If you shouldn't be reading this, then don't and what are you doing here anyway? Jason and Jordan's tale - 16 They met outside after school. "Hey, Sexy Legs." "Hey yourself. Good to see that your legs are still in one piece. Jordie, listen, I've been thinking." "Keep it up. You might have beginner's luck." "Shut it, Jordie. I've been thinking that today's your cousin's first day. If you want to go off with him, that's okay. We'll have plenty of other days, I can wait." "Are you kidding me? Maybe you can wait, but I can't. Kieran will be fine, he's got his own fan club already. I want to be with you Jase. First, last and always, every chance we get, I want to be with you." "Great, Jordie. Thanks. I'd rather be with you too, but I'd wait if I had to." "Shut up Jason. Come on, we'll go to the information centre on the way." Judo classes were on Mondays, Karate was Wednesday evenings. They decided on Karate as the time was more convenient, besides, you got to hit people, didn't you? They arrived back at Jason's house and there was no mucking around, they both had one thing on their minds. They took five minutes to feed and water the dogs - it had to be done - then it was into the bedroom where they whipped their clothes off and got it on. For the next hour or so, the rest of the world did not exist. They were a matched pair of horny teens, gleefully filling the aching void in themselves and each other. They were together, totally in tune for once, and they were very much in love. Life was great. Eventually they surfaced and Jordan rang home to see if he could stay and eat with Jason. Of course he could, but he shouldn't be late home, it was a school-night. They were both still completely naked and comfortable with it as Jason started getting a meal together and Jordan sat admiring the view. A car pulled up in the driveway outside. "Damn! Who would that be?" Jordan sat up. "Who knows? Wait there, I'll have a look." Jason went to peek through the windows by the front door, then came running back. "Fuck, Jordie! It's my dad. Come on - we've got to get dressed, quick!" Luckily, he remembered to lock the bedroom door, as they were nowhere near finished getting dressed when the handle rattled as Mr. McDonald tried to open it. "Jason!! Jason, what the hell are you doing? Open this door." "Just a minute, Dad. Hang on, I'm getting changed." "Hurry up about it. I'll go and see the girls." "The girls?" Jordan asked as he struggled into his sweatshirt. "The girls - Queenie and Sheba. He'll have time for me after he's checked on them." They finished dressing and looked each other over. "Jason, you twit. You've put your school clothes back on." "So? They were the closest to hand." "So, you told him that you were getting changed." "Yeah. Oh, whatever. He'll never notice what I'm wearing. Come and meet him, Jordie." He was wrong. They went out to the backyard where Mr.McDonald was romping with the excited dogs. "Hey Dad. You're a day early. This is my friend, Jordan Taylor." "Your "friend"?" (They could hear the italics.) Jordan tried to make the best of it and he held out his hand. "Hello, Mr. McDonald, nice to meet you, at last." He totally ignored him as he turned on Jason. "What's going on here, Boy? You said you were getting changed, what are you doing in your school clothes?" Jason blushed. "Dad, I, umm." "Umm nothing! What were you wearing if you're in your school clothes now? Were you wearing anything at all?" Both boys were red-faced and embarrassed. They had no answer to that. "That's it, isn't it? - this gay nonsense." Dan McDonald studied their red faces and he knew that he was right. "So that's what's going on when I'm not here. You're bringing your boyfriends home and fucking them, in MY house. How much do you have to pay him? Or, does he pay you? Explain to me how it works." "Dad, don't. It's not like that." "It's not? What then? Are you in luurve?" "Mr. McDonald," Jordan tried. "It's not what you think." "Shut up, Boy. You don't know what I think. You can piss off out of here. On your bike and don't come back. You're not wanted here." "Jason is my friend, my best friend." "Jordie, don't," Jason said. "This is not the time to get stubborn. Just go. I'll talk to you later." "Damn right you will. Are you going to be all right, Jase?" "Of course I'll be all right. This is my father here. Just go, Jordan." "Okay, if you're sure. Ring me later." "I will, or I'll see you at school tomorrow. 'Bye Jordan." "'Bye, Jase, and remember what we talked about. You're not alone, ever." Jordan worried all the way home. His parents were surprised to see him back so soon, but he didn't want to talk about it. A few minutes later there was a knock and his mother put her head in through his bedroom door. "Jordie. Are you all right, Son?" "Yeah, Mum. I'm all right." He sat up on his bed and she came and sat beside him. "What's the matter, Jordan? Have you had a fight with Jason?" "No. It's nothing like that." "What then? There's something wrong. You're home far too early and I don't see my laughing boy here." He forced a little grin. "Thanks Mum. It's okay, I think. Jason's dad came home early, that's all. He wanted to talk to him so I had to go." "You had to leave? What was he going to talk to him about? Did he find you in - umm - a compromising situation?" "Mum!! No. Look, thanks, but it's embarrassing okay?" "Forget embarrassing, Jordie. I'm your mother, I used to wipe your shitty bottom. Okay - we don't want to think about that. But I am your mother and I love you. Tell me what's wrong, Jordie." "Nothing's wrong. I think. Jason's dad arrived home early and we were in the bedroom and he guessed what was going on and he didn't like it. He told me to go and that I'm not welcome there. Jason's going to ring me after they've talked." "Oh, I see. well I did ask. It's all right, Jordie. I was a teenager once you know. A long time ago, but I remember what it was like. I, er, well I wasn't always an angel you know." "So I've heard," Jordan grinned. "Mrs. Metcalf said she could tell me some stories, but she won't. It's not just sex, Mum. I love him. I really do love him." "Yes. I think you do. Come on Jordie, come and get something to eat. Sitting here worrying's not going to fix anything. Jason's a good kid and he seems pretty level-headed. Things will work out, I'm sure of it." "Okay, I am starving." He got up off the bed. "I hope you're right, Mum. I love you, Mum, you're the best." "Of course I am, and don't you forget it." She hugged him and he sobbed on her shoulder. "I wish we were older. I wish we were old enough so that it didn't matter what anyone thought." "Wishing won't make it so, Son. I don't know if anyone's that old anyway. Come and eat." Jason didn't phone and Jordan couldn't wait. He tried, twice, but all he got was the answer phone message. "Yo. Dan McDonald here. I'm not here actually. Leave a message, I'll get back to you." No mention of any Jasons living there. Jordan didn't leave a message, he didn't want Dan McDonald getting back to him. He'd wait. In the morning, when Jason headed off to school, he rounded the first corner and Jordan was standing there, waiting for him. "What are you doing here, Jordan?" "Waiting for you of course. I can't wait until we get to school. Is everything all right, Jase? What did he say?" Jason lifted his head and looked him in the eye. Oh, he said lots. We had a long talk." "What the hell?? Jason, you've got a black eye. What did he do to you?" "Nothing. I walked into a door, that's all." "Bullshit! He hit you, didn't he? That bastard hit you." "No. It's none of your business, just forget it, okay?" "No, it's not okay and it is my business. Your father hit you because of me, that makes it my business. Don't keep secrets from me, I love you Jase." "Well don't. You can't. It's over, Jordan. We're finished. I'm breaking up with you." He continued on his way, walking to school. Jordan stood still for a minute, totally gobsmacked, then he ran to catch up to him. "Finished? What do you mean, you're breaking up with me? You can't." "I can. I just did. We're over, Jordan. Leave me alone." He kept walking, Jordan grabbed his arm to stop him. "Jase - Jason. Don't do this to me. What have I done?" "Get off of me! Don't touch me. It's nothing you've done, it's me. I had to choose. Well I did and I chose not to see you any more. That's all." "That's all? And I don't get any say in this?" "No you don't. It's over. Leave me alone." "Right! I will then. Fuck you McDonald. I can do better than this." Jordan stormed off down the sidewalk as only Jordan could. Jason continued, walking slowly as he watched him go. With his eyes full of tears, he whispered, "I have to, Jordie. I just have to. I know you can do better than me. You can do much better than me." Sandie and Dawn were waiting for him at the next corner. "Whoah! What have you done to Jordan? He's SO angry." "Nothing. I've done nothing. Just shut it, okay?" He kept walking, they fell into step beside him, one on either side. "No we won't shut it," Sandie said. "We're your friends and we care about you guys, both of you. What's going on Jason?" "The soap opera's over, Sandie. We?ve broken up, finished." "Oh, come on, Cinderfella. You two seem to be fighting at least once a day. You won't be finished, Jordan will be back." "I dunno about that," Dawn said. "Maybe he won't this time. He looked like he was really pissed." "He won't be back," Jason said emphatically. "This wasn't his idea, it was mine. I broke up with him. Though, I wish he'd taken it better. He really was angry wasn't he?" "Of course he's bloody angry. He doesn't want to break up with you, he loves you, Cinderfella. Haven't you figured that out yet? You love him too, don't you?" "No! No, I can't." "You can't? Why not? Are you having trouble with the "being gay" thing?" "No I'm not having trouble. I know who I am. It's my dad. He came home early last night and he figured out what was going on with Jordan and I, and he's having huge trouble with it. He said that he's not having a faggot for a son and that's all there is to it." "Tell him to get over it. Stand up to him, Jason. Tell him that he's got a gay son whether he likes it or not." "I did." Jason pointed to his black eye. "He didn't like it at all," he grimaced. "He hit you?" Sandie breathed. "Oh, Jason." "Yes, he hit me. It's what fathers do isn't it? It's what mine does anyway." "And you're scared of him?" Dawn asked. "You're giving up your boyfriend because you're scared of your father?" "No - it's not like that. He's got the power, all the power. He's got the house, the money, the food, the dogs - everything I need to live, and I had to choose that or Jordan. So I did. If I have any more to do with Jordan, or any boys, then I'm out of there - out on the street with nothing, not even the clothes that he's bought me. I can't do that. I've got to live, somehow. One day, when I can get a job, I'll be able to do what I want, until then I'm stuck there with nowhere else to go." "Damm Jason!" Sandie exploded. "I didn't think you were such a wimp. Stand up to him, ignore him. He's never bloody home anyway." "I can't, Sandie. I just can't. I've got nothing to stand on, and he'd know - he's going to have me watched. My Aunt, my cousins, they'd love to drop me in it. And your aunt, the Dizzy Daisy, she's moving in. She is going to live in our house to keep an eye on me too. She'll probably have you spying on me next." "That would never happen my friend, I wouldn't do that." "No? Thanks Sandie, but plenty of others will. I'm not a wimp but I can't fight this. There's more to it than that too." "More? What more?" "I don't want to lose my father. He's wrong about this, but he's all the family I've got left. My mum and sisters have gone, my gran's lost her marbles and the aunt and uncle hate me. If I don't have my dad, I'd have no family - nobody." "You'd have Jordan. Jordan would be your family, he loves you." "Get real. That was never going to last for long anyway. Jordan's way too good for me. Someday, soon, he was going to realise that." "Jordan's not too good for you, Jason. That's stupid thinking. Nobody's too good for you, you're a great person, a special person. I think you've got some serious self-esteem issues." "Maybe, I don't know. But I know who I am and I'm just a nobody." "You're not. No-one's a nobody, and you certainly are not." "Anyway, I've made my choice. It's over with Jordan or anyone else for the next few years. I have to do it my father's way. There's one other thing too. I wasn't going to tell you, but he said that if I don't stay away from Jordan, then he'll deal with him too." "He'll deal with Jordan? What does that mean?" "What do you think it means? He'll go after him, beat him up, maybe even kill him. He says he's not worried about the law. No court's going to convict him for protecting his son from a pervert." "Of course they would. No-one's above the law. Jordan's not a pervert anyway, and neither are you." "But that's how he'd be branded, in the media and everything. He'd be pictured as a pervert. And, some people ARE above the law. My father's got some very good connections in his lodge - lawyers, doctors, judges even, and they look after each other. Maybe it's not right, but that's what they do." "It's not right. It's not right at all." Sandie said, "So, you're just giving up?" "Yes I am. I've made my choice and that's it." "Damm. And people think that Jordan's stubborn." The lunch hour was almost over by the time Jordan found him. Jason was sitting, reading, in a quiet corner in a classroom. Jordan came in and sat down beside him. "Fuck off, Taylor. I've got nothing more to say to you." "Maybe you haven't, but I've got plenty to say to you." "I don't want to hear it." Jason closed his book and stood up. "Well you're going to. Sit down, shut up and listen. Give me two minutes, Jase. Just two minutes and then I'll leave you alone." "Two minutes? All right then, but then you stay away from me. Even now, you've probably got me in trouble again, the spies will be watching." "Right. I'm sorry Jase. I'm sorry that I got you in all this trouble and I'm sorry for exploding at you this morning. You caught me by surprise and I didn't know where you were coming from. I've been talking to Sandie and Dawn and now I think I understand. I don't agree with you, but I do see where you're at. I'm not scared of your old man. Apart from anything else I've got a big family who love me, and if he comes anywhere near me - well, he's got major troubles. You don't have to stay there Jase, you can come and live with me and my family. They'd welcome you and we'll look after you until you can do it yourself. We can support ourselves, I've got a job, you can get one too, no worries. And - as for Jordan being too good for you. That's just bullshit Man. It's the other way around if anything - you're too good for me. I love you Jason and I'm never going to stop loving you. Never. It's not going to happen. Okay, I can see you're not moving. That's all right, I'll wait. I can't make you do anything. I wish I could, but I can't. Always remember, I'll be here for you and I'll wait for you. I'll wait for years if I have to. I love you Jase. Goodbye Jason." He got up and walked away. Jason watched him go with tears in his eyes. "Goodbye my Love," he whispered. They had no contact at all for the rest of the day, apart from yearning glimpses across crowded rooms. Jordan stayed away and Jason remained staunch. He'd made his decision and now he'd have to live with it. After school, they both went home alone, Jordan to his work at the shop, and Jason to his work in his empty home.
