Chase McPhee % There was a 'plan B' Tom and Kyle had worked out, if by chance things didn't progress along. Talking cell to cell, Tom viewed pictures Kyle had sent him of both Chad and Peter. Originally Tom had thought Chad was too cute for him! Adding the superlatives, right after meeting Chad, Kyle said he would be a great find by any man. Of course, Kyle cautioned Tom, 'he' would have to be the one to fill in the missing link to the chain, how good Chad was in bed! Alex was mystified, but not totally bonked out when Kyle offered himself and his lover up to play 'lifeguard' to the kids, when Tom invites Chad to take a look at the back lot of the property, containing a small cottage and inactive stables. "Okay. What's up now?" Alex asks Kyle as they bask out in the sun chairs. Fortunately both had worn boxer briefs, which doubled as swim trunks, since they were ill-equipped in that respect. Commently on just that fact, Kyle evades the question, "Your boxers look awesome when they're wet, Alex!" Going along, Alex smiles and says, "Thanks," but retreats to the original theme, "now what's Tom's designs on Chad?" At this point Kyle thought it a good lead in to educate Alex, "Very first thing I had said to Tom when I called, with all intentions of him finding a place for Chad, is 'how's your partner?'. Tom put a spin on my ears, taking up the next five minutes, telling me of how their relationship was dissolved, walked right out on him and the boys and the mess which ensued." "No way. But Tom is such a nice guy!" Alex exclaims, and, "Monte and Tris... they're such nicely behaved boys!" "Bottom line, Alex, Tom says his 'ex' was cheating on him." "Oh, that's not good," Alex replies. Kyle then reckons, "It's also not good if Chad and Tom don't click, because I'm the one who built Chad up," adding after a silence, "and Peter too!" Looking to the pool, watching Tris, Monte and Peter horsing around, Alex replies in a remorseful tone, "I think Tris and Monte are sold on Peter. It's going to be tough breaking them apart!" Meanwhile, at the back lot to the property, Tom escorts Chad to the small cottage. "Looks like nobody's lived here in awhile," Chad says of just the outside, weeds and vines overgrown. He walks up to the front door and looks in through the glass, saying, "Same with the inside." On the creaky porch, Tom figures this is a good place to start, a prelude to whatever is to follow, "The mess on the inside is partially my fault." Chad gives eyewitness report, "Looks like somebody trashed the place." Of course, with Tom saying something to the effect, he was curious, but then again it drew out feelings from his own past, of how his former lover presented his leaving, grieving, Chad wanted to do the same, trash his own world. Reaching past Chad's thigh, to the door knob, turning it, Tom replies, "Yeah." Momentarily Chad stood there, feeling Tom's chest on his back. Gone was the wet feeling from the pool, leaving a sticky feeling to the contact. A bit awkward, it compelled Chad to move forwards, into the cottage. "Welcome to the mess I made!" Tom said it with both humor and fear. He figures if Chad conceived things in a certain perspective, he would bolt for the door, grab Peter and be on their way out of his and his kids lives. "Sure 'is' some mess," Chad replies, squatting down to pick up a canvas, front to the floor. "Looks like someone was trying to paint something?" Tom knew it was a lead in question. However, as they even make approach to the cottage, he was already thinking of 'how much' to divulge, as far as his past life was concerned. As Chad stands, Tom cautions, "Careful! There might be glass on the floor." "Oh?" Chad thinking this part of Tom's story. "Yeah. I was quite angry that day I..." he stuttered. And even though Chad had all along been pressing for details, "You don't have to tell me." Walking back to the door, Chad followed, a sign perhaps he had been brought here as a focal point of Tom's confession. Back outdoors, Tom closes the door behind them, but doesn't lock it. "I left everything as is from the day I found Vincent and his lover together upstairs." They both sat on the porch step, Tom picking off the tops of weeds, throwing them to the distance as he poured his heart out over a love-gone-wrong. A lull in Tom's story, far cry from the conclusion, but a good place to temporarily wrap it up, Tom asks, "So what's your story?" Kyle had already given Tom sketchy details of the love of Chad's life, but it was fitting to hear it from the source. "Nothing much to say," Chad explains in a one sentence monologue, "he gave me a choice of going away with him and leaving Peter. I couldn't leave Peter." Tom confesses, "I loved Vincent, but I love Tris and Monte more. I 'had' to shield them from what was happening to our relationship."

"Of course you did," Chad says. "How could you not?" Then it finally occured to Chad, taking his own advice into consideration, how could 'he' not? A sniffle on Tom's part started the two into an all out crying fit. Tom, wiping his nose on his bare arm, says, "I guess we're a couple of big babies, huh?" "I don't have a tissue, but could lend you my..." Chad tugs at the pair of briefs he's wearing. "Nah, but..." Tom stares at Chad, "thanks for helping me try to get over this." With confession time pending, Chad replies, "No, I think I need to listen more to myself than trying to give advice out to somebody else." Regardless of whatever has transpired, Chad looks down at his lap, after feeling a hand on his thigh. Tom then offers, "If it wasn't for having Tris and Monte around I think I would've gone crazy, except..." Chad's felt the same regarding Peter, but he wondered if what Tom was getting to is, "A little lonely in the night time?" Tom withdrew his hand in place of saying something. "I don't mind it there," Chad replies, picking Tom's hand up and replacing it on his lightly haired thigh. Turning back to smiling at Chad, Tom says, "You know, when Kyle called me, it took awhile, after he told me about you looking for some prime Jersey land, he started playing match-maker?" Chad smiles back, replies, "I think his plan is working. What do you think?" By this time, Chad's hand had slipped around Tom's back and with the swim suit sagging, didn't give much in the way of fabric, to feel up. Tom's hand sliding on the inside of Chad's thigh, he replies in the affirmative, "Whether it's Kyle's plan or not, I'd like it to work?" Throwing it back into Chad's ballpark, the twenty year old blond says with humor, "I don't know."

"What don't you know?" Tom presses. "I never dated a man old enough to be my grandfather!" "Hush!" Tom states, giving Chad's thigh a friendly sting with a slap from his hand. "For your information I'm only thirty-two and you are?" Already Tom had guessed around twenty-one, -two. "Twenty, but pretty soon twenty-one?" Said as if he was asking if it was alright? A goof, Freudian slip, whatever, Tom replies, "Not much different than Kyle and me, when... that's not important." "Oh really?" Chad delve in, more on a humorous side, "Keeping things from me already?" Actually, Tom was glad of what he was hearing, something to the effect, Chad wanting to start something up. Two years ago he trashed the art studio in the guest cottage and except for one or two dates, he hasn't had a guy worth even thinking of measuring up to what he had. Too, it's not all the time somebody nice, handsome and easygoing is found from a friend's recommendation. But right at this moment in time he was more into Chad than sharing old times. "Alright if we discuss this later?" He asks of Chad, being persuasive by tilting his bod backwards onto the porch surface. Two seconds later, the oldest, Tris, is running into pool yard, screaming the good news, "They're kissing... they're kissing!" Of course Kyle and Alex knew what this meant, the kids probably taking the hint as well. Peter asks, "You mean Chad and your dad?" Monte says, "Hey, you made a rhyme Peter!" But Tris interrupts, "Yup. They was on the porch and before I could ask!" Kyle had put Tris up to running back and asking if they could go out for a bite to eat, not expecting to have him stumble upon anything significant! "Cool!" Peter says. And not that it would work out as such, he announces, "We're gonna be brothers!" Monte and Tris loved the idea, because already the trio were getting along perfectly well. Too, Chad and Tom made it a quickie and when they arrived back to the pool, it's Peter who pops the question to his brother, "When do we move in?" Tom, looking at Tris and Monte, his stare is enough to open up the floor for discussion. Tris confesses, with implication, "Kyle sent me to ask if we can go out and eat!" Like an evil look, Tom says to Kyle, "Oh so this is all Kyle's fault?" "I didn't say a word," Alex 'zips up' his mouth. He earns a fake slap in the stomach, Kyle replying, "It was your stomach growling." Monte stands next to Alex, staring at his stomach. "What?" Alex asks, looking down at his own bare gut. "It's got a hand there," Monte replies. "Oh-h-h-h," Alex replies, "will ya look at that?" The other night, Alex said this to Kyle, Peter picking up on it, "Get over it Mary!" Chad acted shocked, but when the kids started laughing, Kyle and Tom joined in, making it unanimous. % The kingpin, Chico, had everything squared away. He could care less about Drake Mcleod, the twenty-eight year old construction worker being led off the worksite by Tag Mogan. His eyes were set on Ellio. Whether temporary or longterm, Chico would do most anything to lure a hot man into his bed. He was a fast talker too and didn't give a shit he was holding up traffic, chatting in the middle of the road with Ronaldo Bustamente, "Hey Ronnie, how about driving Ellio's truck to your place and I'll pick it up later so I can spend some quality time with him?" He might've been new to the E. Hampton police force, but not a stranger when it came to male relationships, "I got a better idea. How about I drive the truck to my place and then the two of you come by to claim it?" That's how Chico figured it would go, though thinking Ellio might be too 'weak' for any other bedtime activities, but made it seem like Ronaldo couldn't put anything over on him, "That's how I was thinking it would work." Traffic flow commenced once again, Chico packing the troops back into the limo. "Lunch? I don't know," Drake says, "I'm kind of ripe," he meant from slaving in the ditch all morning. "Not a problem," Tag replies. And then electronically dropping the window between front and back, hollers, "Chico, call ahead and arrange a..." he was thinking one, but because they might have to delay lunch a bit, split the limo passengers into pairs, "have them reserve three cottages for our use." "Cottages?" Byron questions. "Like, where are going?" Micah, way ahead of him, asks Tag, "Not Point Bliss?" Tag just smiled. Having heard it some place, from one of the staff at CK's mansion, it cost some big bucks even to order a cocktail at the restaurant, so from secondhand account, Ellio replies, "Oh man, like a man's gotta have a big bank account to stay at that place!" Normally Chico would turn a deaf ear to conversation in the coach, but this wasn't any ordinary fare, not afraid to add his two cents, "Hey, the man," meaning Tag Mogan, "has got to have loot in half a million banks!" But all this talk was going right over Tag's head, what with his attention drawn to Drake Mcleod, moving his hand inside the construction worker's shirt. With Ellio up front, it left Micah and Byron in the back, about six feet from what transpired in the far rear seat. It had been on his mind, Micah telling Byron, "I was wondering about that." They were taking turns, plugging in and out of each others iPods, sampling downloads. "About what?" Byron questions him. "Drake." "What about him?" "He just asked Tag something about being too old to model." "You heard that from way up here?" Byron asks. "You had your buds in."

"Oh. Yeah," Byron replies, twirling them about on the white wire. "So, what about Drake's age? I think he looks good?" "I didn't say he didn't look good, all I'm saying is usually an entry level model is 'our' age." "Oh." And while they were unplugged, "so what do you want to do between now and dinner?" Micah was about to drop a subtle hint, "Well, Tag and Drake are going to be in their cottage, Ellio and Chico in their cottage... now what do you think we should do in 'our' cottage?" Unexpectant, Micah hears Byron say, "Um, like suck'n'fuck around?" "You took the words right-outta-my-mouth!" % Copyright 2010 T.
