Don't like gay people, leave. Go...bye. But if you like it, read it and

Write to me.

I sat in my room watching Scott Clifton (Seriously cute guy who played Liam on The Bold and the Beautiful) on his YouTube page, Theoretical Bullsh!t. I had been locked up in my room for a day or two. I didn't really leave to eat. Every now and then Hope would bring me some food up. Eric would occasionally knock on the door, but I never opened it for him. Same with mom. Kya was more stand-offish; she knew I needed to be alone. After watching the cute atheist (Which I'm not), I minimized the page and pulled up iTunes, flipping on some Paramore. The Only Exception. There was a knock at the window and I looked up to see Oz, on the second floor window. Weird much? I walked over and reluctantly opened the window.

"Can't you just look at porn, like regular guys?" Oz asked, looking at the computer, "Listening to some douchey atheist bitch about stuff is really weird."

"As opposed to hanging around outside the second story window?" I asked, "How long were you there? And what are you doing here?"

"I came to check up on you. It's not every day you see somebody get reamed in front of everyone at a party." Oz said, looking around, "This is your room? Where's the posters of all the hot guys and stuff?"

"You think I'm a walking stereotype, huh?" I asked.

"No, just, most guys are all...out." Oz said.

"I'm not most guys. I'm not overly sexual at all." I said, "Why are we talking about this? You've never seen someone get chewed out in front of a whole party? Shows that you've never been to a party with me."

"That happens to you often?" Oz asked.

"Nope," I said, "just every time I go to a party. It's a long story."

"I've got time before my shift." Oz said, "Hit me."

I smiled and sat on the bed, starting my story at the beginning.

Chapter 43: The Only Exception

Ballard was nursing a really bad hangover. He had gotten drunk last night and on a list of things he remembered doing...well, there was no list. He didn't remember anything. He could barely remember his last name this morning. The ice pack on his head attested to that fact. The Mansion was pretty much wrecked and Kendall was nowhere to be found. Neither were the rest of his `friends'. He picked up a glass and threw it at the wall, causing it to shatter against the wall! He was unpleasantly surprised when there was a knock at the door. Ballard stumbled over to the door and opened it, only to get punched to the ground. He put his hand to his nose to check for blood before looking up at Eric, who stood, enraged.

"You son of a bitch!" Eric seethed.

Ballard groaned before picking himself up off the ground, "Hey, it's older bro." he said, "Any reason you just hit me in the face?"

"What?" Eric asked, "You don't know why I'm about to kick your ass?!"

Ballard scoffed, "Kick my ass, right." He said, "What's this all about?"

"You don't remember last night?" Eric asked.

"I was a little drunk." Ballard said, "The kind where I don't really remember anything."

"You embarrassed my brother, in front of everybody. You don't remember calling him a faggot in front of everybody? Basically calling him a slut?" Eric asked.

Ballard was shocked, "You're kidding! I didn't...I couldn't have..." he said, trying to remember, "You're serious?"

Eric made to punch him again.

"Okay, you're serious!" Ballard said, causing him to stop, "Where is he?"

"Oh no!" Eric said, appalled, "You stay away from my brother! You come near him again and I swear I'll vaporize you!" he said, turning.

"You think you scare me?" Ballard asked, "You can't always protect him."

Eric turned to him, "You might be right, but I can protect him from you, dick! You come near him again and I swear I'll make you beg for torture." He said, leaving.

Ballard sighed and leaned on the door. Had he really said something so vile last night? But he was drunk...they had to know, right? What else had he said?

-

"So, you slept with your best friend because your...ex went with his ex and they fought at graduation...and then, you went to New York?" Oz asked, "I thought my life was difficult. So, after all the things they've done to you, why are you still friend with them? I mean...they all seem like dicks."

I chuckled to myself, "Maybe you're right, but they're my friends." I said, "Haven't you ever had friends like that?"

Oz chuckled.

"What?" I asked.

"Most of my friends are locked up." Oz smirked.

"And that funny?" I asked.

"You live in this little world where you think everyone is like you and your friends." Oz chuckled, "You think everyone grew up with friends and an actual happy childhood."

"Your parents seem normal. How could you have possibly had that bad a childhood?" I asked.

"Because not all people who had children actually wanted them..." Oz explained, "They wanted a perfect family, two parents with one child."

"That's the perfect family?" I asked.

"To them? Yeah." He chuckled.

"Is that why you're all gay or bi?" I asked.

"Gay or b...I'm not!" He protested.

"You kissed me." I said.

"I felt sorry for you." Oz said. I looked at him with anger, "That didn't sound good."

"Maybe because it wasn't good." I chuckled angrily.

"Look, I just meant that...Crap, I'm not gay." He frowned, "And we're friends. Just friends."

"Friend, I think you need to leave." I frowned.

"Aid..."

"No! Seriously, this is the last thing I want right now." I frowned.

"And exactly what is this?" Oz asked.

I walked to the window and opened it, "Somebody who is confused." I said, gesturing out it.

Oz sighed and climbed through the window without another word. I sighed and walked over to my phone, which had been on silent. I had about three texts, all saying the same thing.

-

When I showed up at the hospital, everyone was in the waiting room. I was afraid that something worse had happened to Harry. I liked Harry, he was a good guy. Never judged me or anything. Hannah looked totally out of it. Kendall comforted her while everyone else stood around. I was still shocked at the news. He'd been shot by accident in a robbery attempt. I walked over to Hannah and put my hand to her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry." I said softly.

Hannah nodded through tears.

"Is there any change?" I asked.

"He's still in surgery." Hannah sobbed, "They're saying he might not make it."

"He'll make it." I said quickly.

Just then, a doctor walked in. He was wearing bloody scrubs was very nice. He must have been about fourty-five, but was still very handsome.

"Doctor, is he..." Hannah asked frantically as Harry's parents and hers walked over to them.

"We were able to extract the bullets and get him in a more or less stable condition." The doctor said, "Only a few visitors, one or two."

"What about three?" Harry's dad asked.

"That's fun, but try not to overload him." The doctor said, leading them down the hall.

"Where've you been? I've been texting you all day!" Christina said, "We have a major situation."

"I know, that's why I'm here."

"No! Not this!" Christina groaned, "I mean this is bad, but he's alright. Your little cousin is cockblocking me!"

"Come again?" I asked.

"I like this guy and your cousin likes him too. But he's way too old for her." Christina said, "And she's becoming a pain in my ass."

"As much as I want to help you get re-laid, I think I'm staying out of this one." I frowned.

"Good," Kendall said, "Especially because Alvaro doesn't even want you."

"And he wants you?" Christina asked.

The two girls began arguing.

"Girls!" Marco said, "This isn't the time or place."

"You're right." Christina said, "I think I'll just go and see him." She said leaving.

"HEY!" Kendall said, running after her.

"I'm glad they're gone." Ballard said, walking over to me, "So, about the party..."

"I don't want to hear it." I frowned.

"I get it, you're mad..."

"I'm actually not. I thought that after everything we've been through, you'd changed into a halfway decent guy." I frowned, "Not even close."

"Adaen..." Ballard said, grabbing my arm.

"Let his arm go." Davis said, swatting his arm away.

"Thank you." I said.

"I'm sure he has to get back to screwing his new boyfriend." Davis said.

"What?" I asked.

"I mean, it doesn't take much for him to move on. I mean, if you've got the time, he's got the..."

"Davis, what are you talking about?" I asked.

"You know, I haven't been the best boyfriend, but you downgraded for that jackass?" Davis asked, "We all saw you."

My heart began to pound and my palms were a little sweaty. I felt like I was caught, but I wasn't. He couldn't know about Oz and if he did, we're not together. We're friends. Oz and me, as well as Davis and me.

"That explains why didn't want to get back with me." Davis said, "I mean, you just jump into bed with anyone! You're pathetic! The worse thing about what Ballard said is that it's the truth."

"Davis..." Marco said.

"No! He's not much more than a cum rag." Davis said.

"Is that how you see me? I'm just somewhere to hide your cum?" I asked.

"I wanted to be with you but now...I wouldn't touch you." Davis said, "You should have stayed at college through the break because no one here wants you to be here."

"You're an ass!" I frowned, "You actually think...Even if I was dating him, why would you care? I've had other boyfriends besides you and that makes me a big ole hoe? I can count the people I've slept with, can you?"

"This isn't about me."

"Of course not! This is about me! If I'm such a slut, then why have been celibate since I've been in college?" I asked.

"This is going too far." Marco said.

"You can't make us unsee you making out with that guy!" Davis said, "This is classic you! You're hurt so you turn to the nearest warm body."

"Seriously, shut up!" Ballard said angrily, "I was a dick for saying that and so are you! I was wrong. I saw you with the same guy and made the same snap decision!"

"You know what the mistake is?" Davis asked angrily, "Thinking he cares about anyone but himself." He said, leaving.

"Thank you for standing up for me." I said to Ballard, "Doesn't change anything other than maybe I was wrong about you changing."

Ballard smile.

"You should pass that on to your wife." I said, walking away.

-

When I walked into my room, all the lights were off. I walked over to my bed and sat down my phone and keys. I walked over to a lamp and clicked it on and suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind and clasped their hand over my mouth! I fought back at first before a familiar voice whispered for me to relax. My body stiffened at the voice.

"It's okay," Oz said softly, releasing me.

I jabbed him in the air, "Don't ever do that!" I frowned, "What are you doing in my room?"

"I was waiting on you."

"Creepy."

"I had to see you one last time." Oz said.

"What are you talking about? One last time?" I asked.

"I have to leave." Oz frowned, "I did something...something bad."

"What did you do?" I asked, expecting him to reveal that this was a joke.

"I went into a store and I tried to rob it." Oz explained.

"Why? You have a job and rich parents and..." I paused, "What did you do?"

"I tried to rob it and I accidentally shot someone." Oz said quickly.

I slowly came to the realization.

"It was your friend." Oz said slowly.

I stared at him, processing what he just said. I didn't understand. He didn't need the money...or maybe he did. He could have asked anyone for the money, Hell, I would have given it to him.

"I have to get out of here."

"You're going on the run?! That's stupid." I frowned.

"I didn't mean to shoot him. I swear." Oz said, "I can't go to jail...again."

"Oz..."

"I couldn't leave without telling you that you were right." Oz said quickly, "I do feel something for you. A whole lot of something, but we can't...I'm not gay."

"I never asked you to be." I said sadly.

Oz chuckled, "You're one of a kind, ya know." He said, "Don't ever let anyone change you."

"You could turn yourself in."

"Not with my record." Oz said.

"Where are you going to go?" I asked.

"I shouldn't tell you." Oz said, "Then you'll be an accessory."

"If I let you go, it changes everything." I said slowly.

Oz nodded

"Go." I said quietly.

Oz grabbed my face, pulling me into a kiss. When we parted, he walked to the window and opened it. He thanked me again and I nodded. I stared after him as he slid out the window and out of my life.

-

"What are we doing here?" Davis asked as Ryan guided him into an apartment.

"It's time to bring you into this plan." Ryan said.

Davis looked around, noticing pictures of Adaen.

"What is this?" Davis asked, looking around.

"Who's he?" A red-head asked.

"Leslie, this is my boyfriend Davis." Ryan said, "He wants in."

"In on what?" Davis asked.

"We're taking down Adaen." Leslie said quickly.

"What?" Davis asked.

"For years, he's been getting away with everything and everyone suffers for his mistakes." Leslie explained.

"He doesn't care who he hurts." Ryan said.

"It's time we ruin him just like he's ruined our lives." Leslie said.

"I kind of get you, Ryan, but what'd he do to you?" Davis asked.

"This is Larry's sister." Ryan said, "Are you in?"

Davis surveyed the room, "I'm in." he said without hesitation.

"Let the games begin." Leslie smiled.
