The Future Is Reality

Chapter II

The Getaway!

Well it was finally the weekend; I had dropped Ares off at the airport while Nicki watched Sam at the house and made dinner. He was becoming quite the little cook lately since he was living by himself for the most part. I had Nicki pull his car into the garage since we were going to be taking mine with everything already is loaded up in it and ready for our week together as a family. I also had a very special surprise for Nicki. . .the ring that Ares had been lusting after for the last 3 years now.

This was also going to be the last week that Ares things were in my house. Dan had agreed to come over and watch the movers pack all of his things up and get rid of them and then move all of Nicki's things into the house. Ares still had his house back in Miami so everything was being sent there on my cost and the jet was taking him to Miami, not back here to Montana.

Some might say it's a crude way to say something, but I couldn't stand to look at him when I told him what I was doing. I knew he was going to hate me but maybe in the future he would understand and get over it, until then, it was better we were so far away.

"Hey Babe." I said, stepping into the kitchen as Sam sat in his highchair and Nicki worked at the stove.

"Hey Cutey." He smiled over his shoulder.

"I'll go give Sam a bath before dinner."

"Okay. He wanted to play with more of his food than eat it."

"Isn't that like always?" I laughed as I headed upstairs.

After an amazing dinner which I never even thought could have been homemade and putting Sam down for bed with Nicki at my side we went right upstairs to cuddle in bed before getting some sleep and having to be up at 4am to leave town. I found myself soon asleep with my body against his, my head against his chest listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart, and his strong arms encasing me in a world of warmth and a sense of security. That was how my life was going to come to a stop every night from now on.

"We're almost there Babe." I said as I patted his shoulder to break him from his light nap.

"Perfect." He yawned out.

It was only about half an hour more before we were pulling through the gate and down the long drag through the trees that shielded the house from the outside world. As Nicki was getting Sam out of his car seat while I was unlocking the door and disabling the alarm system. As soon as Sam hit the floor he went exploring, not very surprising, he was a two-year-old boy, I'm just thankful we weren't outside.

"Babe!" He called out with a bellowing laugh that I could almost feel rumbling through my own body. "Come here, quick!"

"What?" I asked walking into the kitchen from the living room.

"Look." Nicki said, stepping aside to give me the view of Sam climbing through the empty fridge.

"Oh my." I said trying to suppress the laughs. "I told you to stay out of the fridge!" I laughed, smacking Nicki on the arm.

"Oh no!" He laughed. "He did not learn this from me."

"And not from me." It was useless anymore; we were both dying of laughter all because of our son being the adventurous little boy he was.

"These are the things I love so much Baby." He said, tucking his arm around my waist as he pulled me into his side. As Sam turned his head back to look at us with a big smile and a giggle.

"Come on kiddo." I said, pulling him out of the fridge, tucking him under my arm as the giggles continue.

I walked out onto the deck, sitting on the lounge chair as I tickled his sides with Nicki standing over us with a smile from cheek to cheek. When I was done and felt he had gotten enough punishment he sat up, leaned over and wrapped his arms around my bicep, looking up at me with a smile and a giggle. He got up on his feet and walked towards Nicki with his arms out, wanting up. Nicki picked Sam up with ease and slung him over his shoulder.

"Dada!" Sam cried out with a giggle.

"You're just a bag of giggles kiddo." Nicki laughed as he flopped down on the lounge chair with Sam, setting him in his lap.

"Dada!" He repeated.

"He looks a lot like you." Nicki said to me as I sat down next to them both.

"I can see some Sammy in him too so that's also some of you I think?"

"Yeah, I see it every now and then." Nicki paused in though, looking at Sam who was putting the strings of Nicki's jacket in his mouth and looking around. "His adventurous side is really reminding me of Sammy."

"Same here. It's weird almost how much alike they are already."

"Yeah, I know what you mean." We sat in silence for a few minutes before Nicki moved Sam just enough for me lay against him with his legs up on either side of me and him putting Sam in my lap. Sam fiddled with my zipper as he sat in my lap and we looked out to the lake with Nicki's body heat keeping me warm.

"I love you Big-Guy." I said simply as I tilted my head to look up at Nicki whose vision was focused on the horizon.

"I love you too Little Boo."

"Come on, Sam's sleepy, huh kiddo?" I asked as Sam began slowly nodding off as he suckled on my strings. Nicki stood up from behind me, reaching down to pick Sam up and cradle him in his arms. He waited for me to get up before heading inside with me and following me to Sam's bedroom which we had put together when we first moved in with a bed, pictures of us together, everything that made it feel like his home and to make sure he felt safe whenever he slept at night. Nicki and I headed back downstairs to lounge around on the couch before we finally decided on what to do for dinner.

I found myself wrapped in Nicki's strong arms after he pulled me down onto the couch with him, more on top of him. He nuzzled his face into my neck, his lips tenderly touching the most sensitive areas that he knew too well by now. I turned myself over to face him, tucking my arms around his neck and tangling my fingers in his hair.

"Big-Guy, I love you with all my heart, you know that without a doubt. That'll never change." I started out, my eyes searching through his. "I'm sick of having to hide my love for you from everyone else. I love the risk and fun we have when we have to run around and hide from everyone but I want to walk down the street hand in hand without having to worry if someone sees us. In the mornings I want to turn over in your arms and see your face right there sharing my pillow. I want to spend the rest of my life with you; I can't think of anyone else that I could imagine doing any of that with." I said as I watched his eyes and they were smiling in their own way.

"I want that too Little Boo. I love you just as much, or at least I'm trying but it's hard. You've done so much for me."

"Because you've done so much more for me. I just want you to know that when we get back all of your things will be in the house with mine."

"Really!?" He slid under me, pushing me to sit up on his abs.

"Yup. Dan's taking care of it all." I smiled, leaning down to meet his lips.

"That's amazing." He said as our kiss broke.

"And one other thing." I smiled broadly.

"What's that?"

"Hold on Babe." I jumped off Nicki and headed back out to the Q7 to dig the ring out of the center-console. I flipped the black box open and pulled out the fairly shiny ring, as shiny as about 20 karats of black diamonds can be, covering a platinum band. Curling my hand around the ring I headed back inside and found Nicki lying on the couch like before with his hands folded behind his head.

"Close your eyes." I said as I stood in front of the couch. He smiled, pulled his hands from behind his head and placed them on his chest and closed his eyes. I returned to my spot on his abs, taking his hand in mine and spreading his fingers out as I gently slipped the ring on his finger biting my lip the entire time. Before telling him to open his eyes I touched his lips to mine and then pulled back after a brief second.

"Open." I said softly.

He looked down at his hand before looking back up at me and smiling even broader than before. He didn't have to say anything at all for me to know the answer because him pulling me into himself was all I needed. As our kiss deteriorated into small pecks that we shared back and forth our smiles grew wide.

"I love you Little Boo."

"I love you too Big-Guy. And I'm guessing that's a yes?"

"Of course. Is there anything else I can say?"

"I guess not."

"It's gonna feel weird with the ring on my finger all the time." He smirked placing his hands on my hips.

"Don't think of it as a ring, think of it as my heart and you have it around your finger."

"I like that. And once we get back, I'm going to get you a ring."

"Relax; I got us a matching set." I smiled, pulling out the same ring with the same small heart stone raised above the rest of the stones just a bit.

"I like it." He said comparing mine to his.

"Yeah, they were on sale." I winked before resting back down on him, lacing our fingers together.

Just to let you guys know, me and Nicki have NOT had sex. At most we just gave each other a hand-job here and there. I would never sleep with another guy while dating a guy no matter if I love them or not, I'm not like that. Some of you may be thinking that dating a guy while already in a relationship is cheating whether you have sex or not, well it's really not. To me at least. This entire week I won't have sex with Nicki until we get home maybe not even then, right now I don't need sex with Nicki to make me happy, he makes me happy by just being there for me day in and day out.

My favorite part of the day so far has been holding him that night as he rested his body on top of mine with his head on my chest. I didn't like doing this a lot but there are those few occasions where holding him like he does me just over takes and I cave into his eyes when he asks me to hold him. His soft breath rolled over my bare chest as the thin sliver of the moon let its light shine through the large glass pane windows. I gently began rubbing the soft skin of his shoulder own his bicep and returning after reaching his elbow.

"You okay Boo?" He asked without opening his eyes.

"Fine Babes." I said softly, touching my lips to his forehead.

"Just checking you seem," He paused to turn his head up at me. "Uneasy."

"I'm just thinking." I smiled again and this time touched my lips to his.

"Spill." He sat up in bed, adjusting the pillows behind him as he pulled me between his legs.

"What's there to spill? I have everything I've ever wanted or needed. I have you, Sam, that's all I need."

"Then why are you still awake at 2am?"

"I was thinking about Ares. I kind of feel bad for doing what I did, well what I'm going to do and when he finds out. Don't get me wrong, I love you Nicki but Ares spent four years with me and I was leading him on for three of those years and not telling him and not breaking up with him."

"Then do something for him."

"That's the question I have, what to do for him?"

"I don't know you're going to have to figure that out for yourself."

"I know. And thank you babe. Thank you for not freaking out about me bringing him up and everything."

"Nothing to it. I know you're going to feel the regret of the three years and I know I can't say don't worry about it and it was his fault and all, because it wasn't and I'm not going to side with anyone, it's your fight to figure it out. Just relax and see things from both sides." I had to admit, his advice was always the best.

"I love you, you big lug. You always know what to say and I can't say thank you enough."

"No need because I love you little boo." He slid down onto his side, pulling me down with him and up against his chest with his arm over my side, his hand resting on the center of my chest. Like always he nuzzled his nose into my hair his deep inhale rolling down the back of my neck.

"Night." I heard him say softly before his breathing slowed and I knew he was sleep minutes before I finally got into my own sleep.

After what seemed like minutes of sleep and a dream I knew I should have remembered but seemed to slip from my mind I woke up to Sam's giggles of joy and Nicki's own hearty laugh that shook my body even though my back was only touching some of the side of his.

"Morning." I yawned, rolling over onto my back as I looked up to see Sam standing on Nicki's abs as Nicki held him up with his hands under his arms.

"Morning Daddy." Nicki laughed as he winked at me.

"Hey now, no, uh, bedroom names in front of our son." I laughed, sitting up in bed next to Nicki.

"Muh-muh-mun-ring." Sam squeaked out with a giggle and a laugh. "Mun-ring!" he repeated over and over until it finally came out as one word, "morning!"

"Will ya look at that, he knows another word finally." Nicki smiled as we shared a kiss and then he passed me Sam.

"Morning little buddy." I said in a soft tone as I lifted him up into the air and then put him back down onto my abs.

"Morn-ing, Daddy." I smiled as he got the whole word out and then he laid down on my chest, stretching his arms out as if to give me a hug, a typical morning routine on weekends for him to do to whoever was holding him.

"Buddy you give the best hugs." I smiled as I ruffled his hair.

After changing his diaper I let Nicki get ready while I got him fed and dressed which was harder than it sounds since he still wants to explore everything and everywhere. Finally I gave up and put him down on the ground to crawl around. When Nicki came down the stairs Sam stood up and walked the few steps towards him and reached up, wanting up which Nicki gave in and lifted the little guy into his arms. Sam liked being held up by Nicki because he was so tall so Sam was high up and could see a lot more. Nicki held Sam so he was resting against his shoulder and was kind of standing up it seemed, which meant Sam could play with Nicki's hair like he liked to do.

TO Be Continued. . .

I love the feedback I got from everyone.
