn't you get in trouble?" "Um... Didn't we go over this?" Allegra motioned to herself, then proceeded to stand up, out of the blue. No one even glanced at her as she waved her hands in the air and sat down. "My advice... Utilize your resources. I think you should stay close to Jake. If he's as chummy with you as you say, then he'll serve to be a very nice protector." In fact, Allegra's advice was easier to follow than Dee thought. About a week passed with little incidence; but at the beginning of lunch period, after Dee got out of Biology, he felt an arm on his shoulder. He turned around, and found Jake staring back at him. "Hey, Dee." Dee smiled. "Hi, Jake! Kinda been a while." "Is your lip better?" He motioned to his face, and Dee couldn't help but brush the spot on his lips that were chaffed earlier with the tips of his fingers. "Yeah, basically. What's up?" Jake started walking out the building, in the opposite direction of the cafetieria. He motioned for Dee to follow, and Dee obeyed. "I know you were a bit surprised last week. So as a sign of good will, I thought I'd introduce you to some of my other friends!" There was a bit of silence, as Dee processed what that might mean. He had no clue what Jake's friends would be like- a bit along the lines of Kari or Alan? Still, he pretended to be happy for now, since Jake seemed rather excited. "Oh, that's a good idea..." The two had exited the B building, and entered the back courtyard. There weren't quite as many people here, mostly solitary students studying for last minute pop-quizzes on the lone scattered tables. However, it was a very big field: Dee could see at the farthest end three or four cheerleaders practicing a routine in jeans and school wear. Jake guided him to an old shady oak tree smack dab in the middle of the grass. Dee saw three people from afar. The one furthest to the left was a short girl with blonde hair and pale skin like moonlight; she was rather short, dressed in clothes best described as "sk8ter," and her make-up plus her blue streaked dye job couldn't help but make Dee think of Avril Lavigne. Although she was indeed quite pretty, her face was stained with utter melancholy and plastered to the grass. Another person was about two feet to the right of her, a tall asian guy with about the same build as Jake, in a tight muscle shirt. Dee was surprised to see a cigarrette dangling in the corner of his mouth. He laughed wildly, as a pale guy with a backwards baseball cap whispered something in his ear. Both of them were constantly smiling. Jake and Dee walked up to their proximity, and as soon as Jake's presence was known the blonde girl smiled luminously. Dee stepped back a little as her gaze lit up, and she jumped onto him- her arms around his neck, and head on his shoulder. "Jake!" she yelped. The two guys continued their nearly perpetual laugh like an endless song, both giving their greetings to Jake. All three of them completely ignored Dee, and even Jake did for a time before he remembered that he was there. "Hey, guys. I want you to meet Dee. He's new here." As if by magic, Dee's existence was validated. The three of them smiled at his direction. Feeling a bit awkward, Dee just waved back. Jake motioned to the guy in the baseball cap. "Alright, so this here is Chris E." Chris nodded his head. Jake continued to the other guy. "and Rhandy-"Rhandy waved. "These two I've known since middle school, but they've known each other longer." "And this..." he finally reached the girl, who proceeded to cling to him again. "This is Jaina. She's my girlfriend." Jaina laughed and mouthed "Hi" to Dee, then kissed Jake on the cheek. Dee didn't know why, but something inside him was stirring upon seeing Jaina and Jake together. She touched his chest; something fluttered in Dee's. His lips brushed hers; Dee could've sworn he was turning red. They smiled at each other. Dee, not sure what else to do, gently cleared his throat. The two of them, still smiley, turned to look at Dee. Jaina leaned on Jake, and she lazily spoke to Dee. "So Dee, what school did you come from?" she drawled. Dee snapped out of his daze, hesitating a little on purpose, to maybe throw her off. After several moments of awkward silence, he responded almost reluctantly. "Um... Diana Celes High." Dee saw Rhandy and Chris exchange glances in the corner of his eye, but they didn't say anything. Jaina's eyes widened, and her mouth gaped open. "DIANA CELES? No way! That school is nothing but psychos!" she laughed, and now Dee knew for sure he was turning red. Jaina turned around towards Rhandy and Chris, who were both purposfully quiet. "Remember in the papers? Last year, a teacher committed suicide. Then a couple of months ago, there was a shooting. And like, not only was there a teacher student molestation, but two girls like, committed a double suicide!" Jaina was cracking up, and Chris began to chuckle a little. "I mean, sorry dude, your school is screwed up!" Chris gave a rather stereotypical dumb jock guffaw. "Yeah, man, my sister's friend used to go there. She says the teachers sucked, and there were just all these fuckin' freaks! She even used to have a friend who was having sex with one of the teachers!" Jaina laughed harder. "Daaamn!" But Dee was utterly silent. Any pretenses of a smile on his face were gone. He was getting teary-eyed. Jake finally noticed, and carefully examined his expression. Chris and Jaina stopped. He didn't speak; grasping his books close to his chest, Dee spun on his foot and walked briskly in the opposite direction. Jaina let go of Jake, who jerked his arm free from her. He yelled after him. "Hey, wait, Dee! Dee!" He looked angrily at his friends. Rhandy and Chris just shrugged, and Jaina looked confused. "What's his problem?" Jaina asked, as she flipped her hair out of her face. "Well, I don't know, you were only acting like assholes! Goddamn! It only took five minutes being around you!" Jake grunted in frustration. He ran after Dee. Rhandy leaned in to talk to Jaina, a bit befuddled. "Touchy, anybody?" Jaina shook her head, a bit upset that Jake left so easily. "Whatever. He'll be back. You guys wanna play cards or something?" * * * "Fun" fact for fans!: Being an avid final fantasy fan (as noted by one of my other stories, FF Rosa), I know quite a bit about that universe. In fact, I think I know a little too much about it, because I let it influence my subconscious, which really isn't cool. "Diana Celes" got its name from what I thought were two different moon goddesses. I knew Diana was the Roman equivalent of Artemis, and for some reason I thought Celes was the Greek equivalent of Luna... but I realized upon further thought that was actually Selene. Where did I get Celes? A character from Final Fantasy VI. Oh, lord. Chapter three! Whoo! No, I'm not neglecting this story. I just, err, have kinda crazy cycles, I realized. I think CR, FF Rosa, and PA are in one cycle, and Teth, DC, and Hallow are in another. Haha, whoops :D. That doesn't mean I love one more than the other! I'm just sort of a procrastinator. The secret of Dean is about to be revealed! Just what is he hiding? And what will Jake think of it? What about Jaina? I really don't like her, I'm sorry. Haha, there are many characters I write out that I love to hate, but Jaina I genuinely don't like. That's kinda weird :P. Questions? Comments? Recommendations? Fan Mail? Hate Mail, maybe? If you like Diana Celes, maybe there's the very vague possibility you'll like other stories I've submitted: Charmed Reborn (celebrity), Final Fantasy Rosa (celebrity), Pokemon: Amethyst (celebrity), Teth (fantasy), and Hallow (sci-fi/fantasy).
