[ Part 2, Text/PLAIN (Name: "Untitled - Chapter 2.txt") 159 lines. ] [ Unable to print this part. ] I regained my objectiveness and was able to proofread Corey's paper during 2nd period Civics class. I advanced well ahead in the class and spent most of my time there doing other work. The teacher didn't seem to mind. As I walked into the library at twenty after nine, I saw Corey sitting at the far end of the room waiting anxiously by the lounge chairs. I walked over to him, feigning a smile to hide my own anxiety, and motioned for him to follow me. "Let's use a study room; there is a class in here this period." I suggested confidently. He answered with an excitable `OK' and jumped from his seat to follow me. We made our way to the study room furthest from the lounge, hoping to avoid the noise of sophomores doing their first research paper. I sat my books on the table and pulled out his research paper. "The only real problem I saw was your use of passive voice," I acknowledged. "Yeah, I guess my personality shows in the way I write," he answered with an air of disappointment in himself. "You just have to remember to stay away from the passive keywords. Do you remember what they are?" "I remember `is', `are', `am', and `be'." "Just remember: is, are, was, were, am, be, been, have, has, had," I replied rhythmically. "I don't know. You're just smarter than I am," he spoke with discontent. "Hey now," I retorted, giving him a pat on the back that included a slight rub, "you are a very smart person. I see the way you are in math class. I could never do that kind of math." The warmth of his body echoed through his clothes and made its way through my hand, traveling up my body and sending my stomach into a loop. My compliment sparked a smile as he turned his head upward to look at me. "Yeah, I guess I am good at math." "Hey, whaddya say we skip the rest of the day and go to my house? I just got a great new sound system in my room and I want you to hear it." My braveness surprised even myself, but I hoped he would agree to tag along. "But if you get caught, won't you lose your spot in the game tonight?" He seemed authentically concerned with the well-being of my athletic eligibility. "They need me too much to make me sit out a game." "Oh, Ok...cool. I really don't feel like being here anyways." My heart jumped in an excitement as he agreed. I could feel my crotch starting to swell at the thought of being alone with Corey in my house. I jumped out of my seat and Corey quickly followed, leading the way out of the library. I watched the form of his tight, firm ass as he walked with an almost arrogant pride about him. I had once seen him in his boxers during gym class last year, and that image was the focus of many nights I spent alone in my bed. "My car is in the upper lot." I could barely get out the words as the excitement grew more and more intense. We edged quietly down the hall and out the back doors to the upper lot. My car was near the back of the lot, so we made our way between the rows of cars until we spotted our destination: A sparkling red grand prix, complete with spoiler and ground effects. "God, I love your car!" Corey said excitedly. "My parents would never dream of buying me a car like this!" "Well, I actually paid for most of it. My mom and dad only put $3000 toward it." "Where did you get all the money?!" "From the time I was 12 years old, I would work summers with my uncle doing landscaping." "Oh. That's why you are so damn tan. That's probably why you're so strong, too. I wish I had a body like yours." I was surprised to find out that Corey envied my body. He seemed generally happy with his own body and seemed to take care of himself well. My stomach continued in a loop as I imagined Corey running his fingers along my chest and down my stomach. I quickly unlocked my car and sat down, trying my best to hide the swelling currently taking place in my groin area. Corey opened his door and sat down with his book-bag between his legs. "Do you have your license?" I asked curiously. "Yeah, but I don't have a car. My mom lets me take her car if I need it, but said that if I want my own car I have to buy it myself." "Ouch. That's a shitty deal," I replied, reaching for the cigarettes and lighter hiding in my armrest. "I didn't know you smoked," Corey spoke nervously. "There is probably a lot about me you don't know," I answered, trying to stir his imagination. "I know you got a scholarship offer from Penn State," he retorted, "and I know that you had sex with Marissa Bowman in the bathroom at McShulty's." With complete surprise, I tried hard to defend myself. "Who told you that?" "Everyone knows about it. I remember hearing Gary talk about how he could hear you groaning from 100 feet away." "Oh my god, I can't believe he told everyone about that," I replied, my cheeks now looking more like tomatoes. "Don't be embarrassed. I'm still a virgin." "No way! Are you serious?" I asked, surprised by his modesty. "Yeah, I only got to first base." "Yeah, well, Marissa wasn't that great, to tell you the truth." "Are you kidding me? She has the biggest tits I've ever seen!" He said, nearly shouting. "Yeah, well..." I couldn't think of a clever response, so I let my words taper off. With that, the remainder of the ride was speechless, save for the occasional song lyric belted out by me. I am not ashamed by my singing ability, although many people tell me I'm tone deaf. Corey didn't seem to notice, either way, instead concentrating on the road ahead with a pondering look on his face. As I stopped in my driveway, I pulled the emergency brake on, brushing up against Corey's leg in the process. Once again, I could feel the warmth of his skin as it sent shockwaves through my body. As my heart dropped to my feet, I turned the ignition off and opened my door. In a sad attempt at showing off, I slid across the hood of my car, succeeding only in tripping myself and nearly falling flat on my face. "You're goofy," remarked Corey after a brief laugh. "This is good practice for when I become Mark Vernon, Super- Cop!" I boasted in my best super-hero voice. Corey laughed and followed me into my house via the basement door. The basement belonged entirely to me, thanks to some shoddy design work on the part of the architects. I used the vast amount of space wisely, with my entertainment center directly across from my bed, which happened to be the pull-out bed of a couch. In boredom, I had put up sets of flashing lights and a multi-colored disco-ball, to give the room more effect when I had one of my many mini-parties. Corey seemed to be in awe of it all. I set my backpack beside the couch and plopped myself down on the end cushion. Corey did the same just opposite of me. "Want to watch a movie?" I asked hoping to show off my new entertainment system. "Sure! What should we watch?" Corey replied sounding genuinely excited. "Go pick one," I said as I motioned Corey towards my bookcase filled with DVDs. He browsed for a while, pulling out several to read the backs before stopping at the one movie I hoped he wouldn't see. "We should watch this one," he said with a coy smile before handing the case to me. The movie was Beautiful Thing, an English drama about two boys who find love and solace in one another despite the hardships of apartment living. I had no clue why I had the movie on the bookcase with the rest of them; it was usually hidden in my closet lockbox with the rest of my collection of gay pornography. Nonetheless, he had found it, and I could not turn down a chance to watch one of my favorite movies. I pulled the DVD out of the case and inserted it into the slot of my DVD player, then grabbed my large all-in-one remote from the top of the TV before returning to my spot on the couch. I pressed a few buttons and the movie started to play in 7 channel surround sound, complete with dual subwoofers that hid beneath the end-tables of the couch. As the title screen waved by, my nervousness began to subside. Maybe he is just curious as to what the movie is like, I thought to myself. "Mark, can I ask you somethin'?"
