Chapter 22: The Stars Align in Threesomes As I stared out the airplane window, I found myself staring at the clouds. The nervousness I had of flying were nothing compared to the nervousness I had of going back to Hargrove. I sighed to myself, wiping a tear away and thought about why I was going back. How could this happen? As I sniffled, Archibald put his hand over mine, " It'll be alright, Angel." he smiled. I nodded and put my head on his chest, " I cannot believe I'm going back for this. I never thought this would happen." I frowned, " And in the middle of my Senior year!" Archibald patted my back, " It's okay, babe, let it out." he said, comforting me. "It's not okay, how can this happen?!" I asked. "I don't know, but it'll be alright." Archibald whispered. "This plane could fall from the sky and the thing is I can't stop thinking about..." I paused when I saw a few people looking at me, " Sorry." Archie frowned at them and they turned around, " Is there a problem?" he asked. The people said nothing, but turned around. Obviously P.O.'ed by his lack courtesy. "We're almost there." he smiled, looking out the window, " I can't wait until we're married with kids. Of course we'll probably have to adopt or use one of our sisters' eggs." "I vote on the egg thing." I smiled, " And that sounds nice, but we're not getting married for about three years." "Maybe I'll get us a puppy." Archie said randomly. "Can we name it Mr. Pickles?" I asked. "Anything you want, babe." Archie smiled, snuggling me closer. - - - - - - - - - - Hannah folded clothes on the bed, trying not to even think about what was going on. She was so shocked. Who on Earth could have predicted that something this bad would happen here? Let's face it, Hargrove wasn't the most fun-filled town, but this was outrageous! How could something sooooo soooo sooo bad happen to anyone in this town? What could make a person...who would.... "Hey honey, are you okay?" Zack asked, walking into the room. "Yeah, why?" Hannah asked, still folding clothes. "You were folding that shirt when I left twenty minutes ago." Zack smiled, kissing her on the cheek. Hannah nodded and placed the clothes back on the bed, " Maybe I'm not as...Maybe I'm freaked out. Maybe I'm beyond freaked, maybe I'm scared." she said softly, " I just, I don't know how something like that could happen." Zack pulled her close, " It's okay. Look, you're my wife, I said for better or worse and this is just one of those worse moments." he held up his hand, flashing his wedding band, " This means that you'll never have to go through things like this alone." "I love you." Hannah smiled through her tears, hugging him, " I can't believe...it hits you when you least expect it." "I know, baby." Zack said, " So, is Adaen coming?" Hannah wiped her eyes and walked to the bed of unfolded clothes, " I wouldn't know, I haven't seen him since Davis' game in New York." she said, " I was such an ass with him." "I'm sure he can forgive you." Zack said, " It's been some time." Hannah shook her head, " I don't know. We'll cross that bridge if he comes." she said quickly. "Right, remember, the funeral's tomorrow." Zack reminded her, walking to her and kissing her forehead, " I love you." "I love you too." Hannah said softly. - - - - - - - - - - When Davis pulled up at the florist, he was shocked to see Christina, who was totally disshovled and had been crying, coming from inside. Her pink and blue pajamas looked as if she had worn them for days and her hair looked as if it hadn't been washed longer than that. Davis was shocked, especially after going away to college and seeing that the girls in Florida always tried to look their best. Davis had success in basketball and his grief had only fueled him. Seeing Adaen in New York hadn't hurt his game. But he couldn't really say the same for his heart. Adaen had let him in on a secret though...he wasn't the only one hurting. Yes, Adaen had slept with his archenemy, who happened to be his brother, but they weren't together then. There was no reason for Davis to be insecure. Adaen had loved him. He wondered if Adaen was coming. There was that question again, was Adaen coming? It had been all he could think about since New York, hell, since graduation. Who could have guessed that things would have changed so much? "Hey." Davis said quickly. "Hi, Davis." Christina said, hugging him, " It's so good to see you again." "Ditto." he said, looking to the store and back, " You buying flowers for..." "Yeah." she said quickly, " Yeah, I...just, really can't...function." "I'm sorry." Davis said. "So..." they both said, giggling afterward. "How long are you in town?" Christina asked. Davis thought about it, " For a few days, then I'm going back." he said. "So, have you seen your stalker?" Christina asked. Davis felt rage build in him, " Stop calling him that!" he said angrily, " Have you ever thought it was the other way around?" "What're you trying to say?" Christina asked. "You started a rumor that ruins someone else, and you don't care! Because you were trying to hold on to something that ended before we even broke up. Get over it." Davis growled, walking past her and into the store. Christina stood, there, staring into the distance. She felt this ugly feeling in her stomach, but shook it off and walked away. - - - - - - - - - - Kendall sat in a church. She didn't know which one, just a church. She felt odd, she'd lived here and she couldn't tell you what church this was. She had come a few days ago, but Adaen had decided to stay in New York until the funeral. Kendall had to go. It wasn't an option. She had so many questions, on the top of the list was why was she in a church? she had never been a church girl, never. She put her head in her hands and began sobbing. She felt someone put their hands on her shoulder and patted her back. "A church, Ken doll?" Ballard said slowly, " Imagine us in a church." he said, looking around. Kendall hugged him, " What're you doing here?!" she said, " I thought you couldn't make it." "Yeah, my plans fell through." he smirked, " She had to go out of town." "That's sad." she chuckled. "How long you been in here?" Ballard asked, looking around. "Don't you miss sixteen? I mean, when the biggest problem was who had cooties." Kendall sniffled. "Cooties? You mean sixth grade?" he asked. "No." she replied, " Crabs and such." "Oh." he nodded. "There needs to be music in the background like a church-ish, world of dissolution type thing." Kendall said. Ballard just looked at her, awestruck, " You've been hanging with Adaen too long." he smiled, looking around, " Do you think we'd have turned out different if Dad and Mom would have actually been parents?" Kendall looked at him for a moment, " Yes. I blame them for us being like this." she said. "What's wrong with us?" he asked. "We're orphans." she said. "We're not that bad." Ballard said, " We're...we're...just..." "A slut and...a whore." she said, " Don't ask which is which." "I really wasn't going to." Ballard sighed, " Is that really a bad thing?" Kendall stared at him. "Right." he said simply. - - - - - - - - - - As the car came to a stop, I smiled to see my home. I was afraid of this, the moment when I returned home and realized that I missed it. I missed this little place and every memory that went with it. Archie grabbed my hand and I looked at him, knowing that I'd make new memories. As we walked to the house, the door opened and Mom, Dad, and Eric welcomed me. I felt like I was comfortable again. "Honey, it's so nice to have you back home!" Mom said delighted. "Son, my son the New Yorker." Dad said, hugging me too. "Hey, lil' bro." Eric smiled, hugging me, " This is Archibald Stephen, right?" "Right." Archie said, shaking my brother and dad's hands, then hugging my mom, " Your home is beautiful." "Thank you." Mom said quickly. "Ummm, where's Kya?" I asked. "She...went back to the office for some immediate business." Dad smiled. Archie smiled. "That's code for she didn't want to see us." I explained. "Sweetie...." Mom started. "Don't worry, she'll get over it." Eric said, " Umm, I'll show you to the guest room, Archie." Archie nodded, " I'll see you in a bit." he said, following Eric upstairs. "Ummm, sweetie, you might have to sleep in the other guest room..." Mom said softly. "What's wrong with my room?" I asked, picking up my bags and starting up the stairs, " I'm sure it'll be fine." I walked faster and faster. I wanted to get settled so I could have 'personal' time with Archie. I opened the door to my room and was shocked when I opened it to see Pink...everywhere! "What the fuc..." the younger girl started, then she smiled, " Hey cousin." "Hope." I said indifferently, " How are you?" "I'm good." she smiled, " There is a totally hot guy." I stared at her, my little slutty all grown up to be a very grown up slut. "Oh...yours." she smirked, " Told 'em." "Right." I smiled, " Guest room." "So you're here for that funeral...Tracy, Jennifer....umm...." "Julie." I said simply, " Her name is Julie." - - - - - - - - - - Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.
